We would stay here again. We would not book another room over looking the pool, I thought it would be cool especially if we went swimming to be able to come right out our room and go to the pool. Boy was it loud! People's voices echo lol. But the staff and hotel was great, we will be back this year!

The toilet ran the whole time we were there. The bed was very uncomfortable. Both of our backs hurt each night we were there. Mine was so bad the second night I slept sitting up in the hair verses laying down. None of the extra locks on our door worked. The breakfast was pretty much empty and what was there was very dried out our first morning there. I understand it was “off season” and there weren’t many people there, but they should still keep the food fresh for those of us there. I think during off season, or when there aren’t any people there breakfast shouldn’t be 7-10, it should be less hours so the food can be kept fresh. We ended up going out and having to spend more money that I wasn’t planning on spending since one of the reasons I picked this hotel was because of the breakfast included.

I had booked a stay at the Eisenhower Hotel & Conference Center. I booked a room with a balcony overlooking the pool. However, when I arrived, I was informed that the Eisenhower Hotel was basically closed and guests would be staying at the connected Aspire Hotel. I specifically chose this hotel for the balcony/pool. The Eisenhower Hotel should not be taking reservations if it is not operating this time of year (weekend of Nov 22nd).

The staff was excellent, especially in the gift shop deli. The room and bathroom were clean. The beds are on the firm side. The breakfast was just shy of amazing! I definitely recommend staying here if you like a great breakfast and firm beds.

Not what I expected at all. The entire hotel smelled like weed and mildew. They put both of our rooms on opposite sides of the hotel. We asked to switch the one room because the smell was horrendous. They moved that room across from my other room so unsure why that couldn’t have been done in the first place. Also the hotel doesn’t look anything like the photos online. I tripped on the carpets they are all lifting up. My kids were upset I wouldn’t let them in the pool because the hotel overall didn’t feel clean.

The bed was horrible!!! The bed had springs in it that you could hear when you sat on the bed not to mention you could feel them when lying down in bed. I have never heard a bed like this even when I was a kid. Very uncomfortable, especially for someone who has had back surgery. When I or my husband would roll over it disrupted the other person's sleep.

In town for the weekend. Hotel has signs of its former glory. Seems that they have tried to do cheap updates. Plank floors in the rooms, new paint. Could use a complete overhaul and it would be a great destination. Walls are very thin. You can hear every word of your neighbors.

Check in counter attendant didnt seem like she wanted to be there. Check in was fast and efficient, but there was no warmth of personality.

Decor needs updated and over all, the hotel feels rundown.

Door lock was extremely difficult to engage and had to be pounded shut as it was a slide lock and not the typical hotel door lock.

We have stayed in about 8 different hotels so far this year and this is the only poor review I've given.

The property is in a good location if you are looking to poke around the historical battle fields, a little out of the way from Gettysburg, but great location for the battlefields if that's what you're looking for. The property seems to be going under a major renovation. Some parts were in great shape, some parts needed a little work. Everyone on the staff I interacted with were VERY friendly and Accommodating . Breakfast was decent but it was the same every day I was there. All that said, I would stay here again.

Talk about trashy! Carpet updated and installed poorly. Access panels to bathrooms from hallway crappy drywall. “Children of the corn” vibe. Wood rot, crappy shingles/roof outside showing little to no care for the building itself. Came in at night, asked for water at front desk for medications - lady told me to drink from the drinking fountain (normally a bottle water is offered in other hotels). Layout is confusing. Shower head wasn’t clean and clogged with minerals. Bedroom was ghetto 90’s old wood vibe. Bathroom small with plastic cheap seats. Every shortcut one can make was made. Will never walk in there again!

This is the third time that we have stayed at this property. It is quiet and clean, but it could use a little TLC in some places. It appears that the property owner has been gradually working on this.

The hot breakfast is always hot and well-stocked. The only issue that we had was with the Wi-Fi this time that we stayed. After several attempts at trying to get it working the front desk clerk offered to move us to another room. We had no Wi-Fi issues after changing rooms.

