Room is clean but quite run down, TV has a very small screen, only has 2 channels and not displaying images clearly. There is WiFi but signal is weak inside the room. We have no idea there is no toothbrush, toothpaste or slippers provided, so had to go barefoot and sleep without brushing teeth since no shops were open late at night! Receptionist also refused to provide more bottles of water in the morning of the day of check out. The good things are (1) breakfast cafe served really good chicken rice, (2) hotel provides free airport shuttle till 9pm each day, and (3) late check-out till 1pm is allowed.

Nice hotel close to town, with nice little restaurant in the lobby. Easy to get around town from. Staff was helpful in letting me change rooms when the wifi wasn’t great in my first room, which I greatly appreciated. Sofi at the front desk was incredibly nice and helpful in answering questions and offering advice.

Things that i like is the location. It's within walking distance to the main attractions. Staff is kind and rooms are spacious. Didn't like...elevators were under repair, yet they gave us a room on the 4th floor. Moldy smell from the stairwell and paint falling of the walls. Building is old, needs lots of renovation. Bad odor coming from the sewer pipes. WiFi is terrible. Either getting disconnected or constantly lagging. Breakfast is very simple. The worst part about my trip was although they offer free airport service, i was charged $60 US dollars to be picked up from the airport. The hotel is only a 20 minute drive from the airport. When i asked for an explanation. I was told free service only applies if I go from the hotel to the airport. This makes absolutely no sense. Free airport service means free airport service. Will never stay here again

Excellent budget hotel

This place isn’t flash but doesn’t pretend to be. Compared to the other hotels in BSB it is very well priced.
My room was quiet and clean and it was a very short walk to the centre of BSB. Wifi was reasonably reliable.
The staff were very helpful and there is a mini mart and a cafe on the ground floor which were both good.
The room price includes an airport pickup or drop off and my driver gave me a short overview of the town on the way back.

Wonderful, wonderful. I was in Brunei on the King's birthday and there was a night market within walking distance. It was fun. Unfortunately I was ill during my entire stay but Jubilee staff were kind and understanding. Shuttle service was great. I would stay here anytime I am in Brunei. If I stay again I will upgrade to a better room although sick as I was my room was fine. Later I saw there is a water view for pennies more. Clean, kind, comfortable.

Relatively cheap hotel in the heart of BSB

This hotel was very nice and clean, staff was very nice, and wifi is secure. The rooms include a minifridge, aircon, toiletries, and a free newspaper. Airport transportation is included during the day and available for a small fee after hours. The hotel has a cafe and minimart on the first floor. The hotel is very close to the Kianggeh market which has cheap food/drinks during the day.

But. ..not a place to stay for a long,for a night you can compromise,not for any longer.Small room with a double bed,very old tv wich can't be watched as no quality, the phone didn't work.Huge wardrobes ,a bit too much for that small room ,while there is not enough room to move around,plugs dangerously hanging down,

Like a Motel, but Apartment-sized

We hated it here, but there were some good points.

Pros:
- Free Airport Shuttle, if you request it.
- Strong WiFi (login directly to one of the two routers on each floor. None of that nonsense of registering on a web browser).
- Long-lasting toilet paper (seriously, I've been having issues at our other hotels with prematurely running to the end of the roll).
- Lovely Staff
- 5 minute walk to the waterfront. (You will likely get accosted by a few persistent boat-men in the canal.)

Cons (get comfortable, this will take a while):
- Dust mites EVERYWHERE. We got upgraded as our booked room was unavailable, but I assume this room hadn't been used in a while. We did not trust any surface, and were too paranoid to leave our suitcases open in case they got in.
- The Smell. Especially after a shower, but the room smells really musty and sewery.
- Lumpy hard pillow and holes in the base mattress.
- No jug provided. I'm okay with no complementary water bottles - but at least provide a jug so that I can boil water to fill up my empty bottles.
- Everything is so old. Basically, the first thing I thought when we walked in was \"Psycho\".
- Really old and loud Air Con units.
- No bathmat provided. It's a bit scary stepping out of the bath after a shower. However, the staff happily brought up an extra towel for us.

- NB: Don't buy bread from the convenience store downstairs. The first breadloaf we reached for was mouldy. The loaf we actually bought had a dead bug inside.

This hotel is an apartment building. Suite has living room, bedroom and spacious bathroom with bathtub, but no kitchen even it has a clean Central market behind it. Hot water bottle is available at the front desk.

