Hotel was a bit out of the centre in the industrial working area so the surrounding area was quite dirty… full of rubbish in the streets but as soon as you were in the centre (which was about a 40 minute walk) it had the lively Italian vibe
Hotel was clean and tidy… the description is wrong though as it’s the hotel opposite that has the lounge area, outdoor seating and bar
Breakfast was very good with plants of variety to eat

I did appreciate being hidden away a little from the busier street, though. The blankets and towels smelt a little bad and bed was not the most comfortable

This was first of 2 hotels we stayed in while visiting Naples. If you want the bare minimal, this hotel will work fine. If you are staying with your family and plan to walk, do not stay here. The area is all industrial. Taxi into town can be under 20 euro. The hotel is within walking distance from a metro. Staff was not very helpful when it came to any help, besides ordering a taxi. It appears the hotel has been under construction for quite a few years. No restaurant or bar as stated on Expedia. There is a restaurant in the hotel across the alley, that is associated with Hotel Tiempo. I would not recommend. Our food was served cold. We sent back our almost full plates, no one asked why. I do not trust receiving replacement food, we decided to not go back. There are signs all over the hotel that say you can not bring in any food from another source. No take-away food allowed. I understand it's you have a rodent or insect problem to not allow other food in, but they offer room service. If you do not want anyone in your room and put the sign up to not have your room made up, they come in anyway. I assume to be sure you do not bring in any food from another restaurant. The next hotel we stayed at was a little more expensive but 100% better with everything. I would recommend Hotel Vergilius Billia. Pleasant staff, better location, better accommodations, and great food. Restaurant and bar attached to the hotel.

Lots of hair in the tub. The hotel is under construction. The rooms are not even finished. No iron or steamer and no phone. Every issue you must go downstairs. They charged the dinner to my room but wouldn’t put it on the credit card I gave them when I checked it. Had to give it to them again. The restaurant- the waitress was explained allergic to mushroom and one vegetable plate with tell seafood dishes. She charged me for two vegetable my sister couldn’t eat any. They have signs up threatening you if you bring in take away food in their hotel. The outside is down an alley. Very sketchy. Very bad part of town. The front desk said $21.50 to airport. The cab meter said $10.50. He charged us $31.50. Wouldn’t recommend.

It’s a wonderful hotel, with great rooms and staff overall. The surrounding area is a bit weird, but you can easily get a taxi (trusted by the hotel) and a shuttle from the center to the hotel every night.

My stay at Hotel Tiempo was terrific! The multilingual staff was so helpful (I needed them to help me with a few administrative things and they were so nice), the daily breakfast was delicious and the hotel was exactly as described. It is in a somewhat inconvenient neighborhood, but I expected that from looking at a map before I arrived. As with most things in Naples, the neighborhood looked rough, but was not so; I was a 20 minute walk to piazza garibaldi and was very easy to use as a central point for the city.

Clean and cheap hotel in the industrial area of Napoli, close to linea 2 gianturco which takes you to town centre in 3 stops.

Food was good and varied for breakfast - must say i preferred the fresh pastries to the eggs and sausage.

All rooms are clean and well maintained. Air conditioning works well for hot summers.

Only downside is the poor eateries around the hotel (pizza and chinese food) and the dirty area. If you dont mind it, its good and accessible

They did not change my towel . I had no room clean towel for three days . My room was by clean for three days .. The housekeeper could not speak English and she called the receptionist to tell her my room was not priority .. The new customers room is priority …. Apart form that it was amazing …

The hotel is very clean and the staff is amazing! Although the hotel is under construction, we didn’t hear any noise. Breakfast is included and quite good. The rooms are small, the beds are a bit stiff, and the pillows are uncomfortable. It's suitable for a one- or two-night stay at most.

The surrounding area is dirty and unappealing, with garbage everywhere—it feels a bit unsafe. I wouldn’t recommend walking around at night. However, the hotel is not far from the metro, which takes you directly to the city center.

Hotel Tiempo is nice, we had a clean and spacious room with a great roof terrace. There isn't a restaurant but guests can use the sister hotel directly opposite a small road. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. However, the surrounding area is very industrial and dirty which would put us off staying there again. There is litter everywhere and very few places to eat in the nearby vicinity. It was ok for our one night stay but will choose somewhere more central next time.

