The castle was beautiful, room much bigger than the pics suggest, the bed itself was really comfy, and probably the biggest TV I’ve ever seen in a hotel room. Good choice and service in the bar/restaurant. Nice thought put into the vegan options too which was the main reason we chose here over nearby castles, and why I’ve still given 5 stars. Only downsides was the breakfast did trigger the Mrs’ intolerance to Quorn, (not a well known allergen but I’d just suggest to state on the menu if Quorn is used) and also there was a connecting door to the next room hidden behind the wardrobe, which meant we could hear every noise from the neighbouring bathroom. Thankfully next door weren’t too noisy

Really lovely place to stay, we spent 3 nights here. Ideal location for trips around the North Yorkshire and Durham Dales. Great breakfast and evening meals - we ate there every night.

Beautiful building and surroundings with interesting explanation of the history. Our room was OK but I wished we had spent the extra money to stay in the castle itself as in the annexe we could have been in any anonymous hotel rather than in a historic monument. It was clean and we had no issues. The service in. the restaurant was good and breakfast was excellent. We would definitely stay again but upgrade to the main castle

My sister and I have stayed twice on our yearly pilgrimage from the south to visit our roots. We love the situation and genuine care and friendliness of the staff. Just a couple of points about our last visit. The twin room in the annex(7) was very dark which was accentuated by the sombre decor. The towels were rather thick and didn't seem to dry us efficiently! However , our first visit(governess's room) was much more pleasant and welcoming.
I'm sure we'll be back. Appreciated the free bottles of water on our leaving on a very hot day. A big thank you to all the staff and hope that ?Adrian who looked after us at breakfast will still be there.

Walworth Hall is a great hotel set in a castle! Everything was perfect .... well almost! We had booked a suite, which was everything we wished for except it was on the top floor! There are no lifts and so our room was only accessible by climbing the stairs. As we are both over the age of 80, this was pretty tiring! Fortunately we were only staying one night. I would definitely recommend the hotel as an amazing place to stay but if we stay there again, we would request a room on a lower floor!

The setting is absolutely stunning. We stayed in the Hansard Suite and this was a great size, the sofa is super comfy and the 4 poster bed is very comfortable. The restaurant food was outstanding and we cannot give enough praise to Ashley the restaurant manager and the young man on front of house reception who made our experience so exquisite.

We stayed in a standard room which was very small ,mattress was substandard and the bathroom appears to have been housed in a cupboard the shower provided a poor level of pressure and it went from hot to nearly scalding myself.

Our first impressions were amazing and the staff were all lovely and friendly. Check in was a little slow, as a call came in as we were about to check in. Lovely welcoming atmosphere and the lounge was a welcome area to relax. The food was amazing and the staff were attentive. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the only (slight problem) was a double bed instead of a king size. Although neither of us are disabled we both have mobility issues at the moment, we requested a room on the ground floor which was not a problem. Booked a night away for my girlfriend's 40th birthday. We had an amazing time. The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Abigail on reception and Ashleigh in the restaurant. The castle room was really comfortable and we will certainly be returning. The food was exceptional too. It really was the perfect little getaway that we needed.
