What made my stay enjoyable was the Absolutely LOVELY Staff who work there.

The hotel is badly in need of a complete refurbishment. It is tired and old fashioned.

Had bed and breakfast, I arrived at breakfast about half hour before the finishing time. As there were no tables had to sit in the lounge area. Order was taken, had to walk back and forth just to get milk for tea, then had to ask for butter. Only asked for scrambled egg and bacon and it took ages and didn’t want it by the time it came

Great hotel - good value for money!

Thoroughly enjoyed my 24 hours here, every staff member was super friendly and helpful.. I came very unprepared forgetting my toothbrush & phone charger but they had both covered with a smile.. was really impressed with the food (3 ladies all really enjoyed our meals), spa was nice with pool, steam, sauna and jacuzzi / hydro pool. It’s all a little dated overall but you can use it for the rest of the day even after you check out! Rooms came with irons (always a bonus), tea / coffee & biscuits, the bed was really comfy. I thought the stay was really good value for money… loved it!

Staff were extremely well trained and friendly, we felt all the staff that we came across went out of their way to look after us. The facilities in the Health and Spa centre were impressive, we were given a nice tour. Parking was easy, plenty of spaces. A lovely hotel for a short stay in a great location would definitely recommend.

We had a great stay at the hotel, the room was comfortable, good range of tea and coffees.

There was no running water when we checked in (and disappointing that we weren't told this at the check.in desk) but it was resolved within the hour.

No robe and towel for the spa in the room so we had to dash back and forth there.

The spa should close at 8pm on Saturdays but we were asked to leave at 7.40. This was made up for by being able to use the spa after check out the following day.

The breakfast was delicious, especially thw sausages.

A good night staying here just before Christmas. Restaurant was outstanding. Bar area could do with attention to Ambience….it was very lacking…the only comfortable armchairs were taken all evening so the only option for a drink was either the very unromantic stools….or the massive soulless bar room with bright lights and not much else….no fire no nothing. We stayed in the room instead of the bar for this reason.

Very underwhelming. The room was quite basic, dated but comfortable and clean. There was a lot of dust by the spa. The spa facilities were tired, small and very busy with people using the gym which I’m assuming is open to non guests.
There were families in some of the rooms which meant that the loud noises and screaming/ banging made for a very un-relaxing evening. Quite the opposite of what I expect from a spa. Thankfully the lovely and very helpful reception staff upgraded me to a new, quieter room. The breakfast again was very underwhelming. Where it said plum tomatoes with the full English, it was a a pretty raw basic shop tomato.

This was a very nice place to stay. The staff were very nice and the food was great but unfortunately we did not get the relaxing break we intended to as we were woken up by horrendously loud creaking floorboards from people walking around in the room above at 5.30 am ! The creaks were so loud and constant they kept us awake . We reported this to reception but no apology and nothing done to rectify.
Would not stay in room 12 again.

Very disappointed with our room. Paid for an executive double room. Had no view as windows were frosted and the shower was rubbish. Great If you was 5 foot but for me the head was at my chest and it flooded the bathroom. Also I called ahead as it was my partners birthday to have a card at dinner or in the room to make it a little special for her and we got nothing. Disappointed to say the least. d

Staff are all very helpful with Ella and Ellie standing out for service. Lovely big gym and Swimming facilities, pool arrangements are a little confusing but this is due to Covid. Property could do with a few areas looking at like the tape on the window in the dining room and signage around the hotel. We found it difficult to find our way to and from Spa. Plenty of signs if you are in certain rooms.

A picturesque and pleasent Manor House hotel set in beautiful grounds. The staff from beginning to end were warm, friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome and as we were celebrating our anniversary, the simple extra touches made the experience unique!!
Met Cliff -Manager who too, with ALL the staff were amazing!! Masssge and Spa day was great and afternoon tea a 'must' in the grounds
Room was clean and comfortable and food great. All in all a wonderful time spent with wonderful people.

