This was an unexpected good stay. The rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable. Breakfast offered plenty of options. We particularly enjoyed being able to walk around the hotel and experience the variety of local eateries. The only mildly irritating issue was parking - spots were taken by early evening, and we had to scramble around to fit our small car into a space. Regardless, this will be a hotel we will visit again. Good value for money.

I stayed here for 3 nights and it was a fabulous little place. Location is great for getting to both sides of the falls. The area around it didn’t feel too greats limited restaurants other than burgers and pizza. Shops were very good and close by. Staff were helpful, friendly and lovely. I really enjoyed my time here. A great place to stay when out and about exploring. Highly recommend.

No airport pickup, great in house travel service

The stay got off to a rocky start--no one showed up to pick me up at the airport (I had been in contact with reception about the pick up the day before my arrival, but I never received a solid confirmation). I called the hotel many times from the airport but in transferring me to find someone who spoke Spanish or English, the call was repeatedly dropped (more than 10 times). After a frustrating hour or so at the airport, I was instructed to take a taxi to the hotel. The guy checking me in apologized for the mistake but that was it. Best part of the hotel was the travel agent, who was super nice, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Otherwise the stay was uneventful: room was small but ok, breakfast was standard Brazilian food.

We stayed here because the hotel had a very high rating. It certainly lived up to it's expectation. Everything and everyone were very good. I have to mention the breakfast. We had been on holiday for 4 weeks in Brazil and Argentina and the breakfast here was the best - the quality and standard was superb.

The room was nice, the price was good, and the breakfast was excellent. My only complaint is that, for the first night, we could only get very warm or hot water. The outside temperature was 40°C, so we wanted a cool shower before bed.

perfect 4 night stay

this is a nice priced hotel with an excellent location. Perfect for visiting the falls, Argentina and Paraguay. All within one day if you wish. Has a good tour desk on site. It also has 3 or 4 outside large sized jacuzzis and a pool. The pool bar serves the best capirinhia ’s we’ve had in Brazil. Don’t waste money on Five star hotels for iguazu trip. This hotel would meet most people’s expectations at half the cost. Eing on your doorstep, shops , restaurant s etc.

The picture of the room is exactly what you get. Comfortable bed, clean room, great breakfast included, all front staff speak English and they were so helpful in more ways then I can list and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we need. Pool is also a great spot to relax. Hotel is located in walking distance to a variety of restaurants and lots of shopping. Hotel also has a great set of staff that work the tour desk and were helpful in organizing my tours to the falls, the dam and the 3 boarders meeting.

Nice for a quick stop in Iguazu

Stayed 2 nights in Iguazu. The hotel is in a nice location and convenient to have a good and honest currency exchange (cambio) across the road. We had to catch an early flight so it was good that the hotel is about 20-25 minutes away from the airport (Brazil) side. Staff are friendly and nice decent breakfast.

This is a simple and friendly hotel, perfectly located for a trip to Iguazu! It's not flashy but it's clean and the staff are friendly. The breakfast buffet was good, and we enjoyed the location of the hotel to walk around the town. I would stay here again! The wifi worked, the shower was warm, the beds were clean and it was comfortable enough!

Comfort at the price of budget

An incredible option for visiting the falls in Brazil! The breakfast buffet is incredibly diverse and extensive. The wifi connection is the best I've experienced in the 5 countries and 10 cities of my South American trip. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the bus station that can easily take you to the falls and the airport. There are loads of restaurants and markets within walking distance. There is a tour agency in the lobby. My God, they even have fruit infused water in the lobby. Need I say more?

Very nice hotel in a great location

The Aguas do Iguacu hotel is a nice hotel, in a great location. Is only 5 minutes walk to the Urban Bus Station and the bus stop to Argentina. All the areas of the hotel were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good with a big variety. The hotel is in the one end of the shopping street, with bars and restaurants just next to it.
I recommend this hotel to everyone.

It was a great place to stay! Mid Price Hotel offering excellent value

This hotel is in the centre of Foz de Iguaçu and though it only offers breakfast there are many good restaurants and street cafes nearby for lunch and dinner The hotel is near the centre of town and has a sub-office of one of the local tour companies within it so booking a trip to the Iguassu Falls and the Bird Park is very easy.

Clean Well maintained w great breakfast

Very clean and well maintained hotel that is only 2.5 blocks fr the central bus stop thats easy to walk. Easy to take the loco bus to and fr the Airport and the Brazil side of the falls.
Hotel had the best quality breakfast selection of the 5 hotels we stayed at in this catagory while in Brazil.
AC with a remote is a nice touch.
Would recommend this hotel and stay here again.

Good budget hotel

The hotel is good for the budget traveller going to the Iguacu Falls. The whole area near the hotel seems to be a bit older - not run down exactly but just older in general, so the decor and the buildings reflect that.

