I liked the fact that we were right on the beach. The room was clean but it had an old smell to it. Housekeeping was excellent! The food was good. Overall I enjoyed staying at the hotel. The staff always assisted as needed and was pleasant. I do not drink alcohol so, I did not partake in the Bar.

Very disappointing stay. The sink was leaking, the room had a bad odor and humidity, the air conditioning was damaged, and the minibar was empty upon arrival. The staff was also unprofessional. Overall, not the experience I expected and would not recommend.

This is just an average hotel, most of the guests are local with no manners. Additionally, the staff are not trained properly and the customer services is not good. The food in the buffet was ok, the Mexican and Italian restaurants were really good. I will never stay here again, just my preference.

Viaje de pareja, nos hospedamos del 22 al 25 mayo x 3 noches, cuando llegamos hicimos check in súper rápido, nos guiaron a la habitación y cuando entramos no estaba el control del aire nos dijeron que lo reportarían y pasó hasta las 11:30 de la noche que volvimos a la habitación y llame que comenzaron a resolver, al final no servía el aire y pedí cambio a la 1:30 am. (Me pareció que esto lo hacen a propósito ya que nos encontramos con una pareja que le pasó lo mismo). En general me parece buen resort relación / precio, tienen varias piscinas, tres restaurantes que siempre están llenos (dominicano orégano, italiano amici y Lolita Mexicano) los domingo solo abre Lolita el resto permanece cerrado los domingos. El buffet me pareció bueno sin cosas extravagantes pero tienen menú básico variado. Las habitaciones y el hotel son amplios y limpias, hay un bar de snack en la playa desde las 10.30 pm, la playa es muy bonita, tienen dos bares, hay discoteca, cafetería, un bar de cervezas pero se paga por consumo, hay gym y spa pero este último se pagan los servicios.
En general recomendaría no hospedarse en una habitación superior familiar, recomiendan las solo adultos si van en pareja.
Me gustó mucho la atención del personal, es un resort para no más de tres noches ya que el resort no tiene mucho entretenimiento pero si es bueno para descansar y disfrutar de las piscina, playa y comida.

Llevense de mi reseña , busque muchisimos tiktoks y lei todos los review que decian que este resort era buenisimo , pero la realidad es una completamente distinta!!!! , iniciando con que el asensor del edificio que nos toco solo funciono el primer dia cuando subimos nuestras maletas , el resto de la estancia estuvo dañado , la comida del buffet principal ERGO’s era malisima , solo se saco pude comer de ahi , un lomo de cerdo , unos pansitos con queso y un cerdo asado , luego? Todo super horrible , seguido de los restaurant de reserva para cenar , la primera noche fuimos a oregano ( el restaurante dominicano) SEÑORES QUE RESTAURANT MAS MALO! , desde el personal hasta la comida , pedimos chivo (que estaba bueno , pero a uno de nosotros solo le dieron hueso del chivo y cuando le dijeron al superior de eso , su respuesta fue “El chivo tiene huevo” ) sumemos una pechuga que pedimos rellena de platano maduro ( que de maduro no tenia nada el platano que tenia adentro y la pechuga estaba cruda).Lo unico bueno de la estadia fue el restaurante amicci , la comida super buena y el personal super amable , especialmente justino.
Quiero destacar que tienen muchisimas areas de pago , como el cafe( alli solo son gratis algunos postres que son malisimos, ya si quieres cafe son $4US y asi va , las paletas son a $5 y $6 us). En la playa tienen una heladeria del hotel donde tambien te venden el helado a $4 la bola.
Lo considere un hotel CON TODO SEMI INCLUIDO. En la hab de mi cuñado habian cucara

The beach was very nice and clean. The only downfall is thete is not a lot of shade,so if want shade you should get to the beach early. The snack bar was always fully stocked limited meat choices?,hamburger hot dogs but good salad bar and always some kind of dessert.

Service was amazing and food was delicious with different menu changes everyday! Pools were amazing. Especially the swim out pool which i loved the most. My favorite place at these resort was the clear blue water of the beach. The sand was white and there is no garbage at all in the sand and inside the beach. Tour staff are not consistently asking you to schedule a tour excursion, like other resorts it gets annoying when they constantly ask you to join their excursion. Overall i think is the besg resort in the north coast at Puerto Plata. Besides the hotel you have so much to explore outside the hotel, rivers, beach, history, culture, country side and so much more !!!

Hotel was full of locals with no manners,lines to have lunch that we ate outside hotel. When did get to dine the buffet was full of people and cutting in line. I also got very sick when I ate lunch there…had to stay in hotel room all day because to be close to a bathroom. Assigned 3rd floor but elevator was broken. I will not go back but staff was super nice!

