We did not have air conditioning for first night ( $195 stay) so we were moved to another room and told they would comp that first night but only $103 of it. We got no room service and were told unless we requested it. ( do we need to do that ? Really) no body lotion and a half bottle of shampoo provided to us. Calling front desk took forever as did the arrival of maintenance to “ repair” the air conditioner.

The Hotel itself is above average, the staff is professional, efficient and friendly. In their lobby is a very cool replica civil war canon. Overall good experience with the hotel. The attached restaurant however is another story entirely as multiple staff struggled with the basics. Do yourself a favor and dine elsewhere.

Nice hotel, clean. Convenient to Gettysburg. Prices were ok at ~$150/night. They did give us vouchers for a \"free\" breakfast. We wanted our breakfast to go but we had to wait till 7am to order & the staff wasn't very efficient. Plus they got our orders wrong, but we were already on our way home 30 minutes later than we had hoped.

Hotel is clean and very well maintained. Our only complaint was that breakfast service was extremely slow our first morning there. We waited about 50 minutes for our food, which was easy to prepare breakfast food like eggs, toast, bacon, etc. The next day was much faster.

The property was not well maintained. I mean the grass was mowed but there were cigarette butts and paper and other small pieces of garbage all over which made it less appealing. The lobby and first floor was well maintained and was very patriotic in decoration. We had dinner in the Oak Room…OMG! Get the salmon - SPECTACULAR!!! Hats off to the chef 😃. We had 2 King sized bedrooms. The outlets in each bathroom did not work. Do NOT use the coffee makers until u look at the water chamber. It was not just filthy, it was disgusting! In both rooms! That was unfortunate because we were on the 6th floor and it’s a long walk to the lobby’s mini mart. Kudos to the reception though, for comping us a few cups of coffee from the little market.

My low review is directly associated with the water temperature. The first morning I was there, there never was hot water in the morning. I took an absolutely cold shower. The second morning the water was lukewarm at best.
There were a lot of soccer players there the first night, families with children, and I was told by the staff that they must used all the hot water. I was assured the water would be hot/warm the next day since they has checked out. However, the second morning the water was lukewarm at best and never got hot. Better then cold, but still.
The hotel should have sufficient hot/warm water to enable all of its occupants to be able to shower. That first morning, I tried to shower and then waited about an hour and tried again. But we had plans to see the national park and how long should I need to wait?

This lovely hotel just outside historic Gettysburg offers comfortable beds in good-sized rooms with a variety of amenities such as comfortable chairs around fireplaces, spacious areas for relaxing, tables for games, a pool, an in-house restaurant and a bar. It feels luxurious though moderately priced. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the area around the hotel is quiet and in the countryside.
The only negatives were that the provided shampoo and conditioner were in hard-to-use bottles (suggestion: bring your own favorites) and the sink counter was uneven. These issues were reported to management.
Other than those small distractions, our stay there was very enjoyable and relaxing, and we would stay there again.

The price is too high and when we arrive the person at the counter did not help us as we need help with our luggage and he was so careless to guide us as we have to figure out everything on our own. When he saw we are Asian race and didn’t even bother to be nice and friendly and at the same time talking so friendly with a white person standing next to me.
There is no microwave and the beds are not queen beds but charged me too much. Same room my friends got 118 on hotels.com. We were cheated with double the price just for few hours. Check in and check out times are horrible for the price. We checked in at 12 midnight and checked out at 9:20 am.
Hardly used the room and it’s not convenient at all. The front desk people are not friendly at all. They are racist people there.

Here’s a more polished version that still sounds natural and honest:

I’m giving this hotel 2 stars mainly because of the reservation issue we experienced. I specifically called ahead and explained that we would be arriving a day later, but that I was still paying for the first night because I wanted to make sure our room would be held. I was reassured multiple times that everything was fine and that our room would be waiting for us. Unfortunately, when we arrived the next day, our reserved room with two queen beds was no longer available and we ended up with a king bed instead, which was really frustrating considering I had called ahead and paid to avoid exactly that situation.

