A charming, family-friendly hotel just off the M26 motorway with a health club and pool. Holiday Inn® Maidstone - Sevenoaks hotel is near Junction 2A on the M26 and close to the M20.

With the Eurotunnel only 40 miles away, our hotel is ideally placed if you’re driving to Europe. Borough Green & Wrotham railway station is five minutes by car, and it’s a 45-minute drive to Gatwick Airport (LGW).

Discover the moat, the hedge maze and 900 years of history at Leeds Castle, or go on a shopping spree at the open-air Fremlin Walk in Maidstone, both a short drive away. You’re also handy to the greens and fairways of Woodland Manor Golf Course.

We have 11 naturally lit event spaces for 10 to 120 guests, including a function room with a private bar. Our events team is happy to take care of catering.

So this is a mixed review,
Good points, staff were very good, hotel itself no complaints, food was decent.

Bad points, unfortunately the hotel had a group of uncivilised guests staying, feral kids running up and down the halls until nearly 3am, when phoning the desk to report this, they was unable to offer much help, it took us to confront the kids and “parents” to get this sorted, not our idea of a relaxing hotel stay.

Arrived late evening. Reception staff was friendly and helpful. We were given a disabled room on the ground floor (we did not request this) The room was cold and the heating would not work. The bathroom was more like a hospital cubicle. The room remained cold overnight and it was only at 18°C this morning.

From an incredibly friendly welcome the staff were wonderful throughout I must say.

The room as a good size, clean and tidy, the bed very comfortable (and huge) and the air con worked really well.

Be careful you don't leave anything behind

Hotel definitely seen better days, and was given twin room when paid for double - was informed they can swap rooms if they want to. Not great when you are 6'4\" trying to fit in a single bed.

The main reason why I wouldn't return here though is because I left my brand new £80 toothbrush in the bathroom, and realised this on my journey home. Called the hotel within 4 hours of checking out, only to be told that it wasn't there. So basically it had disappeared between me shutting the locked door at 8am and the call at noon. You make your own mind up what happened to it... Suffice to say I've stayed at many other places that don't have this issue.

Perfect location for the my stay. Rooms were nice and the staff were very kind and helpful. The following morning breakfast was superb, coupled with a visit to the swimming pool and spa certainly set me up for a perfect day. I shall certainly be returning again if I am in the area.

The property is run down and really needs refurbishing, although the room was as clean as it could be. The carpet was stained and damaged and the furniture well worn. We had strange sliding shutters at the window instead of curtains and when they were closed it felt a little like a prison cell! The bed was comfortable though and the room was quiet so we had a decent nights sleep. We only stayed one night after an event at Brands Hatch but wouldn't stay there again if in the area. Not worth the money paid.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for anyone with mobility issues or young children. I had a pram for my 6-month-old and had to navigate two staircases to reach my room, as there was no lift. Once at the room, I couldn’t even push the pram through the door due to a poorly placed doorstop limiting the entryway. The room and bathroom were very dated, though the beds were comfortable. On the positive side, the breakfast and pool were good.

Well maintained & clean property, some areas (rooms & hall walls) were tired & in need of a refresh but did not deter from a lovely stay.
Great food at the hotel (even on restricted menu there was lots of choice), nice swimming pool & facilities. Room was very comfortable & quiet, staff were friendly & accommodating. Excellent location too.

Heating in room had failed and was reported to desk. Returned to room later to find a small plug in heater had been supplied. This heater was too small for the room leading to an uncomfortable night.

Hotel also charges for parking which I have never known before at Holiday Inn locations I have stayed at.

Back to the cheaper Premier Inn just down the road

Great family weekend break, close to transport links for a day visit to London. We used the hotel spa every day with our 3 children (5-12 YRS). The staff were superb and the family feel was excellent the children loved the buffet on Friday night. Would definitely consider a return visit.

The Receptionist was wonderful.

The young ladies that brought our room service were wonderful.

The young gentleman at the bar was wonderful and went out of his way to be helpful.

Our daughter’s age of 14 was on record yet there was no extra tea cup or tooth mug for her, and there was no extra pillow for her for the sofa bed.

The choice and amount of complimentary biscuits was extremely limited, same with the tea and sugar(once again no inclusion for my 14 year old daughter), and herbal tea such as peppermint would have been welcomed.

The Full English Breakfast really was the best ever, and this hotel has one up on others with the fabulous pancake machine.

Would definitely stay at a Holiday Inn hotel again👍

I won't return nor recommend.

Possibly the worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in as an IHG member who stays on a regular basis. In need of refurbishment. Tired and dated but firstly our room 165 was in need of a major CLEAN and revamp. The bathroom plug was completely rusted and off putting , hence I didnt use the bath or shower. The shaving mirror was corroded, there was a considerable level of dust on the toilet roll holder. The bedroom carpet was old and strained. The staircase which led to the bedroom had numerous stains when we arrived and were still there the following day when we checked out the following day. The restuarant where we had breakfast also had cleanliness issues. I picked up at least 6 glasses for my orange juice without finding one that was clean! A lady called Charlotte was on duty and she was absolutely suberb at dealing with the problem. She is a tremendous asset to the Hotel. The pancake machine wasn't working and immediately she offered to have some made in the kitchen for me.