The greatest part about the hotel is the Wifi, followed by the free breakfast. The location is also a plus since it's very close (5 mins walk) to the bus terminal (TTU). This is great for accessing either the Brazil side of the falls (take the 120 bus), the Foz do Iguacu Airport (also the 120) or the Argentinian side of the falls (via the international bus that stops outside the TTU). There are many bars and small restaurants on the street so you can go eat, but aside from that, there's really not much to do.

Big down side of the hotel was that my electric adapter was too big to fit into the socket. I found this applied most places but at the hotel in Rio or Sao Paulo, there was at least one plug that I could use. I ended up having to go down to the lobby to charge my devices.

The other big down side was the smell. When I first entered the room, there was a distinct odor in the room, which I had found out was sewage, coming from the shower drain. I closed the bathroom door and left the ventilator on to get rid of the smell. It was okay after that, but I guess that's rural Brazil for you...

All in all, a generally okay stay. Super good value for the money though.

Very good stay. We were extremely pleased with the value of this hotel. This hotel offers a very good combination of price and quality. The exterior appearance of the hotel is not the most attractive, but the hotel and our rooms were in very good and clean conditions. The hotel flooring is all tiles (no carpeting), which helps keep the temperatures lower and it is a great feature for those who suffer from allergies. Air conditioning worked well in the rooms and other areas of the hotel. The breakfast, which was included, was rather extensive. Our family left the hotel very well fed every morning for our daily sightseeing. A free shuttle picked us up at the airport (had to call in advance). I would definitely stay at this property again and I recommend to anyone.

Great little Hotel!

This hotel was really well positioned, just round the corner from the bus station. Senior citizens travel free on local buses. It is very easy to get to the falls Brazilian side by bus and Argentinian side by Brazilian taxi, book return it is cheaper.

Great hotel for the price

No frills. It's decorated well--soothing white and nice prints on the walls. The hallways are tiled and so are the rooms, so the whole thing echoes like crazy. Not bad during slow season, but it could get pretty loud, I imagine. I swear I could hear the woman in the room next to me cough and clear her throat, but overall the other people were quiet. Breakfast is on the second floor--that whole floor is probably noisy. The side closest to Av. Republica Argentina has some street noise and a blinking billboard all night long. There was a dark hair in the shower that was not mine. The staff was very nice (probably the best part), the tourist agency on the ground floor was very helpful (although not always open during stated hours). There's no business center, but they do have computers in the lobby, although they charge. The wifi was on and off while I was there. The hotel is on a nice, tree-lined street, with lots of shops and restaurants and even a little fair nearby. Hokila for Chinese food was pretty good, and Super Muffato up the street from the bus station was great. The bus station is nearby and really convenient. Good location, perfectly adequate hotel.

Perfect!
We got here during a thunderstorm and the hotel was like a haven! They were able to check us in a few hours early and we were so thankful to be there.
Shower was excellent, bed was comfy with great pillows and the staff we so friendly and spoke great English (very lucky as our Portuguese is non existent!).
The breakfast was vast and excellent. I could've stayed there eating for hours!
We caught the local bus to and from the falls which was fine. The trip took a while but the bus stop was only a block or two away and it was easy.
Loads of shops, restaurants and banks around the hotel.
We'd come from Puerto Iguazu in Argentina and for about the same price this hotel was a million times better than the one we'd come from.
Would definitely recommend this place!

Let's face it: you don't come here for the hotel - it's all about the falls. It wasn't the best of places to spend 2 nights but the experience more than made up for the hotel's shortcomings. The bonus was a tour company in Reception which organises everything you might want to do without fuss and at terrific prices.
GO THERE but perp choose a different hotel.

Not as wheelchair friendly as claimed

The hotel claims to have facilities for disabled guests and it does have an elevator and a stair lift for the flight of stairs from lobby up to the elevator but it could, without too much effort, do a lot more to make the hotel a lot more friendly for wheelchair users.

To start with there are two steps required to get into the lobby and it would be trivial to provide a ramp for those then to avoid the need to transfer from wheelchair to stair lift they could also provide another ramp for the lobby side door (2steps) and a paved path through the car park (currently loose gravel) to the swimming pool entrance and the hotels back door which would then give wheelchair access to all areas.

The swimming pool has no steps or rails for access, just an underwater bench at one end so it was very difficult for my wife to exit the pool even with assistance from another guest.

Our ground floor room did not have any modifications for handicapped users but was spacious and comfortable but the room view was of a concrete wall.

The outstanding positive feature of the hotel was the breakfast buffet, many higher priced hotels could learn lessons here on how to present a buffet though I was surprised by the absence of a toaster (only a panini press). I especially liked the range of cheeses served from the cheese wheels.

