The room, staff, amenities and service was subpar with very rude attitudes. Any form of customer relations were non-existent. Expedia was a large part of the terrible vacation experience. Expedia advertised this resort as an adults only resort. IT IS NOT. Expedia did not do their due diligence in their responsibilities to provide the proper and accurate administrative submissions to the hotel which resulted in a $1250.00 USD payment to the hotel before a check in could be completed. The payment was taken without any complications however several visits to the front desk to get the money back was delayed for several days. This obviously resulted in hours of our vacation being interrupted by nonsense. We went without hot water in our bathroom sink the entire stay despite making several requests to have it repaired. There was garbage in our room from the previous tenants of the room. There is more but I’ve spent way too much of my time allowing this resort to live rent free in my head. Time to move on to much better places to relax and forget about life for a while.

Staff were very courteous and friendly. Food and service was very good, Our room was not great, it was clean and as described (family room), however we had repeated issues with the shower. Hot water was often not available, and the drain was blocked causing the bathroom to flood anytime the water was turned on. The room although clean felt damp, smelled musty, and there was mould on the walls. Staff did acknowledge the issue but it was not dealt with during our stay

We loved our stay! The rooms were clean and the housekeeping was fantastic! The buffet was good and the alacarte restaurants were also good. Make sure you set up your reservations early. We appreciated the smaller resort size and the very personable staff. Will definitely stay again!

Fridge, safe, bed, and patio all need help! Lots of broken things. 1 bar, low quality food, it's not on the beach like they state,but a long hike to the beach, and is next to stagnate water, so it stinks. Positive was Julio! He's knowledgeable, helpful, kind, and reasonable, and his water excursions are just Fantastic! Julio always has a beautiful smile, and exudes positivity!See Monkey Jungle, it was also phenomenal! Aurielio is an amazing bartender, and Sophia from Italy at the front desk was a huge help to me and others. I don't recommend this hotel, but I do Julio and his snorkeling etc, and monkey jungle. The General Manager was rude, didn't listen,and when we disagreed, she threatened me. Her name is Jennifer, and she has no idea how to deal with guests. Towel holder is 7.5 ft. High, there's mold on the property, shows were horrible, and in an outside room. Disco is blasted all day at the pool, the ocean is dirty. Even the \"fresh\" fruit is not ripe, coffee is bad, but cappuccino is good. The drinks are poorly made, and they use very little alcohol. Activities are poorly run, old cardboard beat cards, a hula hoop and some darts. If you win, you get a pouch of coffee. About what you need for 1 cup except without a filter. The prize is therefore as exciting as the games. When they do BINGO, it's only 1 or 2 games. Their idea of a mini bar is a broken mini refrigerator with 1 diet Coke and 1 Sprite. Wam needs to get their name off of this property! Never again!

The rooms had mold almost everywhere, and it appeared they just painted over the doors to cover it up. The bathroom floor was constantly wet and slippery. The door sensor frequently shut off, causing our keycards to malfunction about half the time. We had to call staff approximately five times to gain entry, even after ensuring the key cards were kept away from magnetic devices. The buffet primarily catered to tourists, disappointing those seeking an authentic Dominican culinary experience; we only had real Dominican food one day, and even then, some dishes were absent. As a Dominican myself, I was very disappointed. This was a family trip to celebrate my birthday and wedding anniversary. While the event staff was definitely the highlight, keeping guests entertained with great shows, unfortunately, two family members became ill during our stay, making the trip less than desired. The property is not very family-friendly for small children. The pool was the only draw, but guests were allowed to smoke in and by the pool. Although the staff was great and genuinely concerned, overall, I will NOT be booking Viva Heavens in the future.

This resort was very nice , the rooms are very spacious the A/C is the best . The food was great . Staff members were very friendly. We want to personally thank Maria and Estefani they were always very attentive and made our stay and my Dads birthday a special one . Ernesto from the tours was great we had a wonderful experience at paradise island it’s a must do. Specially on a Saturday when it was very busy . Hendry was very friendly and welcoming . Some evenings we had dinner outside in front of the pool and that was very nice and beautiful . The vibe was very romantic and nice. The beach is very close and a beautiful walk , The place is super nice and clean . Compared to other resorts we been this one is small and everything is close by. Gym staff Adonis were also great and very motivating . We had a wonderful time. And we will definetly be back .

Viva Heavens is a small resort with a long walk to the beach. The buffet for breakfast and lunch and snacks are subpar to say the least however the restaurant food was really good. The resort is middle of the road budget friendly. You get what you pay for. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful.

We liked that the cleaning staff cleaned daily.Unfortunately the room has deteriorating due to water leaking from hvac system.. the bathroom sheetrock on ceiling was peeling off due to leaking. The hvac filter was dirty and needed replacement. The hvac system probably needed maintenence. The sliding door patio had failed wheels for sliding door open..you literally had to push hard.. Hopefully this was just an isolated event. Overall, we would come back, the benefits still outweighed the pesky inconveniences.

