I had a very disappointing experience during my stay. The bathtub was clogged, and the toilet kept making loud noises with water constantly running. The entire facility had an unpleasant smell, like dirty rugs, which made it very uncomfortable.

The elevators were dirty and poorly maintained, and the room itself was lacking basic amenities—there wasn’t even a microwave, only a fridge.

Overall, this felt like a complete waste of my time and money. I would not recommend staying here.

Worst check-in ever in my life. Too well over an hour to get checked in. There must have been a line of 100 people getting checked in and only three staff members. The elevators took up to 20 minutes ! I had to push back a dinner reservation because everything took so long.

Horrible customer base staying here. I mean absolutely no control over kids and noise. 12:30 morning kids yelling having full blown conversations right in hallways . Called front desk nothing done about it. They got rid of Starbucks so only place get coffee is restaurant on 6th floor and when we got there 45 min wait for place half empty. This once gem of Atlantic City has officially catered to lower class of people and they let them run wild. Get what you pay for. Pay the extra money stay at resort

The beach view was barely visibale over the rooftops and machinery on top of the roof. There was a view from our room down into the pool through the skylight however. The room itself was fine, although the paint, fixture and whirlpool tub surface looked a bit fatigued and the dresser was missing all of the handles along the top shelves meaning we could not use them. Also, very minor but, the coffee machine was broken in the room and the hair dryer didnt work very well.

For what it costs per night you would maybe expect just a bit more refinement considering the competing hotels within walking distance.

All in all however we were very happy with our stay, and the room was clean and neatly made.

The stay was bad. The hotel needs improvements. Rugs are dirty. The room is so rundown. Air conditioner didn't work properly. They claimed it would get to the temperature we wanted with the censor which was a lie the room was 74 degrees at night bathroom was dirty and cabinet doors unhinged and room doors do not lock properly.

Upon check-in, we were assigned adjoining rooms (1826–1827). Both rooms had broken thermostats, leaving the rooms unreasonably cold completely inappropriate, especially considering there were young children (all under the age of six) present. W had to put two of our asthma children on their machines for treatment due to this and addition, the smoke detector in room 1827 went off continuously throughout the night. We reported these issues multiple times, both overnight and again in the morning. Despite repeated calls, no immediate action was taken.

It was not until approximately 10:00 AM that a staff member (Ricardo) confirmed the issues and advised that we needed to be moved. However, no room change occurred until after 6:00 PM an unacceptable delay of over eight hours. During this time, we interacted with a front desk employee named Ryan, who was dismissive, unhelpful, and unable to provide any resolution, citing staffing shortages and lack of management. This level of disorganization is not a guest’s responsibility to absorb.

When we were finally moved, there was no assistance provided no staff support, no luggage carts (we were told they were “lost”), and no effort to accommodate the inconvenience we had already endured.

Housekeeping never serviced our rooms during the stay. Not once.

We were later told by an overnight staff member (11 PM–7 AM shift) that we would receive a 50% discount for the affected night for both rooms.This was communicated clearly, yet no consist

I’ve been staying at the Claridge for some time now. I came down for the last AC beer fest weekend and Claridge is typically my place to stay. It’s sad how COVID has diminished these once pristine places. The gift shop was gone, the lounge, empty, and the overall vibe was a little sad.

The Ocean view room was fine, but was is severe need of updating. A dilapidated wet bar was in the room that seemed to serve no purpose, and one of the recessed lights above the bed was broken. My wife tried to plug in a phone charger and the outlet sparked. This place is an accident waiting to happen. I’d find other options if you could swing it.

I typically don’t post negative reviews, but between all of the above and 1 out of 5 working elevators during our stay, this was probably my final time at the Claridge. End of an era.

I sincerely hope there are some updates in the future, but I’m realistic and understand that AC is a dying city and I won’t expect much to change. I hope I’m wrong.

This place is a wonderful getaway for families and adults that enjoy the beach, pool, restaurants, casino, and cocktails. I recommend the restaurant on the 6 floor and the bar/lounge the Vue that’s in the 23rd floor. I also recommend to walk the boardwalk and partake in activities there.

We did not get a beach view? We got a building next door view. The elevators were slow. I think only 3 of 5 were operating at any given time causing waits of 15 minutes or more. On checkout, I was promised a receipt in email because \"my printer is down\", but never received one.

I love old buildings so I stay here often . It’s very classy and period correct, very clean . They do not have a merchant for water , soda, chips etc…. So I bring this with me when I stay .

I had a very disappointing experience at The Claridge Hotel. When I arrived, I was told that pets are not allowed unless they are service animals, even though my booking through Expedia stated the hotel was pet-friendly. This was very frustrating and put me in an uncomfortable situation during my stay.

The cleanliness was unacceptable. My room was not cleaned at all during my stay—not even once. I had to request trash bags and cleaning supplies and clean the room myself, which is something I should never have to do at a hotel.

The elevators were another major issue. Out of five elevators, only one was working, and I had to wait anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes just to go up or down. It made getting around the hotel extremely inconvenient.

