very nice 3 star hotel, neat and clean, staff is friendly, helpful, especially the chef who made the breakfast, appreciate his kindness, he let us eat at 7am instead of 7:30am, he made the food looks good tastes good. We checkout at 6am, he was already working, helpful, friendly, want to stay again

Nice and clean hotel, in a good location and walkable. Staff were friendly. The breakfast was as you would expect, though the area it is in is quite cramped and they left some food, like eggs, sausages, out to sit in the cold. Room was a reasonable size and came with a nice balcony, though expect to hear the noise outside given the location. The room also had thin walls so you could hear the people next door coming back late at night. Overall though, I would consider staying here again.

I don't normally take the time to write reviews, but I wanted to say this was a great hotel choice. It was centrally located. The staff was very friendly. Great breakfast included. Spacious and well-maintained rooms. We are a family of four with 2 seven year olds and we were pleased with our stay. It's also a short walk to the train station, so you don't need a cab.

Staff helpful, with a big thankyou to Marica. There was street noise but hard to avoid in Sorrento. Breakfast had a lot of sweet items, savoury offerings adequate. An issue is the tiny cramped breakfast buffet area which makes it difficult for more than one person to access at a time. Bit of a problem when you're rushing to have breakfast before early day tour starts.

Terrible Experience – Would Not Recommend

My stay at this hotel was beyond disappointing. Upon arrival, I immediately noticed how cramped the entire place felt. The hallways are narrow and dimly lit, making it feel almost claustrophobic to get to the rooms. To add to the frustration, the receptionist did not speak a word of English, which made the check-in process slow and confusing.

The breakfast area was shockingly small, with barely enough room for guests to sit comfortably, and finding an empty seat was nearly impossible. The few options available were subpar, with food running out quickly and no staff around to replenish anything.

Location-wise, the hotel is situated in a noisy, bustling area that didn’t feel safe, especially at night. Street noise made it hard to relax or get a decent night’s sleep. Overall, this hotel was a huge letdown, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and peaceful stay.

We were so pleased with this hotel. It was in a convenient location near Piazza Tasso. Close to the ferry and many restaurants. Very modern, clean rooms and excellent breakfast included. The people at the front desk were extremely helpful. We highly recommend and we certainly would stay there again.

Close to train station. Very clean with friendly staff. Not central to the busy core of Sorrento but only two minutes away. Older property which is well maintained and decorated. Would stay there again.

We travel a lot and Italy never disappoints. The richness of their culture, the warmth of its people…. All the staff at this hotel is extremely accommodating. We stop at front desk only to ask a question and Vincenzo went out of his way, called the tour company and arranged a closer pick up. He definitely conquered our hearts. Very, very grateful for making our stay memorable. We will definitely be back.

We loved our stay and happy that we booked with Hotel Sorrento City. Property and rooms very clean, staff very helpful and great breakfast. The walls are thin so you can hear noise from the next room, but we we're lucky that our neighbors we're quiet during the night

Great location from the train station and buses and walking distance to the city center and the ferries. The room was comfortable and spacious and there was a beautiful rooftop bar. The staff was extremely helpful in answering our questions and storing our luggage the day we checked out. The breakfast was good as well.

Beautiful hotel located within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and waterfront. Breakfast was amazing and although the rooftop terrace bar was only open our last afternoon/night we loved the ambiance of this area. The hotel is quite modern in decor and we were impressed that the room’s electricity turned off when you left the room with your key. Great environmental stewardship practiced by this hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!

Overall our stay was good! Hotel Sorrento City was in a great, walkable location. It was a bit noisy at night seeing as though you are on the main boulevard, but the noise did not bother us. Our only big complaint was the bed; the bed we slept in was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept in. We were looking forward to a good nights rest after long days of travel, but instead we became sore from sleeping in such a hard, uncomfortable bed.

Fabulous place to stay in Sorrento! Perfect location that you can walk to everything right our the front door...just a hop and a skip to Piazzo Tasso, great breakfast, wonderful rooftop and very helpful staff! Loved our room, too!

The hotel is very clean and beautifully set up, the staff go above and beyond and they are so friendly and very helpful, the owner Roberta is a beautiful wonderful lady that greats and welcomes you like family. This is my 2nd year staying at this hotel and i will definitely be staying there again next year. They also serve a wonderful delicious and fresh breakfast. The hotel's location is fabulous right on the Corso Italia and walking distance to everything.

Close enough to walk to train station, and centre of Sorrento. Room was clean & modern, spacious enough for a couple of nights. Buffet breakfast was adequate. Unfortunately we had a first floor room just over reception next to the cleaners cupboard, so lots of noise from guests returning at night, & cleaners starting work at 6am!

Great Affordable Hotel in the middle of Sorrento!

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Sorrento City for one night. We last minute decided to stay in Sorrento after our Amalfi hotel was not very good, and to make it easier to get to Naples the following day where we were staying before flying home. We booked with our hotel rewards, which included this being a free nights stay and a complimentary bottle of prosecco. Great hotel and very affordable. Very centrally located in Sorrento and walking distance to everything in the main city center! The bus station and train station are at the same place, and less than a 10 minute walk (bussed from Amalfi to Sorrento, and trained from Sorrento to Naples). We arrived before check in and they let us leave our bags in the lobby so we could walk around Sorrento. We returned at 1:00 PM and checked into our hotel. Room was very clean, all of the staff were very friendly. A lot of hotels in Europe - the shower situation is not great. They had a GREAT shower (rainforest shower head with removable handheld shower head and a full glass sliding door so the entire floor does not get soaked). We enjoyed some Prosecco on the rooftop patio. Complimentary breakfast was okay. Checkout was at 10:00 AM and they let us keep our bags in the lobby as we had a later train. Would definitely recommend!!

The hotel was in a great location! Just a few minutes walk from the main Tasso Piazza. The property and the room was very clean and the staff was friendly. The only issue we had was the air quality in the room, it was very humid and nothing would dry! Other than that it was great, we would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic stay in Hotel Sorrento City! Staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were so clean and we were provided with everything we needed, tea making facilities, extra towels, hairdryer you name it. Beds were also really comfy and we had a great sleep on all 3 nights! Breakfast in the hotel was great too, really filled us up before we headed out on all of our excursions. Rooftop terrace also an excellent place to chill out and watch the world go by, and central local makes it a great starting point for your trip. Overall very happy with this accommodation and will definitely stay again should we return to Sorrento!

Sorrento and Amalfi coast is an amazing place to visit. Sorrento city hotel is in a great location, right in the heart of sorrento. Short walk to everything, close for the train station and port.

Wonderful boutique hotel

I loved this hotel! The location was fantastic. One block from the main square and three blocks from the train station. The rooms were recently updated and beautiful. Comfortable beds. Nice towels. Soundproof windows to block the street noise. 2 charging ports on each side of the bed. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
