Hotel was very nice and well up-kept, in a very good location walking distance to restaurants, shops, the sea front and train station. Room was clean and maintained, comfortable beds. Breakfast was varied and very nice and the staff were very helpful and accommodating moving breakfast slightly earlier for us one day when we needed to leave earlier.

When we got to our room around 10am electricity didn’t work. Put our bags in the room and on our way out, we told the man at the desk. He said I know what m’s wrong with it I will take care of it. Come back around 9:30pm smog up to room still no electricity. Go back down stairs and tell the nice girl at the front the situation. She hands us a little key that needs to be put into the socket for the electricity to work.
Everything works fine with the key. Don’t know why the man didn’t just give us the key instead of making us go up and down.
Also little black nats flying around in the room, everytime you kill one more would come. It’s an old building with old furnishings. I wouldn’t stay their again. Friendly staff.

Excellent hotel for anyone who can enjoy a happy stay. It’s close to restaurants and shopping as the main shopping area is less than a minute away.

The front desk people are outstanding as Fabio is very knowledgeable as he gives lots of idea about trips and Simona supported like anything. The suite has two separate rooms with separate tv and air conditioning and the breakfast is nice.

Overall if you want to come and enjoy a great vacation then it’s Rivoli. Also we came in at 9am and ask if they can do an early check in and they gave the room immediately as it’s available!! I would highly recommend and you will enjoy for sure!!

This property is a hidden gem. It is in a quiet location with easy access to shopping and restaurants. Our room had 2 bedrooms with a surprise kitchenette that had a refrigerator and stove. The breakfast buffet was great. Special shoutout to Rosie and Alex who were wonderful! They were so pleasant and accommodating which is just the service you hope to receive. I highly recommend this property.

Amazing hotel right in the heart of Sorrento! We had the attic room that had two bedrooms, each with a tv, tea/coffee facilities and a fridge. There is a lovely rooftop balcony which we made use of too! Staff are super friendly, always asking what our plans were for the day and helping us with transport! 10/10 Rivoli, we’ll be back!! Xx

Arrived for a long weekend to attend a wedding.
This hotel was perfect for us in every way. Comfortable, spotless, modern and very central - a short walk to anywhere in central Sorrento. However by far and away its best quality is the staff - nothing too much trouble, always helpful and always cheerful. Ten out of Ten.Thank you one and all.

Great service, great location. Very loud within the hotel. I knew the street noise might be loud bc of the location being right in the middle of one of the busy walk streets but the walls and doors are thin. Good size bathroom which is rare. The staff was great, we didn't pay for breakfast but let us have coffee, went for a run they happily got me ice water upon my return, made great restaurant recommendations, let us extend our checkout and kept our bags for us while we toured the city. Would return.

I cannot say enough about this hotel - the location was fabulous and the hotel itself was so comfortable.
The rooftop deck for breakfast was fabulous with great views. They were very understanding about my extra person and gave us a great rate on a last minute one night room addition.

Great hotel, except for internet connection

Great price, great location, clean hotel with friendly staff. The wi-fi connection was terrible though. It kept on getting disconnected every 3 minutes, and even when I had connection, it was very slow. Perhaps the concrete structure of the building exacerbated the situation, but it was frustrating when travelers rely heavily on internet search as we travel nowadays.

Hotel Rivoli quality stay, great walkable location

Great location, friendly staff. We had a very spacious room that was actually a 2 room suite. We didn’t need the extra space, although it was nice and would be very nice for families. The bed was too hard for my liking and the room was warm (air conditioning starts in May and we stayed in April), but you can open the windows. There were fireworks one night we were there and they sound like they go off right near the hotel (they were loud) but free firework show! This is very walkable- we walked to train station.

The customer service, the place and the location was wonderful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to anyone going to sorrento. It included and Italian breakfast on the weekend and was reasonably priced. If I was begged to have a complaint it was a little warm in the room but once I told them it was warm they immediately brought us a fan. Love this place

We spent 2 nights at Hotel Rivoli in April. Great location in the heart of Sorrento, and an easy 5-10 min walk from the train station.

Front desk staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast had a good selection, and Donald was very accommodating for any special requests.

The only issue we had was with the “climate control” for the room. The heat and A/C for the building are a single system, so all rooms were set to heat during our visit. Our room on the 3rd floor was uncomfortably warm so we had to keep our patio doors open to try to get some air circulation. Noise from the street combined with a too warm room was not very conducive to sleep. So beware that A/C is only available seasonally when the entire system is switched over. This was disappointing as we specifically searched for hotels with A/C for our April visit (Italy in spring is warm for us northerners), and the Hotel Rivoli advertised that they had A/C when in reality it was not available.

A hotel that integrates into the experience!

This hotel is in historic Sorrento, on a narrow walking path (a taxi could never reach it...but only requires a short walk). Waking up every morning with the opportunity to run quickly outside to several breakfast choices, or enjoy the hotel's continental breakfast was delightful. The staff made us feel very welcome, like we were guests in their home. Right next to shopping, nightlife, ambiance, the sea.

Perfect hotel with paper thin walls

The staff was very nice! The location was great! The only negative is you can hear everything in the entire place. The front desk is 2 floors down, you can hear the phone ring, anytime anyone talks. We could hear our neighbors talking in their room. I could hear a man peeing 1 early morning, very clearly. Otherwise the hotel was great and the staff lovely!

