Room was clean and spacious. Single bed had far too many blankets and pillows on it, almost like it wasn’t made up properly

Location was perfect for sorrento town centre as well as the train station

Beds were comfortable

Room was a little noisy (114) given that it was above a restaurant and there was some party/street noise on the Friday night which disturbed our sleep

Bathroom had awkwardly placed window in the shower (although not overlooked by anything) which didn’t seem to close properly and there was an unpleasant drains smell from either the bathroom or outside of the window

Breakfast was tasty and had lots of options - although you do need to say what time you’d like to eat as it’s only a small dining room

Service was good and everyone was friendly

Despite the few niggles, we’d stay here again but try and request a quieter room perhaps

This hotel is a little gem in Sorrento. It's hidden on the side street next to the main square. The rooms are big and comfortable. We loved breakfast options. The place is close to shopping, dinning and entertainment. It's very clean. But the best part is the rooftop terrace bar. Pool, view and a full bar. Our bartender, Pepe, was making us the best cocktails. You must go along and try one!

Quaint street and inn with kind service

Wonderful service from the staff — friendly and helpful (especially the woman working at the breakfast)! The roof is fantastic — the view and the comfort. The pool is tiny but it works for a quick cool dip. The hotel’s location is so central to the main area of town for tourists. The only thing that keeps us from rating this as 5 stars is the noise. The small street has the back of many restaurants. Noise from the street and the opening and closing of doors in the hotel hallway could wake you if you were a light sleeper. We would definitely stay there again!

We had such a lovely stay at Hotel Palazzo Guardati! The hotel is beautiful, with a stunning terrace and pool area that really made our time in Sorrento special. Pepe, who worked on the terrace, was amazing – so attentive, kind, and always making sure everyone was looked after. Our room was gorgeous with a fantastic bathroom, and honestly there was nothing to fault. The location was absolutely perfect – right in the centre of Sorrento, close to all the bars and restaurants, yet still peaceful and quiet in our room. The only small thing to note is that at busy times you might have to wait a few minutes for a sunbed on the terrace, but never more than 10 minutes, and it was well worth it once you were settled. Would definitely stay again!

Great hotel for stay in Sorrento

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Palazzo Guardati. Perfect location in Sorrento, close to all shops, restaurants and harbor. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, delicious breakfast, and pool on the terrace is a great option to cool off after long day of activities. Restaurant just north of the hotel, along the wall, has a wonderful food choices.

The Palazzo Guardati is a wonderful Hotel, it's location within Sorrento made it excellent place as the marine is 10 minute walk. While the main palzz while still being to the decor and veiw from the rooftop pool and lounge area.

-Selected a double bed and found 2 singles pushed together. Complained to duty manager and he could only provide a topper maybe, the next day (i had to ask for it he never offered a solution,)
- amenities in bathroom =only shower gel. No body lotion no shampoo, nothing..just a very bad shower gel
- some lights in room not working in the ceiling, i requested them to be fixed, as we couldnt see properly without ..= nothing
- breakfast....coffee (in italy mind you) was very bad and 1 type of ham and 1 type of cheese. Some sweet options yes.
-breakfast in the room option- only coffees and cereals are included with the basic charge..everything else you have to pay extra...so ham and cheese extra, egg ..extra...pls note we were also told not to go for breakfast at 9am as room is too small...
-room amenties - no kettle no coffee machine no slippers no robe
-worse thing also room was near housekeeping room. chaos laughing and shouting from 7am, impossible to rest and sleep past 7am on holiday after 7hrs traveling, and continuing all day including afternoon hours 2pm 3pm where we tried to have a small rest on some days..impossible as complete chaos and noise at those hours.
Rude staff in general and even when we saw a cockroach outside room at night and phoned reception, he had no spray and told me it will go away tranquillo. Thats it

Close to shops and very central but the facility was on the very limitted items in room .no showercaps, no conditioner or lotion was in rooms. They have closed the roof due to rain we were not allowed to even sit there . Our window opened to another private appartment looking at theur ugly kitchen.Actually that was the only reason for me to choose this hotel.Breakfast was good

