My Husband and I booked (child free ☺️) for our 10 year wedding anniversary and stayed Thursday-Sunday at Dorada Palace hotel, booked through Expedia - Bed and breakfast.
Slightly worried having seen reviews on this page after we had booked, however hotel and staff could not be faulted. So clean, very accommodating and breakfast had everything to offer, with 3 available time slots. We arrived early around 11:30qm and were allowed straight to our room even though check in was 3pm. Would definitely return.

I had reserved an apartment. First the staff gave us the key to a room that was occupied and someone was taking shower in! Then they gave us key to another apartment that to our surprise only had one double bed. The Expedia description was clearly saying the apartment we had reserved has a double bed and two twin beds but the manager insisted that they don’t have such apartments and Expedia description is just wrong! Apparently they didn’t care to fix that.
We had to downgrade and go to a normal room. When we went inside the room one of the towels was on the floor. Later we needed more towels and regardless of how many times we called the reception from our room no one responded. They had so many people checking in and didn’t have enough staff to handle that. I had to go to front desk twice and we finally got the towels after two hours.
I had been to many places over the years and this was one of the most horrible experiences.

Definitely recommend

The whole complex was very clean and everywhere looked newly decorated. Just the main pool could do with a bit of updating.
The staff were amazing, especially in the dining room, they were all friendly, polite and very helpful. The food was very good with plenty of choice for us vegetarians and vegans.
The position of the hotel was perfect, the free bus service to Port Aventura worked well and it was short stroll to the beach.

Bring back the Dorada we loved. No All inclusive!!

We have stayed at Dorada Palace five times and never had any complains just so much joy for all small things taken care of and now …I am so sad to say this was the last time. Do you have bright memoreries from before keep them and do not book until they have skipped the All inclusive concept and back to halt/full board!!!! All inclusive is now runnit this beautiful hotel! Dorada Palace was a real Palace before and we have it 10/10 and rekommenderar to friends but never again. Nice to see familiar staff but so sad to see them now working in an enviroment due to new owners. Every year my children could buy ice after swimming… nope No icecream due to that it may look bad when its not included in for those with All inclusive. If you like us pay for ber you also now get them in papermug to not stick out for the all-inclusive guests. With all inclusive you also get a not so friendly tone with parents who drink too much and this night we had one taken by the police after nasty fight with his wife.It has always been such a nice flexible and familyoriented feeling to this hotel but no more. Our autistic girl had such tough time to adjust to the timeslot booked for breakfast/dinner when we cuuriently heard 10 minutes left and she got stressed even before entering the dinner the rest of the trip. People filled with sadness and annoyed when they cant eat their meal properly. unnecessary rules and reprimands in the pool- No glasses,lenses and no swim under water. Skip the bus and go.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Dorada Palace and had a brilliant holiday. We arrived on the 1st day of opening and were unsure what to expect but didnt need to worry. Only half the hotel was open as the other half is still being renovated but all the facilities were open. Pool area is clean and a good size, plenty of sun loungers.

We were on B&B and enjoyed the breakfast...the choice increased as the hotel got busier. We only ate lunch from the pool bar once during our stay but the food was tasty. The service at the pool bar could be slow particularly when it was busy but put this down to the staff learning and wasnt an issue for us.

Rooms were clean. We did find them to be on the smaller side particularly when you had cases to store but no major problem.

The animation team were fantastic, really engaging and got as many kids involved in the day and night time activities as they could which was impressive as there weren't many kids there in the early part of the week. Also a shoutout to one of the female life guards (not sure on her name) who was brilliant with our kids and was really encouraging the younger one with his swimming. All the staff were friendly and apologetic if service was slower than they would like. As the hotel was new we expected some teething issues.

Hotel is in great location....10-15 minute walk to Port Aventura and 3-5 minute walk to nearest restaurants, bars and supermarket.

All in all we had a great time and would return

Nice hotel in a beautiful area

Our experience in this hotel was nice. It is located in a very pleasant area, close to the beach and shops. We enjoyed our walks in the evenings a lot. It felt friendly and lively. The hotel has a nice evening entertainment though we think that it starts a bit late, at 10 p.m. We wished it started earlier. The food was ok but the restaurant was very busy especially during the breakfast.