The hotel itself is decent overall, especially if you’re in town for sports tournaments like we were. Having washer and dryer access was super helpful, and the breakfast vouchers were a nice gesture too. Staff was pleasant, but the rooms definitely need a little more attention and upkeep. There was a strong odor in the room that honestly smelled musty, almost like feet, and it made the stay less comfortable than expected.

Overall, not the worst stay, but the reservation mix-up and room condition were disappointing.

When arrived no one was at the front desk … waited a while, worth a mention since this happed twice more. Room was spacious as was the bathroom, however the vanity was tiny. While on the bathroom hot water was not available after 9PM…. What was that about. In and out of the property was a deal, no night lighting and somehow the front desk as was indicated by the GPS was actually the back of the property… just a worthy mention.

My room was antiquated and needed work. The shower had rust stains in it (it was gross), the sink was cracked in several places, and there was a small tear in the fitted bedsheet near the pillows. The lobby was cramped and small, the floors were well-used. It’s too bad because the location was great. However, I wish I had booked at another hotel in the area instead. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Negatives included a shower with only half a door (and a hole in that half, by design) that left the bathroom floor flooded, a location that was a bit further from the National Park than optimal, and the thing that really spoiled the vibe -

The property has a nice dining room. All the promotional literature, the main foyer signage, and the online info say dinner is served at 4 pm. We arrived hungry at 4:45 pm and were told the dining room didn't open 'til 5 pm. We went to the bar to wait and had an unpleasant interaction with a staff member who might have been joking but made us feel uncomfortable.

So we left and went to the Gateway Family Diner (very close by on the same property - just 2 buildings down). We recommend you do the same.

Honest opinion. The lobby and property grounds were very nice. However the rooms were very dated and the tv was small. The beds were fairly comfortable for me but my husband thought it was a bit lumpy and could feel springs. The beds could use a thicker blanket or spare in the closet. Everything was very clean in the room though. Shower and water pressure were great.
The pool was cold for an indoor pool and the hot tub felt great but needs to be resurfaced. The diner was nice for breakfast. We traveled with our grandkids for a little weekend getaway. They enjoyed it and that’s all that really mattered but they would have been in the pool longer if it was slightly warmer. All in all, a bit overpriced and ok but needs improvements.

There is no microwave in any of the rooms. You need to go to the pantry by the front desk to heat up any food you have. Room service is basically take out. I was told by front desk you need to call downstairs to a restaurant and be told what is available (no menu in the room either) then go downstairs to pick it up. I feel like the hotel doesn't accomodate their guests like they should. No one is going to want to be settled in their room just to go downstairs to heat up what they want to eat just to go back upstairs. No one after a long drive is going to want to pick up their own \"room service\" order. In the end, my opinion of the hotel is that it's not worth the money to spend due to lack of basic amenities and lsck of consideration to their guests who are paying good money to stay there. I know i will never be back there again....oh and the bed sheets are kinda scratchy as well and not soft like people would have at home.

Forgot something in the room, called them later in the day and spoke with someone at the desk. They had the items, and arranged for pickup the next morning. Very helpful and nice. Good location within walking distance of a movie theater and family diner, a short drive from a bunch of restaurants and shops, and less than 15 minutes to the battlefield museum. Excellent breakfast at the Oak Room is well worth the cost. Indoor pool was crowded at the time and not the cleanest ever, and the shower was sadly pretty low-pressure.

The Wyndham in Gettysburg was a beautiful overnight stop for us. It was nestled back in a pretty drive. The hotel has historic elements and everything seemed to be crisp and clean. The staff were really friendly. The bed was extremely comfortable. We will most definitely stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay. The room was very clean. Water pressure was great and water got nice and hot. The beds are absolutely amazing and comfortable. The pool was clean and the hot tub was great. The pool and hot tub are also open till 11 pm. That was a huge bonus to our stay. Wished we would have had a microwave in our room, but it didn't negatively affect our stay. Staff was fanatastic. They were both friendly and accommodating. We would absolutely recommended!!!