My family and I went for a birthday celebration and it was our first trip to DR. The service and staff were excellent, very friendly and professional. The buffet was so good and a whole variety in food choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The room/suite was a good size and the fridge was always reloaded with water and soda each day. The drinks were okay. The beach area was always clean.
The only thing that may need to improve in the near future is Wi-Fi connection and providing more towels in the rooms. We only got 2 or 3 clean towels each day and we were a party of 5. But overall I give it a 10!!!

I never had a parking issues at any hotel that I’ve stayed before, but this place.. beware. This place has very limited parking space. I had to leave because the vehicle I was driving was a rental and I didnt want to run the risk of something happening to it. Long story short, after I checked in, the security guard had sent me to a nearby mall to park my car. Absolutely not. The hotel had then offered to resolve the problem but at that point there was nothing to resolve because the parking was full. I contacted expedia & the hotel and they both refused to refund me my money back. Stay away from this place.

day of arrival the pool was emptied to be cleaned and was closed the following day. Causing us to have a morning with no water and the entire trip had no warm water for showering, it was cold showers all week. There was ants and fleas in our room not on beds but in drawers and counters. The food was okay but the a la carte restaurants are closed on Tuesday and Thursday so you have to eat at the buffet those nights. The app has a schedule of events but it is not accurate. We purchased a couples package and didn’t receive half the things promised. We were supposed to have a variety of classes which were open to everyone and not private and we didnt even get to go to them all. We were promised a private dj class per a package we booked. We were told a time to meet the DJ. When that time came around it didnt exist, no one knew what we were talking about. The viva club team brought a great experience to the vacation with games and contests. However they could use more variety of games/contests but overall they made the trip worth our time and kept us busy despite all the hotel/expedia inconveniences. The hotel claims all the inconveniences are due to issues with Expedia and were hesitant to supply us with an email stating we did not receive the services paid for. Over all the only compensation we received was a bottle of champagne, despite a day with no pool, a day with no running water, days without warm water, restaurants closed half the time and our package being incorrect.

The only thing worthy was the stunning view of the beach, other than that everything else was not as expected. Many of the guest that were there were not polite and respectful, the pool was filthy and dirty not to mention that the filter stopped working and they never warned anyone about the situation. My family vacation was completely ruined and we asked for a refund the first night we were there but they gave us a run around it looks like they had an answer to everything we needed to say.

I had a fantastic experience staying at this hotel. One of the standout highlights was the excellent local food offered—fresh, flavorful, and a true taste of the region. It made every meal something to look forward to.

The staff was incredibly friendly and serviceable, always ready to help with a smile. From check-in to check-out, their hospitality made me feel genuinely welcome and well cared for.

The rooms are extremely outdated and unsanitary. The food options are very, very limited. Many times there are just scraps of food to be found and whatever food you do find is cold, undercooked, and not edible. Customer service is nonexistent. The entire place needs a major overhaul. I was scheduled to stay for a total of seven nights and had to check out early after just one night there. That’s how bad the hotel is.

Evelyn the manager was great, but unfortunately food was horrible and most people didn’t care. I was expecting a very relaxing time and my wife almost had an asthma attack. Room very humid and the air condition was really bad. I was trying to get a refund and leave earlier but I knew the cancellation policies were not good for me and Evelyn changed our mind and got a different room and it was perfect for us. But the whole experience wasn’t good and it wasn’t cheap either for a family of 4. I can get a 5 star hotel in Punta Cana for the same price. The beach is another story. It is so beautiful and peaceful, that you don’t think you’re in that hotel. Playa Dorada is so beautiful and they should get that place back in the map. Definitely not coming back to this hotel and I don’t recommend it either.

This resort was exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for a small resort to take my kids on their first international trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful, lots of games and activities, and it wasn’t over crowded. Everything was clean, reservations were easy to come by, and I never had a hard time finding a good seat by the pool or the beach.

Замечательное место для семейного отдыха. Чистый удобный номер. Вкусная еда и замечательный кофе))). Весёлая анимация днём и вечером, очень увлекательно. Чистый пляж, великолепная пиццерия. Много хороших ярких эмоций мы получили покатавшись на катамаране с весёлым капитаном. Дорожка к пляжу вдоль пруда с черепахами тоже помогла погрузиться в атмосферу отдыха. Хорошее место: есть всё нужное и ничего лишнего.

We were disappointed to find that the à la carte restaurants were closed for the duration of our 5-day stay, with only one available option for one of the days. This was not communicated to us in advance, which significantly affected our overall experience. Additionally, the hot tub was out of service throughout our visit.

More concerning were the instances of roaches—three found in our room and another near the buffet area. While we understand that humidity can contribute to this issue, it raises concerns about cleanliness and maintenance standards.

On a positive note, the staff were consistently friendly and courteous, which we appreciated. However, the lack of transparency regarding amenities and the presence of pests made this stay fall short of our expectations. We were told more is offered on the weekend but we were there during the week.

Positive: Beautiful resort & perfect beach. The service & staff were amazing. Lots of activities for the kids & the staff worked hard to make your stay an enjoyable one. They upgraded us to a VIP room which was very new & renovated.