No plug sockets by beds but short extension leads provided when requested.

Good hotel public areas and pool nice and modern. Room was a bit tired. Had a family room but required walking down several hallways and up two separate stairways. Dragging children and luggage that far was a bit difficult. However, would stay again.

As its promised that next day they help clean and changed beddings, we didnt get that because the kids had spilled juice on the covers and they still used the same beddings the sofar covers were not given duvets. Realised at bedtime when putting kids to bed. Room was not swept at all the next day.

Dinning they could not offer us warm milk for cereals for the kids, the kitchen attendants said they dont do that, egg selection for breakfast, would be nice to have some boiled eggs too and they also said they cant make us weldone eggs.

The front desk were doing their best but check out with one person on shift, took a long time. Bar and meal was fine, spa too but hotel is grubby and in need of renovations. Bed linen clean but walls dirty, chairs fading bits peeling off, shutters ancient it just looks dated.

Did not meet expectations.

Checked in ok with friendly desk staff. Offered assistance with luggage as the room was up 2 fights of stairs (no lift). Massive bed in a pleasant room. We had breakfast both days. Breakfast was poor. Hash browns and black pudding were very overcooked, probably there since before it opened at 6.30. We had breakfast at 8.30. We booked this hotel because it had a swimming pool. But was met with a sign that said swimming pool closed until further notice, no explainatuon. So overall was not the experience we expected.

The hotel staff were fabulous and helpful. The restaurant food for dinner was unexpectedly good and the service was excellent. A great full breakfast too. Unfortunately, there is no lift therefore it is difficult to manage luggage. There are 3 floors and we were on the 3rd. The bathroom was funky and in need of updating and we were told that was happening next year. The rest of the hotel was updated nicely. Lovely exterior spaces and the interior public spaces were spacious.

Infestation of carpet bugs on floor and beds

Arrived late, no one on reception, long wait to get checked in. Room on second floor, but no lift.
Room 219. Room was unclean, infestation of carpet bugs, on beds, walls and under pillows. Large spider and large webs on wall. Spent an hour squashing bugs behind beds, on pillows and floor. Would have requested room change but children too tired and bugs were seen in corridors, so didn’t want to start the process again of clearing them in another room.
Carpet was unclean, there was food under the bed.
Room was freezing.
En suite run down, mouldy.
Hardly slept.
Would never stay here again.

Basic rooms for a Holiday in, Expensive for what it is !! Not good view from the bedrooms, Not much to do around. Luckily we were only there for one night as we were playing in a Charity Golf ⛳️ day and the Golf course was only three miles away from the hotel. I booked 4 rooms.

I called room service several times and no one ever picks up the phone and same with reception. I forgot to pack slippers, When I finally got through I was told they don’t have slippers or even the disposable ones !! When checking out there were few maintenance workers standing around the receptionist and to fight my way through to speak to receptionist to check out and no applogy from any of them !!

I have stayed in lots of hotels around the UK well as world. But found the stay here unpleasant unfortunately!!!

Ok hotel

The hotel is nice and the people there.are polite and helpful. The hotel is dated and worn down except in the common areas of the lobby. It will need a facelift very soon as there was a lot of rust in the metallic surfaces of the bedroom.
Pool was ok, but the area around it was small so only 3 loungers and a couple of chairs.
Breakfast was ok but chaotic.
Unfortunately we woke to the fire alarm going off due to a burst pipe. Maybe that was also rusted like other areas of the bedrooms?
Food at the restaurant was average.

The staff were brilliant and helpful. Our room left a lot to be desired. It was so shabby and outdated. There was dust everywhere and there were so many stains on the wall. If we were staying longer than 2 nights I definitely would have complained. We were in a family room of 2 double beds and a single sofa bed, the room was spacious but unfortunately the bathroom was so tiny, it just didn’t make sense.
As above, the staff were helpful and kind and the breakfast was delicious. We made use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna but unfortunately we encountered so many plasters in the pool and the jacuzzi had yellow stains. I honestly felt sick seeing this. Will not be returning again.

Would like to start by saying the front of house where so welcoming and friendly. Lovely ladies. The room was a complete let down. I was taking my wife out for a little treat for her Birthday. Family stay. Upgraded to an executive room so we each had a double bed. The room was just so poor. Best to see pictures. All walls, switches marked or dirt, cobwebs, Paint in bathroom pealing, mirror have started delaminating at the back.
I travel for work and stay in a range of business hotels. This was by far the worst I have stayed in. Would have given it a mid 2 stars. Look at photo's ( would not let me load all the pictures. Came home after going out for dinner, at least +10 rats running round.
On a positive - fridge and Nespresso machine in room. Pool and sauna nice but need some attention. Staff really nice - Overall the room quality shocking (231) Suggest manager visit and look at it as a paying guest would.