This location is magnificent, just off the Tasso main square and all of the shopping streets. So many food options and easy access to the marina/ports. Sorrento is a great base to see the Amalfi Coast. Easy access by Ferry or Train from Naples to get there. Once in Sorrento you can do all of the Amalfi Coast by coach, boat, ferry, however you choose to. Everywhere on the coast has stairs but Sorrento is probably the best one to get to and from places without too many. You cannot avoid coming up from the port to the town without the stairs but if you have luggage, there is a lift at the end of the port that will get you up. The sunsets are amazing and all our tours that we booked from here had easy meeting points. It is also a good location to get to Pompeii.
This hotel has a pool which is a huge bonus. It gets so hot in the summer that it is perfect to just sit in when you've had a day out. And unlike other hotels, you do not have to pay for access.

Staff was rude, disrespected our privacy although the Do not Disturb sign was on, placed clothes inside of the bidet after cleaning, mold in the bathrooms, and after we told the front desk about these issues, they took zero responsibility and just told us they don’t know what happened.

The view of Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples from our room was spectacular. The convenient location was a blessing. The service was outstanding. Receptionist Anna came out in the rain to help us with baggage. Housekeeper Tina anticipated needs with extra blankets. The breakfast attendant remembered our coffee preferences.

The only thing I would mention is that the hair dryers could do with an upgrade.

Although this hotel has a lovely roof bar with excellent service , the overall noise levels here were too much to allow for a good stay. There was high levels of street noise and music playing after midnight on Friday & Saturday nights as well as thin walls that I could hear people in the next room brushing their teeth.

The location is good but that’s about it. Avoid getting a room that overlooks the alley way and is close to the stairs/lift as it is really noisy. The room we had was really basic and the bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast was also very basic. The staff weren’t particular engaging. Decent accommodation in sorrento isn’t cheap but for the price we paid here, there are nicer places to stay in Sorrento

Great location off Piazza Tasso. It's on an alley so no front door car access and no parking. Everything is walkable from the hotel. Pool is very small and rooftop bar is nice, but not always staffed. Breakfast is good and staff very friendly. Only issue was a leaky bathroom sink that we reported and they did not get to during our stay. Highly recommend overall.

terrible check in with arrogant attitude, no security, it was noisy at night with people yelling in the hallways, and even knocked my door at night running through the hallways. security did nothing at all to control it. I also asked for a recommendation of where to eat and they looked at me like if I was asking a strange question, and they pointed to the restaurant next door with no name. This hotel says it is a 4 star hotel, but I remove 2 stars from it. For example, when I arrived to the hotel I asked if there was any water, and the woman answered rude and said if I wanted any water just go get it at the bar with an attitude. Next, the bed has a wood shelf in the middle which I hit my head twice during the night. But the most important thing I have to say about this hotel is the people that work in this hotel don't do anything to provide service and security to their customers.

Hotel is not 4 star. We booked and paid 4 months ahead and asked for connecting rooms, when we got picked up by their van, no rooms available. We were never able to check in. Had to go to another hotel and pay again. Fighting to get our money back. Expedia no help at all.
Actually it seems Expedia did not tell hotel about our request and is at fault. Expedia is too busy, it takes hours on hold to speak to anyone.
Expedia did the same thing on our Car rental in Mykonos.
I am going to close my ten year old Expedia account if they don't do something to help us losing over $3000.00

It was a fantastic hotel, great location at the heart of Sorrento and walking distance to shops, restaurants, and sites. The hotel was extremely clean, had all the amenities and pleasant staff which makes us stay in Sorrento that much more memorable. A particular call out to Pepe at the roof top pool who was so courteous to all the guests and get pleasant to talk to. Overall a great experience and highly recommended.

We stayed 3 nights. Unfortunately the air conditioning never worked properly. We complained 4 times but the vents never blew much air. We stayed away from the hotel for 10-12 hours a Day because it was so hot in our room. There are a lot of other places I would recommend over this hotel. The rooftop terrace and pool were a nice feature but again there are other places that are better.

This was overpriced hotels just above a restaurant in a ally. Photos are deceiving. Pool is a little hot tub but not hot. Rooms are small, dingy and even bed spreads look old In our 17 days trip, I made all bookings on hotels.com and this was the worst in several years.
The bar tender who Alos works as bell man is great.

