Covers and pillows were stained, wifi and tv did not work, pool inside room was not heated it was freezing (the main reason we booked room), windows did not lock so room was unsecure, bathroom had a sewer smell and to top it off it was a brothel/strip club. When we were informed that there was a club that opened at 1030pm we never assumed a strip club until we walked by and seen naked women dancing. It made a lot of sense after the fact when all we noticed were men staying at the hotel.

This hotel has so much potential but its a dump. The rooms are huge but the bedding, towels and furniture is sub par. The rooms are not very clean and kind of grimy. Its ok for the price but its not nice

I had a quick stay because my flight was cancelled due to the hurricane. Im actually writing this review in thevtaxi on my way to catch a new flight out of SDQ. They hooked me up with a great rate on a one way airport transfer.

I found this spot on Expedia and I think I just found my new favorite duck off! The place was clean, had a couple restaurants, and had pretty good music playing by the pool. But thats not what sealed the deal for me. I came in around 5pm and decided to check out the pool bar because there was a crowd gathered around the TV wall. I met a couple good dudes from Cali who had been there for a week and put me on to the nightlife game. I usually stay in Puerta Plata so i had no idea this city had such a lively nightlife. Then, it hit me, I saw this pretty young lady walk up to the bar and get a drink, then sit down and eat at the table behind us withbher friends. I asked my new found OG if he knew her and to my surprise, he said yes! This chick was a profesional dancer in the Gentlemans club onsite! This just took the cake for me.

Fast forward to around 11:30pm after a power nap, they have a Gentlemans Club called KOD that serves food and shows the games all night until 3am. The girls are all so cool in there. I had a great time. Not alot of people in there, just about 15 to 20 of us, but all the girls knew how to keep us entertained.

Water service was out for 2 days. The front desk said the water pump was broken. Repairs were made but it was a patch work job because water work for a few minutes and be out for entire day and night. I’m personally never staying there again. If the water doesn’t work, the shower and toilet doesn’t. So no bathing or flushing your urine or poop.

They gave me a room I didn't pay for, I paid for a suite and I git a basic room. Nothing in the room worked or worked properly. Room was dirty couldn't get new sheets or towels. Shower worked when it wanted to. Only thing good about this place is the air conditioning worked and they had women walking around. Everything else was no good. Horrible!!!!!!

Not a 4 star. Not a luxury hotel.

We stayed in a king room. There was a separate room with a couch and a bar. The couch was dirty and stained. The king bed was comfortable. The bathroom was the size of an entire hotel room. It had one big showerhead on the roof. Good pressure and hotwater. Very strange room. Water didnt drain properly so after a shower, for the rest of the evening, you walked though old shower water touse the bathroom etc…the air conditioner didnt work. It just blew warm air. We called the manager in to show him the next morning.he said he would have a tech look at it.we checked out so dont know if it was.
Heres my impression: the hotel is run down. It needs cleaning and painting.It is not a 4 star. There is a poolside bar that offers a pool party every evening. There were only a couple guests at the hotel while we were there but were quite a few ladies on premises.(?) this also means that pool music is blasting up against your hotel room at night. Signage within the resort include foul language warning against use of video cameras. Im thinking that the reason that it is an adult only hotel is because it has deteriorated into a base hotel. Wouldnt recommend to a couple looking for a luxury stay.

My review hinges on whether or not you are coming for the girls, if you are not, you definitely should find another place to stay. If you are, then my review is a 3 star. The food is great, the nightclub area is great. The staff is mostly friendly and will work with you. However, I was disappointed in the room, it is a little shabby and the rooms need a facelift in my opinion. Also, I got the penthouse suite with the jacuzzi but there is no where near enough hot water to even begin to fill it up so it is basically like being in a normal unheated swimming pool that has water jets. They also have some quirky rules that you will run into it and that wouldn't be a problem normally but they tend to give you an attitude about it as if you should have known. The location isn't very good, there's not much with in a short walk, i had to use a taxi if i needed to go to the super market or the ATM. The cleaning service did come daily and did a very good job cleaning and the lady was very nice. So overall, the place was \"ok\" but if I were ever to come here again, i would not pick this place.

