The receptionist was a little rude and abrupt questioned our room choice etc
Room was clean but bed was so uncomfortable. Hard and no comfort. The door seems to be too small for its frame so the light from the hall way shone thru a lot bringing too much light into room when trying to sleep.
From about 5am so much banging and noice unsure what that was sounded like from possibly the kitchen

Asked to check in this hotel at 2pm but was told by a rude, abrupt and unprofessional staff member that there’s no staff at that time so it has to be 3.30pm. I asked her to confirm my booking and she replied ‘I’m not in front of the computer’
You are reception staff. It’s your job to provide this information for a paying customer.
Not a good start.
We was given a room that was small for a double room. The bathroom door was literally one foot away from the edge of the bed.
No heating on in the room and it was cold.
There was a guy staying in the room next door to us who kept banging on the walls if we made any kind of sound in the room.
Totally ruined our night away.
So we checked out just after 7pm.
The staff in this place are rude, abrupt and have no professionalism in them.
Complained to the hotel about our bad experience and checking out early.
Rather than acknowledge their mistakes they pointed the finger at me and said ‘I made their staff uncomfortable as I was aggressive’
What a load of crap!
I’ve stayed in hotels all around the world.
I work in hospitality.
I have never experienced this level of pathetic service. If you employ reception staff they need to be welcoming, friendly and show a certain level of professionalism.
You will not get that here or a comfortable night in peace in a cold room!

Stayed many times before mostly without issue. Requested a quiet room and was given a fairly nice one in the annexe. However the room faced the road and with the windows opened the traffic was very loud all night. Additionally there were unbelievably and selfishly noisy people below us.

a good welcoming hotel with the accommodation being good value for money in that area of london . i found that the carpark had ample room at the back of the hotel which was very secure because of the narrow entrance leading to it . my only slight negative was that i found the internet a little flakey in one of the rooms i stayed in.i will definitely stay there again when i am working in that area

Great hotel. Friendly welcome and quick check in. Large spacious room with Dyson fan included which was needed on a hot night. My room was on the front so some traffic noise but that doesn’t bother me. It’s a 10 min walk to Gidea Park station for trains in to London. Ery convenient location and a great price. There’s also a Micropub opposite which is worth a visit.

The room was small with 2 single beds put together. Barely room to get around one side or the bottom of the bed. Extremely hard mattresses which were actually painful to sleep on. All 4 pillows were thin and hard so we bought some better ones. The room was very clean and the shower worked fine. There was one chair and small table with a kettle and tea/coffee.

I booked this to get rested after a long drive and didn't get a wink of sleep. So noisy and the walls are thin you can hear the taps shower and doors closing in corridor. Maybe it was noise from kitchen too

Mostly very good.

I’ve stayed in this hotel several times, every time was a pleasant stay. the staffs are friendly and helpful as always. Very clean rooms but I noticed the toilet seat and cover in my room (#2) is a bit too old. At the first glance, I thought it’s dirty but then realised it’s old. Could do with a new one. Other than that, everything is very good.

Great place to stay!

Great 1 night stay at the hotel. It is spotlessly clean, the staff are lovely, parking is safe and easy. The room was light and airy, comfortable bed and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked - so nice it was not a buffet! There is a choice of places to eat within a few yards, including a good local traditional pub.

Our room (16) was on first floor. It had obviously recently been upgraded and redecorated. Bed was comfy. Bathroom / shower were very good except there were no towel rails and plug in sink did not work so husband had to shave under a running tap. There is a bar and small restaurant where we had a delicious breakfast. Would recommend.

Terrible night sleep

The room we where staying in (room 5) was in the downstairs part of the hotel meaning our window was road level. This did not really bother myself however this is without a doubt the noisiest Hotel I have ever stayed in every step upstairs was able to be heard incredibly loudly in our room waking us up numerous times throughout the night and early hours of the morning. The motion sensored lights in the corridor outside of our room kept going on and off which meant there was very bright light being shone into our room on a regular basis due to the poorly fitting door. The shower also does not stay aT a constant temperature it was constantly changing from hot to icy cold as you can imagine this is far from ideal.

