Room properties were not enough. Very bad pillows, couldn't sleep well 2 night due to the very soft pillows and after we asked they couldn't serve better ones. No slippers, no toothbrush.. for evertthing you need to call and order.. not like other luxury Hiltons.
Location is perfect no problem and service was good, breakfast was satisfied.

I stayed day before in double tree by Hilton in plovdiv and they had espresso machine in room

The rooms are small and incredibly overpriced for a premium hotel in Sofia, yet missing some things such as bath robe, slippers, rain showers, heck the showers don't even have doors?!? They have a glass divider separating the shower from the sink spanning from the floor to ceiling but no door... which is weird. Also it turns out a deluxe room is only deluxe because it's located on level 6 and above in the building yet it is not different than a standard room in any meaningful way. The restaurant menu options are also incredibly limited and just as overpriced. When you are checking out, you have to remember to pay for parking separately because they don't include it in your room service bill. Last but not least I'm not a fan of the Croft & Barrow soap products they have in the rooms.

Everything is fine at Hilton Sofia, but just a bit far away from old town which takes around 30 min. walking distance.

The female receptionists are more friendly, the male receptionists are not that friendly. The guy in the morning of Oct.07 around 8am on the reception who helped to call a tax and the guy in the morning of Oc5.12 around 9:30am who helped to check out, both attitudes towards customers should be trained more, not friendly driven. That's why I couldn't give higher rate.

Didn’t like that only one elevator was working (I understand there is construction work going on, but keep 2 out of 3 elevators working, please). The Executive Lounge was rather poor, compared to other hotels, in terms of food and drinks.

Great location and comfort

Classic Hilton. No unpleasant surprises. The location is really superb cause it's a 5 minute to Ndk and 10 minute pleasant walk to vitosha pedestrian Street. Views were beautiful. We had the room with the park view. Sadly the lot next to the hotel is occupied by a car dealer and rather spoil the views, not hiltons fault though. Highly recommended.

Nice hotel which is close to city centre, shops and the sights of Sofia. Rooms very spacious and beds comfy. Only gripe was that the shower is not powerful which I would have expected from a 5* hotel. WIFI excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

I had great time visiting Sofia, especially, after 15 years after my graduation. The hotel members were very friendly and helpful. Also, there was an event going on in the lobby and there were a dozen of well dressed folks. My room had a panorama view and I really enjoyed it. I was able to see The Alexander Nevski Church and many government buildings . On the next day, I took advantage of the location and walked all the way to Sofia University, parlament, presidency, Vitosha bulevard, etc. I recommend the hotel for personal and business stay. Overall, from 1 to 5, I gave my 4.5.

thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel good. the only downside was that when we arrived there was a conference so all the lobby area was taken up with stands etc. and then on the Sunday there was a wedding and the lobby was full of drinks tables so there was nowhere to sit if you were waiting for transport etc. However, even though there was a conference and a wedding the hotel was very quiet and apart from the disruption in the lobby you would not have noticed. well done.

Excellent location, and clean, well maintained property. Very friendly and polite staff in every department. The morning breakfast is number one in quality with so much variety and excellent service provides a taste of local and international flair. Its central location near a park makes your stay enjoyable without any stress or effort on the part of the residents. The most important aspect is the friendliness of staff who are very fluent in English which is a plus point. The room rates are in the normal range for the excellent service one gets. Impressed by the promptness of response by staff to email questions/inquiries.

The experience is typical example of Bulgarian tradition and culture. For a first time visitor to the country we (wife and I)enjoyed our stay at the Hilton the most. We will not hesitate to visit Bulgaria again and stay at the Hilton.

we had a lovely time their, got excellent service, fabilous room.
i was disopointed from the pool, it was very small.
and the hotel location. in my opinion is not ideal, not in the center. bur we had a rented car, so it didn't bother us much.
and last thing' the opening sofa was o.k for little children but for elders it wouldn't fit.

It was our first hotel in Bulgaria and we were very glad we chose this hotel. It is conveniently located near downtown and the nearest metro is 5 minute walk. Taxi is always available in front of the hotel and the front staff was very helpful and answered all our questions including recommendable restos. They turned out it was delicious!!!

Deteriorating every time

I stay at this hotel every year for a few nights but noticed that with each year the hotel facilities and service have been deteriorating to the point that I would not call it a 5-star hotel anymore.
During my last visit two things tipped me to the point of deciding not to stay there anymore:
-internet
-air quality
Internet: When checking in the receptionist mentioned that I am a Hilton Honors member but did not tell me about the free wifi (for e-mail and browsing only). She gave me directions on what to do and where to go in order to pay for premium internet. I guess I should have been more proactive and should have read everything on the web site. But when you are tired from a long flight it's hard to think. And in the morning the staff had left a note under my door, saying that I owe 31 BGL for a room upgrade! When checking out they told me that there was a mistake and the bill was for internet but did not give me a corrected invoice, listing the internet price. So I ended up paying much more than the internet would have cost. However, since this was right before Christmas I did not want to get into an argument for a few euros so I paid the bill and decided that writing a review and warning my fellow travelers will be better.
Please read below for my comments on air quality.

This is a typical Hilton hotel

You can expect everything you would expect at any other Hilton hotel.
The location of this hotel is good, but not great – it is at the end of the city center zone. You can walk to the city center and you can also take the metro or taxi. Paid parking is available for 6 euro per day.
Our room was not clean – there was mold in the bathroom. For the same price (or cheaper) – you can find better hotel at better location.
I am originally from Bulgaria and stay often in Sofia. I would not recommend this hotel

Enjoyed a stopover at the Hilton before flight home after visiting family living in Bulgaria. Hotel is immaculate and staff are very accommodating. Spa facilities are good and restaurant was beautiful, well worth the money.

Pleasant hotel, well located, notwithstanding a few shortcomings: doesn't provide free water to guests, a common courtesy in this area and climate (come on guys, a 50cl mineral water bottle costs less than one dollar); also, Internet access charges are \"passé\" in these days and age.

The hotel is a bit faraway from the city, you can get there in a 20 minute walk. There is a nice park nearby, Starbuck, peatonal walk way.

It's all about location

I stay at the Hilton every year for a few nights when traveling to Sofia. I can clearly see that the hotel is getting old and worn out and a major renovation is due very soon. However, my stays at the hotel have been pleasant and worry-free every time, this is why I choose to return there. Internet and mini-bar are overpriced, but this is Hilton everywhere. Go to the mall behind the museum (located next to the hotel) and get your refreshments and food at the excellent grocery store in the basement. There is also a bank at the mall, open late, to exchange your money (bring a passport).

Excellent Hotel. Situated close enough to town centre for a stroll across the bridge, through park to city centre...about 10 mins. Staff were very friendly and welcoming for the duration of our stay. Beautiful yet handy

Luxurious rooms and very helpful, friendly staff. Lovely walk over pedestrian bridge takes you to the parks and walkways and all the great historical sites. We upgraded to executive fir 40 euros and not only got a great room but also huge breakfast buffet, wifi, and access to the drinks and food in Executive lounge. Deluxe.