Negative: even though there were 4 a la carte restaurants, they only allowed us to use one out of our three nights. The reason was because it was low season. This was very disappointing as this is the main reason I booked this resort. The food lacked quality & variety.

My recent visit to Viva Heavens by Wyndham in Puerto Plata was truly enjoyable, and I wanted to share some highlights.
From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. The resort itself is beautiful, with well-maintained grounds and a lovely pool area perfect for relaxing. My room was comfortable and clean, offering a pleasant retreat after a day in the sun.
One of the absolute standouts of my trip was the food, thanks in large part to Chef Amaurys. His culinary skills were evident in every dish I tried. The variety and quality of the meals were exceptional, and Chef Amaurys consistently delivered delicious and memorable dining experiences. It's clear he puts a lot of passion into his work, and it truly elevated the gastronomic aspect of my stay.
Equally impressive were the entertainment staff. Their energy and enthusiasm were infectious! They organized a fantastic range of activities throughout the day and evening, ensuring there was always something fun happening. Whether it was poolside games, dance lessons, or evening shows, the entertainment team created a lively and engaging atmosphere that added so much to the overall vacation experience. Their ability to connect with guests and make everyone feel included was remarkable.
Overall, Viva Heavens by Wyndham provided a fantastic getaway. The combination of excellent food, thanks to Chef Amaurys, and the outstanding entertainment team made made for a truly memorable vacation. I'd highly recommend it.

Our entire group of girls had an amazing time at Viva Heavens. The staff were extremely welcoming and made our stay so much better. The food was also good for an all-inclusive. We couldn’t have asked for a better time. Even some of the entertainment employees became our friends. We also went during the “off-season” so the hotel was a bit quieter but we didn’t mind that at all since the employees still made it enjoyable. The cleaning service was also very good and always catered to our needs. Very good stay and would come back again. :))

We recently stayed at Viva Heavens by Wyndham with our family and, while the facility itself was well-maintained and the beach beautiful, there were serious issues that would prevent us from ever returning.

Most of the staff, including bar and concierge services, were friendly and professional. However, the front desk was a major exception—consistently uncooperative, inflexible, and in one disturbing instance, refused to return my daughter’s passport, creating a situation that felt inappropriate and alarming. As a parent, this was deeply unsettling, especially in a foreign country. I escalated the incident to upper management, who handled the report professionally, but the experience has stayed with us. If you're traveling with children or are a woman traveling alone, I would strongly caution against staying here.

The food was another major disappointment—bland at best, and in some cases, caused illness among members of our group. In over 20 years of travel, this was easily the worst food experience we've had on vacation. Given the health issues and lack of quality or variety, the dining alone is enough reason to look elsewhere.

In summary: Safety concerns at the front desk, poor food quality, and illness from food/drink made this a regrettable stay. Spend a little more and go to a resort with higher standards.

The property was well maintain and the food was really good and the only thing is the animation team was not as good it needs more improvement

My family and I went on vacation to Viva Heavens and had an amazing time. The resort is smaller than the usual, but the food and entertainment were great. The staff were also very welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend if you’re looking for an affordable, relaxing, and calm vacation.

My daughter has celiac disease. When we made the reservation, we made sure we called the hotel ourselves and told them about this. They said they were options for her to eat. When we arrived, we received a letter in Spanish explaining that she had celiac disease and that we were to give that letter to all of the people who were involved in restaurants. Unfortunately, there were some places who served food who did not understand the letter. In my opinion, this is where speaking English is a benefit to Tourists even though the letter was in Spanish, they still did not understand and when we tried to explain, they did not understand us. Celiac disease is something that we don’t mess around with given this reason as to the workers not understanding the tourist who were staying at their hotel is how I rate an average.

We loved, all of the dance instructors and yoga. Ms. Marie from the front desk was wonderful and so was Ms. Juana from Viva Club. Our Private Tour guide Mr. Enrique was knowledgeable and kind and we really enjoyed the drive around. The all inclusive food options from breakfast-Dinner were fresh and hearty and delicious. Hard working people, professional and kind. We will visit again and want to join membership.

Viva Heavens has been the best hotel I have stayed in. This was my 2nd year visiting in a row. I LOVE EVERYTHING about Viva Heavens. Such friendly staff who go out of their way to make you happy. The food is delicious, especially the Buffet restaurant. Every night is a different menu and the 4 restaurants are truly fine dining. The hotel and rooms are very clean. And above all i felt exteemely safe at all times.

Food choices was horrible wasted alot of food, your choices in meat be still tough hard to chew and a lot of pork daily. Cleaning ladies let mosquitos in the room when cleaning so they bite you in the room at night. Bring insect spray. Air Conditioner unit stay broke doesn't get very cold bring a small fan. You have to remain in your room all day until they fix it you cant go out or they will stop working on the unit..SPA- massage is a waste of 115 dollars unless you want a rub down in baby oil they dont actually massage your muscles just rub excessive amount of baby oil on for 1 hour 20 mins. You leave the same way you went in just oily. Other than that enjoy the scenery of the beach.
