Awesome breakfast, great location, clean and safe. The family who owns this is so nice and attentive. They helped give us restaurant recs that were delicious (go to Da Franco for pizza). We had an issue with our shower not draining properly and they fixed it within 30 minutes of me contacting. Overall amazing experience!

I highly recommend Sorrento Relais. It is a quiet welcoming facility, small and family run. High standards throughout including clean and well organized. The facility is a reasonably short, level walk from the train/bus station. The neighborhood is safe. The breakfast has a good diversity of offerings.

The receptionist Ilaria saved this property from getting a bad review from me. She was very helpful on each occasion, communicated efficiently with me prior to arrival, and even fixed a plumbing problem in my room! But the A/C did not work well at all, and the weather was hot and humid during my stay. The sink had no stopper, which is dangerous for a contact lens wearer.

Iliana was ever so helpful, from texting ahead of arrival to meeting us later than planned, as well as checking updates for us on the status of the broken train line!
We didn't see anyone from the staff team apart from the breakfast waitress but she too was very pleasant. The room was small but very clean and comfy, with everything we needed. The honesty bar/fridge was a great addition. Location was ideal for our stay.

This small hotel was very nice and in a good location. The rooms are small and simple but clean. Breakfast was excellent with scrambled eggs, juice, meat, cheese, pastries. The staff was very helpful when we had questions. It was advertised that there was laundry but it was just a dryer and it could only be used 3:30-5:30 pm.

Clean and very friendly staff, especially the woman preparing breakfast.
The negatives- bathroom had a cramped setup. Toilet was so close to the shower that I couldn’t sit comfortably without my knees hitting the shower wall. The room was warm when we entered after the day’s excursions. When we asked about the air conditioning, we were told it wasn’t working throughout the property. Opening the window cooled the room down after 30 minutes , but we were fortunate that temperatures weren’t hot outside.

Good points: good breakfast, comfortable bed, good shower, good location, clean, pleasant staff. Bad points: Our basement room was incredibly damp, and always smelled musty. Very unpleasant. Crowded bathroom with no counter space at all. Not enough hangers, and short closet didn't allow me to hang dresses. No hangers for pants at all. A green emergency light on the ceiling coyuld not be turned off, and lit up the whole room at night, making it difficult to sleep.

Sorrento Relais - reasonable hotel

Amazing stay at Sorrento Relias. Staff were so so friendly, helpful. Amazingly central and convenient location for my stay. Room was cleaned every day and I had an amazing greeting by the gentleman around 12.30pm when I couldn't check in till 1pm but my room was ready. The lovely afternoon receptionist also helped me book the speed train ticket to Florence, and the breakfast and staff who served it were so helpful too. I would stay here again, and recommend that you do too,

The whole experience was great. Our room was on the first floor and was very large. It was clean and bright. Check in and out was a breeze. Our shower head was broke, they replaced it the next morning. Our air conditioner shut off for some reason but they had it running in 5 min. The rooms are next to a busy road but the windows block a lot of the noise so its not bad at all. It was a very nice place to stay for a great price and great location.

We had five nights here. We were given the first room near reception which worried me as I thought it might be noisy with all the foot traffic and voices but actually was ok and quiet after hours. The room is very outdated and def could do with a makeover. The bathroom needs ventilation as no exhaust fan or window and so smelt very musty. Our room was a bit bigger as we had booked for three people but one did not turn up so gave us more room to move but would have been very cramped if the three of us had been in it. Checkin good and the reception and kitchen staff lovely. Breakfast included, it was a continental. Walking distance from train station about ten minutes. Road very busy but once windows closed does block out the noise. Walking distance to most sights takes about 10- 15 minutes and lots of supermarkets and eating around. Safe in the room, as well as jug and mini fridge so all a bonus. You get keys to let yourself in after 8.30 at night so not an issue. €3 each person each night for city tax, the most we have paid anywhere. This is not hotels fault but mandatory from the local government.

Small B&B which is very well located, just a 10 minute stroll to Piazza Tasso and near to the train & bus stations. Our ground floor room was clean, spacious and well equipped, including a small fridge and Italian Sky TV (many of the programs you can change to English language though). Good bathroom, but in need of a couple of minor repairs. Electric window blinds and double glazing effective at keeping out light/noise when required. Aircon and room safe very good. Adequate continental breakfast. Manager and staff very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend as budget accommodation and if we come back to Sorrento would be happy to stay here again.

They lock the front door at 8:30 pm and give you a clicker to get in. My clicker did not work the third night I was there. It was early enough that a man was awake on a second story balcony and opened the door for me. Could have been locked out all night!