Hotel Tiempo was comfortable and very clean, but facilities were basic. If all you're looking for is a place to put your head down at night and have a decent breakfast, it will do the job but don't expect mod cons beyond Wifi. Please note the hotel is in the semi-industrial Gianturco area of Naples /Napoli and 5 km from Napoli Old Town to the north. If you want to goo to Pompeii and Vesuvius, go to Napoli-Gianturco station, but use Via Gianturco for Heraculum (Ercolano). Reception staff are very friendly and helpful, but serving staff in restaurant respond better to you trying a few words of Italian. Breakfast is part-buffet (tea, coffee, fruit juice, cereal, butter, jam), but you must wait to be served for cooked items or cakes noting this is not immediately obvious. The gym advertised elsewhere has been removed. There was one breakdown in communication with reception over taxi fares to airport where I was quoted 35 Euros (I'm gathering a night rate) but a friend was quoted 23 Euros (a day rate) leading to me overpaying - I should have rechecked. However, this was one unintentional blip in what was a good level of service with plenty helpful advice. Remember to pay your tourist tax upon checking out with this 4 Euros 50 cents per night at time of writing.

Me and my daughter had a wonderful time at hotel Tiempo. The staff is very helpful and friendly with everything you need, specially Mario and Anna (desk)
We can’t forget about Anna (keeper) - always smiling and helping with anything we ask. Also we had a great conversation with Nunzia (another hotel staff member) always making us laugh. Definitely a good time visiting hotel Tiempo.

terrible service — I was locked outside several times because there was no one at the reception. I arrived tired and had to wait for someone to show up and open the door for me. The location is also awful. Even though it’s technically ‘close’ to the metro, I felt unsafe walking alone, especially since it’s an industrial area with lots of men on the street making inappropriate comments. There’s also nothing nearby for lunch or dinner (just the \"hotel restaurant\" which is expensive. On top of everything, I had to leave at 5 a.m. for my flight and wasn’t even given a breakfast kit, which is usually offered when guests leave before breakfast hours. I was staying on the third floor, supposedly the top floor, and yet there was still a lot of noise coming from other rooms, the hallway, and even from upstairs (which doesn’t make much sense?)

Breakfast was ok croissants were so good. We were safe at this hotel slot of their police was staying there. It’s 6 stops by bus from train station.$15 for a taxi to the pier. The hotel called the taxi for us. Restaurant in hotel never seemed open so go early maybe you will have better luck. Room was cheap beds twins small stiff no frills-but was expected due to price. Stay if u want have money for tours. Shuttle runs smoothly you have to go to the other hotels parking lot. Shuttle runs at night. Room decent size. Lobby nice so was breakfast area. There is a few restaurants around but not alit around.

Confusing photos on Hotels .com website rrgarding the entrance as there is no awning and comfortable seating at the front.
Quite a scruffy backstreet entrance which was a bit of a worry on arrival and a little further outside the old town than anticipated. The staff, cleanliness and breakfast made up for it.

I booked for this hotel but was moved to their Sister hotel Magris opposite due to renovation work. We had the best holiday. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Helped book us taxis and answered all of our questions. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were nice with comfy beds and nice bathrooms. The food was lovely with a good selection at breakfast. Don't be put off by other reviews. Yes it is in an industrial area but it’s great for a base, 5 min walk to the train station and you can go anywhere very cheaply as trains are only a few Euro and easy to use. We got taxis to the ferry port for €15 each way (need cash for this) and visited other places by ferry via ferry hopper website. Hotel only 15 mins from Naples air port taxi around €35… so easy to get around the city. Definitely returning next year. Can’t praise the staff enough, they made our stay lovely.

Rooms were stuffy and air quality within made it irritatingfor the lungs.

Hi, stayed there for 3 nights. Day 1, toilet was broken and when you take shower all bathroom floor covered with water. Room changed next day. On Hotel description it said that they have a restaurant and caffè but Restaurant was in a different location in another hotel and we never find the cafeteria open. Overall it was ok but not as it was described on the site.

