Excellent hotel in the heart of Sofia. Great breakfast, spotless when it comes to hygiene and cleanliness, walking distance to NDK and a stone throw to Vitoshka street and last but not least- very safe neighbourhood. Beds are confi so are the pillows.

The property is nice and check in was very smooth and the lady helped us with all the details and suggested very good local options for food. Break fast was fantastic and room was great.The check out experience was not great. The person in charge asked us whether we had anything from minibar and we said \"No\". He stopped us going to catch our flight to airport till some one checked our room and confirmed back that we indeed did not eat anything from mini bar. Really felt offended on this from the staff behaviour.

Perfect for what we needed and for what we paid! Room was a good size, shower was lovely and hot!
Breakfast was spot on and plentiful! Close to Vitosha Street and walkable for all sights!
Note: Visit Vitosha Mountain if you can - Take the metro to Vitosha and then catch the 66 Bus to the very end, beautiful view of the city!

Excellent location if you like walking and exploring the city. A few blocks from Lidl supermarket. Many restaurants and stores nearby. We found a cafeteria near Lidl supermarket and you will see the big Cathedral if you keep walking on the street where Lidl is located. Reasonable price with free breakfast. Breakfast is good. AC is too loud, I turned it off at night and opened the window for a nice cool breeze.

The best thing is the location of the hotel. Just a few steps from Vitosha Avenue with restaurants, shops and everything a tourist is looking for. What bothered me was that on the first day I got the room that, according to the hotel system, is defined as new and superior, but in fact it was really different from what appears in the pictures. Because the hotel was fully booked, only the next day they gave me a room that matched the description on the website. There is no doubt that it is very unpleasant. But in any case a few good words to the staff who tried to take care and were kind. Breakfast is ok. Had I received the room I booked from the beginning, I would have highly recommended the hotel, but just not room 202 anyway.

Our overall stay was very good. The property is right at the footsteps of all major attractions. Very much walkable and have a 10 minutes walk for metro direct to Sofia Airport. We stayed in suit which was spacious, and very well organised with a small kitchen space. Enough room to sleep and have comfortable lounge and a balcony as well. The Aircon was absolutely working fine and have additional fans provided in case needed.

Breakfast was amazing and delicious with everything for everyone. The staff also prepared for us breakfast bags on the day we were leaving at 6am for a tour.

Did not honour the booking

On the day I was supposed to stay at the hotel, I got a call from someone from the hotel to tell me that due to a 'technical problem' they will not be able to honour the booking. Later I found out that this was because they were sold out.
The booking was paid at Hotels.com so now I am waiting for the refund but it is taking a while as Hotels.com say they are waiting for the hotel to confirm.
When I got told by the hotel that I can't stay there, they said that they will immediately let the platform know so the money can be refunded, yet, they have not done so yet.
I had to stay at a different hotel that night and pay there.
I am not happy with the experience and would like my refund please.

The location is excellent to walk around the downtown. Breakfast is good. The only thing I would improve is the shower, is hard to not spread the water on the bathroom floor while taking a shower 😰, and I saw a few bugs around the bathroom drain 😬 That will need some attention. Otherwise than that, very nice for a few nights

It must have ticked all the boxes to get an official four star rating, but it fell short of my expectations of a four star hotel. The bedrooms and (especially) the bath (sorry, shower) rooms were too small for comfort, the shower rooms and the bedrooms lack convenient shelving/cupboard space and the beds and bed linen were adequate but not four star standard. Yes, it was clean, well managed and inexpensive, but it did not campare with (for exampkle) a Holiday Inn or other four star chain.

Bad Western Art Plaza Hotel\nSofia

The Art Plaza Hotel is very old and needs a major overhaul. The furniture is old, the upholstery is dirty. There is mold in the bathroom. Breakfast is monotonous: scrambled eggs, cheeses, bread, 3 types of juices, coffee and tea.