To start, the resort was an amazing experience. This hotel is a great place to relax.

The cons: The front desk service needs improvement. The customer service is lacking, there are very few people at the front desk at all times. Some of the staff were not nice and it felt like they would ignore you sometimes. Others were better with their service, but still there is little coverage at front desk at any hour.

For the rooms: We had some issues with water leaking from the ceiling. The TVs weren’t really functioning (but we rarely were using them anyway). The cleanliness was okay not the best. The bed was comfortable and the room was pretty. Never lacked towels or soap.

Another con: Way too many salespeople trying to sell timeshares. It was more than I’ve ever seen at a hotel.

Pros: Employees were always friendly and quick to help with anything. The food is delicious , especially the buffet. Absolutely exceptional. Drinks were well served. I would say this is one of the most comfortable and relaxing resort experiences I’ve had. You can really sit down and relax for the most part. Other than the front desk service, I’d say this is a great choice for anyone wanting to have a laid back vacation/stay.

I went back and forth on how to rate this resort. There are definitely positives, but a few key issues shaped my experience.

The property is well maintained and small enough that it’s easy to navigate. The beach is beautiful, and I really appreciated that vendors were respectful—if you said no, they moved on without pressure. The room was also great: clean, comfortable, and nicely set up.

The biggest downside was the food. The buffet was mediocre at best—edible, but not enjoyable. I can’t speak to the specialty restaurants because there was never any availability during my stay. That may be partly on me for not reserving earlier, but it was still disappointing given the weak buffet options.

Staff members were very nice though. Always smiling.

Another issue was departure. Ubers aren’t allowed on the property. We had to walk about 20 minutes outside the resort to meet our ride, along a busy and somewhat unsafe road. No one at the resort would assist us with a cart, which made it even more frustrating. They were basically like: Good luck!

Because of the food and the departure experience, I likely won't return. But I am persuadable with a good price!

Our stay had multiple issues. The hot water was not working even after letting it run for a long time, and the maintenance response felt dismissive.

We also had repeated problems with the A/C showing an “E1” error and shutting off, including in the middle of the night. Although it was reset, the issue continued. One staff member who came to assist was also rude and did not communicate with us.

Additionally, one bathroom sink was nearly broken and the other was clogged.

That said, the food was good and other staff around the hotel, especially in the restaurants, were friendly and helpful. However, the room issues and service we experienced made the stay disappointing overall.

I had a really good experience staying at Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata. The hotel has a beautiful location right by the beach, and the overall atmosphere is lively and fun. The staff were friendly and always willing to help, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, even though some areas of the resort feel a bit outdated. The pools and common areas were well maintained, and there were plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. The food had a good variety, especially at the buffet and restaurants, although some dishes could be better.

One of the best parts was how clean everything was and how convenient the location is near Playa Dorada.

Overall, it’s a great option for a fun and affordable all-inclusive vacation. Not perfect, but definitely worth it for the price and experience!

The check-in process needs to be better. We stood in line for over 40 min and the lobby was a madhouse. The folks behind the counter were definitely moving on island time and did not seem very enthusiastic. I think the 1st people you see make a huge impression and this needs work. The staff beyond that were great. We stayed in a room with a private pool which we appreciated because the pools were also madhouse, at one point having a foam party.
The beach was lacking, dirty and not a bit inviting. It was very packed. The food at the buffet was mediocre. The Italian restaurant alright. The Mexican restaurant was the only one we said we would go back to, it was delicious.
The casino looks like it's from the 80s and the disco is pretty small with nothing to it.
All in all, I think this is a resort that locals may come to more. If you're traveling from outside the DR, pick a different location as this would not make a good 1st impression. I love coming to the DR and this was not a great representation of it.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.

From the moment we arrived, it was complete chaos — a line of at least 60 people just to check in. After wasting a significant amount of time waiting, we were told to go sit at the buffet and wait even longer for a room that should have already been ready, since we were past the official check-in time. Completely unacceptable.

The buffet was no better. The food quality was terrible and honestly felt like an afterthought. It didn’t come close to making up for the inconvenience.

The property itself is nothing like what’s advertised. It’s basically a giant, bland concrete structure with zero charm. The layout makes no sense — multiple pools crammed into a tight area, making everything feel overcrowded and poorly planned.

What really made things worse was the atmosphere. This is advertised as a family-friendly hotel, but it felt more like a loud party resort. I was traveling with my daughter and felt completely uncomfortable with the environment.

It got so bad that we made the decision to leave within the first hour of arriving. That’s how unacceptable the situation was. And to make matters even worse, the hotel refused to give us any refund whatsoever.