Had a double room in basement level, due to size of room, furniture was fairly basic
Bathroom decor and shower was very good & clean
Due to upper floor above me being hard type covering not impressed with the sound of people walking around in hard shoes at midnight
If visited again would try to get a room higher in building!

We had a lovely short stay at Gidea Park Hotel. Our room was large, with a walk in waredrobe and modern bathroom. The shower was excellent. Very comfortable bed made for a great nights sleep. Breakfast was lovely the following morning. Check in and out very straight forward. Will definitlely stay again when visiting family in the area.

Picture must show largest room in the hotel, room was slightly larger than double bed, however it was clean and reasonably priced. Breakfasr was good and staff ( especially on reception and breakfast ) were friendly. If you need to stay in that particular area I would recommend for 1 night.

A nice and pleasant experience. This is a cozy hotel and the service from the staff was really good. We had reached one hour earlier than check in time but they prepared our rooms and allowed us to check in.

The location is really good and easily accessible. 10 mins walk from Gidea Park station.

Location is nice and Romford centre 20-30mins walk, buses right outside hotel too. Lady at NISA shop opp' hotel is helpful and nice too. Hotel very clean! cleanliness is really spot on! Room was small standard, nice bathroom. I felt only one person was running ragged trying to cover breakfast so by time hot breakfast came toast was cold and this is no fault to the member of staff on the day, she really tried. Requested hard boiled egg but was slightly soft but didn't want to cause more work for the poor lady doing the breakfast round. Overall a nice hotel in a nice area.

Was surprised how small our room was , pictures on website very deceiving, bed was very hard and was no space around the bed as room was so small , the toilet and shower was in the cupboard and unless you are very small you would not be able to fit in the shower, my partner who is over 6ft struggled, also very noisy all through night and didn’t really feel like had much privacy as could hear everything even conversation in next room , felt it was over priced for what we got, and it didn’t even include breakfast

I was in a small, single room. The bed was okay, although the single pillow was hardly worth the effort. Bathroom was so small you had to sit on the toilet at an angle! The walls were paper thin. The \"guest\" in the room opposite me decided to have a 2 hour mobile conversation at 10.30pm. He didn't shout, but I could hear every word of his rather boring conversation, before the hotel told him to shut up (immediately after I complained about him). It's certainly not a bad hotel and I would stay again, but it's nowhere near as good as the chain hotel I stayed in two days earlier for the same price.

The one useable haard wooden chair had to be sit in the middle of the very small walk way, The small shower had no shelf for soap/shampoo. One must manuver to use the toilet. The radiator heat didn't work (staff provided a small space heater for an already very small room). One couldn't walk between wall and the side of the bed.
++++ staff very eager to try to please - good breakfast - all quite friendly.
The room was not \"user friendly\" in any way, shape or form.

My previous reviews were based on other bedrooms. I paid extra for a superior double and what a difference loads of room comfortable bed. The pizza in the restaurant was good and more authentic than from dominoes etc.

Difficult to better this hotel.

We visited Romford for family reasons and we were welcomed by the receptionist and shown to our room. 3 single beds immaculately clean and very comfortable. The hotel is in a good position and offers free parking on site which is a necessity in this area. Breakfast was excellent and all combinations were offered which was suitable for all. The pictures that decorated the room illustrated the Italian owners home area, very tasteful.

Myself, my husband, and two adult daughters, occupied two rooms. We arrived tired and hungry after an eight hour journey, the hotel kitchen cooked us a very good meal, without fuss. The staff were very accommodating to our every need. Many many thanks for that. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Comfy bed, clean bathroom, good shower.
Local shops and 2 pubs within 2 minute walk.
Overall a great hotel for the price.

Very pleasant small family hotel. Not luxurious but perfectly adequate for a short stay. Bedroom basic but very clean with all the essentials you need.
Staff excellent. Very welcoming. Couldn’t do enough for you. Hotel feels personal unlike like large, anonymous, corporate budget hotels.
Has small restaurant and bar where breakfast (good quality and value) is served and you can have evening meals. Unfortunately was fully booked for the evening when we were there which was a shame as the food looked fabulous! (hotel family and chef are Italian).