We were going to a wedding and needed a hotel close to the venue. Its hard to tell from online description what you are going to get but I needn’t of worried. The location is fabulous - down a narrow street off the main square. The rooms are big and slightly dark but when we went up to the roof terrace it was a wonderful surprise. Firstly the views are magnificent, the pool was small but perfectly formed and the sun loungers and bar were spot on. The staff we so attentive. We would definitely stay here again.

As a family who travel regularly I would definitely not recommend this hotel.
The pool is much smaller than expected - about 8ft x 8 ft and though the pool has official opening hours there are often no towels available and no staff there to ask for a towel.
The waiter serving breakfast (and several other staff) was very nice, helpful and friendly but he has too much to do. More staff needed. Also 2 out of 6 mornings there was not a free table for breakfast, as there are only a small number of tables.
The hotels own website states the superior rooms have a bath tub. Having a baby and a toddler we specifically checked this before booking. On arrival we found there was no bath tub and no other rooms with a bath tub available. After 2 nights we were moved to a room that had one. That evening we went to put the toddler to bed in the new room and found the bed had been made with wet sheets !!! The top sheet was dry but those underneath were all damp.
The location is central so very convenient but this does make it very noisy on a Saturday night.

The hotel is decorated with period decor that makes it feel like a palazzo. There is a lovely rooftop bar with a pool that overlooks the Bay of Naples. Pepe, the bartender is very good and makes nice little complimentary appetizers as well. Great central location by the main square. Good breakfasts for all tastes and cultures.

The location is superb. Very traditionally based. Weather was very changeable and the l0ocation helped with regards to bars / restaurants and we tried a fair few. There is one niggle and that is room noise it is situated upon a narrow lathway hence the noise travels. Secondary maybe an idea. But this by nowhere detracts from the hotel. The staff are also excellent.

The property was in a great location. Very centrally located. The staff upon check-in was awesome. We made the mistake of arriving by car, which was a horrible idea because there is literally NO reasonable parking in the entire town. The front desk staff found us at our car (which we had to park illegally) and helped us with our luggage and showed us to the hotel. They were awesome! The entrance to the hotel is difficult to find because it's in a narrow alley. The only trouble we had during our stay was upon checking out. They tried to charge us for two items from the mini bar that we did not use. After much discussion, a call to the owner, and speaking with the maid, they finally removed the charges, but the whole ordeal caused us to be late for our train. It was quite stressful. Had this not happened, I would have probably stayed there again, but not after that. The man that tends bar upstairs is very friendly and helpful.

This was a beautiful hotel with very friendly staff in a great location. I loved the room, especially the bathroom. We had a door to a terrace in our room as well. The gentleman who worked in the breakfast area was especially nice.

Unfortunately it seemed like the walls were very thin, so we could hear a lot of noise, especially because our room was next to the stairs and elevator. The pillows were also a bit uncomfortable.

Great central location and train station a short walk away. The hotel is very clean, accessed just off the main Plazza so some evening noise during our stay but not disturbing.
Too cold for the pool but the solarium and pool area are large and we had an opportunity to sun bathe on one day.
Breakfast was adequate and the staff a joy, very friendly, especially the breakfast waiter :-)

The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. They were very helpful with providing information when asked and the food service staff was super friendly and funny. They made our breakfast experience lovely.

The accommodations were not extremely comfortable,the room was small and beds not the most comfortable. The pool deck area had a gorgeous view with lounge chairs but the pool was on the smaller side, more like a jacuzzi. But we did enjoy because it was extremely hot.

