Some furnishings and surfaces in the room need to be updated (e.g., stained/old towels, scratched floors and walls). The shower doesn’t have an actual fixed shower head, just a handheld one which made showering really difficult. Rooms were noisy at night — even on a Monday night — you could hear talking and furniture moving and walking in the next room. My room was also by a service elevator which made the situation much worse. But the staff were so lovely and helped me as much as they could.

We stayed here for 4 nights. It was such a lovely hotel. So comfortable, large spacious room. And comfortable beds. It was cleaned daily. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Very professional. The location was brilliant, right in the city centre. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby as well as the main town centre. Everything is as walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is located in teh center of Sofia. The gym is ok, a little small for me, I felt a little claustrophobic. The sauna is good. The only ting I did not like - the car parking charges unexpected (20 euro per day), When I was booking the hotel there was no info about it.

Don’t stay there!!!
Bar closed from 11pm -12 noon. No room service after 9pm
Waiting staff sat at restaurant tables smoking right up until the second it opens at noon. And refused to let us in at 11.55 am because all 8 staff were sat smoking. Rooms badly need upgrading. Sanitary ware falling off the walls. Balcony was a trip hazard. We booked the hotel because of the rooftop bar. A week before we arrived they emailed to say it would be closed. Joke

Sense hotel Sofia, while its location is undeniably convenient—just a short walk from many of the city’s major attractions—the overall experience didn’t quite meet my expectations. The proximity to key sites made it easy to explore without needing transportation, which was a definite plus.

However, I was disappointed with the room and service standards. The room felt a bit outdated and lacked the comfort I was hoping for. Additionally, the service seemed somewhat inattentive, and certain requests took longer to fulfill than expected.

While the location is fantastic for tourists, I believe there’s room for improvement in terms of the hotel’s accommodation and service quality.

Weird impressions

It has been a weird experience. On one hand this is considered to be a unique-style hotel, but certain details were not to my taste. Positives: the breakfast room on the 9th floor - excellent views, ok food and service. The Jintu Asian restaurant on the ground floor - top notch. The pool and sauna area - ok, but the steam sauna was steamless. Negatives: my room was on the 1st floor among the conference rooms. Street view was nothing to enjoy. Door-type window blinds was the most strange thing I’ve ever seen. The shower door leaked water out onto the bathroom floor and I always had to use a big towel to collect it. The water pressure is simply to high. The most dissapointing was that the room didn’t look modern - had no USB pirts, chargibg stations and TV was difficult to manage with just a few programs really working. My conclusion - not worth its high price.

Very nice hotel but beware of houskeeping

Very cool adn cpmfortable boutique hotel in a an excellent downtown location. Amazing rooftoop restaurant and bar with some of teh best views in town and an excellent cusine. I would have given the full marks for service except for teh fact that once again a cleaning lady from housekeeping stormed into teh room catching me in my birthday suit, seems to be a common theam in many hotels.

Beautiful hotel, great area, service needs work

This hotel was a great value because it was beautiful and in a great location. My room was huge and luxurious. Breakfast was really good if relatively limited choices. My only complaint was the service. They were pleasant at check-in, but they gave me a room on the 8th floor. When I mentioned that all the reviews said not to get a room on an upper floor because the noise from the rooftop bar, they accommodated me, but identified me as “noise-sensitive”. Bigger problem was that reception said I would not need a reservation for the rooftop bar after 11:00 PM (which admittedly I though was odd for a Saturday night if it was such a local hotspot). So I went to dinner, and when I came back around midnight, I went up to the bar and it was heaving, of course. The hostess was borderline rude, and had me sit at a table outside of the main bar area. After waiting for 10 minutes with no further attention, I went back up to the hostess station and asked if I could order a drink, and she begrudgingly took my order and then delivered the drink a couple minutes later. As I was finishing my cocktail and getting ready to leave, she came up and told me they had a place at the bar for me and when I declined, she seemed a little annoyed with me. Check out was also a little clunky, because even with a deposit on file, which more than covered my charges, they ran another charge on my credit card, which made me a little uneasy and honestly, the explanation was not very clear.

Staff is great and are willing to help. The hotel is located in a perfect location overlooking great sights and close to everything. However, be prepared to hear loud music until midnight since the bar is on the top floor. We were in a suite and could not sleep until they closed the bar. Additionally, the pool is only available for one hour a day for kids under 14. Not a family hotel.

An excellent hotel. Definitely 5 star service. Great room with a balcony in a central location. Food was good and cocktails were excellent in the ground floor restaurant. The rooftop bar had a lovely view, book ahead for a table as it was full most nights in our stay.

Fantastic location, facilities and feeling

Only a short walk from the Metro station (from airport) this hotel is set in a superb location overlooking the cathedral. I had the warmest of welcomes by the bell boy and reception staff (deposit for extras paid on arrival), check in was quick and key card operates the elevator.
The hall ways smell of fresh carpet, the room is very modern by design and extremely clean, maintained this way all week by the very friendly and attentive staff. Lots of information about services, great mini bar and seamless WIFI.
The Spa Facilities at the hotel are epic, a true escape from the day to day grind with pool, hot tub, cool tub, sauna and steam room. Spa staff are fantastic, treatments are incredible and cost effective.
Rooftop bar is also amazing during the evening, for food and working during the day.
One of the best hotels I have stayed at and I would recommend to anybody visiting the city.

