Great price for a overnight stay, the room was clean and the bed comfortable, and easy to navigate to from the train station. I can't for the life of me think why a room would need 18 individual plug sockets? The negative side is the rooms are small and compact with no windows for fresh air which makes the room very hot and there is no air conditioning. We where rudely awakened by building works going on directly outside our room and could also hear carpet cleaners going in the room below. The was no hot water on our arrival and through out the rest of the evening, so wasn't able to freshen up until the following morning. The staff where friendly and attentive, but overall disappointing.

Two Tiny towels, only two pillows for two people and they did give us more when asked but were kinda grumpy about it. No shampoo or conditioner. If your bank is not from the UK. Pay in advance before you come or bring cash to pay for your stay. NonUK bank cards not accepted. That said, the stay was great. Best breakfast provided that I ever had. Staff was very apologetic about the corporate decision on cards and was extremely helpful in all other matters.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The room it self, while clean was incredibly hot so it wasn’t comfortable. There were fans but all that did was push warm air around. There was also no bedside or small lighting which meant you either had a very bright overhead light on or left in darkness.
It was convenient for the station and to get into London but based on not sleeping well due to the heat I wouldn’t stay here again.

Bad reviews not accurate.

Me and my friend were looking for a cheap hotel and we found this. At first we were nervous because we had seen some bad reviews, but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was small but it was enough for us, the room looked new and smelled new. The train station was 2 minutes from the hotel which was super helpful. Honestly, no complaints perfect for 2 people that just wants somewhere to stay

I was check in late night 2 week ago, when i do payment with credit card, front desk is told me that hotel is not accepted payment with credit card unless transfer or cash. Thanks god i have cash ready to payment 1st night. And then next morning before 11am, they keep asking me for rest payment for my another day stay. Payment system is disappointed, no ac. Stay away from room 108, next to street, very noise, people talk loud til 2am. I have to open window because no ac, totally cant sleep well for 3 night.

Great little hotel with good transport links.

Room was to a great strandard, very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Very fast access to the rail network and a wetherspoons just one minute down the road. Staff were very freindly and made sure we had everything we needed.

Only small negative was the bed was very very firm so i slept poorly. If i had stayed more than just the night i would have asked about this but as we were only here for the one night it didn't really mattet and definitely didnt affect my overall experience here

Overall for the price and how close it is to the rail station i would stay there again, but perhaps ask for a duvet to lay on our matress next time which im sure the very attentive staff would have been more than happy to help us with.

This is a character-limited review.

My family recently stayed in room 204 at the Best Western Greater London, from July 7-11.

You could miss it, as it blends in so easily with its neighbourhood. Its frontage is combined with neighbouring shops.

Having mostly traveled in Canada and the US, the room was small compared to our \"usual\" (but fully as-described). We managed with the available space.

No matter the time of day, the friendly staff was ready to help with needs like keeping items cool or frozen for us (the rooms don't have mini fridge/freezers). One of the team (a manager?), Gonzalo, even personally came to handle a couple of small problems with the Wi-Fi and an unexpected odour from the toilet. They also stored our bags on our last day, so we could tour unencumbered.

A small issue notable in the room is that quite a few plastic screw covers have been broken, but not replaced. I hope they'll fix that soon. It's mostly an aesthetic issue, but clean, smooth surfaces tend to look nicer than broken caps, covers, etc. More inconvenient is the lack of sufficient shelf space in the washroom. I kept my toiletries bag on the window ledge, but was constantly worried it would fall out of the downward-facing window.

This was also the first time I had ever experienced a hotel without air conditioning. Once again, we knew this when we booked.

Overall, BW Greater London was nothing MORE, nor less than I would expect from the Best Western nameplate. I can easily recommend it.

The stay was terrible, I did not wanted to stay in the hotel at all and regretted my decision. Giving it 2 star only because of the customer service, the hotel staff were very nice and accommodating. The rooms were extremely sub standard, and we had to change two rooms. The previous rooms did not have working lamps and had a bad smell. Breakfast was not worth having due to very limited options and even the food was not fresh and felt like tinned food. This hotel should not be associated with Best Western in my opinion or rectify their hotel star rating to 2 star.

The first room we were given was insanely small, dated & hot and only had fan that went to medium speed alongside a tiny window for ventilation. So we went to reception asking for our money back as we were not comfortable staying at the hotel. However the employee Icrah (apologies if spelt incorrectly or not correct name I can’t remember fully) was most helpful when went downstairs to query about a refund. She showed us 5 other alternative rooms until we were satisfied it was suitable for us & even gave us extra fans and brought up the new keycard to the room for us. For the price it does the job & is extremely however I would only recommend if all you plan to do is sleep there and not spend free time there as it is not the most comforting place to be.

Hotel is located a very short walk from Ilford station which affords a quick and easy access to Central London on Elizabeth Line. Plenty of shops, cafes and restaurant around plus the hotel has one in the foyer

Avoid if you are traveling by car

We arrived to find the Hotel on a busy London road with no place for vehicles to stop for a few hundred yards at least. I double parked at risk in order to run in and ask where their parking is, I was directed to a sister property a couple of blocks away. I arrived there to find no parking either but an employee moved their vehicle so that we could park. I had emailed prior to my arrival and was reassured that there would be a parking space. The hotel was clean and in good condition. Our room was hot so we opened our windows for some fresh air. We had a flight early next am so went to bed at 930pm for a 445am wake up. We listened to the people in the next building talking and yelling till about midnight along with the tv in the next room. At 430am we had someone walking around upstairs loudly but we were on the top floor, I suspect it might be living quarters for the staff? We slept terrible and it made for an extremely long day today with our travel. In addition the traffic noise was non-stop but we were unable to close our windows due to the room being very hot.