Hotel is in central part of Bengar Seri Bagawan. It is near the water village, Mosque, Royal Regalia Museum, central bus terminal, shopping centers,...

Hotel has a free airport shuttle service (reservation by email).
Convenient store and restaurant are on the first floor.
Restaurant has discount menu.

The hotel offers free shuttle to and from the airport which is a wonderful service.I emailed the hotel of our arrival date and time and the driver was waiting with our name.The hotel also offered a free city tour of 45 mins and each day you can have a shuttle to one sight. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. The hotel is situated such that you can visit all the sights by walks of about 10 to 20 minutes.I must say that the hotel is old and as such the rooms are very dated and in need of renovation, but the rooms are clean. It is a budget hotel as they tell you, so do not expect any extras in the room. Brunei was expensive so it helped having a reasonable room. The breakfast was western food but they were renovating the cafe and the breakfast room was just make shift in the meantime.

The executive room was huge and comfortable for a family stay. The air conditioning was excellent and comfortable. The wireless internet connection was very fast, but somehow the signal was unstable, sometimes high, sometimes low and at other times need to change to a different signal hot spot. The hotel is within a walking distance to the city center. The staff were all friendly. The room was cleaned every day even without requesting. The continental breakfast was full filling. Excellent mini market is near the lobby for urgent buying needs. Provide excellent and friendly free shuttle to and fro the airport. The hotel looks a bit old but otherwise excellent for a family stay.

The number Wotif gave did not enable me to contact the hotel to ensure the bus met me - which it didn't. So I had to take the public bus and then walk the relatively short distance to the hotel. (The taxi was $25 and the bus $1 but as there is no 'concierge' at the airport I had to rely on local advice.) So not a good start.
But when I did get to the hotel the staff were great (although strangely they said their booking had come through Expedia not Wotif). It was not mentioned on the website, but for each day you stay you get a free tour. Because of the bus mix up they gave me an extra one. However, some of these tours are to places only walking distance away but the ones I took (more distant) nonetheless they were useful - and free.
The hotel is 5-6 floors but seemingly only had a handful of guests. It is still in fair shape but its best days are behind it. The room was quite adequate - the hot water and a/c worked but the carpet needed a vacuum. Overall I thought was - by expensive Brunei standards - pretty good value.
On BSB generally, it is a bit of a weird place - for Asia anyway. Hardly any people in BSB city (although Gadong was a bit busier, uglier and more 'normal'). It is really clean with the sparse traffic really orderly. It is strongly Islamic e.g. no smoking in public and cigarette sales are banned, some signs only in Arabic even though the official language is Malay. And it is really expensive by Asian standards - on a par with Australian prices.

No were to go beside to work, mall that's very small and nothing great to eat if you're looking for something from the west good luck. KFC and Burger King. Bandar is a dry country, they don't sell alcohol or tobacco products.

Centrally located comfortable hotel

I stayed at the Jubilee hotel for 7 nights. This is an old style, budget hotel that provides everything a traveller needs. It is very close to the morning market and city bus station. The complimentary airport transfer and daily shuttles to points of interest were an unexpected bonus. The staff were helpful and the meals filling. I was upgraded to a suite which added to my enjoyment of my stay in Bandar Seri Begawan

Older moldering tower block near city center

This is one of the limited budget choices in BSB. This is a bit run down and you will find the rooms a tad moldy and showing considerable age. The staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel offers a system of free shuttles with considerable rules and limits but you can walk to most of the sights in the city. The mosque and city malls are nearby, and you can walk to supermarkets and restaurants in the city center. You can easily walk to catch a boat to cross to the stilt village. You can also easily walk to the local bus station as well as the bus stop for buses to and from Malaysia. Decent free set breakfast. For an early departure the staff arranged a takeaway breakfast for me.

This hotel is old but the room is big. It has a living room and also separate bedroom. The TV is the CRT type not the LCD/LED and it is only in the living room (not in the bedroom). The aircon can be noisy and the water pipes are rusty (the water is clear but has a faint rust smell). The breakfast is very simple set-meals and the Internet access WIFI speed is fast and reliable. The hotel price is much lower than the other neighboring hotels.

While this was the most expensive lodging that I used during my stay in Southeast Asia, it provided bonuses that made up for the higher price. The breakfast was varied and filling, the included tour was excellent, and free transportation is, on occasion, available to nearby city locations. All of the hotel staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. Their efforts ensured that my short stay in Brunei was very productive and rewarding in terms of sight seeing and cultural experience.