Fabulous room but sadly no smoking ban

Hotel room and facilities were fabulous and I would 100% recommend the location, amenities and the spa facilities. The rooftop bar is fabulous but sadly Bulgaria doesn’t have a smoking ban so you are enclosed in a bar and restaurant area with smoke which is not what you expect from a five star experience anywhere else in the world. The breakfast is great and the staff are friendly. The spa was lovely too but I had a bad experience with the facial. I will write to the hotel separately about this but those are honestly the only issues I had. I would definitely stay again and would recommend that friends and family do there were just these two issues both of which I’m sure can be fixed- one when Bulgaria catches up with the rest of Europe on the smoking laws (I have no issue if people want to smoke- completely your choice but I don’t want to come away from a nice restaurant or bar stinking of smoke) and one was personal issues with the spa treatment and I didn’t let either ruin a wonderful stay.

This is one of the best Hotels I have ever stayed in. It is better than most 4 **** in Las Vegas. It is a huge bang for your buck and the staff are supreme! You have a grand view of the Cathedral every morning for breakfast and is centrally located to all the sights especially the Roman ruins and shopping. The restaurant is bar none a top shelf menu! Seemed to be a popular night spot too for patrons and locals.

Fantastic stay

A fantastic hotel in an amazing location. It only takes around half an hour to get here from the airport using the Metro and then the short walk from the station. The facilities are very good and the staff are even better. From here the main sights of Sofia are all a short and easy walk to get to.

I came with high expectations hearing only good things about the hotel. But it was only OK. Average. Room was small, no extra amentities, not very comfortable wooden floor, breakfast was average.

Wonderful Hotel in the heart of Sofia

The hotel was wonderful clean and the service was fantastic at breakfast. When we ate on the roof top in the evening the waiter forgot to bring our appetizer? We did ask him about it and he said oh I am so sorry.. please forgive me it was fine the other person was only eating the appetizer but I had more than enough for my dinner so we just shared my order but when we got the bill the appetizer was on it... UGH
They removed it. We had room service as well and that was excellent and used the spa services which were also a great value and excellent quality. It would have been nice to have our little one at the pool but you had to be 14 to go to the pool or spa. The bath tub was very large so our 20 month old enjoyed playing it the tub.

Excellent hotel in a very centrally located part of the city. Stylish property with a great roof top bar with a terrific view of the city. My only complaint about the rooftop is how many people smoke up there. Very good breakfast served on the rooftop also. Hotel staff are pleasant and helpful.

My room at the Sense hotel was just awesome - floor to ceiling windows with a beautiful view of the cathedral that is Iit up at night. Great room layout - the bed faces the window and behind the bed is a desk. Nice lighting control in the wall controls room lights. Nice sized tv. Nice bathtub with separate shower stall with rain shower head and a hand shower. Only one tiny complaint that the tub was a bit too deep for me being only 5 foot 3. The 9th floor bar/restaurant was wonderful. Had a great shrimp appetizer and sat at a table overlooking the plaza. Hotel staff was absolutely great - helped me book a day trip and gave me advice on how to get a tram ticket, what sights were within walking distance, etc. The hotel is literally several blocks away from the cathedral, both buildings of the art museum, the ethnographic museum, the natural history museum, so I didn't need to taxi anywhere. The downtown area was beautiful - lots of green with tulip beds everywhere, just gorgeous.

I enjoyed the hotel property and the staff, i did not enjoy being charged for an extra person fee, because expedia overlooked me making a reservation for an adult and a child, indicated a double occupancy on the reservation and ignored my disoute afterwards.

Very nice hotel and I would stay again. I was on the 7th floor which was under the restaurant/bar and the room was very cold (August). the Airconditioning, although switched off, continued to pump cold air into the room sporadically. There was also clicking/cracking noises (as if metal/wood was expanding from the sun) every once in awhile. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. The spa/pool were FANTASTIC, staff were extremely helpful and the rooms were immaculate. Roof top bar WOW.

All good except that maybe non coffee drinkers, we drink tea, could be better served by providing fresh milk in the fridge.
A special mention for the doorman who due to road closures carried our two suitcases for approximately 500 metres, including down three flights of steps to catch our taxi.

Beautiful rooftop bar, and great spa

The Sense Hotel was very luxurious. All the amenities were top quality. The rooftop bar/breakfast area has an amazing view of the city. The spa/pool area was very nice as well. There is a hot tub, a cold bath, sauna, steam bath, pool, and shower. It was located near most of the main attractions of Sofia. The bedroom was very comfortable but felt a bit like an office.

Honestly - one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in! Incredible value for money! Please don’t get more expensive because your rates are amazing for the luxury you get! Also, your staff are so sweet! Especially the morning breakfast staff in particular the lovely tall lady Slyvaka or Slavika (sorry I can’t temember it now)! What a great overall stay! No option to contact housekeeping so I asked the front desk for extra towels, but they were never sent to the room.
After the room had been cleaned, i noticed that the wrappers of the stuff that had been consumed from the mini bar as well as the dirty coffee cups were still there. I asked the front desk to take care of it, they did not apologise; instead they asked what was my room number. After dinner i returned to the room and noticed that someone had removed the dirty cups, but not replaced them with clean ones, and the mini bar was not refilled. If I hadn't bought a bottle of water from somewhere else, I wouldn't even have water in the room (in a city where the tap water cannot be used). I called the front desk, again no apology, they just said it was too late to do anything and that it was a matter of 3 departments of the hotel to clean the room, clean and check the mini bar and replace the goods. I asked that the manager would call me the next morning at 9. Nobody called, so i called in the morning only to talk to a manager on call, because the General Manager was \"not available\". He apologised and sent over a platter of fruit.
When i reviewed the hotel (they sent me a survey via email), I received an apology from a front office manager. I requested a response from the General Manager, but again he was on a business trip...
Good, spacious rooms, , but No1 in a hotel experience is cleanness and politeness... Unfortunately, these guys need to work on those.
