I’ve stayed at many different properties in Cabarete over the course of seven years and Hotel Villa Taina is my favorite one. The property itself is maintained very well and kept very clean, and the location, in my opinion, is the best in Cabarete. The front desk, housekeeping and restaurant staffs all provided excellent service. The breakfast buffet offered high-quality, delicious options.

the cleaninness was ok. it is the fact that they do not offer whant you guys promote ( gym (unworkable) no pilates, no yoga, no parking) and then they charge in advance and force people to stay. THey only gave me two free breakfast

Excellent for a kite vacation. You can launch directly in front of the hotel and can rent lockers from them to store your gear. The room itself was very nice and clean. My only complaint was that the AC was stuck at 18C, which was way too cold (but then again I never asked them to try to fix it so part of it is on me).

Please be aware about this place, they said they have parking included but is not true, they only have place for 3 cars, you have to park in the street which is not safe or pay extra in somewhere else, the food it’s terrible and expensive, the Intermet yes very very slow they give you a ticket that only let around 12 hours, they have hide fees that you are never advise about it but in the end, bed it’s uncomfortable, noisy rooms, the bath tub doesn’t drain, in our arrival we ask Expedia to help us to move to other hotel and they did absolutely nothing, please don’t stay here and thanks for nothing Expedia!

This is typically more than I pay per night for accommodations on my visits to cabarete but it was close to the beach and it advertised a third floor view of the ocean. I could see the ocean, but it was blocked by the thatch roof of the restaurant and to the right it was occluded by coconut trees. Not exactly top floor ocean view as advertised. Not a bad place, very close to everything which was nice. But I will probably try a different place on my next visit.

A beautiful hotel literally on the beach and within walking distance of many other establishments. It is a clean, vibrant and assessible property managed by polite, bi-lingual staff.
I stayed at this hotel exactly one year earlier so I can't help but to compare the two stays; For one, I was disappointed that breakfast was NOT included this time. I overlooked that detail when making the reservation. I assumed things remained the same. My oversight, but still a disappointment. Furthermore, the breakfast menu differed vastly and wasn't nearly as good as the previous year. Secondly, the television in the room was quite small; A minor complaint, as TV viewing was not a priority. Overall, an enjoyable vacation and will seriously consider a third stay at Villa Taina.

I have never had such a terrible experience in my entire life. I paid for my reservation online and I have been asked cash to be able to check in. We did not have any cash, so the guy tried to pressure us into going to the ATM to withdraw cash for him. We spent Bout an hour in the lobby trying to explain them that we had already paid for our reservation, however they never gave us access to our rooms. It was in the middle of the night, they didn’t let us check in so we had to drive to go sleep in the next town. It was a horrible experience and I don’t wish that one up on anybody.

This is a very nice construction super clean and right on the beach on one side and the main drag strip on the other side. Great service and nice rooms we were on the 4th floor and had the terrace and a huge king bed. Breakfast at the beach reataurant was great and served buffet stayle and a la carte. Good value.

This was a great place to stay close and convenient to everything that you would need far as restaurants stores and more importantly the beach. Staff was friendly and was willing to help you out with anything that you need it. The rooms were comfortable and the cleaning service keep the room tidy while you were out. Charming, with a charming staff. Wendy, point-person extraordinaire, is tireless in his cheerful efforts to make sure guests have a pleasant stay at Villa Taina.
Covid has hit hard this usually vibrant, tourist-centered community of local activities, attractions, and especially water sports. Small excursion organizers, hotels, condos, restaurants, bars, cafes and surf schools/rentals are still very much in business, and following every Covid-safety measure, with greatly reduced capacity, they continue offering services in great cheer and spirit.