Manager is efficient and fair with dealing with issues. For example, I’d asked for someone to remove a dirty old pair of underwear that was on the landing outside my window which was dealt with swiftly! I was also considering furthering my stay and he explained options clearly.

On Expedia it did say “access to a nearby indoor pool” this was not the case and disappointed my 13 year old son somewhat as he loves to swim!

I did not like the breakfast I’d brought from the cafe. Enjoyed the fresh orange juice. However the buffet breakfast which I saw in the morning did look nice.

I really loved the placement and some of the designs of the mirrors around the hotel. Also, there were other design elements I liked.

Overall decent stay.

When i arrived at the hotel to check in i was told to pay £100 deposit, which i was not aware of. At 1:30am the fire alarm went off and again at 7:30am, the fire alarm went off again. The worst i have never and ever experienced and the security deposit amount is unacceptable, which is more than triple of the room booked amount, which is over helmet for ordinary people. While checking out the deposit amounts bot on an immediate return basis , I have to wait for 3 to working days. I was asked £50 deposite on arrival, the person who was at the reception said if im not willing to deposit £50 that i have to leave the property in a very harsh manner, already the amount i paid for a single night (£179) is extremely expensive for a very small room like that. I also been told on arrival breakfast serve until 10am in the morning considering that went downstairs at 9:45am however the person in the kitchen said they stopped serving at 9.30am. When booking I thought I was coming to stay at a Best Western hotel. Sadly it was Best Western by name only. The room small but was ok for a night. It was a little further out from central London than I thought but a little more research would of corrected this. There is no bar to enjoy a relaxing drink and your breakfast area is in the recpetion area. We booked breakfast thinking it was going to be a full english as photographed on their website. However cereal, toast, jams , fruit, cheese & hard boiled eggs was all that was on offer. If a full english was available we werent told. We were informed of breakfast times but nothing more than this. We arrived very late so at the time we werent aware that the reception area was our breakfast area, we werent told this either. Upon arrival they take a deposit which im ok with. However, on leaving you are then told it will take 3-5 working days to be returned to you which im not happy about. In todays world of technology there are better ways to secure these desposits without leaving the customer £50 out of pocket for almost a week. If your looking for a stop gap for a night its fine & if you want a basic breakfast its fine but sadly not Best Western at its best.

I drove down 4 hours from my home place there wasn’t enough parking and I explained to the hotel prior to booking that I wanted enough parking for 2 vehicles as I would used the hotel all the time

Advertised as having parking but only had the equivalent of a front driveway on a property that was a 3 minute walk away which is used by the other 2 best western properties in the area. So odds are you will not be able to park on it. Street parking is single yellow lines so you must be out before the wardens start work i had conflicting information from people some said 6:30 other 8:30 i wasnt taking a risk there so had to get up early and move my van. After a hard days work i tried to get a shower only to find there was no hot water called reception who said he would check the boiler and ring me back an hour later there was still no hot water so tried reception again, he cofirmed it was the boiler and try again in 15 minutes an hour after that it was still stone cold and had to be up extra early to move the van so had to give up and go without a shower Not impressed!

Firstly, I turned up at this property to see it was closed and that I had to go to another sister hotel on Argyle street. I wasn’t told this when booking. I would have expected someone to call me or message me to inform me of this before my stay. The hotel room we then got put into, the ceiling wa so low that we had to bend down to walk around. It walking distance from Ilford Train Station. A lot of restaurants at walking distance. Breakfast was great!

Very friendly, great value

The welcome and professionalism of the front desk would put some 5 start hotels to shake. I was really impressed

The decor in the rooms may be a bit dated bit they're really well maintained and everything was spotlessly clean

Quite remarkable value for a hotel that's three minutes' walk from a station with fast and very frequent services to cereal London. (I was in Ilford for a meeting so it was even more convenient)

Best Western should accept a computer payment

I paid £43 for two nights through Hotels.com only to be told two hours after check in, that a mistake had been made, and I should pay £30 more. I also had to deposit a £20 refundable payment. The counter staff told me that I should claim the money back from Hotels.com. On the morning of check out, the female counter staff did not seem to be the slightest bothered by my request of the twenty pound refund. Very poor service.

AVOID disgusting hotel and service

Th hotel is on a high street very noisy scary and rough, rooms smell and not comfortable, reception or help desk is no help, people shouting and screaming across the corridors!! Had my child with me who has asthma so the strong smoke smell throughout the hotel and room didn’t help! Through the night it’s not just smoke smell but u can smell people smoking drugs!! it’s disgusting service and hotel I’m highly disappointed avoid, there are other best western (sister) hotels one street behind and two further 5 mins walk I did go in there looked better but we just weren’t able to get a room there as they were all full.. **PLEASE AVOID** more so if you are with children

Good comfortable and friendly hotel.

Use this hotel whenever I am in the area. There was a slight problem with a very noisy snorer in an adjacent room, which meant I had little sleep. But this won’t put me off staying here again.
