We got a free upgrade and the room was beautiful. Hotel provides coffe, tea, biscuts, complimentary still and sparkling water and toiletries! So impressed! Bed is really comfortable. Didnt use the apa facilities, but good to know that even after check out at 11am you can still use the spa till 1pm.

In need of modifying

The property is in need of care and renovation. The room has had basic renovations and was comfortable. However the rest of the hotel is now very dated and unclean. Especially the elevator entrance hall, behind reception. We did not use the spa, so we can not comment on that. May this is just a spa day location and not so much of a luxury retreat anymore.

Very disappointed my van was broken into and all.my tools stolen with another load of vans targeted staff didnt help. Secure car park it definitely isnt camera on entry so why did no one see what happened?? And others targeted several times whilst there lively hoods lost i wouldnt stat here again.wouldnt ay

The hotel room is fine. The “spa” is horrific. The steam room had no steam and was cold. The men’s suana is facing the open loos. The “hydrotherapy” pool was freezing cold. In all, extremely disappointing. We checked in, an hour later checked out.

The property is on lovely green grounds and feels much further out of the city than it is. Staff is a bit hit and miss, and so is the service.
The beef and lime sorbet in their RGs restaurant was excellent but, given the price point, the restaurant environment could do with some investment in ambiance and personality.
I didn't experiment with the pool and spa but will be back for that.

Check in was smooth and found we'd had a complimentary upgrade which was lovely.
Staff are very nice but it all felt a bit chaotic. This was very different from past visits.
Therapist was 20 min late for my appointment and as a result it felt rushed. And it was as didnt get my full time. Room was too bright and no background sounds so a silent massage. Odd.
Food was ok but not worth the price.
Overall its not the hotel it once was but staff remain its best feature.

Beautiful place but not beautiful value.

Stayed here for 2 nights recently as a present to my wife for us to get away.

Let's start with the good stuff:
- Spa facilities are amazing, really beautiful - can get a little busy but still lovely environment.
- Rooms are nice and spacious, bathrooms clean and well equipped.
- Grounds are beautiful and peaceful, lots of space.
- Breakfast really nice in a nice setting.
- Treatments are fantastic - staff in this area especially are wonderful.

Things that can be improved (story at the bottom):
- Staff whilst friendly don't seem to acknowledge when errors are made.
- Clear communication issues between staff.
- The rooms don't have air conditioning so in the summer can get very hot.
- High price point.

During our stay both our nights were interrupted, the first by work (like hard banging on pipework) at 5am. We raised the issue and this eventually stopped, we were told a manager would speak to us but we had to chase this throughout the day - to then be told by the Manager they didn't know anyone wanted to speak to them, eventually we were given 50% off one of our nights. We were initially told they do this work every night and it's important to allow them to prepare breakfast so I'd prepare for that.

The second night was interrupted by an extremely loud disagreement taking place for 2 hours between 1 and 3 am. We were so fed up from the first night sleep being disturbed and the chasing we'd had to do that we just didn't bother raising it this time onsite.

Stayed here several times and normally its great ..however this time was on the ground floor on 2 warm days and couldnt leave windows open because of security issues ..So basically baked for two nights ..no air con, no fans ..Second day room was made but no replenishment of tea and milk and the bedding i stripped off because of the heat was still stuffed down the side of the bed ..Went to the bar and sat down as its normally service at the table ..30 mins later got up and ordered at the bar as it seemed i had become invisible ..Normally great but this time not so great ..not a place i will stay again in summer ..

Loved my stay! …. Treated myself to a nights stay after a stressful week and it was just what I needed. Chloe and Ronnie checked me in and gave me a complimentary upgrade to the Dahlia kingsize room which was glorious …. So beautiful and clean, the bed was also super comfortable.
I used the spa and the gym and both were superb.
The staff here are AMAZING .. so efficient and polite and helpful.
Will definitely be booking again soon.

We paid £325 for a room Only that was not as per the pictures for a Junior suite. The room was dusty and needed some DIY tlc. Also the bed was not very comfortable but should’ve been a king Size bed yet was two single beds pushed together, the next morning we put room was near to the rear of the hotel we were woken up to a loud bang at 730am and smashing of glass which after arriving at 11pm wasn’t ideal! breakfast was not included for this cost so we had to fork out an additional 30 odd pounds for two of us, plus if you wanted to use the spa sauna and steam room. this was also an extra £20. The staff were very friendly, although I feel this is a very overpriced hotel and value for money was not fantastic for a room that needed a good deep clean and a DIY TLC update

Room was at the top of the hotel - felt like I was in the loft.
Steep stairs upto room as lift didn’t go to the top floor - stairs immediately outside door which wasn’t the best!
Breakfast lovely - but if you don’t order exactly as the menu states everything is extra which I’ve not come across in any hotel before.
Wouldn’t want to stay in the same room again but would probably stay at the hotel if in the area.

One night visit.

