Diego on the front desk was amazing help with early check after long flights from the UK.
Dominique at roof top was good fun and very good service. The roof top area is very nice.

Firstly, the staff are amazing and super nice. Everything was great about the room itself except that there were quite a few ants crawling around and I had to use scented oils to keep them at bay while I was sleeping at night, otherwise they would bite me. The breakfast buffet was really good and the location of the hotel is also very convenient.

4 Star Hotel with 5 Star Service

Stayed here for two nights to explore the Iguazu Falls. The hotel is a good location as a base with restaurants, shopping and s grocery store all nearby.

The outstanding thing about this property is the staff. The went above and beyond to assist us and make sure we had a good stay. They even made phone calls on our behalf in Portuguese after our visa card was cancelled until they could get an English speaking representative.

The hotel itself is good, clean and well maintained. Beds and pillows were comfortable and the room was clean. There is a nice rooftop pool which was also clean.

OK Hotel, could be better.

We checked in at 5 am, because we wanted to make a quick stop because we still had a 6 hours drive before getting back home. We just wanted to sleep for a few hours. I had stayed in this same hotel 7 years ago, back then it looked much nicer, they haven’t really upgraded the rooms, the were remodeling the lobby when we were there and I remember the breakfast being a lot better last time. I was hoping that they let up do a late check out at 1pm but they didn’t. If I need to say the night in Foz de Iguazu again, I will not be choosing this hotel when there are so many that I think are much better.

Decent hotel to stay and visit Iguassu falls. Rooms were clean and they have a decent breakfast selection. Pros: Price, staff, room cleanliness and breakfast. Cons: We had a triple room but the size of the room was really small. We had three beds but no space to keep three bags (not big ones) and move around. We kept the bags between beds and managed. Our friends booked a similar room and their room was bigger. So, do check the room at check-in. We stayed in room 104 or 105 and the other room was in 4th floor. Other issue with ground floor was the hallway noise. Rooms 100s are between the reception and elevator - so there is a constant noise until 11pm or midnight.

The check-in was quick, the room was good and clean. Good showers. Great breakfast. The hotel arranged for early breakfast on the day of departure since our flight was quite early. It is much appreciated!
There is a super market nearby if you need something.
The only thing that could have made the stay better is if the room size was slightly bigger.
But the hotel is good value for money and I would happily recommend to others.

The hotel was in a good location with a little shop for snacks right next door. They were great with recommendations and a local restaurant they sent us to was great for both food and atmosphere! They even helped us get a taxi to go shopping in Paraguay and more importantly, to bring us back! Nice roof top area and bartender made a great Caipirinha! You go to this city to see the Falls so you don't need fancy frills to keep you at the hotel all day, but if you wanted a day to relax by the pool, you could do that too. I would stay at this place again.

I stayed for 5 night in Del Rey. I came for visit form the States. the hotel overall is good, very clean,and the breakfast was very good as well. However, the room doesn't have enough space. We(my parents and I) stayed in one room and this was the worst decision. The room lighting were really bad and dim.

Pool bar on roof top is perfect to chill and night view of the city.
Brazilian BBQ nearby the hotel is cheap and traditional with good quality.

Definitely recommend

The staff at El Rey is one of the best we have come across in Brazil. Reception is always smiling and welcoming, you are always greeted as you cross paths with any staff and the same at breakfast they are even humming and singing happy doing their job. Really nice feeling.
The hotel is clean, rooms are spacious and plenty of choice for breakfast. The central bus station is 2 blocks from the hotel, where you can catch a bus to all the attractions. Also close to supermarket and the town centre. Even a bus stops 30 meters that will take you to the airport. Room service is done every day, but your sheets are not changed and you have the option to keep the same towels.
Definitely would recommend this hotel. Great value for the price.

There are more pros than cons.
To keep it short here it is:
Pros:
- Cheap
- Good location
- Bus to the falls/airport across the motel (bus 120 and bus national park, 6.20 br.)
- Excellent breakfast buffet, lots of variety.
- Rooms are basic but clean.
- English speaking helpful front desk.
- Decent restaurants around the motel.
- Good fast fairly priced laundry service.
Cons:
- Very slow internet in the room (much faster in the breakfast restaurant and lobby)
- You can have a good night sleep only from about 11pm to 6 am, unfortunately the walls and doors are not insulated ,when any body walks talks on the hallway you would think they're in your room.
Conclusion:
If you can function with 7hr of sleep this is the best bang for your $

The location is perfect. It's one block away from the bus terminal - buses to Iguacu and airport, Italpu dam; OR international buses to Argentina and Paraguay opposite the bus terminal. There is even a bus stop right opposite the hotel (20meters) for the route to Iguacu and airport. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The room and facilities and in good condition and clean. The buffet breakfast offers a good range of food, especially the breads, cakes and fruits. Overall, it's a perfect experience. It's good value for the money and I would highly recommend it to any traveller!