A great resort. Local girls are usually sharing rooms at the hotel because the place is themed mostly for bachelors who come to meet people and enjoy the local beaches.
The resort’s security (Pro wrestler caliber) will charge visitors entry fees for access to the bar and pool area, and they weed out the undesirable elements that may otherwise wander in from the beach. This is what you are paying for, in case you were wondering, and this bespoke singles atmosphere, where your hotel is essentially a live-in nightclub where your potential dates are pre-vetted is generally worth the cost, and frankly, quite genius.
The cost of dinner and drinks is still excellent compared to the U.S. and Europe, and is of excellent quality. It’s bistro themed, yet has the feel of being home cooking, made with love. For most visitors, the prospect of meeting a young woman who ends up being their girlfriend for the week, and maybe even shows them around town is an attractive arrangement, and generally mutually beneficial.
The hotel has a friendly staff, and generally, has the feel of a slightly dated Caribbean four-star hotel, which is to say, everything is neat and where it should be, yet seems as if it would have been magnificent - five or six years ago. Think of hooking up with the second-prettiest cheerleader in school in your 2010 Mercedes, on a bluff overlooking the nicest beach in town. Except, she’s different everyday. This is the Ahnvee experience.

What i liked about the property was the lay out and the idea of the rooms however the care for them was terrible. I was there for 6 days and for the entire time i swotched rooms twice and my pool never worked not once and it was filty. And it clearly was not cleaned in days prior to me arriving. Not to mention the smell of mildew on the sheets. Just terrible i will never stay there again.

This hotel is for SINGLE MEN not families or couples. OnWas a nice hotel especially for the price but there were things that lacked attention. I had the pools suite which came with freezing pool water that was not clean. Towel and toilet paper fixtures were falling off the wall and some of the ceiling light bulb didn’t work. There were no hand/face towels, blow dryer, tissues or hand soap and the room phone didn’t work. Aside from that the was was pretty nice.

It is a nice property, but the rooms need repairs. At least the 2 I was in. The first room had a Jacuzzi that did not work and did not heat up. The shower also did not work, but the front desk person took care of it and moved me to another room that was better. The staff is very good and attentive, the highlight of my stay there. Another thing to note that is is very dark in the rooms, lighting is very weak and no balconies. Another important thing to know, this place has a disco on the premises and if you go to sleep early this is not the place to stay for you. The music is blaring until early AM every night, and even later on TH to SU.

Let star by saying that the environment was not for family.the rooms cleanness was poor. The staff in the reception was ok but in other areas I felt like me and my family was not welcome.the prostitution was so obvious that I felt unsafe. In few occasions I receive indecent request from other guess thinking I was there to do ”Business” like he said.A woman from out side almost attack my mom because she was too close in the club.guesses did not have a exclusive treatment from people from out side.I Don't think I will come back

The Place is a Dump!!!!

The place a Dump as you can seein the photos. No maintenance, No Hot water. Often NO water at all. The bathroom were nasty and dirty. I was afraid to take my shoes off. To be listed as a Resort it was very disappointing. Be warned I highly recommend you spend your money elsewhere!!!!he rooms

My stay was a disaster, the whole 4 days I was there the facility had power issues, supposedly they were fixing the transformer that supplies all the power to the resort, this issue caused power outages for most of the day,also the power connection supplies the water filtration system,so when the power outage was going on the water wasn’t available either. So basically the whole 4 days I was staying at the resort I had no power and no water. I wouldn’t recommend anyone stay there,and I’m never staying at Ahnvee resorts ever again

I liked the actual size of the property and the landscaping. I did not like the fact that the electrical power was intentionally shut down on schedule 3 times a day in order to save the hotel money on electric bill, at the extreme discomfort of hotel guest. The shut down schedule included between the hours of 430 am - 730 am while I was trying to get some rest. But I could not sleep because the room was to hot. My girlfriend was taking a shower and with soap all over her body, the water shut off because it did not function when the power was cut off. Needless to say my girlfriend was furious. The pool was dirty and there was a lot of noise from people outside my window at 4 am, as well as the extremely loud music coming from a nearby disco club. The front doors at the reception area opened and closed at random intervals and if not careful, someone could easily get caught between the closing doors, or if standing near the doors and turning away, could walk into the closed doors which were opened when they turned away. It was one of the worst, if not the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel and I've lived, worked in 10 countries around the world. The in room jacuzzi was dirty and did not come close to matching the photo provided on the hotel website. All in all the hotel was very bad and it was a very bad experience. I would never stay there again, and I highly recommend that Expedia removes this hotel immediately and never list it again. Thank you

Avoid this hotel, Don't be fooled by the pictures, This place is moldy, lice in the beds with hair and weird stains all over the bed, , we checked in and after changing our rooms, because the pool was filled with debris and dead bugs, we were moved to another room where the pool was clean at least, however there was mold and bad hygiene with sloppy cables hanging all over the place. We immediately checked out 20 minutes later. The front desk refused to refund, and we had to pay for not being able to deal with staying at a bug, lice, infested room.

Property-Neighborhood sucks. The property is well protected and super clean.
Food-Very Healthy and cooked with care. Not the cheap ingredient food.