My trip started with a drive down country lanes as the postcode took us to the back of the Hotel and at 9pm was quite a feet. Used the postcode BR8 7SQ instead and that took you to the front gate for entrance.
Signage appeared to be non exsistant to find rececption. Not much lighting and three buildings to choose from not as straightforward at night.
Staff at reception was fantastic although the 100 pound deposit at the desk was a bit unusual especially when room paid for in full.
The room was clean and of good condition although radiator noisy and the bedside light did not work.
I was surprised that breakfast was not included and that would be another 40 pounds on top. But that was me not reading the booking properly as was a last min urgent trip.
All in all a nice place but had no time to enjoy facilities so cant comment on them.

The reception and restaurant staff were very helpful and the bar food was generally good quality. Unfortunately I did not like the bedroom or bathroom. The spa was very busy due to day visitors and the changing room floor was slippery due to excess water. I informed the spa reception staff twice about the slippery floor. I liked the relaxation room and the hotel grounds are lovely to walk around with many mature trees.

Traditional with a modern twist

In the countryside of Dartford a nice cozy hotel. The hotel is really nice, comfortable and clean. Massive grounds to walk around. Beautiful SPA offering 2 pools, sona, jacuzzi and various treatments.

The staff are like one big family each and everyone will go the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

All in all a very homey atmosphere with a modern touch.

Our stay was short but we will definitely be back.

I had a lovely time at this hotel did not try the spa but my stay was very pleasant.

I would advise not buying food from the hotel as it is very expressive for the postion you get.
We odered two 7oz steaks with chips and salad chips was about 10 in all and their fries.
Steak was very small and salad to,they have a restaurant on site however if you have a child under 14 like myself you cannot book the restaurant.

Rooms are nice and big i had the junior sweet which was amazing for my family.Rooms are clean and bathroom was to the only thing i would say is they need to upgrade the furniture for example headboard in the bedroom is peeling as its old.

Overall we had an amazing stay.

This was our 4th time staying at Rowhill Grange and we do feel the hotel and spa has gone slightly down hill and in need of a spruce up. The bar and food service was extremely slow - we waited over an hour for food and it arrived cold. All in all a nice escape but the hotel is questionable as a good 4 star

We had a lovely nights stay in this hotel, our meal too longer than expected however we did eventually end up with what we had ordered and were given complimentary drinks as a goid will gesture. The spa facilities are fine and cleanliness was great as expected. Location is abit out of the way of dartford town itself but we knew this before booking. Very comfortable bed for those who like to sink into a bed and enjoy a wonderful nights sleep. Minor issue was Tv was abit dated no tv guide feature, but this was not a problem for us.

Place and spa was lovely, however we didn’t sleep at all due to the room being far to hot and even after turning the heating off it was still extremely uncomfortable, stairs were attached to our room so whoever was staying was either smokers and went out for a cigarette every 5 mins until around 2am, also to add insult to injury the shower was freezing and wouldn’t constantly stay hot, the hotel and staff sorted some of the bar bill for us but we feel that’s part we enjoyed the most and feel the room should of be recompensed, which the hotel would of done if it wasn’t booked through hotels.com

Hovel of a place at eye-watering prices!

The room was tiny, sad and dilapidated. Facilities are massively dated (they have 'Sharp' TV's, so tells you how old they are!) and the toy-iron didn't work (maybe not a surprise as it probably cost £1.99 from Argos circa 2000) There were stains all over the toilet tiles, along the skirting board behind the sink, and clearly the hotel has never heard of bleach/ mould remover because the shower was grimy and disgusting.
The room we had was called 'Lulli' on the paperwok. Translates as 'Lullingstone', which you wouldn't know unless you live in the vicinity. Paid for the room in full before staying, but told that I had to have a £50 'holding fee' put on my card for 'any extras or damage'. This is a \"4-star\" hotel apparently!! Tells you everything about the general clientele, and also I have only ever stayed in hotels that do this where they are on financially shaky ground. All in all, I wish I hadn't wasted any money on this place; nothing but a huge disappointment… feel even sorrier for any poor soul who decided to pay through the nose to use it as a wedding venue!!!

Overall it was nice.
Service was not good, the poor staff where over worked and there was hardly any staff, there for ordering anything took a long long time.
Dinner was a joke, I believe others where worse off than us, but we left our table gave up waiting for dessert, had the room biscuits instead. It was so late!
We had no info, passing comment there was a problem with the kitchen, over heard a convo saying they had one chef!
No sorries no free drinks or bread offered to help with the hunger.
I don’t blame the staff as they had no time to sleep it seemed! I believe working 18 hour shifts! Enough to make you go mad!
Check out was also a joke, no information of what we booked to the room.
I Hope I get contacted before any payments come out as I’m not hopeful the details billed will be correct!

Upsides ish…
Good was delicious albeit quite small portions
Spa was nice and relaxing- although therapy pool parts of it was not working
Room was clean and bed was comfortable- no towel heater/wet towels in the morning after using the spa and coming back to shower for dinner/also no where to dry your swimming costume.

I believe if they had sufficient staffing and the ones on site not so overwhelmed with work, it would have been more pleasant.

Albeit the staff where over worked they had smiles, which I commend possibly having to deal
With a lot of unhappy customers that night.
Also it’s a bit pricey I thought for what it is based on our 1st experience

Not worth the price!