Super conveniently located, walking distance to buses, major grocery store, shops and restaurants. Rooms cozy but functional and comfortable. Staff notable for being friendly and helpful. I used the on-site guides for my Iguazu trip and everything went great, it was truly lifetime highlight. If I come again, I'll stay here again.

The Del Rey is a solid hotel, with a great, English-speaking staff. It is about a R$50 cab ride from the airport.

Room: I had a room with a double and a twin (US$32/night). There is a fridge and a little table with two chairs to set up your goods. The AC and TV worked well. The shower was a decent size, but leaked a little (couldn't tell where it was coming from). The room was very clean and the staff kept it clean during my stay.

Breakfast/Amenities: The breakfast options are plentiful (juices, breads, meats, coffee, fruits, etc.) and the food quality was sufficient, but not overwhelming. The pool is not huge, but great for a dip, plus there is a bar. The staff will hold your bags before check-in/after check-out and there is a tourism agent right on site.

The neighborhood seemed safe and was a short walk from many shops/restaurants and a large supermarket.

I would recommend a stay here

This hotel is great. We stayed for two nights and our room was very clean, nice bathroom, very good breakfast (lots of choices) and friendly staff. It is a short trip away from the falls (maybe 15 minutes b car). you can also hire some tours from the hotel. I will stay here again!

Convenient to Falls

Hotel is located close to bus transit to Falls. Also has a tour company in the hotel, so it is easy to access and get picked up and dropped off. We used tour company to go to Argentina side, which we felt was easier than going through customs twice on our own. The hotel allowed us to leave our luggage there until the end of the day, so we could go to the Brazil side of the Falls and then catch our plane.

Great price and location!

Great location! Stayed here for a solo trip to the falls. Travel agency inside picked me up at 2am from airport for 50 BRL - can would have been same price but it was nice to come in late and know I wouldn't have to worry about a ride. They were also great about giving me instructions on how to get to the falls via bus (2 blocks away is the bus station and for less than 4BRL you can get there in 45 min - definitely worth doing it this way in my opinion). Agency also had a few different Brazil Falls tours being offered but I declined. Wish I would have done the Argentina side tour with them as I found doing it on my own more difficult as I had to change currency to Pesos, catch 2 different buses to get there, etc - their all inclusive flat rate was much better in hindsight (and cheaper than what I spent).

Hotel itself was perfect location and a great price! I did have a room RIGHT outside the elevator so it did get a little loud but earplugs helped. Breakfast was good selection and having it included was a bonus! Would definitely stay here again if I'm ever in town.

The hotel is centrally located, just three minutes walk from the bus station (very convenient). All the hotel staff were professional and courteous and were able to provide very helpful information. Our room was small but was VERY clean and the bed was comfortable. The free breakfast was a buffet and was decent to good. And best of all, the price was right. I would consider staying here and commute to the Argentine side.

There is a good travel agent service in the hotel.
Trips to the iguacu falls on the Brazilian and Argentinian side are a must. They are amazing and the short boat trip awesome. We also had a shopping trip to Cuidad Del Este in Paraguay and took a taxi to see further afield on the Paraguayan side. They sort all passport issues for you.

The breakfast was very good
There are nearby bars and a superb restaurant. The centre is also nearby with shops and cafes and restaurants for all needs
we were pleased with the choice.

Staff speaks good English, willing to help. Provided good guidance and recommendation on sightseeing and transportation.
Room is spacious and clean, free wifi is stable with good signals.
Decent selection for breakfast.
Taxi driver all know about the hotel, saved us the hassle from explaining the location with the driver (since we don't speak their language)
Location is awesome, we walked less than 10mins, to reach the international bus terminal.

I would stay at this hotel again. It is close to the main bus terminal which you can take to the Falls or Dam. The service was great. They help me with which bus to get around. I ordered a pizza and let me warm it up in their kitchen. If you order pizza remember \"molho de tomate\", that's pizza sause. Our pizza never came with it. There is a pool at the top, it is nice but small.

The staff was helpful and the room was clean. The location was great... I found a number of fun places nearby to eat and drink. The concierge was helpful with booking tours. The room itself was a little cramped and claustrophobic. I ended up extending my trip and staying in the nearby Hostel Katharina which was awesome!

Perfect for a stopover

This place definitely isn't fancy or anything. Our flight was arriving pretty late and we just needed a comfortable night's rest before heading out early the following morning. It has very basic amenities but did the job. It seems a lot of tour companies tend to use this hotel as well.