One note told us to call aniyher jotel for check in, anoyjer informed us the restaurant was not serving for the week. It was literally a shell with no one home. Don't misinterpret my review.
This hotel is clean and comfortable but OLD, which means the doors creak, the carpet is wrinkled and sometimes you get an smell like a really old place. We were unlucky because the interstate exit was closed so we had to drive 5 additional miles between woods that seemed like it was a really far away hotel. Also the first day we noticed a Bat in the stairs I reported it to management but when I checked out the bat still there. I did not use those stairs because I was afraid. Breakfast was good enough (eggs, sausages, waffles, cereal, coffee and juice). Check in and check out really easy to do.

Our stay was for only one night. The hotel was not full, but our room was a distance away from the front. There was a lot of turn in the halls, with no signage to get to the elevator/front desk as the elevator was not seen and behind doors. Also, our TV remote did not work and had to have help come and look into it. The ac in the halls was not working, and was very hot this weekend. Breakfast was very limited and overcooked eggs and sausage was over cooked on the outside and not done well on the inside. Overall the hotel was old and tired looking from the outside as well as the areas past the front reception area.

Worse resort stay ever

Would not recommend this hotel. Online pictures are deceptive, they don't reflect the actual hotel. The staff was running between the Aspire Hotel and this hotel and the desk was not staffed. Had to go next door to check out. The building was run down. Needs maintenance and updating. The hvac did not work properly. It appears it's all family members working at this hotel providing minimum accommodations to customers. The breakfast was unappealing. For $174/night vs $129 at the aspire, it seems expensive as there really were no amenities/resort features. Back of the bldg had appearance of being built in 1950s wood rot and caulking holding it together. Parking lots unmaintained w/grass, potential slipping hazard. Sidewalk had broken eggs on it w/flies the entire stay. Will never stay at this hotel again and recommend no one stay there.

Stayed in 2 adjoining poolside rooms and the kids loved it! The room was very clean and the AC was awesome. Beds were comfortable and the included breakfast would have cost out family of 6 almost as much as one of the rooms if we went out for breakfast. It was hot and fresh and very good.
There are upgrades going on, but if you don't mind the look of progress, it won't impact your stay in the least.

Not at all what I expected

Im really not happy giving a place a poor rating, but I expected much more from what listed as a “Conference Center”. Didn’t realize that there were 2 hotels physically linked together. Went to the wrong side 1st and the desk person there was friendly and helpful…. Not so much when we went to correct hotel desk. Not at all friendly or helpful to my wife.
When the we got to the side door near our room, the damp musty smell was overwhelming!!!
The hallway carpeting was literally coming and rolled in places. Made walking hazardous!
THe door to our room was stuck, probably due to the humidity. Literally had to kick it open.
The shower had not rails or anything to hold on too. I’m sorta handicapped and used a cane and sometimes a walker. But other hotels all have handles in the shower…. This had nothing. I was so afraid of slipping.
Bathroom was small had not enough room for 2 people to place their stuff
And not enough plugs!!! I travel with 3 items that need to be charged, my wife has 1 and her CPAP. Luckily I travel with an ext cord with 3 plugs at the end.
Breakfast was OK except my piece of fruit looked OK on the outside, but the inside was brown.

We got to our room and found the adjoining door did not close and therefore did not lock. That room was occupied so we pushed a table against the door for the night. When I tried to shower and dress the next morning, I discovered the knob for the shower was gone and therefore the shower could not be used. I tried to call the front desk but the phone didn’t work. When we checked out, I told the desk person all of this. She told me she couldn’t do anything since I booked third party. I contacted Expedia right away and they called the hotel who authorized a $30 refund. That is unacceptable considering the condition of our room. It should have been a full refund!

We have stayed at a lot less expensive hotels that were much cleaner and well kept. For $160 we should not have found an empty toilet paper roll on the bathroom floor or crumbs under the nightstand. The outside of the property needs attention, bushes need trimmed back away from the sidewalk and the parking lot is long overdue for a paving. The bartender on duty was not welcoming and it seemed as though she was annoyed having to work. I will probably choose another hotel next time we go Gettysburg.