Save your money and go somewhere else. Do not trust the pictures — they are completely misleading and do not reflect the reality of this place.

Needs better management to pay attention to details. For example, we book two rooms. One room was for 5 people and only one umbrella was found. If you know 5 people are coming common sense is to put more than 1 umbrella. The other room had no umbrella and took over 2 days to get just one. Shower head holder in bathrooms were loose and water was splashing everywhere. Only buffet was available, all restaurants were book for our entire 5 day stay unless we wanted to have dinner after 9pm. Poor planning by hotel management.

The resort is on the smaller side designed similarly to a shopping center, with everything (restaurants, bars and nightlife) centered around the two pools. The bar staff is very friendly even if you don't tip them which isn't always the case in the DR (which was very nice to see). The Wi-Fi is weak when not in the front desk/lobby area, so plan accordingly if you need to work or need steady service.

The front desk/check-in process was easy, dinner reservations have to be made either on the app or the reservation office around the corner from the front desk. The buffet is limited and very repeated, so we recommend making dinner reservations as much as you can. They were good! When sitting to eat at the buffet, its first come, first, serve and a bit of a free for all as opposed to someone sitting you like at other resorts, so better to plan when it's not the busiest of times.

Guests get up early and put beach towels on chairs around the beach and pool whether they're there or not, so be ready to do the same (super annoying). The towels process is pretty pointless. The maid replaces a towel on a 1:1 basis, but if the towel is on a chair then she won't replace it so you essentially use the same beach towel the entire time you're there.

Shower towels were replaced more often and the room was cleaned on a daily basis. Our maid was VERY nice and we made sure we tipped at the end!

There was a leak in the bathroom that my wife almost wiped out twice from. The maintenance man came and looked at it a said would fix the next day, take about 3 hrs.
Did not happen. So we had to use towels everyday to soak up the water.
Other than that, it was a fairly good trip.

My experience wasn’t the best. The staff, from the lobby to the buffet and especially the coffee shop, often seemed like they didn’t want to be bothered. The elevator wasn’t working, there was no hot water, and the food was disappointing.

On the positive side, the beach was beautiful and clean, which was definitely a highlight.

To be fair, this was just my experience—others may feel differently. The only people who seemed genuinely happy were the entertainment crew… and the timeshare reps trying to sign you up.

The staff at Emotions were pleasant and helpful However, the hotel itself was older, dated and badly maintained. The resort is nice and well laid out. The room was absolutely beautiful and the beach was great. The reservation-only restaurants were decent, but the buffet was inedible. There is a bar on the resort called \"Opus\", which is only available for \"Elite\" members, so don't go in there. The service at the hotel was a little sub-par. The bar ran out of things constantly (including tequila) and we were only able to rent enough towels on 1 of the 4 days we were there. The resort also has a weird way of communicating requests, through their app, which doesn't make clear which services are available to you before you request it (i.e., you can order breakfast room service on the app, then 24 hours later they will tell you that the service isn't available). The resort also wasn't the best for a young couple looking to party (both in our late 20s) - definitely more of a vibe for seniors and families.

We also recommend taking some time to visit Puerto Plata off-resort. The Uber there was cheap and it's a 15-min drive.

Overall, although we did have a decent time, we probably wouldn't come back here.

We had a very nice experience!!! It was our first time doing an all inclusive so we did not know what to expect! The food was meh….not much flavor and just underwhelming….didn’t really care for the cafeteria vibe. The best meals were breakfast and the make your own omelette station was on point.

The beach access with beach loungers were amazing! The readily available drinks…although they were not at all top shelf were good.

The best part of the trip was Chemi in the wine bar, Oak! He hooked us up with a lot of wine and got us into some of the restaurants where we had excellent meals that weren’t cafeteria style dining! He really made the experience memorable!

There were activities for all ages: aerobics by the beach, bingo, mini disco for kids, night shows, etc.

We’ve stayed at several all‑inclusive resorts, so we generally know what to expect. This property had a few highlights, but also several things that didn’t work well for us.

Pros
• Swim‑Out Room: The room was ready on arrival, and the pool was clean and well‑maintained. The foliage had recently been trimmed very low, so it felt less private than expected.
• Friendly enough staff

Things to Know
• Room Layout: There is no table or chairs inside the room. We enjoy playing cards, and without a proper surface, our options were limited to the bed, floor, or an outdoor lounge chair. The only table-and-chair setup was by the main jacuzzi & noise.
• Noise Level: The resort is highly energetic, with music and activities running all day until about 11pm. If you enjoy a lively atmosphere, you may love this, but those sensitive to noise may find it overwhelming (even in a building close to the beach).
• Food: The food was hit‑or‑miss for us. *Mostly miss*. You also cannot take food back to your room without a major issue. You have to order from a reduced option room service menu.
• Storage: The room has limited storage—just a few hangers and two small drawers—so longer stays may require suitcase living.
• Vacation Club Invitations: Staff approached us several times to attend a presentation.

