Hotel location, size & condition of apartment and all hotel services staff were very good, specially Kamal was very friendly and helpful at reception desk. Complimentary breakfast was bonus as I wasn’t expecting it. I would recommend it to family of 4 to 6 people, if you can compromise with one bathroom. I would more likely rebook again in future. Thanks to Expedia.

The amenities in the disabled access room. Needs to be addressed. It is dangerous not to have a seat in the bathroom for a disable person to sit on. I found it extremely difficult to stand, which meant it took a lot longer for me to shower. Not ideal. Fix that problem and i could potentially look at booking to stay again in the future.

From start to finish, this was one of the worst and most disgusting hotel experiences I have ever had
At check-in, the receptionist blatantly refused to acknowledge that I had booked an accessible room, despite me always booking one due to accessibility needs, especially now as my hand is broken and I require more space. He insisted all accessible rooms were sold out and gave me room 418. When I entered, the room was filthy, with dirt all over the walls. I immediately went back downstairs and refused to stay there. After showing my booking confirmation again, he suddenly “found” an accessible room and assigned me room 518. While slightly better, it was still dirty and unacceptable.
The next morning at 10:45 am, I informed reception that the room needed servicing and that the toilet drainage was blocked, leaving the bathroom flooded. After being out for several hours, nothing had been done. I requested assistance again multiple times throughout the day, yet no one attended to the issue. Eventually, housekeeping only dropped off two towels and left, without fixing anything.
In the evening, I raised the issue again with the same receptionist, who rudely dismissed me and ignored my complaint. His behavior was unprofessional, disrespectful, and shocking. I contacted Hotels.com three times, and they were assured by the hotel that the room would be cleaned, but nothing was ever done. At checkout, I showed the manager photos of the filthy conditions All I received was a brief “sorry”

I had a really good stay at the Ilford Grand Hotel. I was there for one night by myself and the staff were absolutely amazing — genuinely some of the most helpful I’ve come across. They let me store my luggage before check-in, and even allowed my friends (who weren’t staying at the hotel) to leave their bags as well. They also held my luggage after check-out until the afternoon, which made the whole trip much easier.

The room itself was clean and nicely presented. The main downside was the bed setup — two single beds pushed together that weren’t the most comfortable. There was also a random fridge on the floor plugged into the wall, which looked a bit out of place, but it didn’t cause any issues at all!

One small inconvenience was that although the room had everything for making tea and coffee, there was no kettle provided. Luckily, there’s a coffee shop just a couple of doors down, so it wasn’t a big problem.

Overall, great service and a pleasant stay — just a few minor things that could be improved! Would definitely consider staying again!

The room was small but reasonably clean. There were tea and coffee making facilities and shower gel/shampoo supplied. There was a basic continental breakfast included.
The mattress was uncomfortably hard. We had a long check-in process because of a mix-up. It was not an expensive stay so overall reasonable value for money. I probably wouldn’t return - I feel it would be better to spend a little more at the Travelodge.

All the staff were polite helpful and really welcoming especially the gentleman whom checked us in , the room was really clean and bathroom also clean the shower was perfect .the rooms and hotel is warm and cosy and for the price this is a really good hotel to stay in there is also a free complimentary continental breakfast which was good .There are a lot of shop and train station close by .

I’ve stayed at The Grand Hotel Ilford many times due to the convenience of it’s location, the service, comfort, general cleanliness, peace and quiet, amenities and continental breakfast are always to a very good, consistent standard every time.. Also on the rare occasion when there have been any issues, their friendly reception staff have always gone out of their way to resolve the issue or moved me to a better double room..

I am a genuine patron of the hotel at different times of year, spring, summer & winter and find their room charges are very good value for the quality service they provide… And I am fussy about where I stay…!
The added bonus is that there is a good choice of food options within 500 metres of the hotel, including an excellent world class southern Indian vegetarian restaurant, ( and I’m not even a vegetarian ), but eaten their several times…!!!

Check in was very smooth and reception staff polite and friendly. I booked this hotel as I had an online exam to take and needed quiet and good wifi. The room was on 3rd floor and although it was peaceful (no sudden loud noises or screaming children), the wifi connection was awful. It kind of defeated the whole purpose of my stay. I had to purchase unlimited data from my network provider and hotspot my laptop for 2 days. Getting onto netflix or youtube was not possible unless waiting forever for connection. Bathroom clean and equipped with toiletries. Could have done with more loo roll bit easily solved, just asked reception. Bed was comfortable, linens not highest quality but sufficient. Lots of reataurants on doorstep. A pleasant stay minus poor wifi.

Staff friendly enough, hotel very clean and tidy, but TV never worked the 2 days we were there despite the reception saying they would get maintenance to check it out. They never did. The sensor light in bathroom literally stayed on for 10 seconds before switching off, mid shower. Probably closer to giving 4 stars than 2!

The hotel was nice to stay at. Location was amazing, most of the staff were friendly. It was nice for them to give complimentary breakfast (continental breakfast).

However, they could improve by adding the following:
- extra pillows / blankets
- the carpets were not so clean
- no phone to contact reception
- extra towel (only one bath towel per guest)
- no safe to put valuables
- no luggage rack
- windows that cannot be opened
- drain smell in the bathroom (room 203)
- an actual double bed rather than two single beds
- soft mattress

We had a fantastic stay at Ilford Grand Apartments. The apartment was absolutely lovely – spotless, modern, and incredibly comfortable. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The bed was cozy, the kitchen well-equipped, and the entire space had a fresh and welcoming atmosphere.

so many negatives not even sure where to start:
hotel is dirty! the rooms are really bad- hairs all over the bathroom and bedding, stains& liquid marks all up the walls, a bathroom which had clearly not been cleaned properly (if at all) the first allocated had a broken window- the handle was missing so it remained open onto the noisy street. moved rooms and although this was a much bigger, nicer room- it was still pretty dirty and the matress was ridiculous- like sleeping on a plank of wood. staid again the following week (no choice due to work)but paid for an upgrade- unfortunately was given the same as last time with the matress that is so hard my body literally ached for days after- their solution- offered me an inferior room with no reinbursement or to change rooms later in my stay. they did bring up an additional duvet for me to sleep on top of, nice thought but not really much use! the really shocking thing however- after being quite seriously sexually harrassed outside the hotel (not their fault) i ordered food to be delivered as i felt very unsafe going out (as a lone female working away from home) when my delivery arrived, rather than the driver calling me (like they do usually) the front desk staff gave him my bedroom number and sent him upstairs! needless to say i checked out the following day- asked about a refund for the 2 night i would not be staying and was told sorry but this is not grounds for a refund! shocking!

Room was neat and clean however very small indeed (not large enough for 2 adults to get ready simultaneously in the area next to the bed). It is within a few minutes walking distance of Ilford station however the area is not safe. There are homeless people, groups of youths causing trouble and drunk middle eastern men stumbling about. I would not let my wife venture out alone for safety reasons. The room is quite expensive considering its size and safety concerns of the area.

The only negative is that the beds aren’t overly comfortable and you seem to only get one pillow. I slept on my duvet as it was large enough to be folded and cover me too

The staff are wonderful and it was very clean. The room was on the smaller size but as advertised and comfortable. It had a quiet and adjustable heating/cooling system - a bit of a rarity for a budget hotel. And while it was basic the free breakfast was nice to have!