Great place for a family holiday. Staff were friendly and helpful everywhere. The food was beautiful, weĺl presented, varied, fresh - taken away and replaced regularly and well within recommended times. Yes, during school holidays the dining room was often full and quite noisy - but that's to be expected.
The pools are nice, but a bit on the small side at times when the hotel is almost fully occupied. The adults only rooftop pool, jacuzzi, etc is a really nice touch. There are lots of sun loungers and umbrellas crammed into the space around the main pool. The biggest problem was that many people put their towels on these sunbeds at 9am, but weren't there to use them until late afternoon. We desperately needed an umbrella ( because of skin problems) several times but they were often wedged between these sun beds that weren't used all day! This is a problem that I believe should be sorted by Dorada Palace management.
Bedrooms are nice, fresh and cleaned every day along with bed changes and clean towels.
Entertainment was sometimes good, sometimes hit and miss but the entertainment team put in a lot of effort day and night.
Bar prices weren't bad at all - a refreshing pint of Mahou was less than 3 euros!

Good value for a short stay.

We only stayed 1 night but the room was spacious and clean and the beds comfy. There were no tea facilities in the room however.
The staff were friendly and welcoming and the reception and dining areas were bright and well kept. The food at dinner and breakfast was poor in choice and not very hot but overall for the price we paid I was satisfied.

I'm conflicted.

The staff were amazing. The location was amazing; we used it to walk to Port Aventura.

The pool was extremely cold, and closed too early. The food in the restaurant was...ok? Breakfast was better than dinner. There was a huge variety, but not a lot of quality. The aircon was lackluster.

Why I couldn't stay again? The beds were rock solid, and extremely uncomfortable. We used spare duvets as mattress toppers, and it was still awful. I believe it definitely contributed to my backache I developed while there. I would love to visit again because the staff were so, so great, but I just can't sleep on those beds again.

Clean, good food, but noisy.

Having requested a room in a quieter part of the hotel, was disappointed to be given a room directly over the bar and outside seating area. The room, 261, also had a tiny corner balcony. We were unlucky as only a few rooms had these. Didn't want the hassle of asking to change after a long day travelling, and also there was a constant queue at reception! Road noise was also a big issue on the side overlooking the pool.
On the plus side the food was good even if it was chaotic and very noisy in the restaurant! Everywhere was clean and the bedding was good quality. No kettles in the room so take your own if you need one.

Fantastic holiday in Dorada Palace Hotel

Beautiful location, great food with loads of choices, great service and my whole family enjoyed the stay. Definitely going back again.
Would be nice though to give a new painting to the whole hotel building as existing paint looks worn out and exhausted. Some makeover will certainly bring back the vibrant look this hotel had 3 years ago when we visited it for the first time.

Bad experience - won't be coming back

I wonder if this is really a 4 stars hotel. I've been to far better 3 and even 2 stars.
Rudest staff I've ever met (incl. Managers). Restaurant staff being the worst. They would patronize you, take the half-full dishes off the table without asking or not taking them at all, bumping into you while running around without even looking back. Also had to save my kids from being ran over the dish trolleys. Again, staff couldn't care much.
Place is overall not that bad but staff (couple of exceptions at Reception) does a great job at making your stay unpleasant.
Air-con stopped working one day. Staff came around late, BS us for a while and left with the thing broken. Had to sleep with the windows open (26 degrees outside and just a small breeze so not comfortable). They eventually fixed it the following day after a second complain.
WiFi is allegedly free, however you are forced into they Facebook before visiting most websites.
They charge you a non-refundable 20 EUR to use the safe so had to carry our passports around.
Except the entrance hall the place is a bit run-down for a 4 stars and needs some maintenance.
The area is OK, however there is a fair walk (specially with kids) to the bus stop, beach and PortAventura.
It was expensive compared to other places we looked so overall VERY POOR VALUE FOR MONEY.
So won't be coming back to this place. Salou and PortAventura were great, though!

This is a good hotel, although it's not 4 star by British standards. Food was very good, a tad cool at times but it's a buffet so only to be expected. Rooms small and def hard going with a family of 4, did not realise how cramped it would be or would have booked a bigger room. Pools are very busy, don't open until 9am doesn't stop the que forming at 7.20am to put the towels down. Disappointed to be charged for an Iron and the safe, and 10€ deposit per towel, thought these were standard in hotels in 2017.
Overall good hotel but be careful of room size!

Hotel has no thought for guests comfort

Don't book this hotel if you want interconnecting rooms as they will do nothing to accommodate your request. My husband and I are currently staying with our 3 children in two separate rooms and the management have refused to move us so we can be together. Even when the people in the room next door, which did connect, left the hotel. They don't care if you enjoy your stay they just want your money and I paid quite a bit for two rooms . The staff at reception and the manager are rude and unhelpful and the other staff are just unfriendly they don't smile or be pleasant. The hotel is also very noisy especially if you have a room overlooking the pool. You will not get any sleep and the hotel staff will not move residents inside until after 1am. So if you are unfortunate enough to be over the bar you will have difficulty sleeping. Not an enjoyable holiday for us and will not be back.