I stay here at least once a year. THE MOST COMFORTABLE MATTRESSES EVER! my sleep is extremely important to me as I have a bad back. Rooms are very clean. I had to book this hotel last minute due thunderstorms and our original plans to camp. I looked at the photos and decided to book as it looked nice and updated. However, when we arrived it looked nothing like the photos. Honestly it was very oddly decorated. The lobby was beautiful, that I will say. The carpet throughout the hotel didn't match, the pattern looks like it belongs in an arcade and was lumpy. The hallway smelled strongly of curry, there were slot machines in the main hallway by the breakfast area, you could see outline of the old lighting fixures behind the new lighting fixtures, there were banquet tables and chairs in the pool area mixed in with proper pool seating, the sky windows above the pool were boarded up, you had to pay for coffee in the lobby, there was ONE wire hanger in our closet, the wallpaperwall art in the hallway had been peeled off. I think the people who own/work at the hotel live there, I took my son swimming at the pool area the front desk clerk who renewed our key cards walked from the front desk to a large group of people and hung out with them as if he knew them really well. One of them went to grab a giant indistrial fan and brought it back to the area along with an extension cord. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, and the hotel was really close to Gettysburg, but I wouldn't stay again. This is why I don't stay at non branded hotels, but it was my fault for not reading the other reviews thoroughly.

Lacking in certain areas, but safe and quiet

There were five of us, a team down in Gettysburg for a reunion of like minded teams. The Eisenhower was a stones throw from the battlefield entrance- excellent. It was only a few minutes away from the lodge were our dinner held- excellent. We were close enough to town to do the night tours without a long drive away from the noise of downtown- excellent. Location excellent. Beds were super comfortable and the water pressure and heat for showers excellent. Condition- needs updating. The pool doesn't have safe access for individuals with walking disabilities. Once we got everyone in the pool it was a delight and a highlight (wish the glass ceiling wasn't converted over, the glass would really class it up).The ramps (in the pool and hallway) were really steep for those individuals as well. It's really just a lack of awareness for persons with disabilities. Easily fixed with a management that cares- which I hope you do.
The team did mention vreakfast- it was lacking- so don't count on it to be a fueling for the day more like tide you over until you got food in town.
Check in was amazing and accommodating - guest services were polite and friendly. We aren't saying we won't come back, but we may explore in town options next year when we all return. Unless we hear of the needed updates.

Yall… this is gonna be lengthy!

The property was hard to even find as it’s not well lit- looks like something from a horror movie. Parking is on the side of building with NO lighting & you have to walk through a giant bush to get to the front.

The grounds were “maintained” but it looks abandoned. The inside of the place smelled like mold & must and was just generally unclean. Stains on the walls, stains on the white towels, the doors had handprints… the windows weren’t stained or tinted & we were on the first floor so we had to keep the curtains closed the entire time. The carpets were all rippled and actually caused me to trip several times- let’s not even talk about the RAMP???? Why is there a Tony Hawks pro skater ramp to get to the hallways with the rooms? Why is it so steep??

The freaking door to the room didn’t even close properly- it was ajar the whole time. We checked the other nearby rooms & they also were not closed properly. We tried to search for another hotel but nothing is even remotely nearby in this area. I wouldn’t have even requested a refund that’s how grossed out we were. There was hair on and inside the pillow cases- the towels had stains- everything felt and smelled unclean and unkept. If you’re hungry or thirsty- forget about it because theres nothing available

The employee was nice but there was only 1 guy at the desk, creating long check in times. The older man I assume is the father/grandfather lurks about and stares at you which is very creepy.

The room was clean, the temperature controls worked well (although the print was so small it was difficult to read), and the staff was friendly and helpful. The bar/restaurant was nice and the lady there was very helpful.

What I did not like was the difficulty for someone using a walker to navigate the hallway. There was a rather steep incline/decline with a loose handrail that was dangerous. It looked like there were stairs that had been converted to a ramp but the angle was so severe that anyone in a wheelchair or walker would be at risk using it.

They are definitely in need of some upgrades. The rug on the second floor, definitely has issues.
The front desk was not attended on Sunday or Monday. To get extra towels we had to go to the front desk to get them. Our room wasnt cleaned at all on Sunday, we had to call and ask someone to come get the garbage and wet towels.
Thought about going swimming but the pool had a nasty layer of film on it.
