I was offered a newly refurbished “Club Room” for which I paid an additional £10. The room was fabulous. High end bathroom fittings, lights all over the room which were turned on/off by a switch by the bed. The staff were excellent, with directions and assistance with printing documents. Good value for money and hugely recommended.

The room was average. The beds need attention or replacement, as the springs are worn out. We could clearly hear noise from the opposite room even with the doors closed, which made the stay quite noisy. I wouldn’t recommend this place for couples or families.

The staff were good, and all the in-room amenities were satisfactory. However, the tap water was not drinkable, as it had a rusty taste, and the towels appeared yellowish for some reason.

I felt its pricey for this kind of hotel. We choose this hotel because it was near to my sisters home during Christmas.

This is a pretty run down place with rotten windows, cheap toiletries and drinks. The staff are friendly and the rooms clean with the highest water pressure I've ever known. Breakfast offered a good choice. There was a fridge and microwave in the room which was unexpected and they offered a reasonably priced set of simple meals. I think there a probably a lot of workmen stay here.

Unfortunately, the rooms aren’t soundproof at all. You can easily hear people talking, phones ringing, and doors opening and closing next door. It gets really annoying and makes it hard to relax.

Large ground floor Club room at front of the building, parking area outside large windows was noisy plus 24/7 lights from busy main road. Close to reception. Room a bit shabby but airy and warm from easily controlled radiators. Comfortable clean beds. Very small shower and toilet - could do with updating. Toilet seat was loose, needs repair, could be hazardous for older person like me. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly on aŕrival, showed me a couple of rooms but the lift was not working so couldn't look upstairs. Buffet breakfast choices excellent, cereals, fruits, yoghurt, toast etc.juices, tea, coffee, oatmilk. Full English 😋 freshly cooked.

Ultimately you get what you pay for.

I stayed in room 200. The room was clean and the bed comfortable but overall the decor was dated. Not a problem for me as I was only staying 1 night. One think it is lacking is a bedside table which was annoying but not a major issue.

This is an excellent location if you are visiting your child at Reading University (as I was) because it is a 15 minute walk, or 5 minute drive away.

There are all the amenities you need. Kettle, fridge, microwave, plates, bowls, cutlery and a hairdryer.

I didnt have the breakfast so I can't comment on that.

Located on a bus route, easy walk into town Centre, various shops/eateries a few minutes walk away from hotel. I will definitely stay there again.

Curtains were ripped in the room, no blinds or nets on the window, tbe window was dirty,small dining room,so 30 minutes wait to go in for breakfast. our breakfast order was lost (we only realised when 3 other tables received their orders before us who had ordered after us) limited bar drinks & then it closed at 10 20 Saturday night

Beautiful building in quiet residential area, close to Reading University. 5 minutes walk to Tesco Express. The free parking space is ample. The staff are excellent. The breakfast is surprisingly good. Only the room is basic. There is a damp smell. Had to leave windows open to air it.

Very busy car park on a Saturday night. Clean room though decor a bit dated. Mould in corner of bathroom ceiling and bath plug drained very slowly. Comfy beds which were nice and firm. Fridge, microwave, plates and cutlery provided. Could hear traffic noise from the room. Got the room at a very reasonable price so will consider again in future.

My room was at the back of the Stables building, and the adjacent property had a load of rubbish dumped in the garden after what I’d guess was some refurbishment….it looked like a builder’s unkept yard.
The room was extremely dated and seems to have remained untouched since the 70’s, maybe 80’s. The toilet seat wouldn’t stay up, which is quite frustrating for a man. The heated towel rail looked unsafe, with burn marks at the connector.
Notwithstanding, it was mostly clean (except for one of the bath towels that had brown stains on it, and the carpet which you could feel bits of dirt underfoot and could do with thorough vacuuming), and cheap. It’s in a good location close to The Oracle, and might be OK if/when on a tight budget, but I don’t plan on staying there again.

Absolutely shocking, massively overcharged!

Charged £243 so assumed it would be high end accommodation but was more like student digs/a hostel and would have found £100 too expensive.
The hotel and room was very tired, grubby and felt dirty. The windows were very difficult to open and the bathroom was so old, having a shower the nob came off so couldn’t switch it off. The walls were filthy and the whole suite needs completely ripping out and replacing. I feel like I’ve been charged the rate of a high end London hotel for an awful experience … so disappointed and feeling robbed

Cleanliness was very good. This hotel is dated and seems to be a base for builders and other tradesmen.
The beds were very comfortable and a family room of a double and two proper single beds was welcome rather than converted sofa bed that is usually how family rooms are constructed. There was a wall mounted fan but this was not enough in our current hot spell of weather but we had additional fans in the car so didn't ask for more fans from staff.
Continental breakfast is buffet style but cooked breakfast needed to be ordered. However, cooked breakfast was very tasty. Orange juice was awful, tasting like the cheapest watered down variety. One young woman was running breakfast, she was excellent in every way. Dining room was very dated, the chairs were stained and looked very worn out.
Rooms have a normal sized fridge (not a hotel sized fridge) and microwave which was very useful.
WIFI was free and worked well. Parking was also free.
Surprised that when I returned my key cards to reception, they didn't ask how our stay was.
Fine accommodation for an overnight stay.

The staff are excellent. Beds are comfortable. But there is no double glazing and the decor in the rooms is very 1980s. I actually laughed out loud when I walked into the bathroom. The room was noisy and hot. It was difficult to sleep with the window open because of the road noise. Breakfast was only ok. But hotel is very convenient for walking to the university and the free parking was an added bonus.

I was given a key to a room with someone in it, I woke the person up opening the door.

I felt so let down I did not stay and left the hotel, taking my children on the 6.5 hour drive home as I did not want to stay in the hotel.

I would like a full refund due to the above.