Be warned limited availability of twin rooms

Your website and Dorada palace website advertise Double / twin rooms but they do not state that there is limited availability of twin rooms. If we had known this at time of booking we certainly wouldn't have booked this hotel. The hotel have told us everyday that they will try and give us a twin room tomorrow and so far that is not the case. We need 2 single beds as our sleeping conditions are not ideal. They have twin rooms available for arriving guests but not us. We booked this hotel in January. Also they advertise a tub / shower combo but not all rooms have this facility. We are more than disappointed at the service or lack of service from your representatives. Now they have told us to deal with the hotel directly as they have done all they can on our behalf. I find this hard to understand as we made 6 phonecalls approximately 3 hours of calls and none of your representatives called us back. Hotel.com surely you can do better than this.

Stayed here after a fab 8-night med cruise. Was not expecting too much but was pleasantly surprised. Great control of earlier sunbed stealers. Great food. Entertainment about average for this type of hotel. One pain was having to pay for drinks as you had them rather than book to room and pay once at the end of your stay. Not much of a gripe. Had a great time.

Back to the 80s

Nice hotel, relatively close to the beach and Port Aventura
Decor would need upgrading - feels like a new 80s hotel - but everything is in perfect condition (exterior would benefit of a fresh coat of paint)
Really good buffet for both dinner and breakfast - restaurant feels a bit as a school canteen due to the amount of guests, but food keeps constantly refreshed, tables are constantly cleaned and there's always a waiter in hand - great food, only don't expect to have a nice intimate dinner
Do ask for a room at the front of the hotel, entertainment on the pool side goes on up to midnight and all the rooms with a balcony facing the pool will get the noise, and believe me it's loud!

GREAT HOTEL FOR TRIP TO SALOU!

We had a great stay in October 2015 for a week. The rooms were well laid out, and had good facilities including a fridge and hairdryer. We had our 2 kids in the room and the hotel had made up nice sofa beds for them in the same room. The buffet breakfast and dinner were great - breakfast got a bit samey but there was always a big selection of fish, meat, and pasta dishes as well as a grill area where food was cooked to request. And way too much dessert choice! Only downside was the pool - it was lovely, but freezing cold, so we didn't use it after we attempted a swim on the first day/ Weather was good, and we had a couple of days at Port Aventura, which is in walking distance. Buying drinks from the bar was pricey, but they did offer decent evening entertainment. And the staff were very helpful, and most things like beach towels were provided with a deposit which they returned once you returned them to reception. We would go back.

Hotel staff great and helpful.My children loved Mini Disco but entertainment for children was bit to short. Overall I can recommend this hotel to everyone.

Nice location, spotless hotel

We had a love 9 night stay in April 2015. The check in took almost an hour !! There seemed to be extra staff behind the counter doing other things instead of looking after the queue of people trying to check in - not a good first impression.
The hotel room was spotless and cleaning staff were exceptional. We had booked half board, breakfast was really nice, lots of variety and many healthy options. Dinner was nice but often the food needed to be hotter (There is a microwave and we used it every day)
Lots of evening entertainment - all aimed at children !
All in all very enjoyable stay, nice swimming pool and surrounds

Food was very average although there was certainly plenty of it at the buffet - could be a bit of a scrum at times. The hotel wont let you charge drinks against the room and you are charged a deposit for the TV remote and safe key - I felt like a cash machine rather than a guest at times. Its a family hotel so if you are a couple looking for a quieter time this isn't for you. Room was adequate and nothing spectacular - we did have a massive balcony as we were a corner room which was lovely in the mornings and evenings. Location is very convenient for Salou and PortAventura.

The rooms felt cramped for a family of 4 and we had to ring down to get blankets and sheets needed to make up the kids beds ourselves. Food was good and there was always plenty of it, but it was a shame that full board did not include a coffee at lunch/dinner. The facilities were a bit poor, the internet did not work and when I asked to use it, I couldn't and was asked instead did I not have internet on my phone. The pool tables cost 2euros per game which was TOO expensive, and rarely in use (most likely because of the cost). The pool area was good, clean, and there was always a lounger available.

I wonder how this hotel received four stars

For me, this hotel deserves for a maximum 3 stars. The advantages of this hotel is to have a good location and good price for the room. I do not know why a hotel with four stars can charge for a TV remote control (20euro deposit!), Towel 10 euros, key for safe etc., for me, it is strange .Very poor breakfast, WI-FI works only in the lobby and restaurant. Medium-sized room, and probably the smallest in the world pillows, Not very comfortable.Hotel is good just for a few days to explore the area, amusement park.,But for a longest vacation I do not recommend.