They provide complimentary airport pick up, provide water n coffee in lobby , near bus station,n have cheap restaurants nearby.
Not so pleasing is lobby has no air cond, gave us a room with 3 single beds when we were travelling as a couple.

Nice hotel in the heart of the city, within walking distance from the bus terminal where you get the buses to the falls and to the Itaupu Dam. Very good buffet breakfast. Near by many little reaturants.

Great breakfast at Hotel Foz do Iguacu

The hotel was spotlessly clean and the room I had had a large screen TV and fridge. The bathroom looked new. The room looked a little old fashioned, e.g. in design and the pictures. The room was air conditioned. There were no tea or coffee making facilities. Wi fi was free. Breakfast was good. There was a very good buffet selection attractively presented in a cheerful breakfast room. The staff were helpful and friendly. Considering I got a deal for £49 fir two nights, i thought it was very good value for money.

I never write hotel reviews, but I had an absolutely fabulous time staying the weekend at this hotel. It is conveniently located near the city center, the bus station, and many restaurants. The staff are fantastic and so kind. The breakfast was huge, and offered everything you could imagine. The room was simple but very clean, as was the pool area. I would stay here again without hesitation! This was the best hotel I stayed at during my six week travels around Brazil.

Overpriced hotel in retail neighborhood.

The high point was that the staff was helpful in giving information about visiting the falls and printing documents. However, the hotel is in a block of low end clothing stores, pharmacies and fast food joints. The interior is quiet and appears clean but I found built up grime on door handles. Security is an issue as windows don't lock and the room safe is a metal box that you can lock with a keyed lock from the front desk.

The hotel is nice and clean, close to a major bus terminal. You can take buses from there to the airport, the falls, and Argentina. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and some of them bilingual. The room is pretty basic but very clean and the beds are comfortable. The buffet breakfast is really good. It's a very decent hotel for the price.

Thoroughly impressed by Aguas

For the price (low in GBP terms) I couldn't fault this place. Good location, modern rooms with plenty of space, comfortable bed, bathroom clean and modern, breakfast was a good Brazilian buffet, free wifi.

If you're going to the falls, for the Brazilian side, the bus station is just around the corner and costs only a few BRL and takes 40mins. A bargain.

That said, there is an information booth in the hotel reception should you wish to book tours etc. reception do speak English.

Number 1 BREAKFAST. The most amazing breakfast variety I have seen in all of my 6 week trip to South America. Compared much better than the other more expensive 4 star hotels of our trip. Well done!. A great start for our trip to the Falls.
Room was not fancy but comfortable. Bed was comfortable.
Great sitting area in lobby. Couches and a large sceen tv.
Pool looked ok but didnt use it.
Close to main bus station to get to Falls. Next to bus station is a very big supermarket. More a department store.
Staff were friendly and polite.

We were picked up at the airport late at night, despite a four hour delay. This was part of the package of staying here. All staff were helpful, kind and gave us good advice about how to get around in the city. The room was quiet and the air conditioning was appreciated. The complimentary cold water and strong coffee in the lobby was a treat. This hotel is close to the bus terminal for ease of transportation to the falls, and for getting around the core of the city.

This hotel was exactly what was expected from the descriptions of it and I generally concur with what other reviewers say. It is a very pleasant place to stay for a short visit to Iguacu Falls and in my opinion represents excellent value for the cost. The hotel front desk staff is excellent, speak good English and were cheerfully very helpful. The location is in the rather unremarkable downtown area of Foz do Iguacu so when we arrived on a very quiet Sunday afternoon, it felt like we were in an abandoned movie set. However, there were a few reasonable eating places nearby which was all we needed. The bus terminal for trips to the falls is an easy three block walk away so getting to and from the falls was very easy. The breakfast buffet was very good with all the usual choices for hotel breakfast buffets in this part of the world - lots to eat if you are not too fussy!

Not a 5 Star hotel, but i did not pay for 5 stars. The Aguas do Iguacu is fantastic, its location is in the heart of town, the room spacious, clean with large en suite facilities. the staff very friendly, even let me check in at 10am, and the trip rep in reception, very helpful and sorted trips to both sides of the falls. A fantastic good value hotel.

Economical and practical

This was pretty good deal for the Falls. It's close to a number of good restaurants, including Maria y Marias and a great Chinese place. It's better than staying closer to the airport/park because you have stuff to do (it's in the city center). The staff was nice, but not really helpful in giving details about how to get to the Falls and the Bird Park. There is a local bus (#120) that you can take to both locations.

Basic hotel, fantastic location and good breakfast

fantastic local minutes from a great supermaket and the bus station to and from Brazil and Argentina falls. 20 mins walk from shopping court with a range of option in food court and international shops.
Great location.
Room very basic but also very clean.
Room was cold and the extra blankets in the cupboard were needed.
breakfast was simple but delicious and enough to keep us gong all day.

very good place to stay in Iguaçu!

