The staff are fantastic .. Paige on the front desk was just amazing. The hotel was very short staffed due to illnesses, so Paige had many hats! The shower tray was cracked and didn't drain if the shower was on full, and the shower door did not fully close. The bed was only a double and a bit uncomfortable due to the sprung mattress. This is my regular go to hotel when visiting Essex/London.
Very easy to get to, just off the M25 and very close to Lakeside Shopping Centre.
There is plenty of parking. Check in is quick. Rooms are spacious and clean with a well stocked complimentary tea tray and complimentary toiletries.
Bed is comfortable and shower is great.
Staff are all very nice and friendly, especially Donna, Kirsty, Jamie and Theresa who always make you feel like a friend more than a guest.

I was staying at the hotel to attend a family function. One in my party was my mother who is disabled.
I am disappointed that no-one from the hotel replied back to an email I had sent them for a room with limited stair climbing. They don't have a lift.
We had arrived late after a tiring 5 hour journey, checked in only to find out they allocated a 2nd floor room which mean't asking a disabled person to walk 2 steep flight of stairs which is not acceptable.
Teresa was a massive help and adjusted the room allocation for my mother to stay on the 1st floor. A big shout there - thank you.

This hotel isnt fit for purpose. Hotel is clearly old and in much need of a complete refurb or even better still, knock it down! Abandoned football ground next door completely derelict and area doesnt exactly feel safe as signs all in car parks warning of crime. You couldnt pay me yo stay in this place again! Expedia, I would take this off your list now as the photos you've used dont show this hotel in its true light.

Had to call a number on arrival as there was no one at reception when i arrived during the day. My room had everything i needed including a fan as my room was hot. There was a horrible odour in my room which smelt like cigarettes and the bathroom smelt of drains. The bed was comfortable and i slept well. Unfortunately i woke to lots of insect bites.

We were greeted with a lovely warm welcome by a lovely male receptionist, he was very helpful and reassuring too when a incident occurred, which was not the hotel's fault. The hotel itself was very clean and so was our hotel room. Our hotel room had a bath too which was a lovely suprise, the beds were warm and comfy. I honestly would stay there again and recommend to friends too. The only thing the hotel doesn't have a lift so it made it awkward going upstairs and downstairs with suitcases and a pram however the male receptionist did carry our luggage upstairs for us.

Like many Best Western Hotels the place is old and not brought up to modern standards. Shower was OK at best, room very sparse and desk too small to use. TV was small but just about adequate and still baffles me that hotel rooms do not have USB ports inext to the bed or at least in wall sockets as standard in 2025. Staff were nice and hotel was clean but these big old buildings are just that. Big, old and too expensive to bring up to modern standards. This also made the flooring very noisy as people walked about at night

Sorry for the delayed Review. Not our first family stay here. Always happy with the Welcome from Check-in until we leave. Smooth Check-in process. Room A1 Condition and little man is happy. I stay at this hotel frequently, as it is so convenient to get to and then travel around London and Essex. The hotel has ample parking, good comfortable, clean en-suite rooms. There is a nice restaurant/bar on site. The staff are all so friendly, it’s a pleasure staying there. I will be back again in 2025.

Under staffed reception and bar meant staff were running between the two. Which meant waiting at the bar or reception until they were available. Check-in information was poor.
There was a huge party with a late bar that finished at 1am. The rooms are not sound proofed as detailed in the room description.
My room had a fusty smell and the en-suite smelt of sewerage. Mentioned this to reception who said it would be reported to maintenance. No additional fans available, unfortunately the room was hot hot hot and it wasn’t even a particularly hot day / night. I was given an additional sheet to use instead of the duvet which was appreciated. Left the window open to try and cool the room and as a result was bitten to bits by mosquitos.
All in all a dreadful stay. No I wouldn’t stay again