The worst part was the pool area. There were roaches everywhere—I even have pictures. It was disgusting and completely ruined the experience. On top of that, the entire hotel felt dirty. The hallways constantly smelled like marijuana, and there were people going up and down who appeared to be under the influence.

To make matters worse, I had to wait anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour just to get clean towels.

Overall, this hotel was a horrible experience. What was advertised online was completely different from what I encountered in person. I would not recommend staying here at all.

Phones didn't work to order food. We had no washcloths or towels in the room when checking in. And we asked for them the entire weekend we was there and they never gave none . We had to find a store to buy some . Staff was very manipulating $100 deposit was never mentioned until we arrived it and I was surprised so I had to pay pay $136 extra.

I come to the Claridge hotel every year for the last 15 years and this is the last time I’ll stay there. Upon check in, the employee was unfriendly and when asked about an extra charge said we should learn to read the information before bothering. The room was never cleaned the next day and I went downstairs and asked 2 times for towels, and housekeeping never came. The pool windows were filthy and no clean towels so I had to use my humid room towels. The window in the room had a gap (room 1830) so all the cold air goes right thru so you have to out the heat high which made sleeping unpleasant. For the same price, I got a deal at the Tropicana and our 2 rooms stayed there with more plush and larger beds, clean rooms and full amenities.

The staff was incredibly nice, accommodating and friendly. The rooms and hotel as a whole was clean and the pool was the greatest amenity for our children. The only issue was the key card became deactivated several times, and the rooms are not modernized in terms of TV and linen. Other than that we enjoyed the space, 20’s vibe and atmosphere in general.

I instantly knew upon entering the room it’d been smoked in despite my call to the desk confirming it was “non smoking” room. (Non smokers know) The exterior of the hotel is dimly lit, across from a park where there were homeless regularly laying about. Further, the brick sidewalk was in poor condition with butts, needles etc. I had a lamp w/a missing knob & maintenance’s answer was to unplug/plug it in. My hair dryer was broke & had to wait for a replacement. The first 2 days, housekeeping took my wet towels but did not replace them. Day 3 they took/replaced nothing nor did they make the bed, empty trash… nothing until I called 3x between 5:30 & 7 pm to get fresh towels to take a shower. I would not recommend or stay again.

It took 20 minutes for the elevator to get to each floor. This was average. I was there for your whole three days. My bathroom door was falling off the hinges. So we couldn't shut it. They allowed the guest to bring Bluetooth speakers into the building. They were playing them in the lobby and in the room. I had to call room service to let them know that the room next to me had a Bluetooth speaker and I could hear it in my room. And this was at 2 o'clock in the morning.

We got there at 4pm and the line did not move for 2hs. We find out they were cleaning the linens so the rooms were not ready. Then up the slowest elevator to get to my room only to find out my door key did not work. I checked out at 9 am sun to avoid the line. Last time I go there.

Our family stay was ruined by deceptive billing and terrible maintenance. We had two adjoining rooms for us and our teens. None of us smoke, yet we were hit with a hidden $400 smoking charge after checkout. When I called, the front desk admitted they rely on an unverified \"quiet alarm\" to automatically issue fines without sending staff to confirm. Had they actually checked, they'd know the overwhelming weed smell was coming from their own hallways all weekend in this supposedly \"smoke-free\" hotel.

Beyond the fraudulent charge, the property is in disrepair and lacking basic services:

Elevators: Only 1 or 2 of the 5 elevators worked most of the weekend, causing huge delays.

Room Issues: Neither of the room safes worked, and one closet door was broken.

Resort Fees: We were charged a $36 fee for a pool and gym we didn’t use, plus completely unsecured Wi-Fi.

Dining: We paid for breakfast at the on-site restaurant, but they had absolutely no fruit available.

Between the unjustified $400 penalty, broken amenities, and lack of basic upkeep, this stay was incredibly frustrating. Save your money and stay somewhere that respects its guests.

We like The Claridge; esp the indoor pool. This past weekend was our second time staying there. The hotel is old, but quaint. The bathroom in our room was upgraded since last year. Also the affordability of the food in the restaurant is refreshing. I like the hotel. I do, wish, however, that they had a gift shop. I would love a souvenir of my stay at The Claridge.

The only reason why I gave this property a try was because it was very cheap for a Friday night Saturday. They gave us a room. We walked in on people twice, not once but twice.
It was so embarrassing. The hotel is very dirty not disgusting but dirty. I did not really feel safe using the elevators by myself. The staff was looking at us like we were crazy because we walked into somebody else’s room that they gave us the key too. I would NEVER!!! stay here again. they did give us $30 vouchers for breakfast at the restaurant which was OK not bad. But they promised us an upgrade for the next day but then they said their computers were down so they did not give us one. We had to change our keys two times because there’s just stopped working out of nowhere. And I did not put them by a drivers license or a credit card.

The hotel is very quiet, the room was clean. The only problem I had was the worker said there wasn’t any more face cloths.
The one time I expected the beds to get made, it wasn’t done.
I wouldn’t hold it against the hotel, I would visit again to see what happens.
