The staff was great and responsive, with great communication and timely service. The room itself was very large and spacious and good enough for our large group. The room definitely showed a bit of wear and tear, but nothing bad for the price. Our bidet didn't work immediately but once we told the desk, they fixed it very quickly.

Location was convenient for calling Grab to most of the more bustling locations, like the Old Quarter. Building has a large convenience store and coffee shop on the ground floor that was pretty convenient.

Cant fault the location, close to Old Quarter but far enough away from the noise. Also in the building were a coffee shop and a small supermarket. We liked the reception area and the slip lane to the drop off area meaning you could easy get in and out of a Grab/taxi without fighting the traffic.
Room was spacious but a little tired especially the carpet which was old/stained.
We liked the barrel of drinking water provided, so much better than individual bottles.
Do try the restaurant and bar on level 4, excellent service and food
We would stay again

I have stayed at this property many times and liked it very much. This last time had a near disaster event. There was very gusty wind in the pool area that blew the apparently very light aluminum chairs all over the area as people tried to get out of the pool area. One chair hit me that caused a big cut in the back of my heel. I had to buy a pair of slippers to travel home. I didn’t know if anyone else was hurt.

My recommendations to the hotel management are 1) better trained staff to maintain safe conditions in the pool including the power to ask guests to get out of the pool area when the conditions are not safe and 2) replace these light aluminum chairs with heavier steel chairs to prevent them from flying in gusty wind.

The property is very clean, and two-bedroom apartment we stayed in was very spacious. There’s a large living room and dining area, and a well equipped kitchen. The staff at the sonerset are second to none. Everyone is so nice and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location in the Old Quarter, easy walking distance to most attractions or close enough to order a Grab if needed. Excellent facilities/space for a family stay, only negative was the smell of sewage from time to time throughout the day that would come from the bathrooms.

Excellent, hospitable Hotel from the get-go. When we arrived, late, frazzled from a delayed flight we were met with a host that provided calm and a warm welcome that we really needed. The following day we soaked up Hanoi and Somerset couldn't be better located. Amazing food stalls, world class coffee and historic sites all within walking distance. A big recommend from all our family, Somerset Hotel was a big reason why we fell in love with Hanoi City, we can't wait to come back!

Location next to Hao Lo Prison and it's walking distance to many things like train street, Hoan Kiem Lake, Ho Chi Minh Mosoleum, Imperial Citadel, temple of literature etc. if you don't mind up to 15minute walk.

You can hear some stret traffic.

Was particularly bad when Vietnam won the ASEAN world cup against Thailand... Obviously good if you wanted to party in the streets with the locals.

Wonderful stay at spacious 2BR serviced apartment in a convenient location in Hanoi. They even had a small birthday cake waiting for me in the refrigerator :-)

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and stored our large luggage for us while we left for an overnight trip to Ha Long Bay.

The beds are comfortable, the views are spectacular, and the apartment is very spacious. Walking distance to Hoan Kiem Lake, Old Quarter, Military Museum, HCM Mausoleum, and tons of restaurants and bars.

Cant wait to stay in Somerset Grand Hanoi again!

This hotel is 30 years old. Very spacious family room with 2 bedrooms, but it is pretty worn out. We stayed on the 10th floor, and we could still hear the loud traffic noises from the streets. Also, there are no frames for the windows. It is extremely dangerous if you have children.

Except for being next to a hospital and the noise and traffic associated with it, it is in a very convenient location with access to many restaurants and Hanoi’s old quarters. Be sure ti ask for a high-level floor to minimize the road noise. Hotel is a bit dated but is still very good with very helpful and courteous staff.

The hotel is amazing for families. The table tennis and pool, and billiards is great for downtime each day. The two for one cocktails by the pool are a must too. Our room was tired with a patchy paint job, and poor natural lighting, otherwise it was perfect. It was super clean - we were very comfortable.

Big rooms with all amenities.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment which had a seperate kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine.

Excellent breakfast with lots of seating. Restaurant also provides great lunch and dinner options.
Great sports bar that showed the AFL and other international sports.

Facilities were excellent - large pool with 2 smaller jacuzzis. Gym, sauna and steam and steam room, plus pool table and kids playground area.

Walking distance to many attractions but also a cheap Grab ride.
A grocery store downstairs plus 2 restaurants, hairdresser, chiropractor and specialty shops.

We stayed here during Typhoin Yagi where we felt safe and well looked after by hotel staff.
We loved our stay and would 100% stay again.

I will not return to this place again in the future. The apartment is so outdated, old. The washer dryer is not user friendly with no instructions available. Have to use hair dryer outside of bathroom, electrical outlets need to be updated for all international users, not just a few countries. I was warned by a local travel agent not to book this place but I prefer a serviced apartment near the area I wanted to visit so I didn’t heed her advice. What a mistake!

The guest rooms are very spacious and great if you have multiple travelers requiring more than 1 guest room. It is quite worn out with time, but is still in a good condition for a couple nights stay. It is around 3-5 minutes walk if you need some local food and coffee. Otherwise you are just at the edge of the Old Quarter, and within a 10 minute walk to St Joseph Cathedral. Ride hail is easily available and can bring you to the Old Quarter within 5 minutes and West Lake within 10-15 minutes ride away. I would say this service apartment is conveniently located but away from the craziness of the Old Quarter.

The location is great and the staff are great but the property itself is old and pretty rundown. This place had decent reviews so we booked 3 nights after the new year but ended up checking out after the first night.

My family and I reserved a Premier 2 Bedroom, which is supposed to be their top tier room. When we checked in, they initially gave us this disgusting 2 bedroom that smelled badly and had nasty stained carpets throughout. I'm pretty sure they gave this to us bc we booked through a 3rd party (Expedia). I went downstairs and told them that wasn't the type of room that we reserved and they quickly moved us down the hall to another room. This one was a little better but it still just had a real uneasy feeling. Everything just felt a little off.. like they did some cheap renovations and threw in a few random pieces of furniture. It was not warm and inviting at all like you see in their pictures! The hallways smelled, the kitchen was really old (not a huge deal), the couch was dirty, the beds were hard, warm water was regulated (only one person could shower). It was just bad and nothing I've ever experienced before. This place is wayyy overpriced for what it has to offer.

We requested to check out early after the first night and they were only willing to refund us one night. We took that and got out of there as quickly as possible.

We had a good stay at the hotel, would i say apartment . We are able to cook and hence not missing home food. Only downside not much of choices for halal food but fortunately able to find halal burger at the hotel supermarket. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Easy process in checking in and out . Somerset Grand Hanoi was an excellent place to stay for our first two nights in Hanoi. Our two bedroom, two bathroom apartment was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. I loved having a washing machine available! Blaine received us on our first night and I was able to reach him easily when I couldn't locate our driver at the airport right away. I was also glad that I organized a car through the hotel to pick us up from the airport, especially after such a long flight. Highly recommend this hotel!