Very central hotel with a great balcony view

We had a lovely time and Palazzo Guardati was a perfect central location from which to explore Sorrento. Being close to several restaurants and bars, there was a little residual noise in the room, but it wasn’t intrusive. The balcony was huge and gave a great view of the bay, the mountains and across the Piazzo Tasso. The bed and the rest of the room was very comfortable, with a great double shower. Breakfasts was very good indeed and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The solarium on the roof was also very comfortable and in mid-June not too crowded - so relaxing. A great place for couples.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay. Great location less than a minute walk to the main square, restaurants, shopping. The staff was friendly, polite, helpful. A charming hotel the beds were firm (I like that) pillows soft. A/c worked. The breakfast was delicious too. There’s a rooftop pool/patio with service and a nice view of the sea. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is beautiful, located in the centre of Sorrento, it’s close to the port and the city centre, shops, bars and restaurants. Our room didn’t have a view of the sea, but the roof top had a beautiful view of the coast and Sorrento, we went in May so not peak time. The hotels bar was not open and the pool seemed closed, the pool is very small it’s more the size of a large hot tub. But has a stunning view of the sea. Our room was very clean and beautifully decorated like the rest of the hotel, but we didn’t have any tea or coffee making facilities, so had to go out to have any drinks. As bar was closed and mini bar was expensive. The hotel is a traditional style building, it’s beautiful but you can hear everything, people coming in and out of the rooms, people outside. The breakfast buffet was nice, but if you have any food allergies, you will be limited to what you can eat as they don’t provide for people with allergies as we are gluten intolerant and we only able to have fruit most days. We really enjoyed our stay, it was beautiful and clean, staff was friendly and this hotel is great for its location.

Location, Location, Location

We stayed there for seven nights and it was an amazing experience. It's located at the center of all the shops and restaurants. It is only a five minute walk to the train station that took us to Naples,Ercolano ,Pompeii . We took the bus from the airport to the the train station in Sorrento and it only cost us 10 euros per person. The ferries that take you to the Almafi Coast, and Capri are located about a 5 minute walk to the docks. The pool located on the third floor has an amazing view of the bay. The hotel provided a breakfast that was great to kick off our excursions. The staff was friendly and professional. We've been to Italy on two previous occasions, but this was my favorite trip thus far.

Favuloso Hotel Guardati

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Palazzo Guardati. We had a lovely room that looked onto a pretty ground floor patio. Breakfast every day was a treat, with devilishly delicious cakes and pastries, and cappuccinos brought to us by the charming and funny Vittorio. The hotel location was exceptional, within walking distance of restaurants, shops, museums and the Bay of Naples. A fabulous surprise was the spacious rooftop pool and deck, which allowed us views of the spectacular Mount Vesuvius.

Great hotel in the center or Sorrento!!

This hotel was a great place to stay. It's in the center of the main palazzo in Sorrento with many choices for restaurants in the immediate area and a close walk to the port, for boat trips to Capri. The hotel had a great breakfast, with a very entertaining waiter. We looked forward to seeing him every morning and also having the great food.

We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Sorrento!!

Very charming, good location

The Palazzo Guardati was totally charming.We haired a car with a driver from Naples to Sorrento, The woman who was working at teh desk, met our car and took our luggage, and took us down a sweet lane to the charming hotel. She was very helpful, although I recommend taking a \"tour\" if you are going to Capri. We are very independent travelers, and as our usual practice, we decided to look for the bus stop to take us to the ferry to Capri. We never found the bus stop. It is a steep walk, and then there are buses to find once on Capri. the \" tour\" we took was only pennies more than doing it all on our own and not the east bit intrusive on the experience. I do think that both teh travel books and the hotel should recommend taking a \" tour\". We stored our large bags and took smaller bags to the Amalfi coast, The hotel was willing to keep them for us while we were away. Breakfast was lovely and every inch of the hotel reminded us that we were in Italy.

Most pleasant hotel experience during our trip.

Recommended by a cousin, and I will do the same. In fact, I rarely return to a same hotel but this one I would. From the moment of our confused arrival (our driver was lost) and the help from the front desk, English speaking staff, beautiful room and large patio, all was nearly perfect.

The best of Italy

Right were you want to be, steps from town center of Sorrento, steps to parking. This is a good central location as hotel prices are good, and easy to go on day trips to Pompeii, Positano and Amalfi and of course Capri.

Great little gem!

Great location, service and breakfast. Easy access to Porto di Sorrento. The rooms are very nice. The staff was amazing to accommodate us for 3 days with only making reservation for first day. We stayed in 3 different rooms, a new one every day. Pro - got to stay in 3 great rooms. Con- beds a VERY firm. Just an FYI

Nice hotel in the middle of everything in Sorrento

This hotel was an awesome experience - the hotel staff was super friendly and helpful, it was always clean, and it just was an amazing place to stay for our honeymoon!
