I wonder if the hotel is being used for recent immigrants. We were the only English speaking and white people in the hotel, which felt strange. The local area has good facilities, including a small shop, Creams, barbers and a park, however while we were there, there was a fight down the road from our hotel in the evening which made us feel slightly unsafe.

We also noticed that there were no women walking around the local area alone. There seem to be men from other nationalities everywhere at all times of the day, and I felt uncomfortable.

Our room was a non-smoking room, however the smell of smoke was overwhelming. We had to pay a deposit before being given the keys (which we weren’t informed about) and were informed that if we smoked in the room, we wouldn’t get our deposit back. They also say that the deposit will be returned in “3-5 days because it is an automated system, however we have yet to receive ours back over a month later. The deposit situation worried me because the room smelt so strongly but neither of us smoke and we knew it wasn’t us and smelt when we arrived. I felt unwell in the night because I have asthma and we left earlier than planned the next day.

We did appreciate the parking, although it is very small and most vehicles were blocked in by others.

Hi, I'm writing to express my disappointment with my stay at Park Hotel in Ilford last night. I regret choosing this hotel as it wasn't comfortable or conducive to a relaxing visit.

Issues I encountered:
- Room lacked basic amenities (no bathroom mat, no TV subscription, limited toileties)
- Breakfast options were very limited (tiny sachet of milk, no water in fridge)

But what really took the cake was the company's policy of withholding customer deposits for damage. They held my deposit saying the bank would hold it for 15 days, even though I was leaving without damage. Holding a customer's money that long for a one-night stay feels unfair.

Overall, I didn't enjoy my stay and wouldn't recommend it.

The room cleanliness was very poor. There was a strong unpleasant smell, and the room felt dirty and uncomfortable. The bed was broken, the side table was damaged, and there was very little space in the room. There was no wardrobe or sufficient storage space. The room was not good, and we were charged a £100 deposit even though there was nothing in the room worth that amount.

On top of that, we found two mice in our room.

The room was shabby the bed didn't have a proper mattress and the pillows were extremely hard. The furniture looked like old 1990s IKEA, with peeling varmish, ring marks, and very worn-out condition. The hotel wasn't dirty, but it was very run-down. There wasn't even a dustbin in our room

Obviously as the price was very cheap, I wasn't expecting luxury. The single room is very small and it's outdated. However I didn't need anything else and having my ensuite was all I care about. The bed was very uncomfortable, it was sank in the middle. There wasn't any cupboards for clothes, but it did have a small desk and bedside table a TV and a fridge which I really appreciated. They have an ample free parking and street parking all free which is also something I really appreciate. The only thing I didn't like at all is they taking a £100 deposit. I've never heard any hotel which does this, I only hope they give it back to me on time without any issues

⚠️ Worst Hotel Experience Ever – Avoid This Place! ⚠️

Stayed from 6–9 Nov 2025 but paid , and it was a nightmare from check-in to check-out.

Saw a man using drugs outside the hotel, then police arrived after a woman overdosed in a nearby room.

Broken bed, no Wi-Fi, and no cleaning even after multiple complaints.

My cousin was approached by women outside asking to go to the room for “fun” — totally unsafe!

After days of terrible service, we checked out early (lost money + no deposit refund).

This place is not family-friendly, feels unsafe, and is full of drugs and shady activity.
0/5 – Do NOT book this hotel! Families Avoid it for your wife or kids safety and also read the google review its the worst HOTEL in this Area!!

Triple room was terrible with only beds in a small box room, had to keep luggage on floor. They changed room next day after complaint. Mattresses were very poor quality and could be improved. Parking was a farce, but staff did open the back gate to let us park on site as all other spaces were taken up.
Room was in a poor state, ripped chairs, rat poison boxes, paper thin pillows. Pictures on the website were not representative of the hotel today, it has deteriorated significantly.
Work was also going on in the hotel, with lots of shouting, banging and drilling going on. We got out our room and dust sheets had been put down and all the walks were wet with paint. We weren’t told of any work taking place in advance. The first receptionist we met was nice and helped with getting the security guard to open the back gate to park, and when we asked for more pillows said he’d get the sister hotel to send some over, unfortunately the receptionists on after him around midnight were much less helpful, when I told them that I was there to collect the pillows that should have arrived and they told me that there would definitely mot be pillows arriving from the sister hotel at such a time and instead offered extra towels.