This is a very nice hotel but there were 2 things that annoyed me:
1. The meal in the restaurant was the most expensive meal I have purchased in over a year at over £60... and I stay in hotels for 1 or 2 nights per week, every week with my line of work. I'd expect the meal to cost around £40 -£45 for what I received. £11.50 for a glass of white wine of unknown origin seemed excessive.
2. The bedroom door had very large gaps around it and the hallway was quite cold (mid winter, frosty night), so the drafts meant I could not warm the bedroom. I overcame this by stacking the cushions that had been on the bed along the floor of the door and half way up the side. It didn't fix the problem but did reduce it.

Overall this is a nice place to stay. However, the room we were allocated (room 9) was right by the lift, so we suffered from the associated noise. If we hadn’t have gotten to the venue fairly late I would have asked to have been moved.
The staff were all friendly and welcoming but as we were going to an event locally in the evening and had an early start the following day, we didn’t try the restraunt or any of the facilities.

From reception to check out lovely staff. Friendly helpful . Great spa gad a lovely swim and sauna .dinner was great .I had Mushroom and pearl barley risotto. Very well cooked and big portion.wine quite pricey and mo tomato juice for a bloody Mary!. Restaurant staff very attentive. Comfortable room bed could have bee6a king size. Breakfast lovely had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Room had ironing board nice selection of teas. Powerful shower.
Definitely be back in summer enjoy the outside spaces .

All the staff were young, very efficient and helpful, could not rate them high enough. We were only there one night but it was excellent. From Reception, bar, dining room and leisure suite, everyone was great.

Only issue really were the roads getting there which are quite narrow and not easy in the dark. But only 7 miles from Bluewater if you want to combine with shopping.

Friendly staff and nice old building. We stayed in a suite, but when compared to other suites we've previously stayed in it was very small and there wasn't much extra provided in the room. Tv was positioned so low to the ground that you couldn't see the screen when in bed. This could easily be rectified by putting tv on the wall. Red mould on tiles in bathroom. Black mould behind silver plug on bath. Dust in bedroom. Only one dressing gown was provided even though there were 2 guests. Ate in restaurant and food was good other than one cold desert which was replaced but sadly the plate was cold which meant the 2nd desert brought wasn't much warmer but thankfully the custard was warm and tasted nice. Just a shame things weren't better considering the amount paid for the room. Could of complained but didn't want to ruin our stay.

Great diet retreat!!!

As a resident I was amazed to learn that I couldn't book a restaurant table on the evening of my stay.

I was advised that the restaurant was fully booked and they couldn't take any more orders in case people stayed at their table longer.

I was told that I could order from the bar menu and when I asked about ordering from the restaurant menu in the bar was told this would be ok.

When I came down to the bar the only place to eat was in the tiny bar area and from low tables. The bar staff knew nothing about ordering from the restaurant menu and were even more clueless about the beers they had.

The reason for only being able to use the bar was because a 70th party in a private function rooms had occupied the lounge area.

I checked the restaurant 3 times during the evening and there were plenty of free tables.

It was obvious the focus was on catering for the birthday party rather than getting more staff to cater for their actual guests.

The hotel is remote there is nothing nearby to get food from and I usually book this hotel so that I can have a beer whilst at Brands and don't have to drive afterwards.
I posted a check in review on booking.com an was met by the general manager upon checking out who to be fair offered me a form of consolation but in hind sight I still feel the hotel were more interested in making money from the birthday do than focusing on their r
guests.

I'd add that as a diabetic this situation is not acceptable!

great in many ways - but maybe eat elsewhere...

The staff on the front desk and housekeeping were exceptional (gold stars awarded) and made my visit. bar staff were lovely when you could find them. A hotel of this size only had one open bar - no good if there is a wedding on but other guests want a drink or somewhere to sit that wasnt part of the wedding party.
the biggest thing that let it down was the food quality. eggs benedict was an untoasted muffin (hard going to chew), one slice of packet machine cut preformed plastic ham (tasteless and full of preservatives), swimming in jar bought hollandaise sauce (very nice and I didnt mind the quantity) over two beautifully poached eggs. Very poor value for the price - but the good staff balanced out the bad

We arrived late on Sunday night to enjoy a quite relaxing evening to be kept awake by a very loud disco from a wedding reception happening just under our room. After the music had stopped we were then kept awake by a van bring loaded up right outside.
Woke up very tired and not rested.

