Great and Quiet Centrally-Located Hotel

This is the second time I've stayed at Urban Alley, and it was just as great as the first time. I really like that it's in a quiet but nice alley off a major road. It's easy walking distance to Hoan Kiem Lake as well as many great restaurants and cafes. The breakfast was super tasty and the staff very kind. Also maybe one of my favorite things about this hotel is the furniture in the room is all solid wood with wood flooring. It feels warm and inviting.

Bath room need attention . The bath curtain has mold. This should be replaced. It is just cost a few dollars. Bath towels are very old and should be replaced. It seem like the owner of the hotel is not doing a good job at keeping the hotel looked attractive for sustaining business for a long time.

Got off to a rough beginning--air conditioner did not work in our room, and they had no other rooms with two beds. However, the staff was very good, found us a room with a good air conditioner and put in an extra bed. It was comfortable enough that we did not change rooms even when they had a standard double-bed room.

The staff were very friendly and professional. The day before we left, they arranged a private car ride for us back to the airport. I don’t know how we would have flagged a taxi down in the street so that was very nice!
The hotel room was very spacious and very clean. It almost looked like a room inside a person’s home. There was plenty of consistent hot water for us for showering, and they provided all the amenities we needed. The hotel is located on a smaller street so it is quiet at night, which is perfect for light sleepers. Another perk is that it’s still walking distance to the center of Old Town where all the stores and restaurants are! Just the perfect location!
Overall, I think this place is a great bargain for those of you who are looking for a place to stay in Hanoi! We will definitely stay here on our next visit to Hanoi!

We're a family of 4 with 2 younger children and we enjoyed the location of this hotel and the breakfast soup PHO (one of the best I've had in vietnam).

Very nice and helpful administration. Ask their recommendation of nearby local restaurant. They will guide you to the right place!!

Good location, yet relatively quiet as in a side street (you'll appreciate this when in Hanoi!). Staff makes an effort. The building is a bit old but we got a big room and had a very comfortable stay. I would stay here again (given what I have seen re other hotels in Hanoi).

I stayed five nights at this hotel, located down a narrow street. The hotel staff were very nice and accommodating. My room on the third floor was large, clean, comfortable and quiet. I had a street view. The double sized bed was comfortable. The air con worked well, as did the wifi and television. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Mini fridge in the room. Breakfast was excellent with a half dozen or more choices.
The hotel is located in the Old Quarter of Hanoi and walkable to the Imperial City, the Ho Chi Minh Masoleum, the main lakes in Hanoi, as well as many other sites. Plenty of restaurants to chose from in the area.
I would definitely stay at this hotel on my next trip to Hanoi.

Service was excellent, as was the location, Our room was fine, on the ninth floor with a balcony overlooking the city. Breakfast made to order was adequate. More on the service. The staff was very friendly and engaging. They gave us early check-in and arranged a private car for a 3 hour tour we wanted (700K VND). A very nice young staff member named Dien accompanied us by taxi to the train station and assisted in converting ticket vouchers to actual train tickets. Superlative service.

Great hotel for the money

Hotel was cheap so wasn’t expecting too much. The room was clean and nice. Shower air con tv and WiFi all worked fine.Guys at front desk very helpful. Organised day trip to Ha long bay with the hotel and taxis to airport all cheaper than using other companies and great service. Wee bit away from the action good 10 minute walk but streets quiet and safe so all good really.

Wonderful Hotel & Great Location - Would Recommend

I don’t understand the negative reviews left by others because the hotel is nice, clean and modern (it looks like it was recently renovated). It was nice to use elevator to get to our room. The room was large, clean and had all necessary amenities - the room was better than rooms offered by many 3-star or even 4-star hotels across North America and Europe. The washroom was clean and spacious. The hotel is located on a small, quiet street within the old quarter - walking distance from many restaurants, markets, and tourist attractions. It is also located about 15 min. walk (or short taxi ride) from the Airport Bus at Hanoi’s main railway station. The hotel’s staff spoke English and was very attentive, helpful and provided us with outstanding service throughout our entire stay. The freshly made plated breakfast included several different choices (both Asian and Western) - we tried few different dishes during our stay and everything was very delicious. The hotel offered us various tour choices - we compared the hotel’s tour prices with tour prices offered by few outside agencies and found out that the hotel’s pricing was very competitive. We will definitely stay in this hotel during our future visits to Hanoi. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

The people there provide a breakfast that will (literally) get you through the day.
The staff are always available.Theycan organise trips and tours for you at the drop of a hat.Its just far enough away from the old quarter.
The rooms are impeccable except maybe the window latches could be mended in a few places ?