It was a nightmare to spend the night, the room was extremely smelly, stuffy and people were smoking like hell. So much of noise.

The room was just miserable with unbearable smell. No chair nothing. Just bed. No toiletries, not even toilet paper.
No water to drink. It was the worst experience of my life that I stayed in this hotel. We couldn't sleep whole night and we just rushed as early as possible in the morning.

Staff very friendly
Lots of plug sockets to cater for all electrical needs.
Not too far from shopping area and 2 different subway stations, with bus stops directly outside the hotel as well.

Awful experience! We were seeing a show & booked this “cheap” option just to sleep the night instead of travelling home, instead we just travelled home

We decided to check-in about 4pm on arrive the place we could describe was a hotspot for a lot of unsavoury characters

After a short wait regarding our booking etc.. we we’re told on there system our booing was cancelled & there going to send us to there “Sister Hotel” reluctantly we went there & that place made my family & children uncomfortable so decided not to stay

Awful experience very unprofessional & when asked by staff what was my complaint there simply couldn’t understand. We watched show & drove back home

Hotel.com not being very responsive to help get a refund also how do there partner with a hotel like this

I made the mistake of choosing cheap option & I got the exactly what I paid for

Lesson learnt especially reading reviews!

The worst hotel have been in my entire life. I was so disappointed the first night. Was a disaster couldn’t have a shower in the shower area it stunk. The drainage from the shower area really was. Smelling. They moved us to a next room where an encountered Flies.
. I had to go outside and get fly killer at 11 at night.
The third night. We could not sleep 2.25 in the morning

Somebody visited the room next-door and they talked till 430 in the morning. For sure, this is the worst hotel I have ever been to in my life
. The pillars were so hard that they could not be slept on. There was no headboard absolutely dreadful.

WORST HOTEL EVER

On arrival we were told that we will be accommodated to the 'sister hotel' on a different location as they were fully booked. Check in was absolutely chaotic. Sister hotel was brittania, which is known to be the worst hotel in the UK. We had the WORST night ever! The springs in the mattress were poking out, the room was in a loft on the top floor. We had two kids with us who kept on crying because the beds were actually hurting their backs. We asked the hotel for pillows when we arrived at 4pm and were promised that we will get them in the room when we come back. When we came to sleep there were no pillows, the ones in the room were more like pillow covers with no filling at all! Broken chair kept inside the room which was a hazard for my toddler! It nearly fell on him, thankfully I caught it in time. My husband kept insisting at the reception that we need pillows and he point blank refused. in the end we piled up towels to keep under our heads! The worst night we have ever spent in a hotel! NEVER EVER BOOK WITH THEM!

When we tried to check in, we were informed that we were not staying there but somewhere completely different. She handed us an address card and told me to 'go there'.

2. There were flies in the room.
3. The lady in the reception didnt bother answering any questions rather was busy in her phone talking to someone all the time.
4. Room was nowhere near clean enough, including the carpet.

She has brought shame to her hotel!

I have never encountered such terrible service. I booked the hotel online, and when my colleague went to check in, he realized he had forgotten to bring his ID and credit card. After registering with a photo of his ID, he was told that a physical card was required to pay the deposit—bank transfers, cash, or Apple Pay were not accepted. Without a physical card, he would not be allowed to stay. It was already 11 PM, and we couldn’t go back to retrieve the card or find another hotel. My colleague, who doesn’t speak English well, didn’t know what to do. He pleaded for an alternative solution, but the Indian female staff member coldly refused, simply stating that if he couldn’t provide a card, he had to leave, and then ignored his further inquiries. She even shouted at him, “You must have a physical card. If not, leave!” before walking away.