I heard a few bad reviews so I was a bit apprehensive about booking .
The moment I arrived at the reception it did take a few moments for the staff to allocate a room but it wasn’t a long wait
I was approached with smiles .
The staff are friendly and always helpful .
The room was exceptionally clean , equipped with a microwave /fridge freezer and cutlery /mugs /tea and coffee /milk and a kettle .

I slept like a baby .
No Air conditioner but a fan but to be fair it’s a 3 star hotel so I wasn’t expected an AC although it would have been great (lol).
Breakfast was decent .

Please do not go by the reviews on here , book it and experience it for yourself . I don’t know what people were really expecting for a 3 star hotel but I was genuinely impressed.

Special thanks to Christine on reception, although all the staff were cheerful and helpful. We were in the older buildings which were very scruffy and untidy around the grounds. Moved from first room due to unbearable heat, second room much better but nowhere to put clothes that were not on a hanger. Bath very slippy, beware !! Needs a safety met.

I can’t express how disappointed I am with this booking, whilst trying to check in the receptionist couldn’t find our booking, so had to get a senior member to come and check, upon checking Sebastian confirmed no booking through Expedia even though we had receipts. This hotel was also paid upfront. He was aggressive and shouting how it’s our problem that this was booked via a third party and not direct with the hotel and said we would need to pay again. It was the middle of the night 3 young woman by themselves being shouted at by a senior member of staff, after contacting Expedia who were extremely helpful, they tried to ring the hotel twice but Sebastian would not take the call. After a huge fuss he then decided we could have our room that we paid for in the end. The room was GROTTY. We found a huge spider and whilst moving the bedding bugs crawled out. Needless to say we would never return to this hotel even if we were paid to. Stay clear

Perfectly adequate for our needs. We especially needed to be able to prepare a few of our meals. The kitchenette arrangement was perfect for that. Our beds were comfortable. The en-suite was adequate. We asked for a room clean as we had to extend our stay. This was forgotten but was completed the following day. Reception staff were helpful. Parking was easy. The hospital and university are close by.
This was refurbished student study accommodation and provided a self contained economic option for us.

The room I was originally in 810 was some distance away from the main building, I was in a top room that had rotten wooden windows and a gap between the wood and the glass. There was a musty smell and was in need of decorating and a fresh up. The second room 214 in the main building was ok, very small but as it was only for 1 night it did the job. Had to go back to receiption as key card did not work the first time. \"Bar meals\" consisted of chilli con carne or a choice of 6 different curries. Two gents on reception where helpful and friendly when I asked to move room. Would not stay there again.

I was really impressed with the facilities in my room. As well as an ensuite shower room, the wardrobe contained a fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, kettle, kitchen sink, cutlery and crockery. The only downside was that I couldn't turn the heated towel rail off, so the room was a bit warmer than I would have liked.

The sink system does not sink, the ceiling does not look right and the paint is chipped. Extremely small furniture like table chair and everything. The housekeeper knocking the door like I owed her money, I told her I need more time to prepare to leave and she was keep knocking, terrible experience. I won’t come here again.

Loved the architecture of this place. It is old so has its issues, but the rooms i was in were newly remodeled. The first room had some plumbing issues I brought to their attention immediately but it was Christmas and the next day way Boxing day so told them I understood if someone wasn't available right away but I never saw or heard from anyone and by the third day the issue spread from just the bathroom sink to all drains. So i had to bug them again and they had me move to a new room and gave me free breakfastvouchers for the remainder of my stay. I moved into the new room and didnt end up staying there that night and came back to the heater dripped water and soaked one of my shoes, it was the newest remodeled room but obviously still working out some issues. They offered to move me rooms again and i declined. The heater was working and i was able to dry my shoe on the bathroom heater by the time i was leaving. Staff was always very nice and attempted to keep making my stay a good one. I only used 1 of the 3 breakfast vouchers but the food was great and lots of fresh stuff at the buffet part of the breakfast.

Service from Katy at check in was incredible very helpful, chatty and smiley. Room was too small for a family room, heating on full with no way to adjust down made the room incredibly hot and uncomfortable. Overall room dated and in need of maintenance. To be fair to Katy she did offer to move us following feedback however it was late at that point and the child was asleep. Sure/best western id say are competing with travel lodge and premier inn and unfortunately for the same sort of prices this property does not compete. Service great let down by property.

Great for a budget hotel

Detail is in the title really. It’s convenient, city centre location with ample free parking. Walking distance to city centre, uni campus and the train station. If you’re looking for cheerful, wallet friendly accommodation this is ideal. No frills but shouldn’t be expected at the price point. I stayed with my two nearly adult daughters in a room for three. Tight fit but we’re close :)

Room and breakfast was underwhelming. Nothing particularly bad and was okay for the price, but just a bit meh. Room was in a separate building to the rest of the site and didn't feel completely safe. Bathroom was very small and felt like it was in a converted cupboard rather than a typical hotel room ensuite.

Not the Best Experience.
The windows definitely need better draughtproofing, as you could feel the wind coming through. Thankfully, the radiators were effective enough to keep the room warm. The kitchen in our apartment was lacking some basics, like extra glasses or anything for washing up. While the stay was manageable, these issues make it unlikely that I would choose to stay here again.

Charming hotel very close to many amenities and 15 minute walk to the town centre. University of Reading is 10 minutes walk. We really enjoyed our stay

The best I've found for the money

Basic accommodation at a basic price. Not pretty, but comfortable and clean with in room facilities. TV (not smart) screen was faulty in my room

Horrible stay

The room was cold and the central heating is on a time that the hotel owner can change. The windows were single glazed, droughty and ill fitting ie rattling in wind. House cleaning every 5 days or on request!! The so called hotel is actually two building away from the main hotel.
