All of the above are true. The staff is amazing, especially Eduardo, the coffee guy. He deserves a raise. My room was clean, modern and bright. Loved the tall ceilings and big balcony. The resort is nice and intimate. I would recommend this resort to my friends.

The room was decent but clearly dated. The sliding balcony doors wouldn’t open, which was disappointing. On the first night, we were locked out for about an hour due to a broken key reader, which was frustrating after a long day. The buffet food was underwhelming, and the champagne tasted extremely weak. The drinks overall were just okay. The resort definitely could use some upgrades and maintenance. That said, the staff was friendly and accommodating, which was a bright spot in the experience.

The room was cleaned every day and the staff was very friendly with great service. Our room was on the 2nd floor above the bar and restaurants which was convenient, but could be loud at times. The people in the green shirts were relentless in wanting to sell you a membership. They weren't happy when I told them no. We were able to take a cab to spend the day at the Wyndham Heavens but liked the Viva Tangerine beach better.

First of all, the staff cleans your room in stages. They take all your towels, wash cloths and hand towels and shower rig while you are out for breakfast. Then they don’t come to clean or replace towels until late in the day. So you are without most of the day. Then when they do come to clean and replace towels, they only leave body towels. No wash cloths, hand towels or shower rug. We had a lot of rain during our Feb3-10 stay. Not a lot of sun or beach time. All that rain came thru the ceiling of our 3rd floor, top floor, ceiling. Dropped on the bed making it unusable. Luckily we had 2 queen beds. When reported we got no response. Another big rain two days later after reporting it the first time. Now, the floor and the beds are soaked. We visited guest services and she came to our room. Actually got water dropped in her head as she leaned over to feel the wet bed. She had maintenance come to our room. He came in, looked but nothing was done for the last 2 days of our stay. Food was average and reserved restaurants food was average to poor. Good thing: Viva Tangerine is very close to the beach and the biggest sunbathing beach along the shore. So many Peddlers on the beach disturbing our time to relax. I would not return or recommend Viva Tangerine.

Food was really horrible. Bland, presentation was below standard. Pool was small and water very cold! Very few beach chairs and you couldn’t go swimming because of heavy waves. No entertainment worth while. And if you are coming for unlimited alcohol get ready to get horrible drinks! My family and I basically had to go out to eat and drink every day of our stay. And don’t get me started with rooms. Like we were staying at a motel!! Beds were creaking and uncomfortable. A/C was not really cooling in our room and the kids a/c was leaking up a storm. Called maintenance 5 and really didn’t fix the problem. Honestly regretted booking here and wish I would’ve just booked a couple of rooms at one of the smaller local hotels. Do not book or stay here. Would bot recommend!

The initial room I was assigned was filthy and smelled strongly of sewage. After complaining, I was moved to another room, which was marginally better but still felt unclean.

Staff showed little interest in guest experience and seemed primarily focused on selling timeshares. Guest Services were rarely available, and when they were, they were dismissive and ineffective.

The food was consistently poor and inedible.

This property does not meet even the most basic standards of a hotel. It felt like a mass-processing operation rather than a place focused on hospitality.

I stayed at the resort for four days, and from the moment I arrived I felt uneasy and regretted my decision. Unlike other areas of the Dominican Republic I’ve visited, this location was nerve‑wracking and unsettling. My room, situated in the main corridor, was constantly noisy with staff playing loud music, shouting, and being disruptive at odd hours. On the first day, I discovered a bloodstain on the bed cover and mattress that housekeeping never replaced, shelves crawling with ants, and a floor marked by a large spill that was never cleaned. Housekeeping did not sweep or mop, and only half‑heartedly made the bed, leaving me to shake out my own sheets. The walls showed multiple layers of paint covering mold, and construction in the adjacent room caused cracks in my walls, with debris left in the shared walkway that was never cleaned. The food was consistently terrible—burnt French toast, scorched eggs, rubbery pancakes, undercooked meat, and pasta so salty it was inedible. Even staff complained about their own food quarters. Drinks were watered down and tasted odd. On the beach, guests were relentlessly harassed by merchants returning repeatedly, making it feel more like a crowded market than a relaxing escape. To make matters worse, restaurants and activities listed on the app were unknown to staff, leaving guests confused. If I could have returned home on the first day without losing money, I would have.