Later, a male staff member came over and suggested asking a nearby friend to help pay, which finally resolved the issue. Travelers can often face unexpected situations, such as forgetting or losing their documents. This female staff member perfectly exemplified someone lacking patience, service awareness, and even basic human empathy. She is truly unfit for this job and has brought shame to her hotel!

I'm guessing the hotel is also being used as temporary accommodation for people waiting for a house or could be asylum seekers waiting for permanent accommodation. (I could be wrong).

The reception is awful, the advertising is misleading, there is no restaurant or dinner service, the hotel is very dirty, the room is boxes small 45cm width windows and only the top window can be open, no curtain so woken up early no tea and coffe available in the room . As soon as I was checking in greeted with reception having an argument with customers.on my booking had breakfast included but get told I cannot have any as they have decided to close. I showed evidence and the manager decided to delete my email. Very rude and unhelpful. Would not recommend to anyone. Broken lights in the room and no fans. Or tea or coffee in room but there was a kettle. Customer service does not exist. You will be lucky to get a smile. Minus 5 stars and that’s generous. When we arrived we were told we would be staying im the sister hotel,which was a few mins drive away. The staff in the sister hotel were very polite and checked us in quickly.
Our room was standard and smelt clean but the carpet dressing table and walls were covered in marks and stains,which is not what you expect to see. It needs decorating and updating.
Location was ideal for where we were going

We arrived 09/10 at 1.45pm and was told that we could park at the front, no problem. We got to our room which had a strange smell, no head board, pillows as thin as tissue and a mousetrap clearly positioned at the foot of the bed. The next morning, Sunday 10/10, we was awoken at 8am buy staff telling us we must move our car as the builders were here to do work!!

On arrival at Park hotel I was told we are full but we have secured another room for you in our sister hotel called \"Britannia Hotel\". I was also told its a 3 Star hotel and its better than here. I arrived at Britannia Hotel there was no parking which I had requested with the booking. The rude and unhelpful woman in the reception said park on the yellow line and move your car before 8a.m and park in front of the hotel when the other guests have left. Well where do I start………
At arriving at the hotel (if you can call it that) we went in and the receptionist didn’t speak a word of English so checking in was horrendous then we went to London to watch a football match and was told the room would be ready when we returned, so got back about 8pm the new receptionist knew nothing about this so had to wait for this to be sorted and the receptionist asked for my receipt which I provided and he said ok your room is number 25, so we went off to check in.
Omg 😱 opening the door the smell was mouldy water and eggy in the en-suite, the bedding had holes in, there was a massive burn mark on the floor wallpaper peeling off everywhere, but it was the smell that stopped us even going in the bathroom.
Also there was 1 little cup in the room and 2 tea bags I went to the desk and asked for 3 more cups as there was 4 of us and was told they had no more cups so we had one tiny one between us.
Then breakfast 🙈🙈🙈🙈 again no English I went and asked for toast and got given a plate asked for eggs and given a plate lol, there was sausages, beans and hash browns in a hot plate and that was it, then I spoke to a other member of the kitchen and asked for 2 poached eggs and was given 2 eggs with shells still on, I can safely say I won’t be returning.

AVOID THIS PLACE
It’s been 10 days and they still haven’t refunded my deposit despite me leaving the room immaculate. They keep fobbing me off . They said 3-7 days then 10 days and now saying 14 days! What kind of an establishment does this. Breakfast - there was nothing really . Well nothing left. Couldn’t even get juice. Room was ok apart from the questionable stains up the ceiling and rotten carpet.
I want my refund back now please? Sick of phoning and emailing .

The hotel was not good for my comfort cause whats was shown on media was totally the opposite to standard i arrived looked at the place and left within 20 minutes

They didn’t provide me room even though I booked 1 weeks b4. Then they shifted me to another hotel. But I had my room after midnight. They was saying hotel is fully booked. But reception staff was very good.

Omg where to start the place should be closed down it’s disgusting rooms are filthy with mouse traps in them carpets and walls filthy beds and pillows are so old I got bitten all over my body by something it’s mainly full of homeless people I would highly recommend staying away from here