Urban Alley Hotel does a great job. The desk staff (Tomas) is extremely friendly and helpful. The other staff are superb as well, and the ladies in the kitchen make an incredible breakfast. Located close to most things in Hanoi. My girlfriend and I had a great time, and enjoyed both trips Tomas signed us up for (Halong Bay and Sapa).

The location is good as it is just 10 minutes away from Hanoi Railway Station but finding the hotel, hidden in a small alley, is a challenge on your arrival. The hotel has excellent map, which you cannot find any at the airport, but go to the travel agents at the lake as they offer much better prices for tours.

The shower has 1 temperature not hot not cold, I was told my room had to be expected before I was allowed to leave. Then when I went to leave this didn't happen instead they tried to charge me again for snacks and drinks. It's clean, it's an ok hotel!

This is actually way better than the first hotel i stayed in Hanoi. no mosquitoes, has elevator, very good quiet location in old quarter located in a quiet street not too far from the cathedral lots of shops and restaurants. Accomodating staffs, very good breakfast included. All these at very reasonable price. Cant complain, couldnt ask for more. No doubt highly recommended.

Dirty room but great staff

I arrived from a late flight and was shown to my room. I pulled back the quilt to find fresh stains/marks and hair in the bed. I then checked the bathroom and found hair in multiple areas, and a sanitary pad in the bin. I alerted staff to the matter, and they were incredibly apologetic and as helpful as possible. I helped them change the covers, pillowcases, and sheet, and I sanitised the bathroom myself, as I was told there were no other rooms available and by this time it was approaching midnight. When I discussed this matter further in the morning, the staff apologised and provided a full refund for the room. All of the staff were very helpful.

I stayed here in December to get a break from hostels and to treat myself to a hotel room. It did not disappoint. I believe I paid around 40AUD for the room per night and it was so worth it. I got offered a cup of tea upon arrival and was made to feel welcome. Then I was shown to the room and it was large and beautiful! In addition to this, it was my birthday and they actually got me something for it which was very sweet as my friends had to go home early. Very happy with my stay at Urban Valley Hotel :)

Convenient Location

This is a family hotel, a bit run down but still relatively clean. More of a B&B than a hotel. Air-conditioner was dripping on our first night but when we came back from Halong Bay and switched rooms, the airconditioner worked just fine.

There are no blankets/comforters on the beds but you just have to get them from the wardrobes. These are sealed up in bags and looked laundered but somehow still had old stains on them.

Staff was really friendly and helpful. Most had an adequate grasp of English; a couple of them had actually studied in Singapore! They were always smiling amd trusting - they didn't even request for us to pay for our arranged transport from the airport to the hotel until our last day when we checked out, even though we had checked out in-between for a night at Halong Bay.

There was always staff around as well, no matter what time we returned, which always made us feel safe & welcomed.

I stayed in two rooms which were very spacious for the price and in good condition. The beds were comfy, the air conditioner cool, the showers fine and I got a good night sleep because of it's quiet location. Some great local places to eat are just around the corner and it's a fairly easy and pleasant walk to the Old Quarter.

Great for the price, quiet location

We used Urban Alley as a base during our time in Hanoi and the surrounding region. We stayed in three different rooms during this time. The rooms were all different, but all quite large and good for what you are paying. They can use some maintenance, especially the washrooms (all shower tubs which were not sealed along the edges so the floor got really wet). Wifi worked well in all the rooms, and the A/C was great in 2 out of 3 rooms (one of the units needed the filter to be replaced as it was emitting quite a foul smell). The staff were helpful and nice, and the \"quiet\" location was nice to come back to after a day exploring busy Hanoi. Some great restaurants on the same street, and a short 5-10 minute walk to the old quarter.