Overall, this did not align with what we were personally looking for in a resort. It would be a good fit for those who prefer to be entertained/high energy environments.

This place is an absolute gem for a romantic Valentine’s Day celebration! One of the employees, Amaury, organized a breathtaking beachside dinner that made my night unforgettable. The ambiance was enchanting, with live music and delectable cuisine. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience.

They also have a charming bar called Milwaukee, where we met a lovely girl named Deilennys (I think that was her name). Her warm and welcoming nature made everyone feel at ease. We often found ourselves spending our evenings at the bar with her during our stays at the hotel.

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway. My stay at the hotel was also fantastic, and I’m already planning my next visit.

lighting of the property at night was poor and presented safety concerns.

entertainment and activities were sparse and uninspiring.

table service at meals, buffet and restaurants, was very lax; cleaning & preping of tables after each seating not quick nor entirely sanitary.

The rooms need some work. I reserved 2 rooms and both had issues. The handles of some of the drawers were loose with the screw sticking out and I had a toddler with me and was afraid of her getting a scratch. My other room had a leak on the bathroom roof. It’s sad to see the resorts in puerto plata come so short when compared to Punta Cana resorts. Additionally, my main discontent with this hotel was the fact that you staff split my party into 2 different buildings and I found myself running back and forth because in one room I had 2 elderly, one using a cane to walk and in the other room (in a 3rd floor with NO elevator) I was forced to stay with 2 small children and had to be carrying my 1 year and 5 years old children plus stroller up and down. It didn’t feel like a vacation but a huge inconvenience. Lastly, my children did not like the fact that your pool closes so early at 6 pm. Why not extend it to 7 pm?

The staff was friendly and welcoming, especially those in restaurants and bar areas. The room was OK. The air conditioner and air vent in the bathroom did not work properly and the towels were dingy. The property landscaping is very nicely done and kept up. The entertainment was good. The poor areas were fun with many activities and music. My husband and I expected more from the food. It was mediocre. There could have been more authentic Dominican foods and flavors. The breakfast was good and had many choices with eggs made to order. The beach bar was very good. Not sure if we would make a return trip here.

When arriving staff was polite and helpful getting us checked in and to our room. My room had numerous issues, safe not working which was taken care of on arrival day. Sliding door off track and not opening took 2 days to get fixed. Bathroom toilet not functioning properly and leaked on floor. That took 5 days to get fixed after complaining everyday to the cleaning staff and front desk. Frustrated, after I was told not to put toilet paper in the toilet, asked to speak to a supervisor who came to the room, pulled the toilet out and reset it to the floor.
Pool area and beach was nice. I was surprised only one bar for whole beach area. Could use one on each end.
The buffet staff was just OK. Not attentive to customer service very single focused. Most mornings for breakfast had to get up and find our own water glasses and water.

We were disappointed even before arriving when finding out that they do not offer an airport shuttle despite both Expedia and the resort's Instagram saying they do. The resort was a good size and we enjoyed having our own pool and bar as part of the Adults Only expereince, but there were a few things that made our stay not as enjoyable as we hoped. The wifi would keep disconnecting and when it was conected it was weak. The buffet food was not good and lots of people said they got sick. For our room specifically (12211) the door battery kept dying so we would have to hike back to the front desk to tell them and then hike back to our room to wait in the hall for someone to come fix it. This happened three times during our 5 day stay. There is a jucczi on the deck but not only did it take forever to fill up, there was only cold water. Being at the end of the hall meant that when it would rain, water would come in under our door. The shower wouldn't drain well and the water ended up overflowing into the rest of the bathroom. The tolet seat was broken. The maids would take our towels but not replace certain things like the bathmat or the pool towels, so it was a run around to try and get those back. Outside of all the issues with our room, the beach was a great place to spend some time.

This hotel is in need of renovations. The drawers in the room are broken. The laminate on the vanity is bubbling and coming off.
The staff were not attentive and we had to carry our bags to the rrom ourselves. This isnt entirely true. There was an attendant willing to helpnus to our room until he wanted to sell us a time share. When we said no he left our bags pointed us to our room and left us in the middle of the path.
Food was not good.

They gave us the wrong room type when we arrived. We payed for a suite. They changed us day two to proper room. Food was average but not great same thing day in day out. Overall had a good time. The beach was good. Would we go back ?????