The rooms were very beat up, but staff was very understanding and proactive when there were issues with my AC. The food was ok at the buffet, I usually found some things I liked (pasta salads, pasta, fruit) but a lot of it was bland or a bit sweet where I would have expected savory. The food at the Mexican restaurant was downright BAD. The food at the Italian restaurant was better. The entertainment was interesting, they definitely try to appeal to a wide audience with lots of options. Overall had a ok/good time.

We got there @ night coz our flight was delayed. Room was very basic, which was fine, we can live with that. On our 2nd day, realized the toilet tank takes forever to fill up to flush, and our balcony door doesn't lock (we're on the ground floor farthest side of the pool from lobby). They took about an hour to fix the toilet, which led to the washroom being flooded & we had to wait to be cleaned, they never got to fixing the sliding door, figured it's fine since our valuables are inside the safe until they can fix it hopefully the following day since we had to get ready for dinner expedia has set up for us.

To be fair it was raining pretty hard, but imagine our surprise when we came back to a fully flooded room as soon as you enter the hallway, all the way to the washroom & the rest of the room.

I called to change rooms coz there's no way we're sleeping in that. Then someone came with a mop! That was insane! The concierge thinking a mop can fix about an inch deep of water. I have had to explain to the guy a mop will not fix the situation.

About an hour after the 1st call, we finally got a room---after a number of follow ups, it didn't seem like it was a concern, not sure if it's because other rooms in the same building were also flooded.

The resort has been around for a while & I'm sure this wasn't the first strong rain they've had. Even if the building we're in was the oldest there (seems like with the state of it) I feel like they should've had precautionary measures

The room was OK. The food was delicious. The staff was very hospitable but every time we would go into the dining area, we had difficulty getting a table that was already set for us to be able to eat

When we first arrived, there were no towels and the phone was not working so we went to the front desk and let them know, two hours later we still have not gotten our towels, so my husband went back and told them, he had to literally get Housekeeping to give us towels.
I might consider returning because the access to the beach was perfect and the pool was quite nice.
The evening shows were well choreographed and we really enjoyed them.
The drinks were watered down unless you got a good bartender

Check-in was fabulous, quick and friendly! The room was ok, a bit dated and limited amenities, like no coffee maker in the room. The food was ok, bread was excellent. We had 6 meals and only got offered beverages twice so the staff was a bit lacking. Others appeared to have better service. There is only one bar and smokers do not abide by the non smoking area, which is most of the bar so you are always inundated with cigarette and cigar smoke, which is unpleasant. A okay place for the price.

Friendly staff overall, but poor handling of key issue and no management response

The staff were generally very friendly and welcoming — we would have rated all 5s if not for one front desk night shift employee and the lack of management follow-up.

Two nights in a row around 11 PM, our door keys stopped working. The first night, Jose sent someone to help. The second night, he refused to send assistance and insisted we walk all the way to the front desk. Thankfully, we’re healthy, but this would have been a major issue for anyone with mobility concerns. The key was not demagnetized — it was kept in my shirt pocket.

Employee was rude, and no manager was available. We submitted a complaint through Expedia requesting contact with management but never received a response.

Disappointing experience considering how kind and professional the rest of the staff were.

We were upgraded to a beautiful ocean view and enjoyed it very much. The morning staff for breakfast was not attentive to serving the gas. The vents and air ducts in the rooms needed cleaning. All in all we had a wonderful time.

