If you’re looking for a predictable, consistent Marriott-branded stay in Gettysburg, the Courtyard is a safe choice. The hotel was clean, well-kept, and appeared to be well-managed, which is what you’d expect from the brand.

That said, it’s worth noting that Gettysburg offers many boutique hotels, B&Bs, and short-term rentals that are closer to the historic downtown and battlefield areas. We chose this property primarily to use Bonvoy points during our spring break trip, knowing it would be a more standard, less unique experience.

One downside was the lack of a complimentary continental breakfast, which is something we’ve come to expect at many Marriott properties. Instead, there’s a lobby café available, but it comes at an additional cost.

Overall, this is a reliable, no-surprises option—but if you’re looking for something more charming or closer to the historic sites, you may want to explore other accommodations.

I had a couple of complaints about this property. First it showed having a pool and hot tub. It did not. As a grandparent i often choose hotels on whether or not they have one as its a good way to relax after a long drive. I was told that theres was being replaced with more conference rooms..secondly they had no complimentary coffee set out...my husband always looks forward to this. We were told its not put out until bistro restaurant opened. So much for a welcoming hot drink..

We travel a lot as a small family and prefer to stay at Marriott hotels when we can afford it because they are clean, the beds are comfortable, very little hallway noise, and close to nearby attractions. Marriott rates are usually more than other chains, but I find them to be at that sweet spot where its not too pricy, but just pricy enough to keep the people of Walmart from booking there too.

Plus: One of the most professional and thoughtful check-ins I’ve ever had - even though we arrived after midnight. They gave us a quiet room on a high floor.

Purchased one night, King Size Bed with pull-out sofa.

The TV didn’t work in our first room. No response from the remote or physical buttons on TV.

We had already un-packed our cooler. So we re-packed it and we went down to get another room.

The TV worked in the second room. However, the TV, remote, and the entertainment service made us feel like we were in 1980. Whoever runs this hotel should be embarrassed. Their in-room TV service was joke.

Overall, I wouldn’t pick this particular hotel for an Anniversary or anything similar. I did take pictures of some of the, “gross things,” things we found.

Leftover-dried food residue on mini/ice chest, dried on food to our couch table, and what appears to be a booger on one of the shelves in the room. I’d be happy to share these photos.

I thought a Marriot Courtyard would have been a great place to spend a night. We will absolutely not stay here again, and we may never pick a Marriot Courtyard again for any stay.

The room was very nice however when we walked out in the morning on one of our days there we noticed that the garbage was just overflowing and that’s something that should be emptied not just twice a day, but continually throughout the day. The other thing that I didn’t care for was the fact that You didn’t even serve coffee throughout the day now I’m not looking for free coffee. I was willing to pay for it. The machine was right there, but because I didn’t make it at 10 o’clock there was no coffee to be served. And lastly, the rooms were just very dark just not enough light in the rooms. I can live without the coffee that wasn’t a big deal and the garbage pails will be run in my room. It just made the hallways of the hotel look a little messy, but I think I would’ve preferred a little bit more light in the rooms.

I booked 2 king rooms. The hotel was not full. One of the rooms given to me was a handicapped room. Absolutely not what I wanted but we were all very tired after driving for 9 hours. To Whom it May Concern,
My husband and I were Very disappointed with this hotel. We always stay at Marriott hotels. It’s the one hotel I am guaranteed a comfortable firm mattress. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case after many years of a satisfied stay. I had to either sleep in the very center of the mattress or lie across the bottom of the bed. I am only 100 lbs and I was sinking into the mattress. Thank goodness there was a pullout couch for my husband to sleep on. The room was also the smallest room I have ever had in a Marriott. The shower had the cheapest plastic shower curtain that felt terrible when it occasionally touched my skin. I am disabled and it would have been too much for my husband to move all my required medical equipment and comforts from home to another room. Room had some issues. Curtains had a large rip, random blob of yellow stuff in the bathroom, and the tv remote buttons had a heafty delay after pushing which made navigation annoying.

Most comfortable beds!

Most comfortable beds with actual blankets that we've stayed in in awhile. Room was set up odd..... sideways. But all in all clean and comfy room.
Great hot shower and water pressure.
Only complaint was tv. It was slow to work and small, at an odd angle to watch from bed.

We were given a room above the laundry room. They started laundry each day at around 7 am. It was so loud we could not go back to sleep. When we first checked in the table next to bed had water all over it w cup marks as well. Not sure room was properly cleaned.