For what you get this place is very good value - clean, efficient and a great breakfast. The hotel organised us a tour to the Argentinian and Brazilian sides of the falls - v good. The hotel isn't flash but if you are staying here, you will, invariably, be out all day and the hotel is more than sufficient. Fab churrassicia nearby.

Fabulous Hotel

This was the best place we stayed in South America, not only was everything from the bed (not too hard like everywhere else), room size and amenities (yes it had a built in hairdryer) and a pool and bar on the top floor; but it was incredibly good value as far as the price. We wished we had stayed an extra night just to enjoy the pool and not to mention the breakfast was too die for. Really exceptional!

Two Star Hotel Masquerading as Three Star

This hotel seems to have put a lot of effort and money into making their lobby and restaurant nice, but not much into the rooms. When you see the hotel from the street it looks amazing, but the room (our room at least) was cramped, dingy and barely functional. The night of our arrival my wife tried to shower, but there was no hot water. The man at the front desk came and fixed it (tracking dirt all over the bathroom in the process) but when I showered the next morning it was broken again. The walls are paper thin so you hear everything going on in the lobby and hallway (and games room if you're unfortunate to be near that as we were). And rest assured, if anyone flushes a toilet anywhere in the hotel, you will know about it. If not by the sound itself, by the noise of water rushing through your walls.

The breakfast was nice, but nothing better than what we had elsewhere in Brazil.

Everything was fine except the bathroom never had hot water. Hotel lost all water one night, but had it repaired by next morning. On check-in, the clerk was not forthcoming with information on where and when to catch the bus to the falls the next morning and kept pushing us to see the travel agency in the hotel the next morning. Other hotel employees were more forthcoming with this information. Overall, a good place to stay.

Good value for money

Friendly and efficient staff - even laid out breakfast for us at 4:15am! Facilities are as you expect for the star rating - we are not talking a luxury hotel, but it is a good choice if you need a budget place to stay to visit the brazilian side of the falls.

Poor Sleep and Poor Shower

Overall, it was a bad hotel experience. Our shower and sink had no hot water. Other rooms had little warm water in the shower that would only work at low flow. The bed was too firm and uncomfortable. There were very loud birds squawking right outside the window at night and in the early morning. The hotel added charges for phone calls made from the front desk to set up the next part of our trip within Brazil to our bill without any warning that they were not free and added taxes, which Expedia had listed as included in the price already paid. We had to speak with a manager to get them to remove the charges. We would not go back there again.

ok to stay for 1 night

the Hotel is ok but you might find different options for much less and same kind of location and amenities.. the information is not always accurate that you get on the reception desk.. the Iguassu falls park is open till 7pm and the boat ride in the falls is open till 5pm but the ride is very expensive(140 reals per person).. the boat ride is not really worth it.. take the trail instead and you ll see grt view of the falls. the bus terminal is very near to the hotel and it takes 25 min to go to falls and also to Itaipu dam. the bus ticket is 2.65 reals one way. taxi is very expensive 50reals one way.. the place is very touristy and expensive.. we had grt barbeque buffet at the restaurant called gaucho.. very cheap and very tasty with lot of options...

Average hotel for average price

We've been in the hotel for 2 nights to be able to visit the falls from both Argentinian and Brazilian sides. The hotel is what you get for what you pay. I would say better service and better breakfast than an Ibis hotel. So overall we had what we expected, a place to crash while visiting the falls around.
The downfalls are :
1) the hotel looks like it is currently under refurbishment (at least I hope so) so some places are missing tiles on the floor, some place look unfinished
2) don't expect to have a great view outside your window, this is just a stop by hotel to be able to visit the amazing falls
3) don't use the tourist service they are offering, they are charging more than the normal fee. we went on the same tour with the same guide than other guys from the bamboo hostel and the guys paid 20R$ less than us per person.

Very close to the bus terminal, okay hotel

This was a simple hotel but serviced the purpose (really who wants to spend too much time at the hotel when the falls arewaiting to be visited). It is situated about a block from the main bus terminal so getting to the airport, the Brazilian and the Argintinean side of the Falls and to Paraguay is just a few minutes walk and a few dollars.

The wifi is not free (the description says available in the hotel rooms etc, just forgot to mention that you need to pay for it) which was very frustrating as this is pretty standard in South America, including countries like Bolivia and Peru!

Breakfast is big, esp if you like sausages, ham and cake!! But there are healthy options too. Love that I could make a hot chocolate to have with breakfast

Great experience

Hotel Del Rey exceeded my expectations.