Charming hotel in a perfect location

On our arrival in Sorrento we were met with the warmth and welcome of the staff at Hotel Rivoli which signified our stay and made it such a pleasure. The hotel is in a quirky building which has been renovated with taste and style and we loved our spacious rooms and the sun-trapped roof area. Thank you for taking such good care of us Hotel Rivoli!

Arrived at the hotel only to be told that due to \"technical problems\" they were overbooked and had no room available. So much for booking a month in advance.We were sent to their \"sister\" hotel and ended up with what looked like a decent room until the washing machines started up right next door and the smell of mould/mildew started to permeate the room. maybe because we booked through Expedia they felt they could do this but neither one of us was happy.

Pros:

- The location - extremely central and within walking distance of everything you will need.
- The staff - very friendly, helpful and polite.
- Cleanliness - very clean hotel and in-room cleaner was fantastic, each day.

Cons:

- Some facilities are a little lacking and/or not working great.
- Noise could be an issue to some due to the open hallways, but nothing major for us.
- Breakfast isn't great, toaster is old and very slow, not sure why not just buy a bigger new one!
- Wifi is pretty slow / borderline not useable to actually use internet but works for messaging at least.

Would recommend this hotel to a friend as long as they knew they weren't going to be staying at a 'perfect' hotel. The location and homeliness of the hotel are what makes this place great.

Note: If arriving into the port do NOT get a taxi to the hotel (rip off), walk along the marina to the left (1 euro) that takes you up, then the hotel is a minute walk.

Overall a great stay

We had a great stay at this hotel. Very well located, super friendly staff, clean room and no noise coming from the street during the night. The only downside would be the shower in our room as it was in fact a bathtub with a hand held shower head which makes it quite difficult to wash yourself with. The breakfast was OK but I found it to be more desserts than breakfast food.

The room had sloping ceilings which was particularly uncomfortable to deal with in the bathroom. We could barely stand up in the shower because there was no room. Also, there were no curtains or door in the shower, and the shower head was awkwardly on the side of the shower, so water got everywhere.

Cute little hotel in the heart of sorrento

We only had one night at this hotel and 5 nights at another hotel. The rooms aren't huge but that's Italy I guess and the bathroom only has a hand held shower hose so you need to hold it to wash your hair but the bathroom is nicely renovated. The staff are fantastic and so helpful which makes up for the small stuff. We looked at the breakfast which is in a really sweet little room with natural light. It looked ok but we wanted cappuccino so went round the corner to a cafe called Pura which had a great breakfast with fresh fruit and fresh juice. I'd stay there again because the staff were so goodthe

Spent 6 lovely days at Hotel Rivoli. The hotel was small (8 bedrooms) which gave a very personal service by the staff who were always available and very friendly. If we needed anything at all the staff arranged it for us. The rooms were exceptionally clean and well maintained. All in all we had a fabulous 6 days and would definitely go again.

Loved it. Favourite place in 3 weeks of hotels. Huge room double bed, balcony, kitchenette, fridge, dining table, separate room for kids. Felt like spacious 2 bed apartment rather than hotel room. The hotel is located very close to Sorrento's port and main attractions. One of the staff members spoke no English and poor Spanish so it was very difficult to communicate with him. We stayed three nights there. The first night we were given a spacious room in the first floor. Then we left to Capri for one night, and could leave our bags in the hotel storage which was very convenient. When we came back we were given room 301, located on the top floor of the building, next to the breakfast room, which was very noisy early in the morning, had terrible wifi and had a small bathtub where my husband could barely stand up without bumping his head with the roof. They breakfast is ok. Overall the main advantage of this hotel is its great location.

The hotel is located just in the centre of Sorrento, near restaurants, train station and the port. We stayed there for three nights in total. The first night they gave us a room in the first floor which was good. Then we left to Capri, and could leave our bags in the hotel which was very convenient. When we came back, we were given room 301, located just next to the breakfast room, very noisy early in the mornings, terrible wifi and with a small bathtub making the showers quite a challenge.

Beautiful hotel in a great location

A wonderful hotel right in the centre of everything is surrounded by restaurants and shops. Our room was very clean, big and spacious and a good comfortable bed. A big bathroom,although the shower head would be better on the wall as a little tricky to shower with as its a hand held nozzle only. The huge bath was a little slippery to climb in as the shower was in the bath. We managed but the elderly may have problems. The foyer was very inviting and that glass staircase is just beautiful. Overall a great hotel that I recommend highly.

Lovely hotel in a good location. The breakfast was nice but simple and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a good size and kept clean.

Nice hotel in great location.

Site seeing vacation to Sorrento, beautiful city. Hotel is in a great location. Not an upscale hotel but priced great and friendly staff. Would stay there again no problem

Great location

This is a good hotel in a great location at a very reasonable price. Staff are very friendly and hotel is very clean. Rooms have everything you need. Hotel is near lovely bars, restaurants, shops. Train and bus station only 5 minutes away as is harbour where the boat to Capri leaves from. We had both rooms on the 3rd floor and enjoyed relaxing on the terrace next to our rooms. There's also a roof terrace with a view of the sea and vesuvius. You wont be disappointed if you stay here

When we checked in girl was new and she said she booked us into wrong room & had to move us I think cuz price we paid....I had to talk to owner concerning rate....if she made a mistake we should not have to be moved due to her error we were only there one night.

Great location on small side street. Easy walk to all shopping, restaurants, train station, and the marina. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast buffet. Small hotel with spacious rooms.

Great Hotel, Great Location!

Very helpful staff! They suggested a great restaurant and made reservations for us as well. The room was very clean as was the bathroom. Great price for the location!