Hotel situated down a dark side street Ist room on arrival. in the attic Major Iron girder floor to ceiling along side the bed. No Air-con. Bed and pillows was very lumpy, bedding was 1 thin white sheet and 1 thin counterpain. no tea or coffee maker no iron No Wifi, changed to Room 2 larger but still all the previous concerns apart from the Girder view from the window \"a brick wall\" Buffet breakfast was cold ham,cheese Salami or cakes. Staff were pleasant, polite, attentive, Evening food and drinks were served across the road at a different hotel. Booking online the photos were of that hotel not the Tiempo Patrons were not allowed to consume food, drink or anything brought from outside the hotel to the room.

good enough basic B&B hotel in industrial area

B&B only, no lunch/dinner/tea/coffee provided, dinner is available in adjacent/sister hotel there are a couple of nearby local/chinese resturants (the Steak house deserves a geat mention).
Breakfast is cold buffet that could be more closely monitored for replenishing stocks, the only thing hot is the tea/coffee, found the museli quite tasty.
Hotel reasonably close (walkable but Metro close by, one stop to main square) to city center but it is in an industrial/port area.
Naples may be \"the crime capital of Italy\" but we didn't encounter it.
The streets could be cleaner but you've just got to watch where you're putting your feet
The big thing to look out for in all of Naples is the driving you take your life in your hands to cross the road, the green man does not appear to convey a safe crossing point, be daring (or you won't get accross the road) but be very careful, motorbikes/cars/buses will come from nowhere.

If this hotel could be lifted up and moved somewhere else it would be fine. We chose it because it had a free car park but the area surrounding it is quite run down (like most of Naples actually). I wouldn’t like to walk back to this hotel alone at night. Some people we met had a drink at a local bar and were told that ‘it would be a good idea if you leave’ by a local gang.
It’s a shame as the hotel itself is perfectly fine although the breakfast was one of the worst I’ve ever had.

At first I was surprised by the good reviews that Tiempo had received from hotels.com. I was not aware of the neighborhood, but given the price I guess it is to be expected. The staff were helpful & kept the room clean. The roof terrace was a nice place to end the evening looking at Naples in the distance. I think it is important to know that the subway to Naples shuts at 9:30 pm. Tiempo does provide hourly evening shuttles til 11:30, but NOT on Sunday.

The staff was very helpful and polite. They made good recommendations regarding what to do in Naples. The free evening/night shuttle was an excellent perk!! Breakfast was just okay and one of the mornings I was rushed by staff in their breakfast room. But overall it was okay. I only stayed here because we needed parking. If you don’t have a car then I would recommend staying closer to the historic center. The hotel was fine however.

The location was horrible, in an industrial area, very dirty area. You had to eat at the hotel next door which only opened for supper. The room needed an overhaul, new bedding and the walls could be washed. Super loud, and beds were so hard. The only good thing about this hotel was the fantastic desk staff. I cannot stress enough how horrible the area is...had I realized, I never would have booked here.

Do not recommend.

I had read previous reviews about this hotel and did not mind that it was an \"out of way\" location when I was booking. But this location is horrible and the neighborhood is awful - even our driver told us not to walk in the area as it is too dangerous. There was no restaurants in the area (just one). The rooms were so loud, we could not sleep at all! The air conditioning did not work well. The only thing this hotel had going for it, was that the staff were super nice. I would never stay here again...I almost did not get out of our car when we were dropped off...I wanted to tell him to keep driving and that we would find somewhere else...that is how horrible the area is. We only stayed for one night as our stopover to the airport...I would not even do that again.

I am fit and enjoy walking when I travel. That said, the location of the hotel is sub-optimal to what most would want to do in Naples. The neighborhood is run down. We're talking large trash bins overflowing, mattresses on the sidewalk, cracked and pot-holed sidewalks (where there are sidewalks), piles of unattended pet guano (there must be large dogs in the area) and of course graffiti everywhere you turn.
Moving on to the hotel... there were smokers congregating at the entrance and on the stair cases. The free breakfast is poor quality and you will want to eat elsewhere. Oh, and you cannot bring outside food back to the room - this is their policy- but the restaurant choices near the hotel are few and uninviting, so some time was spent trying to circumvent their policy by hiding bananas or quickly walking by reception on the way back to the room with a coffee. The noise level in the hotel for our specific room was unacceptably high. It was a spring break weekend and many of the rooms in the general area where having boom-box parties on their patios. The hotel staff did not intervene.