Quiet hotel

We used the Urban Valley as our base while in Hanoi and the surrounding region, which allowed us to stay in three different rooms. The rooms are outdated and can use some maintenance, but they are quiet large. One of the Air Conditioning units was emitting a foul smell, which the staff said would be fixed.

The street is quiet, which was great after walking around busy Hanoi. The staff were helpful. Wifi worked extremely well in two of the rooms. For the price we paid, it was a great deal.

We had a great stay at Urban Alley and probably would have extended it if it hadn't been for the very cold weather. When we first arrived our key snapped in the lock, we were simply moved to another room with no problem. The room was very big, bed was very comfy, the shower was hot, the TV had a good selection of chanels in English which was a massive bonus as the weather was awful outside. The staff were lovely. The breakfast was good. The only negative is that the room was cold as the windows didn't seal properly when shut but this wouldn't normally be a problem it was just so cold in Hanoi when we were there.

お値段が安く、文句は言えませんが、滞在中には色々ありました。部屋の鍵が壊れたり、Wi-Fiがつながらず２日終わったり、シーツやタオルも綺麗とはいえませんでした。タオルはリクエストをして、やっと小さいタオル。もらいましたが、次の日には持っていかれたまま、くれませんでした。でも、スタッフの感じはいいので、しつこく、リクエストをしてみてもいいかもしれません。3人で宿泊をしたので、3人目のシャワーはぬるま湯から、水に変わるところでした。でも安くて、良いロケーションでした。

다만 호텔 침구가 좀 오래된 느낌이 들어서 아쉬웠습니다. 조식도 괜찮고 서비스도 나름 만족합니다

Disappointing

1st room was disgusting, room hàd not been cleaned for days. We had thé sensation that we had slept in somebôdy else bed. 2nd bedroom was better but this hotel is more suitable for bacpackers than any other people. Very limited breakfast. No water. Ana is good but should be stricter on tidiness. The hotel felt sticky everywhere disappointing option even though location was good. dirty batroom. Dirty balcony to be at a reasonable price does not mean to be a dirty place

ロケーション良い場所です

旧市街地内にあり、ロケーションは良いです。
8Fの部屋でしたがバスタブもあり、ゆったりできました。
朝食はメニュー表から選ぶ形式です。
チェックアウト時にスタッフからキャンディーをいただきました。

la camera che hanno dato a noi non era molto accogliente: il materasso terribilmente duro, ragnatele sul soffitto, lavandino con rubinetto arrugginito, vetri della porta della doccia abbastanza sporchi... la colazione abbastanza deludente ma dipende dai gusti, ci sono a scelta una decina di piatti tra cui fried noodes, fried eggs, boiled eggs... nota positiva il caffè, che loro chiamano black coffee, ha un sapore particolare, nulla a che fare con il solito caffè che si trova in giro per il mondo. nota di merito ai ragazzi che lavorano in reception e sala che comunque sono sempre gentili e disponibili e alla posizione abbastanza strategica nel quartiere vecchio.

직원들이 친절합니다.. 늦게 다니는데 12시 넘어서 들어가도 자다 일어나서 반갑게 맞아주고 그럽니다
1층에 묵었는데 수압도 좋고 청소도 잘해주고 에머니티도 나름 잘되어있습니다.
근처 주변 xofa cafe 걸어서 5분 기찻길도 5분정도 걸리고 하노이역 걸어서 10분 성요셉성당 걸어서 10분 호안끼엠 걸어서 10분 banh mi an 걸어서 6분정도 걸립니다 분보남보 걸어서 10분 정도 걸립니다 퍼짜쭈엔 걸어서 10분 딱적당한 거리에있습니다 강력추천 1월에 하노이 다시갈때 예약 할껍니다 아침에 주는 음식도 맛있어요

Prima prijs/kwaliteit in de oude wijk! Goed aan te lopen naar meer, levendigheid en bezienswaardigheden. Prima hotel als uitvalsbasis naar Halon Bay en Sapa.