Stopover of flights from London to Melbourne

The hotel is dated and needs better maintenace but was clean and the staff were very good. It was within easy walking to the town and some shopping and markets. All in all for the price I got free transfers to and from airport, cooked breakfast and free wi-fi so it was good value for money and would stay there again if stopping over. Everything worked that I needed. Wasnt sure about the water though so didnt drink any from the bathroom taps.

I stayed for 2 nights and I enjoyed it. Very short walk to city centre, free airport transfer both ways, and they offer one round trip free ride per day to an attraction. The night market and the big mosque are a bit far so this really helped. And there's a convenient mini mart in the lobby!

The free airport shuttle was great, and the staff are enthusiastic and helpful. I got a free upgrade to a superior suite. Air conditioner worked great and room service was excellent and inexpensive. Only drawback was really with the breakfast -- limited menu and long wait. Construction noise behind the hotel was loud, but this of course wasn't the hotel's fault. Excellent location for those who like to walk everywhere (especially in a country with only 40 taxis total!). Recommended.

I stayed a twins room. going to centre and bus stations only 10 mins. The room is simple but clean. The staff are nice and helpful.

Good location, friendly staff

We stayed for 4 nights at the Jubilee. They make it known up front that they are a budget hotel and nothing fancy. Staff was very helpful in answering all questions.
The good things - breakfast was included, with a few different options, they even let us pre order and had it ready at 7am for us when the restaurant opened to accommodate a tour we did, beds were comfy, walking distance to the regalia museum, the water front pier, stilt village, park, one of the big mosques. They offer a driver service to select different sites around town. One free trip per night stayed which is nice for further sites. (Subject to driver availability).
Room for improvement - the cook didnt come to work the second day we had a tour and we didn't get our preordered breakfast. Our room smelled really funny, we had to open the windows to air it out every time we left it closed up. The bathroom could have been cleaner, there was some mold in the shower grout.

good location, nice staff

the room is actually old-fashioned, not that trendy, and inside the bedroom it had strange smell, but got better after use air-conditioning. no water boiler in room, but u can ask the reception for hot water, the staff from the driver, the receptionist to the housekeeper, all of them r nice and friendly.

Jubilee Magic

The staff at Jubilee provided an \"Excellent Service\", the old fashion way! Not only where they helpful but also the hotel provided little things that make the difference, for example, transport to drop and pick you up anywhere in the city. I was also amazed that they provided pick up and drop off from the airport as well as breakfast, all inclusive of the hotel rate. You also received a complementary newspaper and assistance in whatever you need as a tourist. They arranged for a tour and went our their way to ensure everything was simply perfect. In fact the only negative I can think of is that they did not tell me about a whole other range of services provided at the hotel which I would have taken had I known. Finally, I can only send the staff at Jubilee a big \"TERIMA KASIH\". I will not only go back there but I will also highly recommend Jubilee Hotel to all my friends in Australia.

If it was advertised as a two star hotel but it would be ok but miles of the standard that you look for in a four star hotel

Decent budget hotel

The hotel is definitely very clean and in a great location- about 5 minutes walk from all the sites. The breakfast is included and you can choose from a menu of about 10 items- all big and delicious! One of the hotel staff was very helpful however I found the others a little rude. I wanted to take buses/ find things and was told that it was too difficult for me to do and to only take taxis. So I went outside, it's not difficult, and did it myself. A little bit more knowledge/ helpfulness would have made my stay so much easier.

Run down, needs an overhaul

The guy at the front desk was delightful. He was very attentive, upbeat and informative even after 10pm.
Our suite was like a small apartment, separate living room, kitchen, shower & bedroom. It felt musty & was in dire need of a lick of paint. We arrived late and left early, thankfully.
The sheets were clean but the rest of the place felt grubby. We expected better for the price we paid.

Excellent Service

The hotel room is very good and very clean. They clean the room everyday and on time. The hotel staff are excellent, from the desk counter to the driver who helped us a lot. They provided free shuttle to the airport and places of interest free of charge. I will definitely come back to the hotel in my next visit to Brunei and have also recommended friends to stay at the hotel for their future trip.

Central location, clean, great value

Hotel is centrally located and easy walking to main business district and the riverside. Excellent staff. Very good breakfast (from menu, not buffet)