There was a problem when checking in, not sure what it was but it took a good 15-20 mins to get checked in. We were there at Easter and were half board, the dining room was extremely busy with queues at peak times, as there was only one person checking in and dealing with payments of guests.

Thought it was disappointing that a 4* hotel should charge for the safe and also a deposit for the TV remote control.

Overall a nice hotel, nice pools and a good location, 10 mins walk to the front, 15 mins to theme park and nice and quiet (some hotels in Salou are very near late discos).

Nous sommes arrivés a Salou par le train. Noys avons marché 15 mn pour accéder a l'hôtel 1er bon point
L'établissement se trouve a 10mn de marche a pied du centre de Salou et de la plage 2eme bon point
PortAdventura se trouve a 15 mn a pied de l'hôtel et il y a même une navette disponible le matin
3ème bon point l'excellent accueil et la sympathie du personnel. Le buffet du dîner et du petit-déjeuner sont vraiment intéressants.

El buffet de cena/comida se queda un poco pobre por variedad de platos y calidad de la comida. Sobre todo postres casi no ponen. Hace unos años tenia mejor relacción calidad-precio.

Poca variedad en el buffet. El personal anda corriendo por el comedor de un lado a otro con los carros de platos y al reponer la comida no dejan pasar a los clientes para que sigan sirviéndose. La barra del buffet se queda pequeña para la capacidad de clientes del comedor.

Essen war sehr gut, lecker nur. Die frisch gegrillten Fleischgerichte waren ab und zu leider roh oder verbrannt. Vom Entrecote lieber die Finger lassen, es ist nämlich keins. . Aber der Saal sehr laut und die Klimaanlage ist übertrieben, damit die Gäste früh abhauen wahrscheinlich. Nervig war auch das Geschirr sammeln der Mitarbeiterinnen, die das ganze extrem laut machen sogar provozieren auch eine Taktik die Gäste früh herauszubekommen.

Ansonsten sauberes Hotel. Aber man will Umsatz um jeden Preis, Pool zu klein. Liegen 20 Sekunden nach der Öffnung besetzt mit einem Handtuch bis zur Schließung.

Finger weg von den Tourangeboten. Im Internet teilweise zum halben Preis.

Getränke auch bei Vollpension nicht dabei und auch noch zu teuer.

Animation tagsüber schlecht. Kein Platz dafür. Abends aber unterhaltsam für Erwachsene, weil Externe Entertainer kommen.

Fazit: Preis Leistung ok wenn man mit entsprechenden Ansprüchen anreist.

Mjög fínt fjölskyldu hótel

Herbergin voru hrein, öflug herbergisþjónusta. Mjög fínn hótelgarður, það var gott að fá bekki því ólíkt öðrum hótelum þá var ekki opnað út fyrr en klukkan 09:00 til þess að koma í veg fyrir að fólk tæki frá bekki um miðjar nætur. Ekkert spes internet en það var samt hægt að horfa á Netflix.
Góður morgunmatur, en hádegis og kvöldmatur var ekkert spes.

Sejour agréable hôtel bien placé ,pas loin du centre mais en retrait pour ne pas avoir l'effervescence de la rue circulation et nuisance sonore de la rue ,par contre si vous ne voulez pas être gêné par l'animation de l'hôtel le soir demandez une chambre sans vu sur la piscine, service près du client,attentionné, confort et propreté impeccable,seul bémol climatisation un peu bruillante,nous étions venus rejoindre nos enfants et petits enfants qui étaient en location à SALOU l'hôtel est arrangeant nous avons pu les accueillir avec nous à la piscine et aux repas moyennant un supplément ce qui est normal .
Bon séjour dans l'ensemble.
Je reviendrais si cela se presente

Ik vond de lokatie prima we hadden daar een invalidekamer met een inloopdouche en een groot balkon, ook de kamer was wel ruim. Elke dag werd de kamer schoon gemaakt.

Nous avons passés 5 nuits en juin dans une chambre standard pour 4 personnes (2 adultes, 2 enfants).
À 105€ la nuit en demi pension, je comprends que la chambre soit un peu petite pour 4 (juste la place des 4 lits, bonne literie), que le buffet du matin (jus d’orange industriel) et du soir soit tout juste correct, et que la piscine donne sur la route... A un prix aussi bas, c’est tout à fait acceptable.
Par contre, eau de la douche à peine tiède le soir (heure de pointe??), accueil très inconstant à la réception, pas de ménage un jour (sans excuse lors du signalement!), c’est pas digne d’un 4 étoiles!
Sinon, bon emplacement (à pied, 8 min de la plage, 20 min de Port Aventura), jolie piscine, animateurs sympathiques et investis.
Ensemble correct pour le prix.