The service was superb specially at the restaurant...! The rest of the staff it seems like they didn’t care. The smell in the room was like something was rotting and the mattress was terrible... ended up with lower back pain every morning and a lack of sleep because of it. The last day of my stay I ended up sleeping on the little bed and the mattress was so much better... the problem is that my lovely lady and I ended up spewing in a single bed due to the mattress in the queen bed! Wondering how often they change their mattresses. Lastly, there is construction going on next door and you will not be needing an alarm as they will wake you up staring at 7:00am! Yeah, my vacations sleeping in was not possible because of the construction next door and the noise last all day long or until 5:00pm so make sure you are aware of this before booking...! Unfortunately we got a room right next to the construction work and is was terrible... sorry to say this but omg... I don’t know if everyone can handle it! Specially people with kids. Cheers

The property has no parking and extremely hard to find; cause THEY ADVERTISED THE BACK OF THE PROPERTY. THE HOTEL’S FRONT LOOKS LIKE CRAP!!! I had a booking for 4 nights, but upon arrival I tried opening my window and there was nothing but garbage and funky smells coming out of it. I’ve complained to the staff who was Mr. Wendy, but he was VERY RUDE AND DID NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE SITUATION. I’ve told him that: if he doesn’t change my room, I will check out the next day. He replied “ SO WHAT” Well everything happens for a reason. Thanks to Mr. WENDY’s UNPROFESSIONALISM I’m now a member of LifeStyle Vacation Club which is THE NICEST AND MOST LUXURIOUS HOTEL IN THE AREA OF CABARETE. This guy WENDY HAS NO BUSINESS DOING CUSTOMER SERVICE. Perhaps, he should be A BELLBOY; which will be MORE SUITABLE FOR HIM. Just MY OPINION

Well, we where lucky. Our room was a delight with a terrace overlooking the sea. The hotel is well run. Lots of activities and a nice restaurant.
There is an element of noise and activity at the front of the hotel. Happy we where facing the sea. Be aware of this when booking. The rooms are still pleasant and clean but noisy with no veiw.
Also, the water is not drinkable. We did receive a fee bottle for the first night which we appreciated., however I feel there should have been a source of water available to the guests at all times in the lobby for refilling. The big bottles are very inexpensive and should be doable. Clean drinkable water is an essential.
I would go back to this hotel.

Small hotel but operated like a resort hotel. Very nice. Would definitely come back again. Most of the staff were great.
At check in the young lady spoke barely no English which was a little bit of a problem. I assume in a tourist area they would speak more than this person at reception did.
Most of the rest of the staff spoke more English and we had next to no issues with that.
Food was good, bar was great. Did not meet up with any housekeeping but had no issues there at all. Beach was nice. Spa was good as was the therapist.

We had a great stay at La Villa Taina. The room was more spacious than we expected, comfortable, and clean. The restaurant was good, with a lovely breakfast, and you can’t beat the location - right in the town center next to all the shops and restaurants. Parking is very tight so you wouldn’t be able to park right there, but we didn’t rent a car so no problem for us. If you are a kite surfer, you can rent right in front of the hotel and take off from there. For everyone else, the hotel’s location on the beach is good, just at the border where the kites are not permitted so you can swim, but I enjoyed sitting there on a beach chair and watching the kites. If you have a child this is a nice spot because front loop is a place where kids congregate - my 9 year old son found lots of children to play soccer with on the beach in front of the hotel. The gym has no air conditioning and is small, but there are daily fitness and yoga classes at the hotel. WiFi on the beach is spotty.

Love the beach area, restaurant and bar seating areas. The 2nd floor open-air yoga studio was awesome! Very nice access to the beach, windsurfing/kite-sailing rentals, etc. Super close to the beach-side restaurants and shopping. Staff was very nice. Our room was very difficult to sleep in though due to road noise (honking, motorcycle engines, people talking/yelling/whistling), super hard mattresses, and uncomfortable pillows. It was 3rd floor, over the lobby, near the street. Also, no WiFi was available on 3rd floor. It worked marginally in lobby and 2nd floor, and worked great if we went up to the 4th floor. It worked great down at the beach bar.