Checking in too 30mins. No queue. Just the old receptionist took his time telling us there’s no rooms available when we already had a booking. He finally gave us the keys and you’d think he’d say “the lift is straight ahead, that to the 2nd floor, and so on”. But no. Nothing. We had to wonder around while he looked at us and said “the room is upstairs”. If it wasn’t for Harvey walking past and directing us to the lift I would’ve lost my temper.

The room was lovely with such a big, comfortable bed! But it was boiling hot with only a tiny fan the size of my hand.

The breakfast was very DISAPPOINTING! It took 1HOUR for 2 waiters to come up to the table 5 times to ask if the traditional breakfast is what we wanted. The waitress was extremely rude. No eye contact, walking off in the middle of the conversation, not apologetic at all and just plain old bitter! The food finally came and it was so unseasoned. We ate a few bites and left. The duty manager and the waiter Harvey were the old two that made out stay better.

Tip for the hotel: don’t hire old, moody staff. Get Harvey to be in the recruitment team. He’s a Gem you don’t want to lose!

Rowhill Grange decided to downgrade our booking without any discussion. I had a voicemail 4 days before the booking asking to speak to me, despite several attempts to call back no one answered the phones. This was a present to my wife and when she arrived she was told that they had given the suite I had booked for her 6 weeks prior away and that she would be in a lower grade room. It is incredibly disappointing that they did this without prior consultation or any form of compensation. An incredibly bitter taste has been left after this experience

This hotel is beautiful on the outside and pretty average on the inside. Decor is like up market travel lodge. They wouldn’t serve breakfast on the lovely outside terrace (that’s right, in a pandemic!!). Mask policy for guests seemed pretty relaxed too. For £300 a night not including any meals I felt it was over priced

Unfor bavnjnt stayed in the sister hotel to this we unfort was disappointed. There really was nothing to do at the hotel. Only use the spa which due to covid and we could only use for 1 hour once during our staff. Which I didn’t release we would be charged for on top of our room fee already paid so an extra £20 had to be paid for that 1 hour, surely the hotel can include this in the price. We also had a very small double bed which me an my husband just couldn’t fit in, facilities were ok but we ended up waiting 20 mins to be served outside for lunch then it took another 20 to get the food so was a long 40 min wait. Dinner was again disappointing £35 for a steak that was so small I would get bigger in a top end restaurant paying that sort of price. We also decided to boycott breakfast because at £16.95 per person it was more prices at the savoy than in Kent. I’m sorry to write a not positive reciew but that was my onist opinion. The staff thoufh were all very friendly and welcoming.

As a nice hotel, i would usually expect things to be priced a little better. It was odd that using the pool cost £10 more per person. In my opinion, charge £20 more for the room per night and allow free access. Ordering a bottle of champagne should not require a £10 surcharge for bucket and ice. If you want to charge that...incorporate it in the price of the champagne. The stay was fine but there is room to make the service and experience far classier.

Nice hotel and setting, especially if you just want to relax - but bare in mind there is nithing to do in the area unless you are prepared to drive or get a taxi. Staff are really accomodating and helpful. However for a 4 star hotel there are some improvements that are needed. There needs to be a fridge in the rooms, there wasn't any information in the rooms regarding room service, menus, spa treatments etc. which would be really helpful so that you can relax and make decisions. The finish to the rooms also needs looking at as this should be improved. Overall we had a nice stay and we relaxed which is what we needed.

Good clean hotel . Spa was decent quality but feel a little conned/cheated as the spa was quite pricey (£260) and they consistently gave me 10minutes less time for every service i had booked (4 different treatments) which comes to 40mins less time then paid for in total!

Really nice and warm staff.

The stay was really nice but slightly let down by the breakfast offering which was probably caused by the lack of staff.
The management need to look urgently at this as the staff were stressed and clearly needed additional help
Breakfast took over an hour to arrive and we had to send the cafetière back as the plunger was broken and this took an age to replace .

Understand about limiting numbers in the pool and gym and good to have a system. Charging an additional £20 to use the gym or pool that is usually empty is however taking advantage of the situation.

Very nice grounds to walk in as an alternative.

A quick getaway is all we needed.

Me and my boyfriend stayed for only one night, I wish we could have stayed longer. We celebrated Valentine's a bit early and Rowhill Grange was just what we needed. He treated me to hot bamboo massage, highly recommend for people who want that deep tissue massage! Was pleasantly surprised staff let us enjoy pools half an hour before close, usually where there are closing times for pools, people have to be there 30 min before or you are not let in. The bed is so comfortable, I wish we didn't have to get up so early the next day! We have been to this place I believe 5 times now and we will definitely be back! We love it here!

Very cold hotel, single glazed windows due to the hotel being old. Nice Spa and gym facilities but they need to sort out their radiators in their rooms. Mine was not working, I complained the next morning as I didn't want to change rooms in the middle of the night. Half apology is all I got. Wouldn't bother staying here again.

Lovely quiet place

We stayed here for my fiancé's birthday. I booked it specifically for the spa but the pools and facilities were smaller than what I had anticipated, having seen the pictures online. Nonetheless excellent service from all staff and a good relaxing break away from everything.