Stayed for two nights, good location, easy to find. Very welcoming staff at all times. Room was a good size, clean and comfortable. Some noise experienced as other guests arrived late at night. Breakfast excellent. Doesn't have views of the bay or anything like that but it's a good location close to the station and really good value for money if you just want a base for travelling to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Vesuvius. Would definitely recommend it.

Sorrento Relais is located on a quiet one way road 10 minutes from the railway station and buses (buses park outside the railway station). Therefore it's very easy to get to, say, the Amalfi Coast on a bus or Pompeii by train. There's other destinations of course.The accommodation was on the ground floor (for us) and consisted of a bedroom with double bed and a bathroom with washbasin, toilet and shower. The room was not 'ooh, this is amazing' but was certainly above adequate for the price. The room was very clean and tidy. The bathroom towels were changed regularly and fresh soap provided. The room overlooked a garden centre. There is an electric outside metal blind to close if darkness for sleeping is required, this is operated by a simple two part switch on the inside wall.
Breakfast was the usual continental type: an adequate choice. The attendant provided tea or coffee as required. Orange juice etc was also available.
So why 5 stars for staff? They were always attentive and ready to help. There was always a genuine smile on arriving at breakfast or reception. They were always helpful whatever the question. They had a genuine friendliness, demonstrated by the hug and kiss initiated by them when we left.

Only when we checked out on Sunday was only the waitress and room maid there who didn't speak a word of English. B and b was worth the money and close to everything and did the job. We had an enjoyable and comfortable 4 night stay here. The room was small and had a tiny window with no view but was in an excellent location and we were hardly in it. The breakfasts were brilliant, bed large and comfortable and room clean and tidy. There were no tea or coffee making facilities so if you like your early morning cuppa take a travel kettle!

Pleasant location and staff at the Relais

Although our bathroom was not attached to our room and we were in the basement, we still found this to be a very pleasant stay! The staff was very friendly and this provides a great base of operations for conducting excursions throughout the Sorrento area. Save your money for all of the increbile things to do nearby -- beaches of amalfi, capri boat excursions, pompeii ruins, vesuvius hike, and so much more! Loved the town of Sorrento and this budget but safe and friendly hotel provided all we needed to enjoy the region.

This has to be the worst hotel ever, it was the most terrible experience we had, we were booked in for 6 nights and lasted only one only because we couldnt find another hotel. The room was filthy, the shower was broken and so disgusting. Walls were filthy, no chairs, bedspreads were so old an op shop wouldnt except them. We had a airconditioner motor right out side our room, noisy all night, dacron was so old in pillows it was seperating. It was a disaster, shouldnt be even known as a hotel. DONT GO THERE. It lets Expedia down and Sorrento

As this hotel is a part of some building, it was a bit hard to find (fortunately, I'd checked the address in advance so I asked the tourist information how to get there) . Although I was given the double room for single use, my room was sandwiched between the hall for the breakfast and a kind of kitchen which the staff do the washing up so it was quite noisy in the morning. I heard other guests talking, the sound of washing up and the staff walking up and down in front of my room. Because of that, I couldn't go back to sleep. Also, because it was in the basement and there was a window facing to the road, the traffic was very noisy. If you are tired, you wouldn't care all those noise though... Apart from those noise and if you are lucky to be given the other rooms, this hotel was good to stay. The room was always clean, the staff were friendly. I would recommend this place!

If you're looking for 5 star luxury, this is not the hotel for you. But if you want somewhere convenient to the rail/bus station and close to the town centre at a good price, this is the place. That price includes wi-fi, sky tv, room safe. Our room was kept extremely clean and, on arrival, Pasquale gave us his mobile number in case we had any problems during our stay in Sorrento. There were none, but he was always willing to give advice whenever we saw him.

Hotel photo misrepresents what hotel looks like. Room was small and cramped with a shower barely large enough to be usable More importantly, the walls of the rooms are paper thin so we heard everything our neighbors were saying and doing. Had to ask the hotel staff to quiet them down on occasion. Hotel says it is a short walk to city center. Maybe to the edge of city center but not to the center itself or to the port. In fact had to take a cab to the port. Breakfast was very limited and (in Sorrento of all places) pastries came wrapped in cellophane. The only good thing about it was that it was cheap. Hotel advertises that front desk is open 24/7 but after 9 you have to phone the manager if there are any problems or if you need anything. Other than the manager who has limited English, no one else speaks English. All are friendly and helpful, but there is a big communication gap. Don't expect anything but the basic services (nothing concierge like such as booking tours, etc.)