Upon arrival we were booked in by an extremely nice helpful gentleman who was going to show us to our room but a lady stepped in and said she would take us but she simply took us to the bottom of the stairs and pointed us in the right direction. There was then a problem with the light switch.
Breakfast service was very disorganised it would be better for staff to have designated tables. Ourselves and other customers having to repeatedly request our orders.
Sleep was disturbed on both nights by loud talking especially on the Sunday night when we were disturbed at 0300 by drunken visitors speaking and arguing we did call the night reception. Then we were again disturbed by an outbreak of foul language by at least one female. I did feel sorry for the staff who had to deal with this particular person and possibly the larger group. I didn't expect to encounter the above considering the price we paid to stay here.

We stayed here for my niece's wedding and while the hotel had some charm and the beds were comfortable, it is right by the motorway. Added to this, the shower was faulty, and we couldn't get anything better than a lukewarm shower. I did report this on the first night and the next morning and finally, on the morning of the wedding, they gave use of a key to a different room to shower there. They did suggest moving there, but the room had frosted windows as it looked out onto the M20! Not how we wanted to spend three days of vacation. They need to be more responsive - you can't bill yourself as a really nice hotel and then not deal with an issue like this - also, it took three times to get any response.....they should do better. I don't mind paying extra for a nice place, but you need to keep your side of this deal and offer the services you advertise.

A great hotel. Lovely location. Great to have a free upgrade on arrival. Just were a little slow at check in and the room was not ready to go in, after the 3pm check in time. Was left waiting for 15 minutes after 3pmbefore being acknowledged the room was ready. Overall impressed and will be back again in the future.

Pleasant hotel with spa facilities which were pretty good. The main bar/lounge could be re figured a bit as it consists of a small bar part leading onto a large uninviting area. You need a car as it's not possible to walk from the hotel - it sits back from a busy road. The staff are good and the breakfast
is excellent. The restaurant is good but perhaps a bit pricey.

Not worth the money spent. The hotel is meant to be 4stars but we had to carry our luggages 3 flights of stairs up and back down ourselves. Staff would love to help but for a tip of course. The restaurant is overpriced and the waitress serving us was so sour, it made the whole experience unpleasant. We had booked spa treatments which was also terribly overpriced for what you get. This was meant to be a nice getaway to celebrate our anniversary. We picked a handpicked hotel after rave reviews from friends, but we wished we picked somewhere else. What a great disappointment it was! Our friends who joined us for dinner and spa treatment thought so too.

What a refreshing 24 hours.

We booked this up as a stayover for a trip down to the South Coast. What a relaxing and enjoyable time we had. This was our first time at a spa-hotel, and we will make it a feature. The place is lovely, but convenient for the M25, the staff were welcoming, the room luxurious, the faciliites lovely, the food very tasty. We couldn't think of anything negative to say about our experience or even less than glowing. We hope to come back.

Ineffective barman but nice hotel

Lovely hotel, nice food, great staff; however my visit was rather spoiled by a group of 6 or so men in the bar effin and jeffin all of the time and the barman laughing along embarrassingly.

Business Stay

Stayed here on business and my partner joined me. While I was in meetings all day the hotel staff and health club staff went out of the way to make my partner who was not feeling great at the time welcome, comfortable and relaxed. The hotel staff, rooms and open areas are very clean, tidy and fresh. Very pleased with our stay and would definitely come back for both business and leisure stays.

Room with no view

Hotel OK, friendly staff, room - heated towel rail in bathroom not working - operated by switch by bed!? Reception did send someone immediately to show us where switch was. Wasn't obvious in the first instance but quickly sorted.
