We’ve been coming back to the Gran Ventana for many years. The price is always right, the staff is excellent.. the only one that could have been nicer was the girl taking the ala carte restaurant reservations. The pool is very clean, the rooms are in good shape.. could be updated but are kept very clean. One complaint I have is that the smoking policy is not enforced. There is supposed to be a designated section but nobody pays attention. If you are not a smoker, and I think it’s not very common to BE a smoker these days, it’s a big turn off to have to smell and breathe in cigarette smoke.

The buffet always has something you should like to eat. It’s not fine dining but that’s not why you go to this resort. The ala carte restaurants are better.

The staff as always was amazing, our room was late getting ready, after my 4th trip there there was no welcome back banner, no royal package welcome package in the room.
The second day the bathrobes were taken and not returned.
The menu was bland and stagnant same for the last 7 years.

As returning guests, it was nice to see familiar staff. Once there you will realise why 30% are returning guests.
Rooms were very clean, staff friendly and helpful.
We did notice not too many receptacle to use chargers unless you use the bathroom.
We didn’t have a pull up stem to plug the sink drain, you would think that housekeeping would notice that if clean around the faucet.

The room was cleaned everyday, water was provided daily, overall it was great I would highly recommend to seniors with mobility issues, while there was some walking I could handle it. Remember to inform that you need a ground floor room. The food was great. Wish there were more excursions that were for mobility challenged seniors

Decent quality for the low price you pay. Have to look past some of the small things, manage your expectations you simply are not getting true 5 star quality for 2 star price.

Food is OK. You are not coming here for high end meals, it’s simply a great selection of mediocre quality. The tenderloin filet steak at the octopus is not a real filet, might be a sirloin at best. You will want to get out on some excursion and pay for some meals out if you are wanting an excellent tasting meal. The buffet is decent and in my opinion better than the other restaurants. Long waits at the restaurants, and very small plates.

The alcohol beverages at the bar is a joke. The amount of alcohol they pour is thimbles per cup, asking for double alcohol still doesn’t make it what it really should be. Cleanliness at the bar is sketchy, seen the recycled cups get dipped in soapy water, that stands all day and then rinses in another bucket of flesh water that at some point is not clean but is reused. Wife and I both got sick with a cold and am sure this is how we contracted the virus.

Beaches are great. Not snorkeling quality, the current and surf kicks up way to much sand and most days u can’t see the ground. There is really no coral or fish and if u get close enough to the rocks you might get swept into them depending on the tides, the current will push you into them.

Overall it was a great stay. As stated, manage your expectations or you will disappoint yourself.

The housekeeping staff was excellent, room was clean.
When we asked for items for our room it was brought.
The rooms were outdated but comfortable.
It would be good to have more gluten free and vegan options. ie:tofu
The coffee machine at the bar wasn't fixed die 4 days, they had the best coffee. We have always loved the Dominican coffee this time it was bitter and disappointing.
The wait staff were attentive, they are worked very hard to get to everyone at breakfast especially an extra 1 one or 2 on hand would be helpful.
We stayed as a premium guest, the best part of that was the lounge.
The spot at the beach was lovely, the cushions,bolster and towels were dated, torn stained. The experience was nice but being bothered buy the services being sold but individuals was not relaxing.
We would have liked to see a jacuzzi or 2.
Our overall stay was nice, facility was kept clean!

The room was ok after we made them fix the broken shower head and the toilet that was leaking all over the floor. The tv didn’t work and they didn’t fix it.
My sister and I got food poisoning from the breakfast one morning. Was violently sick for a few days.
They only let you go to the nice restaurants one time during your stay. The rest of the time you have to go to the buffet where I got poisoned.
They do clean the rooms every day which is a plus.
We won’t be going back.

Overly protective security made for an \" am I allowed out\" feeling. Can't have an uber on the property. Only Taxis allowed and they harass you when you want to go out.many other instanceswhere I was a bit disappointed. The staff inside the restaurant areas and cleaning crews were amazingly courteous as well as the front desk staff.

Water in the shower room 3309 , you cannot adjust to the warm water. It was or too cold or hot water.

Overall nice beach

The resort is way smaller than I thought. Its listed as all inclusive however the beer in the room you only get 2 beers every other day. That means if I want to stay in the room one day and relax and have a few beers, I can't. They limit you, that's not all inclusive. In 9 nights I was there I was only able to go to the a la carte restaurants 3 times because for 9 night you only get 3 a la carte reservations, that's not all inclusive. These are things that should be listed and clients should know before booking. When I questioned the hotel staff they said those are internal rules they have. I felt scammed

Beautiful resort on a very beautiful part of the beach where the waves were not dangerous. Not a huge resort which is great. We hate those with golf carts. Very professional wait staff. Cleaning staff can be more friendly. Room had no tissue or privacy sign for the door. Room was extremely humid and the bed and sheets felt wet. Toilet had a water leak in the back. Room needs renovation. Old. Broken drawer and fridge door. Closet old and very cheap hangers and only a few of them. Freezer full of frost and ice build up. Great location though. Music boring. Where is the the Dominican music? We had to ask for it. In Italy you would hear Italian music. In DR, these people should here DR music. Vendors on the beach annoying and insistent, especially if they know we speak Spanish. Hotel should not allow that. The buffets were excellent. Great variety and seasonings!