Great place to stay if you are on a budget. We where there for a wedding over the weekend and the location was perfect for this. Its also close to the train station which is great. If you aren't expecting a posh hotel then its ideal.(it met our expectations stop on) The only downside was the breakfast, im not overly worried about the food but a good and slightly larger coffee in the morning would have been nice.

Wild nights in Sorrento

The hotel was a bit difficult to find, however it is a new establishment and the owner went out of his way to come \"find us\" when we could not get the GPS to bring us there. There seemed to be work going on in the building at all hours of the day too. The town is wild on a Saturday night with Italian \"Scooter Jocky's riding all over the place on tight narrow streets. This is more of a Sorrento thing, but the location was real close to the ferry to Capri which was wonderful.

Economic, great value, clean and friendly B & B

Very clean but basic bed and breakfast. Water pressure low (it's Italy, not UK!) but everything worked well. Cleaner lady wonderful - always clean and well presented. Sheets changed after one week - towels changed daily. The manager is expanding the place and was currently putting in a breakfast room so it will be better as from next week (May 13). Noise travels a bit due to lack of carpeting (they don't have them in Italy) but it wasn't too bad. We had the wall next to the hotel kitchen so heard them chatting and cooking etc, but again - not a problem. The photos are a little misleading as the rooms are not as big as they appear (I think the manager used a wide angled lens!!) but they ARE very clean. There was a safe, a fridge (now't in it - no sign of the bar!) and air conditioning.

Over all, I would use this place again and I have NO hesitation in recommending it. It was good value for money and the manager was helpful - even to saying if we had a problem or got lost, to call him (though his English was rather limited).

I loved the fact that this place DIDN'T look like a hotel from the outside, but was somehow integrated into the locals apartment block. This was my first time abroad and I just embraced the differences. If you want English poshness, then stay in the UK. This is Italy - and I LOVED this little place.

Well done, Pasquale, the changes you have made to this place in 15 months have made this a delightful haven; we loved it!!

Just what I was looking for!

This was a great little hotel! It was easy to find, near the station and within a short walking distance of the town centre. I travelled alone and felt very safe the entire time.

There are only a small number of rooms so I could enjoy a bit of peace and quiet. Breakfast was very nice and served to my room every morning at whatever time I stated. The rooms were bright and very clean and all had Sky TV and free WiFi.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The reception isn't manned 24 hours a day but the owner was always on stand-by if guests needed anything. The staff had a wealth of information about the local area and near-by tourist attractions. The hotel owner would go out of his way to ensure his guests had a pleasant stay.

I can't wait to stay there again!

The reception is not open all night but they give you keys and we called the day before to let them know we were checking in. The hotel overall and our experience was great and we would definetly stay here again.

The manager was friendly and very helpful with information about where to go and what to see in Sorrento. He was also instrumental in arranging excursion bookings for us, even though we were travelling out of season and many companies had closed their excursions for the year. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels supplied. As it was on the ground floor, access to and from the room with our bags was very easy. The Sorrento Relais was close to shops, cafes and restaurants, and was a short walk from the train and bus station. We had a very enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to recommend the Sorrento Relais.

Great little hotel

Pasquale the owner could not have been more helpful. If I ever needed any information or there was even a slight problem with the room it was sorted straight away and he was always on hand to help.
Bus and ferry information for trips to capri, positano, amalfi, ischia, and ravello was available in the hotel.
The hotel was a very short walk from the metro (Vesuviana) and bus station, less than 10 minutes and very easy to find if you follow the instructions from their website.
I had an amazing week in Sorrento and would definitely stay here again.

Good value, Clean rooms and helpful staff.

Hotel room was extremely clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. No problem really, though I wouldn't say its the best choice for a romantic break. The location is good considering the price. 5-10 mins away from the central square in Sorrento. Easy enough to find with Google Maps. Only stayed one night before a flight back to Britain. Room was at street level/ground floor so you did get some noise overnight from Refuse Truck emptying bins outside. It did mean you pretty much needed to keep the outside metal shutter down over the window at all times for privacy. There is no free overnight street parking nearby (in fairness not many hotels do in Sorrento), so you take your chance, though the hotel does offer overnight parking at a nearby location, but its cheaper to use metered overnight parking if you can find it.. Overall the stay was fine, didn't have breakfast as I was checked out before the staff arrived to get my flight. Would stay there again, as the room itself was modern, clean and well furnished.

Good place

For being a 2-star hotel, we are incredibly pleased with our 2 nights stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, and fresh, but had some wear and tear but it was fine. Breakfast buffet was over our expectations since they had quite some things to choose from even though they’re a small hotel. The location is also perfect since it’s only 5 minute walk to the train and around 10 minutes to the city center.

Overall really pleased, can recommend!