Security is the best
Rooms- Unique styled rooms very cool.
If they not careful its going to turn into a family resort. Quite a bit of families.
Date friendly and very discreet.
CONS:
Shower head was corrosive. Standing water in my shower. However the shower is huge so I didnt say nothing til i left. Big bathrooms lord they nice.
Breakfast- sometimes full breakfast not available at start time. Sometimes 10 to 20 minutes late. I will say everything is super fresh.

If I come back to Sosua. I am there too much. I will stay at this facility period. It is a 4.7 out of 5
Trust me as you can see I am thorough.

The hotel was mediocre at best. The webpage advertises a jacuzzi room which is a misrepresentation. The jacuzzi wasn't designed to be a jacuzzi but rather an ice bath? Yeah, I don't know either. When I complained about the jacuzzi not being a jacuzzi, I was immediately upgraded to a multi level penthouse at no additional charge. The beds are pretty clean and comfortable. The air conditioner is adequate but towards the end of my stay my air conditioner became a waterfall. After I complained to the manager, I was immediately given a second room right next door and was allowed to keep both roons at no additional charge. To sum it up, a decent hotel with management that goes above and beyond to ensure that their guests are satisfied.

My stay at the Ahvnee Hotel

First let me thank Milka for your help, definitely one of the shining star of the Ahvnee hotel. I was greet by Yissel. Who had a warm friendly Dominican smile at the front desk. She and all of the staff of the Ahvnee hotel were very friendly and helpful. The Ahvnee hotel is beautiful, quiet and very comfortable place to stay. I don't speak much Spanish, so it was extremely help that the staff was bilingual. Thanks Ahvnee it help make my stay a breeze. My room was cleaned daily by Lisa, she is a nice woman. The hotel had a BBQ and pool party the weekend I was there, it was a blast. The security is A-1. I never felt safer. If I needed any assistance they were right there. GREAT JOB GUYS. I have stayed in a variety of hotel in the DR and Ahvnee ranks right up there at the top. Thanks again for an awesome experience and excellent service. I will be staying at the Ahvnee hotel my next stay. I really appreciate you Milka and the entire staff, who help me enjoy a wonderful stay at Ahvnee.

Employees work hard and go above and beyond without being paid. Took 3 complaints to get tv fixed before receptionist fixed it himself. Ac out of order first day. NO Wi-Fi.

Ahnvee is really going down hill quickly this is my 3rd time staying here every year more and more is gone. Two of the restaurants that was on the resort are closed. The place is like a ghost town it seem like maybe us and at the most 5 other families or groups was in the whole hotel and by monday i think it was just us. You can't get in the pool after 10:30. Mosquitoes everywhere. My friend had the Jacuzzi room the water in the jacuzzi would cloudy and dirty. They have an chef who meals was horrible. When i first came here you could eat all night drink all night Nope not no more breakfast lunch an dinner and pay for drink (beer still included free). That will be my last stay here

There's not much to like about this property in comparison to other resorts. The rooms are poorly constructed. The windows don't close properly, the sink leaks, and the bed has an odor. This property has the potential to be one of the best resorts. The property appears as thought it's operating on a narrow budget or possibly nearing the state of going bankrupt. An investor's dream! The staff who work here are super accommodating though.

The food very bad and overheated, the staff was not comfortable with their work, I had to leave before the Hotel because my family and I got intoxicated with the bad food that it offers us, the pool floor was damaged and the children left with their feet cut off. the pool is all dirty and there were animals inside it,very poor hygiene throughout the hotel and especially in the preparation of food,in the buffet the only meat there was chicken wings.

I was lost. Nobody informed us about anything going on, or things to do there. We didn’t even know what the schedule was for the buffet or the logistics of it. Then, we paid for an “All Inclusive” package and when we finally found the restaurant, it had prices. Same thing happened at the pool bar. We asked for the menu and it all had a cost (terrible drinks, by the way) Then when we were going to pay, the bartender said that he thought it was included, that he was going to check. We waited there and he never got back to us. When inside of the restaurant, nobody told us how it was, we had to wait for something similar to the check to sign it and include room number. We found out when we were walking out the door and one waiter stopped us. The so called jacuzzi was mad cold and it looked dirty. Employees are somewhat nice, but you dont know who is who. They dont wear tags and many many of them were wearing casual clothes.

Worst experience ever. When I arrived I booked the penthouse they put me in a standard room. I was not placed in my proper room until my second night because penthouse was double booked. Once I was checked into the penthouse I was told the room had been serviced by house keeping it was not. Floor drain in shower was clogged so shower area flooded. I only stayed at this hotel 2 nights of the 5 nights booked due to the fact I am used to a higher standard. The rest is my stay I was at Hispaniola Beach privat condos a much nicer and cleaner place to stay.