So nice and on the beach!! The pool was great and staff so professional and kind. I opted for the massage and we did yoga!! It was perfect. The only issue are the some of the ridiculously snobby and classist guests that treat the staff poorly, it's out of our control but just annoying to see. The staff was consistently professional even when dealing with rude people. Thank you Hotel Villa Taina for a wonderful stay!

When booking in some areas in the Dominican Republic looks can be deceiving but when we arrived I felt the photos I saw online and other information posted on different sites was accurately reflected of the hotel. Our room was on the ground floor not far from reception, it was very clean, it was quiet at night (I expected more noise from foot traffic due to its location but that was not the case) and it was a comfortable stay for my wife, young daughter and I. The staff and security was very friendly and helpful. Prior to arrival my wife called for information on the best way to arrive there from Santo Domingo, we used to info given and it was indeed the best vs how our friends arrived. The beach was very clean, the areas around the hotel clean and everyone was very attentive and nice. The hotel restaurant was priced accordingly and had good options (we ate lunch there twice) and the staff again was very nice and pleasant. The hotel is simple but offers things such as massages, kite rentals (we didn’t use these services but many people did. They were busy). My 5 year old enjoyed the pool, it was cleaned daily. They also had lots of beach toys to use, had beach seating and offered beach umbrellas and towels (all included in the stay). The value per night, friendly staff, clean rooms and walking distance to other places makes this hotel desirable.

This Hotel was good. We stayed for about a week. The room was ok, we had issues with the toilet and the beds were alright for comfortablity. The location was excellent, walk outside to a nice pool and the beach. The breakfasts in the morning were great! Staff was all around generally very nice. Expect there was one gentleman who absolutely insisted we tip him cash, when it’s not required. He got a little pushy about that which was weird. Overall good stay.

Arrived on a Monday,check in was wrong but fixed right away, staff was good room was nice and clean drinks at the bar with friendly staff,Maria came through and we were moved to the main building Wednesday ,security was excellent and kept us safe ,given free breakfast ,lunch and dinner and ate with other guest in hotel.general manager made sure we were comfortable.....Friday was great beach was nice and clean and check out was nice we definitely recommend.

First: The good stuff: I REALLY liked this hotel. I was a bit apprehensive about not staying at a non-chain hotel like Hilton, but there is no option like that in Cabarete. Still, Hotel Villa Taina seemed to be the best option and I was not disappointed. It's perfectly located on the beach. Exit in the back of the hotel and after a few feet you hit all the bars and restaurants. A few more feet and you are in the warm waters of the South Atlantic. The restaurants on site offered both value and quality. And it's far away from the hustle and bustle of the town's main strip than you can easily fall asleep.

One complaint: For two nights, I had a friend stay over. The hotel's policy on this is ridiculous. They charge you 30 dollars per person, per night. PLUS they want the person'd ID card and they keep it until the person leaves. AMERICAN HOTELS DO NOT DO THIS. Who you have stay in your hotel room as a guest is nobody's business. And sadly, the person in charge that day made me and my guest feel like criminals for doing it. He gave off a really weird vibe that was unbecoming of a hotel staff member. That said, all the other hotel staffers were really friendly and warm. But his behavior really disappointed me. He made my guest feel unwelcome and we did not appreciate this.

Separately, the pool on premises is REALLY small. But with such an amazing beach, I didn't really care.

Bottom line: I'd likely stay there again

Perfectly located, friendly staff

Very well located hotel, close to restaurants, on the beach and walking distance to various kite schools. Rooms are very clean staff is very friendly. Personally I think they should invest in same higher end beds and linnen, as well as towels. Good vibe in the bar and restaurant. Enjoyed our stay.

Close to beach and restaurants

The best part about the hotel is location. Beautiful beach, in the heart of the action, enjoyed watching more than a hundred kite surfers in acction, good restaurants. After we checked out, we left our luggage at the front desk for the rest of the day free of charge so we could expend the day at a nearby beach. Friendly personal.
