Premises was very clean, staff were friendly multiple activities throughout the day to engage families. The drawback for me was the pool water was very cold and no hot jetted hot pool. Additionally, it was a challenge to obtain a dinner reservation always full, we ended eating most of our stay in the buffet. Additionally, people smoke everywhere. The resort can improve on this by making a smoking designated area specially because there’s children being exposed.

Room in good condition. They didn't allowed me to get into my room til 4pm 😒. Food in the restaurant was ok, better food in the buffet. It was annoying the insistence to buy the hotel membership and took a lot of time time for activities that we planned . Be prepared for that. Otherwise, staff very friendly and clean rooms 👌

Staff service & authentic Dominican food were the highlights of the stay at this resort. My housekeeper was polite and kept my room spotless. The two dudes who work the lobby bar at night delivered poor service. I consider Iberostar to be overpriced for what I paid to stay there.

For a resort that is almost 30 years old very expensive. The VIP section didn’t have its own pool. It’s own bathroom. And the beach was almost unusable and the VIP also didn’t have its own restaurant. But on the good side, the staff overcompensated for the resorts faults and they made my stay enjoyable.

Let’s start off by saying entertainment team, beach and pool reserved restaurants are good! Now the rooms are humid do not drink the filtered water I got extremely sick as well as many others at the resort they gatekeep the water bottles and won’t provide it to you at all!!! Front desk is very stand off ish and rude the rooms have bugs buffet food nasty just overall wouldn’t go back again would go to a different resort

This was honestly a 5 star stay. The staff was amazing- they were personable, attentive, and overall just made you feel very welcomed. Usually I don’t care for all inclusive resort food, but I really really enjoyed the food here. Everything was flavorful and abundant. We stayed for New Year’s Eve and it was done very very nicely. There was a lot of thought and effort that was put in for the guest to enjoy themselves. It seems to me that the resort takes good care of its employees and it shows. I would stay here again without hesitation.

I loved my stay at Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada. My check-in was a little rough at first because my room was mixed up with my in-laws’ room and one of the keys wouldn’t open. However, the staff fixed everything quickly, and after that, it was smooth sailing.

The room was perfect—very clean and comfortable—and they even had an extra bed ready for my son. The staff was amazing from check-in to check-out. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and fun, and I truly enjoyed interacting with them throughout our stay.

A special shout-out to the Kids Club staff—they were incredible. I loved them, my son loved them, and they were absolutely wonderful with the kids. My son woke up every single day excited and ready to go to the Kids Club. The activities and itinerary were fantastic, especially the Christmas Eve celebration.

I would definitely book this resort again with my family and highly recommend it.

The property is nice but a little older than anticipated. It is very well maintained. Staff was very nice and will to help with any situation especially Perla and Migel. Perla was an angel. We would have loved more Dominican dishes and some ginger ale as a soda option.

Avoid the Italian restaurant. The lasagna and steak pizzaiola had no tomato sauce nor cheese. That's like ordering a pizza that comes with no sauce nor cheese, only crust.

The friendly staff was the only good thing, the resort is extremely outdated with a dial turn nob on the headboard as a thermostat which doesn’t work. The beach was cover with seaweed in all directions, the food was of poor quality and bland especially at the restaurants which we made reservations for, the one expresso coffee machine and salad bar were the only good options.

Lots of things -

Room - The telephone was broken. The air conditioner would not go below 70F and it was never fixed even after complaining twice. The toiletries were watered down so the body cream was watery consistency. The bathroom drain was not working and the whole shower would get drenched in water after taking shower.
Amenities - they had photographer on the facility and included one free picture per room but they didn’t honor it. When I lodged a complaint at the concierge, they were not interested in addressing the problem.

Food - there were very limited choices for food. Breakfast was the only decent meal - only due to fresh fruit, juices, eggs, guacamole and loads of breads. Pizza was the next best thing.

There were three dinner restaurants at the facility - Italian was the only good one with lots of vegetarian options. Japanese was decent but when requested to give more sushi / maki - they said we don’t have anymore. They had fixed quantity. It was the worst Mexican food I have ever had.
There was no flavor in the food and very limited lunch and dinner options for vegetarian.
For an all inclusive - they were very restrictive in their restaurant timings.
Amenities did not include even access to jacuzzi or sauna for free. It was very difficult to find activities that were going on in the facility. The tennis and pickleball courts had moss on it so they were slippery and patchy.
Drinks - not great variety in brands for drinks. Watered down drinks.

My husband and I were bitten by bedbugs and did not realized it until the last day of our stay unfortunately . When we contacted management and shown them the marks on our legs ( which is obvious signs of bedbugs bites ) they came into the room to pretend they checked the bed and told us we must have got it outside at the beach because the bed is new and they never had this happen in 20 yrs in this facility . Really ??? Talking about being dishonest and shifting the blame ...no apology or what so ever. I was very dissatisfied since this was an our wedding anniversary trip . I'm not sure how management is run here.

The father’s 80th birthday

The resort is very good the staff is very friendly, the food was good and fresh the place is clean the rooms are a bit outdated but clean. It was my father’s 80th birthday with 65 people family and friends. Everyone one had a great time. The only issue was with my reservation I needed to change my reservation because I went a day earlier and checked inn with sister so I had to change my reservation to my wife’s name I had emailed hotels.com to make the change and they emailed me back telling me that I could make those changes at the hotel but the hotel didn’t want to change the reservation because they said that they can’t make changes to a reservation that are not directly booked through their website after a long back and forth it was worked out

the workers are not super friendly, but not rude either,
most of them are just normal. the real issue is management or i guess their way of running things. check in is a mess and they send an email saying we can use online check in and asking what time we will arrive but upon arrival let us know check in is at 12 and we get the rooms at 3. then we went back at 3:30 for the room keys and they said we had to wait even longer. also mentioned that we wouldn’t be able to do reservations for dinner since we’re only staying 2 days but that was the part we were most looking forward to and this was not previously communicated to us. they resolved most of the issue for us so it wasn’t terrible but definitely more stressful and not as relaxing as it should have been as we constantly had to speak to the front desk to resolve issues. the food was good and typically fresh and the resort itself is nice and clean enough, cups or utensils were often times a little dirty but other than that the resort was clean.

Some of the staff was excellent like my concierge (Miguel) and other staff member were a bit rude and inattentive. The pool area was clean on the outside but the pool itself might need a better filtration system there was a lot on debris in the pool and some hair floating around. Also they offered very little activities at the pool or in the resort period. The music played at the pool was one dimensional, I like bachata but 24hrs a day at pool side was a bit depressing. Should play a variety of music to tend to all patrons. Also there were many locals at the resort and staff seemed to pay more attention to them than other patrons. The room was very well kept, my room was very clean and well stocked. Also had a problem when my son checked in, they lost his luggage and wasn’t able to track it down. It wasn’t till a patron who accidentally grabbed his bag alerted the front desk. We then had to follow him to his room to retrieve the luggage. If he hadn’t shown up who knows how long we would’ve waited. Also the resort offered 4 dining options, 3 restaurants and a buffet. Little did we know you that on most days 2 of the 3 restaurants were closed, leaving very little variety and also not many reservations. Lastly there was very little entertainment at night, I’ve been many resort and they usually offer shows or other activities. They were limited to a dj and a band. Sadly I will not return to this resort again.