To start with , the location of the hotel was perfect, only a few meters from the main shopping / cafes and bars. The day time reception staff were Ok. there was a young reception lady who usually smile, which was nice. others were helpful but so miserable. Night time staff , were absolutely useless, they were more interested looking at their mobile phone rather anything else. The breakfast Staff were one of the glummest I have ever seen. That was about the staff. The breakfast was way below the standard quality -plenty of rubbish variety but low on quality. The decor and furniture of the hotel ( reception Breakfast room & guest rooms ) looked very dated, dark and tired. the bedroom was ok but again dark and dated. my biggest disappointment was the inconsistency of the room cleaning and maintenance. I have stayed in this hotel for 5 days , every day I get either different supply of toiletry or tea / coffee. sometime even they miss to supply. How difficult is to have a stranded routine check ? you tell me. One other thing about the room, the safe . - so complicated instruction < i ended up locking out twice until I gave up on it. For a famous hotel chain like Best Western , it is a total disappointment. Would I recommend this hotel to anyone? I don't think so.Sorry Best Western - you need to work much harder for your money.

When we arrived closed to midnight, the staff checked us in very quickly. The requested cot and crib for our kids had already been set up in the room with bedding and all so everyone was able to fall asleep almost immediately. Really appreciative of that!

Cleanliness of the hotel is very poor. The room also didnt look at all like it looked in the pictures. Bedsheets were wet, mattress was dirty, curtains wrinkled. AC was also not good. There was a lot dust in the room all the time. Hotel needs a maintenance. Have to mention that people working in the reception are very, very nice!

Clean but VERY tired hotel

The hotel was clean but the room was very worn, battered and in need of refurbishment.

I was \"upgraded\" to an apartment, but only because they didn't have the room type I booked. However this was a huge fail - the room has sky lights directly above the bed with totally ineffective blinds. If you're not kept awake by the light, there is machinery mounted externally on the roof near the windows which switched on and off throughout the night and is clearly heard within the room.

The rooms DO NOT have \"In-room climate control\" as advertised. The entire hotel was set to HEAT only... in MAY!! So if light and noise aren't enough to keep you awake, the stifling heat in the rooms will.

To top it off the shower leaked all over the floor from numerous points.

Complained to reception the first evening but they just didn't care and tried to fob me off till the next day, when again no one was bothered. The Hotel is definitely NOT up to usual Best Western standards.

Avoid this hotel. The property is in awful conditions. There is mould on the walls. It was very warm in the room i tried to explain in the front desk but they couldn't do anything because is controlled by the season. I had to move to a different hotel, the manager was nice. They didn't charge me for the cancellation.

Do not book this hotel

Hotel is very dayed, there was black mould up the wall by the wi dow. Curtains too small for window. Unable to control air-con and when asked if someone could look at it were just told no. Breakfast is a joke, cold food warm and hot food cold.

At this hotel you have to pay for parking witch means standing outside the hotel a waiting for traffic warden to come round although there's is a sign right outside the hotel witch says pay by phone but with an English number you can't pay and this hotel WON'T help you pay for ticket using the hotel phone . This hotel should really be more helpful with the parking

Very happy 10/10!

I stayed here for a week. Breakfast was included in the price, which was a bargain and was very good.

The room was clean, spacious well lit and modern with a nice minibar, kettle and complimentary tea and coffee. The WiFi was excellent as well.

Reception was top notch and the lady receptionist was one of the most friendly and accommodating I have ever met.

The location is very central, you are just off Sofia's main street.

I promise to come back and this time bring the wife along too!

The staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was clean and well appointed. The location of the hotel is excellent - smack in the downtown Sofia.
The only complaint I have is the internet service - it was spotty and the computer/printer in the lobby were out of service (wanted to print a boarding pass).

Incredible staff but uncomfortable

Very helpfull staff and very good location but some problems with our room - toilet lit falling by itself and touches your back all the time when you are doing your job. King bed in reallity has 2 single mattresses so you have a gap in the midle of the bed. We have huge problem with our reservation but the incredible staff fixed everything. So thanks for your efforts guys

The location is excellent. Just around the corner from probably the best street in Sofia. From there the city is walkable, if preferred or the Metro or Tram is not more than 20 meters away, and at around 80p per journey, on the Metro, is exceptional value for money. The Hotel is clean and comfortable. The receptionists were always helpful and pleasant and spoke good English.