I didn’t like because I have been in many resort they put water and drink in the fridge you guy don’t put any water in my room . It’s the most horrible resort you can go, nothing in the room was good, the AC was broken the little fridge didn’t work, the toilet was having issues the bed frame was broken, a light for the room had electrical cables all out that was broken too, the door to go to the balcony was stuck it was just a nightmare. The only decent thing you can say is the restaurant staff was nice and the food selection was decent not great but at least decent, the front staff there was one guy who was very rude and unprofessional. Well, the staff was very good ,security was very on point and make us feel safe, property need some renovation asap.child care was very nice .the staff on the buffet dinner was excelent patricia and yohanna was very nice excelent service. The ONLY thing i did not like was the FOOD . The food in the buffet area was horrible , i had to eat different restaurant with my family for all nights.Need cooking staff ASAP ,to be by the sea this hotel need more seafood. Also non of the phoneline work. Had to walk very far to front desk to get help in something that could've been notify with a simple call.

Upon arrival to the room, the door was open. Went to use the bathroom and there was hair on the sink. No hand towels or shower scrub towels. Itbwas raining that day and noticed the guest had umbrellas. Called in to find out how to get umbrella and was told there should be 1 in the room. No umbrella. So i called in to request itema. Had to call 1 hour later to find out whats going on?

We had no working A/C for the entire stay. I had to request a fan to get by, and the fan was broken and stuck on the slowest speed. I had a medical emercency and my room phone did not work the entire stay.
I asked SEVERL TIMES TO CORRECT conditions, but they just did not. was fixed. DO NOT STAY HERE, FOOD WAS HORRIBLE, AND JUST UNSAFE!

I arrived at 5pm and was told my room was not ready. Check in was at 3pm after two hours my room was still not ready. Later the room given to my family and I the first issue was the ac was not working properly. Complained to the front desk more than five times to either change my room or check the ac unit. The front desk representatives didn't want to give us a new room. Had to request to speak to the manager, Ms. Anna S. Ended up giving us a new room after all the run around. The second issue was the little fridge was not cooling. My family and I will not be returning here. Horrible experience.

Pro: the room and the grounds are quite nice. Beach is nice especially for kite surfing. It is windy.

Cons: Hotel primarily caters to local tourists. At least during our summer, the place is full to the rim with large families from the Dominican Republic. They are very happy folks but it gets so crowded and loud that most tourists from the US or Europe are not really able to relax anywhere on the property. When the music finally stops close to midnight, somebody is sure to bring their own music to keep the party going all night.
Again, not a bad property and very friendly staff but we will look for a more quiet and relaxing place next time we come to Cabarete.

I booked two room and for the entire stay they were unable to fix the air conditioner. I reported on the first night that we had no air conditioner and the response was that they were sending maintenance. The next day I personally went to the front desk at 7 am and informed them about the AC. I went to enjoy the amenities of the hotel and returned back to the room at 7:30 pm and informed them that the AC was not working. The manager went personally to see what the problem was and it was resolved for two hours and then the AC broke down. One of my family members was moved to another room. However, due to the time that I reported the incident around 11:30 pm they were not able to accommodate me in another room. I was given a fan and told that no other rooms were available because the hotel was full.

I have stayed at this resort in past and this trip was the worst experience ever. The rooms were not nice and air conditioning was faulty. First night we were switched to 3 different rooms and the last room with good AC had a handle that came off and cut my finger. It was a terrible experience. Ants all over the room couldnt even put my babies play pen ln the floor.

The WiFi was garbage: at a resort, the WiFi should be best money can buy for its guest. The food and restaurant options could have been better. This resort was not prepared for all of its guests. The hotel staff was very helpful, friendly, respectful, but unfortunately, with respect to the food in the buffet restaurant area, it was the worst I have seen in many years. In the 6 days that I was there, every night there were pig's feet, lentils, eggplant, and salads. I often saw flies passing over them. When I saw the faces of the poor Europeans, I felt so identified with them because I knew their feelings of disapproval and frustration at seeing the lack of variety in the food. It was a total disaster. I would never return to that hotel and I would never recommend it.

I was given a 3rd floor room with the elevator not functioning. The cards to get into the room got deactivated twice during my stay. It was a huge inconvenience with a toddler that I had to go twice to the main lobby.

Check in was supposed to be at 3. We got there at 2:30 and did t get a room until 6pm and we’re not given a reason why. There was not a lot of variety in the food. Hotel entertainment was lame. The pool area and common area in the evening was boring. No music after 10pm. I won’t be booking this hotel again.