The hotel is out of the way from the city centre, about 20 mins, and is set back from the road giving the impression that it is in a nicer location than it is. The food was terrible, and the mattresses had no absorption at all so I had a terrible night's sleep. The drain in the shower is partially blocked so water drains very slowly, filling up the shower basin, and the toilet only flushes after several attempts. Overall not a good stay.

the Hotel itself is nice, close to the metro but and this is a big but. We as a couple did not feel safe to go out at night at all. even the hotel is providing a shuttle to go in Naples downtown at night.

Nice hotel

Perfect hotel in a budget in comparison with prices in Naples. Nice, clean and better staff. Big rooms and private parking. Easy to get to the centre by train in 5 min but they have free shuttle service in the evenings that is great!

Fairly good hotel in a somewhat rough area

We stayed 4 nights with children. The hotel was good. Room had a few signs of wear and tear, but ok overall. Staff very helpful.

great hotel, poor neighbourhood

we cannot complain at all about the hotel, (the usual wear and tear) but the location is industrial/slum area and can be quite daunting to walk along.

Short stay in Naples

We were upgraded to hotel Magris across the street as we required parking. Nice building. Clean room. Good breakfast. Metro station nearby - 3 stations to city center. Shuttle to and from city centre every evening.

The hotel was located in a dodgy location with no access to supermarkets or decent food shops. The room aircon didn't work and it was an uncomfortable nights sleep. The receptionist was very lovely and helpful and provided us with heaps of information about Naples (for which we were very thankful)

Great value very helpful staff.

The hotel itself was way above our expectations for the price we paid. When on a city break you need a good base and this was it. The only down side is it's location in a poor area of Naples but they cannot help that. 5 min walk to the main station, the metro or the circumvesuvio stations all strangley in different directions . The restaurant is a bit over priced and a lack of choice.

the worst hotel that I experienced

The hotel should be a 2 stars instead of 3 stars that was advertised in the website. They didn't have soap and shampoo for the guests. The hotel location is very bad and very scary to walk around.

Hotel is well maintened,unfortunately the building ins not well located, the around city is not nice, it looks like a dangerous place where you have to stay in your room before dark,,,you cant walk aroud this place,,, to scared...

Hole in the wall terrible city

So unhappy with this city and hotel. Large group very noisy and inconsiderate to others after midnight. Restaurant is at next hotel. Every around here is closed early. Hookers across the street and lots of graffiti everywhere. Rooms are tight fitting. Pictures are wide angle. Quite a walk to the metro and not recommended at night.

Wonderful Hotel...in a not so nice city. Naples has got to be the dirtiest city I've ever been. The Country and city should be ashamed to allow such garbage/junk everywhere.

Great for onward travel

Nice hotel.. good breakfast, friendly staff. Plenty of secure parking
Used it to stay closer to airport.
Sadly the local area is very run down and doesn't feel safe.

Napoli- some great! & some okay.

Front desk staff were fantastic! Very helpful and friendly!! The room was not quite what we expected- very small and definitely not the room advertised and pictured on the web. Location- distance and convenience to sites also a bit of a problem, and took time to negotiate.

Good business hotel in very rough neighbourhood

The hotel looked pretty grim but we were immediately upgraded to their more modern sister hotel next door. Got the impression they do that automatically with most visitors. Good quality business hotel but in very poor location. Definitely a rough area. Wouldn't have stayed there if we'd realised.

Hotel Tiempo upgraded us to Hotel Magri.

Hotel Magri was very nice, the room with private bath was very good. The room had a mini fridge, a color TV with a couple of English speaking news channels and a queen bed. The bed was ok but the mattress was hard. Room was nicely furnished and decorated. The breakfast buffet was great with eggs, lots of pastries, fruits, juices, coffee, etc.