The hotel was within a few blocks of the bus terminal, a bus stop, a super market, pharmacy, and several restaurants. Streets in the area were clean and safe.

It was easy to get to both the Brazilian (about 30 min.) and Argentinian (about 60 min.) sides of Iguaçu Falls by bus. (Don't miss the Bird Park across from the entrance to the Brazilian falls.)

My room was spotless.

The breakfast (which came with the hotel stay) had a wide variety of excellent foods and for a additional reasonable price, one could enjoy an excellent dinner buffet in the dining room.

My only complaint was that I thought the price of using their internet service was high (compared to other places I stayed in Brazil) but they kindly directed me to a place a block away where I could use a computer for less than half of their price.

The staff was pleasant and helpful.

When I left, they allowed me to pay part of the bill with pesos left over from my day in Argentina.

I would definitely return to the Del Rey on my next trip.

Would go back again.

Very pleasant experience at this hotel - great front desk service which really makes a difference when you arrive late at night. We spent two nights. Never found the new pool but didn´t have much time for it anyway. My daughter and uncle (senior) were both happy. However, given the lack of elevator service, this might not be a hotel for everyone but we were just one floor up and travel light. Breakfast buffet was great and there was a great restaurant down the street - Buffalo Branco. Hotel gave discount cards for restuarants and bird park. Tour service in hotel was okay but was not clear enough about documents required for visit to Argentine side. Recommend this one.

Great Spot if Traveling to Iguazu

Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to travel to Iguazu Falls. Able to book a tour to either Brazil or Argentina side of the Falls, with a van picking you up at the hotel. Hotel was recently remodeled, so bathrooms are new and have big, nice showers. Close to great BBQ place, Buffalo Blanca, and bakery and grocery store so you can pack a lunch for a day at the Falls. Friendly, helpful staff spoke English well. Close to Paraguay if you want to cross the border to get cheap goods. If I ever go back to Foz, will definitely stay at Del Rey.

Pretty ideal hotel for a backbacker

Being my first stop in Brazil, i dont know how this compares to other places, but i know how it compares to places i stayed in Argentina and Uruguay. It's awesome!

Located near the bus station, it's incredibly convenient. Clean, nice, and comfortable, the hotel is a touch spartan, but i dont look for a lot in budget hotel accomodations. Everything i wanted was in this hotel. Air con, wifi, great staff, and a convenient location. Service was above and beyond, very friendly, stored my bag for me, and with a late evening flight, they let me come back and shower and change. Provided towels, soap, and everything!

Best thing though? The breakfast! Oh man - it was a buffet of epic proportion. Fresh fruit, fresh juice, cereals, baked goods, hot foods, cold foods, everything one could want. Included in the low (and im starting to realize how low based on the prices in Brasil) low price.

Only minor complaints - lift wasnt working at the time, but it's only 4 stories so no big deal. And you have to pay for wifi - at the cost of R$5 per day, it was very affordable so once again, no complaints.

Loved this hotel. Wouldve stayed longer if i didnt already have a flight booked.

Exellent value hotel

The Del Rey appears to be a little away from the main part of Foz de Iguacu but actually the location is great for getting to and from the falls. The hotel is clean with good service. It is an excellent value is price is important to you. There is an excellent Brazilian restaurant within a short distance and access to the falls by taxi is reasonable. I don't recommend signing up for a tour at the hotel. Their pricing is higher than you need to pay. Walk down the street and take a taxi. Should be about $36 Reals to the Brazil side of the falls and $130 Reals (round trip) to the Argentina side.

Perfect for visiting Iguazu Falls

Great hotel for visiting Iguazu Falls from both the Brazil and Argentina sides. The only thing is that the hotel does not have an elevator. So, stay away if you cannot or prefer not using stairs.

Great bargain for the money

My first impression of this hotel was not great, arriving at 1 am. But the check-in staff was very helpful and got me right into my room (321). The room was small but I wasn't in it much and it had most things I needed. I asked for and received a third pillow. The room safe was a few $s a day, same for the internet but both worked well and were easy to setup and use. The breakfast was great every day. The only downside was the lack of hot water. The shower was just warm (maybe 85F temperature) and the sink has only cold water for shaving. Other than that, the place was great, the staff super and helped me with my Portuguese, and it was very clean and conveniently located by the bus terminal. For the money, I don't think it can be beat. If you're on a budget like me and just want a nice clean basic room with good breakfast and good service, stay here. The onsite travel desk people were super helpful educating me on how to get to everything I wanted to see. If you're like me, a traveler who has never been to Foz do Iguacu and want a great first experience, definitely stay here. Thanks Hotel Del Ray!