Overall experience was great! It was my first solo trip. The place is nice and clean. The Wi-Fi in my room didn’t work most of the time. I told them about it, and they said they would send someone over, but no one ever came to help. The food was okay. If you’re looking for a quiet resort, this is it. The beach is right there, which is great, but the only thing I didn’t like was the number of vendors. It got kind of annoying—while I was trying to nap, they kept coming over offering massages and other things. I understand they’re trying to make a living, but it became a bit bothersome. I feel like they need to have more fun activities within the Resort, because I got bored after the 2nd day LOL. My house keepers were sweet and friendly, ❤️ all staff were nice 😊

Service- Staff was very welcoming and kind, except housekeeper Yoselin who gave us attitude and suggested we waited 4 hours for room towel replacement. A kind housekeeper in the lower level provided us with towels.

Room- Wi-Fi issues, TV channels were not visible, toilet was clogged, patio door did not lock (unsafe for toddlers).

Stayed there with my family and the kids, check in experience was terrible, we were not greeted at all, just stood there for like 15 to 20 minutes in a very hot day. We had our 3(three) month year daughter with us and was getting very uncomfortable. All the front desk staff acted like we were ghosts. We greeted them saying “hello” multiple times. Wanted a king room, instead got two double. Anthony was nice enough to move us to a King size bedroom. Please note thing what you see online is not what you get. Pictures online are not what you will get. So do your research. Night staff at the front desk terrible too, very rude. I have stayed at other resorts around the area and thought let’s try a new resort experience - well this one didn’t go well at all. Then our bathroom was leaking water from the ceiling. Notify the front desk, they managed to stop the leak, never cleaned the floating water in the bathroom by the toilet area. Facility is pretty out dated, could use some love for sure. Very hard to get towels, so please hold down to yours. Fridge in the room are very out dated, takes a very very very long time to cool. So if you need something to cool off fast, I would suggest bring your own cooler for back up. I more thing - make sure they give you the right bracelet’s - certain bracelets are like a vip service. Front gave us the WRONG once’s. Now let’s move to the rest of the staff, amazing in the dining area from cooks to service and around the resort.

One thing needed is a walk between the two housing units so you don't have to walk on the street or parking lot.

They offered to decorate my room for my anniversary, but what they put on was a white stripe on the door. There weren't the fruits, liquor bottles, or bed decorations they'd offered. Then, the hotel staff were very aggressive even when it came to serving me a drink. I don't recommend this place.

The location was beautiful. I really loved the layout, food and entertainment. However, I was disappointed with the room. Everything in the rooms are outdated. The bathroom could definitely use a renovation. The sliding door for my balcony kept jamming due to the bent door. The refrigerator was so loud that I couldn’t sleep and the door on it was rusted. The food was good and the staff was friendly.

The entertainment staff was the highlight of our trip. The bartenders were awesome. Sarah at the front desk was very knowledgeable and helpful. There needs to be more music playing throughout the day, I feel like it was too relaxing at some points. We were disappointed at the beach, the snack food options were dissatisfying, we expected more authentic Dominican foods. However Raul at the buffet gave us exceptional service and we were happy to see authentic foods there. Despite some disappointments, we would be returning to Gran Ventana because the staff was exceptional.

Loved the beach bar

The hotel is clean and my room was big with a comfortable bed. Toiletries and beverages were provided. I needed to rest, so I liked that it's small and everything was close to my room. I loved the balcony and could see the pool, the buffet, the bar and the theater from it. The highlight was the beach bar. I was able to relax while enjoying the amazing view and the nice breeze with a drink. I will return just because of that experience. Staff was very nice and friendly. The one thing that disappointed me was the food. The variety was ok, but they should do better with the quality.

Becareful if you book with someone that live in the country they will charge you $50.00 dollars extra per night even tho you book for 2 adults which if you booked with Expedia the hotel will tell you you book with someone else . The food is alright not that great breakfast is the same everyday but the staff is friendly and polite ; another issue the internet sucks no WiFi in some of the area of the hotel ; If you want to book is on your own risk.

The wifi is spotty.... But that's not why you're here on vacation. It's a beautiful all inclusive 3 restaurants. One is on the beach the grill, the Octopus is in the main part of the resort and the Italian restaurant is a short walk on the adjoining property by the adults pool.
The main pool and swim up bar is very nice until early afternoon when you notice no one gets out to use the restroom. Time to get out and shower off then! The rooms are beautiful and well kept. Trying to get the mini fridge restocked can be a challenge and the water in our bathroom sink wouldn't go down. It did only take 5 minutes to fix after 3 days of asking though. All in all is a wonderful place and will be returning. I loved the beach so much and snorkeling is great right in front of the hotel!

We stayed for 3 nights trying celebrating my birthday.
The food was good, but in the restaurant they pick up your plates, they don’t ask if you finish it or not.
when I still sleep in the morning, the housekeeper open the door without notice, she came to the room, and she don’t saying anything, (sorry).
Last day we went to the pools,
but went we came back the housekeeper take all the towels from the bathroom,
and we need take the bath.
So we have to go find the housekeeper, asking for towels, we not did for telephone because the phone don't work.
We make complaints about it, but they no do anything.
My husband has to go find in from decks for water and iron, we had to signed paperwork for this.
Some need to improve for costumer services they needs more respect for their customers.