THE STAFF AT THE FACILITY WAS EXCELLENT , RESPECTFUL, ALWAYS WILLING TO ASSIST IN ANYTHING NEEDED, THEIR CHARACTER WAS EXCELLENT, SHOUT OUT TO \" RAFINA AT THE BAR ALWAYS MAKING MY DRINKS AND CAPPUCCINO COFFEE WITH A SMILE, TEDDY-BEAR AT THE BEACH SITE FOR HIS PLEASANT CONVERSATIONS, 'KENNEDY THE SECURITY GUARD FOR ALWAYS MAKING SURE THAT THE HOTEL WAS SAFE, EMMANUEL AND JUAN FROM THE CHAIN MEMBERSHIP AREA FOR THEIR UNDERSTANDING AND GREAT SERVICE. IN GENERAL THE THE ENTIRE STAFF AT THE BUFFET CAFETERIA.

We came here 5 years ago and it was truly amazing!
But this time we were very disappointed, food was bad, everything tasted like old & stale. Food was very limited, not a lot of options.

The ocean view was impressive and the gardens were so beautiful.
Disappointed: I had communicated with the resort requesting adjoining rooms since we travelled with my mom who suffers from dementia. We arrived and are told they cannot accommodate the request. Interestingly enough, my brother checked in later the same day and had adjoining rooms that he did not request. My 2 rooms ended up being on opposite sides of the building (so much for adjoins rooms!). The room I shared with my mom looked like a cheap motel room; all the water from the shower always ended up on the floor though the shower door was closed. There were zero towels in our room and we noticed when we came from the pool, wet and wanting take showers. I had to dry my mother with her bathing suit cover up after her shower because we were still waiting for towels to be delivered.
The food: Besides of the buffet, there were 3 restaurants that require reservations. What they don’t tell you is that only one restaurant opens per night. We tried the Mexican restaurant and the food was horrendous (all of it). We tried the Mediterranean fusion and the food was very good. One night the buffet was closed unbeknownst to us and the Mexican and Italian restaurants were the only choices and only if reservations were made; they offered to split the family between the 2 restaurants. We had to take a taxi and have dinner in town. Ate at Coconuts and it was TERRIFIC.
Very nonchalant attitude from our all inclusive hotel. BAD!!!

Wyndham hotels are extremely disappointing and incredibly inconsistent. From one hotel to another, the differences are staggering. One room, sheets covered in what seems to be a brown substance from previous people, along with no AC, dirty towels, etc… the food is just okay, but with all the money you’re paying, you expect better, and also is cooked in the laziest manner possible. Tips are expected at an ALL INCLUSIVE hotel, and if you don’t tip SOME workers who help you in the slightest way, they become very disrespectful with their looks, ultimately becoming complete recluses. Most workers are extremely nice, and don’t deserve to be working at such a place, don’t stay with Wyndham unless you want a very disappointing stressful time, the beaches and pools are NOT worth it.

This place was so unorganized. I came to this resort with a big group for a wedding, and the hotel was not prepared for us.

The food was mid or bad AND we received stale chips at the Mexican restaurant even after we asked if we could get a new batch. For breakfast, the only thing good was the omelette, because it was made fresh. Some of my friends would get drinks at the bar, and their cups would have lipstick marks. Thankfully, I had my own thermos to drink out but that should not have happened.

One of the days, they were doing construction on the stairs in front of my room, which started at 11 am until I left for the wedding at 3:30 PM. It was loud and there was so much dust and debris. My boyfriend was unable to take a nap and we had to be careful when opening the door.

I even left the room at some point to get water and saw the wire of the jackhammer. I stepped over it, but before I got my other foot over, the worker pulled on the wire, tripping and almost making me fall.

My boyfriend told me that the gym equipment wasn't the best either. The treadmill was running slowly and wasn't tracking the mile correctly.

When I went to customer service to let them know about the construction and everything, the lady looked at me like she didn't know this construction was happening and apologized. Later that night I got a small plate of brownie with a note thanking us for the visit to the resort and to leave a positive review.....

I would not recommend this place!