Arrived almost at midnight to Iguaçu, but were picked up by Loumar Tourism van which was prearranged via internet. I believe to have the tour company in the hotel grounds was one of the best assets of the place. Hotel is clean, space is not an issue, and basically well equipped. Bathroom was clean and the room was comfortable. You will not spend much time in the hotel but overall is a good place to come back after an extensive day in the park. Breakfast is provided (which I did not see it being detailed in Hotels.com website, but definitely a plus!) And is very diverse ... wifi internet is available and fast.
Overall a very good place to stay ...

Nice Clean and Cheap Hotel in the Falls

very clean and centrally located. The only limitation is the lack of decent restaurants around the hotel. Waterfall are incredible Itapu is also beautiful. Do the full tour.

Great value in Foz do Iguacu, Brazil

Our family of three spent three nights at this hotel in order to visit the Iguacu Falls from both the Brazil and Argentina sides. We were coming from Rio de Janeiro and decided to stay in the town (as opposed to in either park) so we could have access to restaurants and travel to the Argentine side. The hotel is well located near the bus terminal, restaurants, and shops. We spent one day at the Brazil side and the Parque das Aves (Bird Park), and the second day we went to the Argentina side. We took the city bus out to the Brazil park, and the hotel helped us arrange transportation to the Argentina park. The hotel also provides a very good breakfast buffet, and the staff at the front desk spoke English and were very pleasant and helpful. There is also a tour guide service in the hotel lobby, but we did not happen to use them. For the price, we thought this hotel was definitely a winner.

Extremelly convenient, comfortable & has the best breakfast in the world! Very nice service, free wi-fi, free coffee in the lobby, bus station just around the corner. Also has a tourist agency on the ground floor for the less independent travellers. A fantastic restaurant: Buffallo Branco 5min away. Can't fault the place. Excellent!

Hotel well located at a walking distance from the bus station and supermarket. There is a travael agency located at the reception which makes your life easier in order to visit the waterfalls either on the Brasilian or the Argentinian side. Excellent and copious breakfast. Staff can speak English. We were very satisfied of our stay.

Memorable Stay

Three of us stayed there so it was perfect to have three single beds in the room. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and spoke excellent english. Although we did not use the pool, it looked very clean. The breakfast buffet had a lot of choice and the food was very good. The presence of the tour company in the same hotel was excellent.

The hotel was very well situated near shopping and a variety of restaurants and it was in a safe neighbourhood. We would definitely go back to it and recommend it to friends and family.

Great location ... even better service!

The hotel is in a great location and the room was very clean and spacious. Breakfast was great and provided many options, including several large wheels of cheese! The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke great English ... they even assisted us to book a bus trip to Buenos Aires after having issues with the internet. The outdoor pool was great to cool off after a long day of walking at the Iguazu Falls.

Foz do Iguacu, a must see

The Hotel is older but well maintained and has up dates. Great value and the continental breakfast was probably one of the best we had. The location is close to lots of eating places as well as clubs. It is a little distance from the falls but the travel agency in the hotel can arrange for tours and transportation. The bus, which costs about 2.00 can take you almost any where and runs every 45 minutes. The falls are definitely a must see and the excursions there are topnotch. The Bird Park is great and should not be missed. This was the final days of our vacation and we should have had more time. If you have the time a visit to the Argentina side would be great, but you need a Visa to visit. The Visa can be received in 2 days or applied for previously. We'll be back!

Good for the price

The staff was really nice and did there best to see that you're satisfied. The price was quite reasonable and the neighbourhood calm. The hotel is smack-dabbed in the center of lots of pharmacies, cambios, restaurants, and shopping stores. With the bus terminal only a few blocks away, everything you need is right outside which is really nice. The only downsides were: the rooms felt quite old; there was a really nice view of a broken down wall from the room I stayed in (no actual view); the air conditioning took a while to correctly cool the room; the food was just okay; and not to mention the room safe was just big enough to store small documents - things like laptops, you'd best bring around with you or risk leaving it out in the open in your room. Overall, it was still a good stay because of the friendly staff and nice location; all at a good price.

staff very helpful; 1st floor too loud; 4th floor great; would like more pillows; easy access to food and transportation; close bus station to anywhere (50 min to Falls, $R2.90 per person), Taxi about 20 minutes to Falls and Bird Park ($R45 each way) Taxi to Argentina (45 minutes, $R130 to Argentina side - well worth the money b/c they help with customs and money exchange). Loumar Tourismo company in lobby was extremely helpful and honest. Free drinkable water and strong Brazilian coffee in lobby 24/7. Some staff speaks English, some don't. Room minibar fairly cheap. The BEST free breakfast with tons and tons of great food. USA continental breakfast is lame compared to this. They don't serve any other meals in the hotel.
