Nice hotel in a good location but feeling a little tired and in need of a refresh. I've been staying here on and off for a few years now and the staff are pleasant and helpful. The food is OK for a budget hotel but it really does need an update. The rooms are comfortable and spacious but a little uninspiring.

I arrived after a 3 1/2 hour drive. I ordered food at the bar area and the food was dreadful. I had hunters chicken which came with breaded chicken, rock hard chips and cremated bacon. Needless to say I left most of it.
The room was freezing cold and the bathroom was filthy. The shower tray was dirty and the toilet had brown marks on it. Needless to say, I wont be staying here again. I would rather pay the extra and stay at the double tree across the road.

Poor welcome on arrival. Receptionist was distracted talking to another customer that was already being attended to.
The initial room allocated had a leaking toilet.
The room I was moved to smelt of smoke and poor plumbing.
Bed was uncomfortable and ac was too loud all night. Just overall a rubbish experience this time .

We arrived early by 12 can’t check in until 230 pm. Went to the restroom lobby , buckets at the entrance for leaky ceiling, dangerous for falling . They advertised in the bathroom they can supply for toothpaste & brush if you forgot to bring one , a misleading advertisement . Requested x3 at the receptionist, they said they don’t have any, I have to buy it from the store which is 2 Miles away from the hotel by walking. On our 3rd day of stay they did not clean the room & did not replace the towels, maybe because we are checking out the following day .

In general, the hotel was as to be expected. I was in room 320 and there was terrible rattling all night, at intermittent periods, either a generator or when I enquired ‘the pipes’. If you’re not in that room, probably all good! Staff were very good, just not much of a sleep!

Weekend break for btcc

Breakfast was a good selection and not too busy. Saturday night we ate in the hotel. Many items on the menu were not available. Wife had lasagne which was burnt to the dish. The amount of food you get for the cost is very poor. Bar had no draught pumps working. Room needed a good deep clean and refresh. Stains on shower tray and on carpet. Cushion was missing out of the swivel chair in the room.

Usual IHG good standards but noisy and hot

The room was clean and the bed comfortable but the aircon didn’t work.
Being situated on a very busy junction I asked for a quiet room. The reception staff said it would be quiet compared to others. Goodness knows what the others were like because this one was very noisy. I barely slept because the room was too hot with the window closed and extremely noisy with the window open.

What made our eight day stay so good was the entire staff ,they were excellent, the front office were exceptional as was the restaurant staff and bar staff .Nothing was too much trouble , they went above and beyond every day. To make our visit memorable. The only criticism was the shower , although modern and large the shower floor was very ,very slippery.

I like the area for its quietness despite being closed to a major roundabout used by truckers going into Europe.
I hate the fact that uber drivers don’t like picking up from there due to traffic. It is not a walking distance to the stores but shopping mall is a few miles away. It has pay parking for quests, AC frequently malfunctions and it is not guaranteed you will have one in your room. Many of their staff are pleasant to talk to especially the Irish ladies!

Room on 2nd floor and subsequent move to 3rd floor were both disappointing, they both need a thorough deep clean of the carpets and the orange chair in the 3rd floor was disgustingly dirty, unable to go anywhere near it due to huge brown stain. So I had to sit on the bed. The 3rd floor room was very cold and I was unable to sleep. I have Diabetes and unable to tolerate rooms which are cold. The shower area did not look visually clean so I did not have a shower, the sink was blocked so I had to brush my teeth over the toilet!! I was very unhappy with my stay I should have booked a Travelodge ..not! So I won’t be staying there again as the rooms are a let down and beds are uncomfortable. Breakfast was good.

The room was nice, staff fantastic. What annoyed me was there was air con in the room but not working. I asked to be moved and reception said they will get back to me. Guess what they didn’t. I had to sleep in a room with no air con and had an awful sleep as I felt too hot and had to lay over the bedding.

Check in was seamless. Our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was amazing and we had options to select from. The only downside to it was the toilet in the room we had wasn’t flushing properly.
