Great service, walkable location

The staff was amazing. They gave us great recommendations for restaurants close by and options for taking metro or walking to the Acropolis. The location was good, just a 5 minute walk to the Omonia metro and a 15-20 minute walk to Monastiraki and Plaka neighborhoods. We walked to the Acropolis and its museum one day and to the National Archaeological Museum the next. The museums were not to be missed.

The only issue we had at the hotel was the WiFi in our room (405) was very weak and dropped off after 10-15 minutes. The signal was strong in the hallway, so we’d have to walk out to the hall frequently to get the signal back. The manager was apologetic about the WiFi and tried to get it fixed.

The staff were lovely and helpful. The property was clean and the breakfast was decent. However, the family suite room had a number of mosquitos and was not soundproofed really well as you could hear every car pass in the middle of the night and people talking on the streets. The hotel was also situated in an unsafe area. Everyday we saw drug addicts shooting up, with the streets surrounding the hotel being littered with used syringes. The reception door to the hotel was kept is also kept locked all day and on one day we saw a person being carried by an ambulance (one can only assume that they had ODed). Obviously this is not the hotel's fault and one cannot fault the staff for this but one to avoid if you are traveling with a family.

I stayed at Tins hotel city for 3 nights in August 2025. The hotel itself was lovely, with really friendly staff and nice amenities. Almost perfect for solo travellers like myself. However, the surrounding area was quite unpleasant and actually really dangerous, especially after sunset. The hotel entrance is locked 24 hours a day which I can only assume is for safety purposes because the area really is that bad. It's such a shame but overall I can't fault the hotel and it's not their fault. I can only be honest about the area it's located.

The breakfast was somewhat limited, and the area around the hotel was quite concerning. There were about four or five large waste bins outside the hotel, and I noticed several people rummaging through them. The surroundings did not feel safe; fortunately, my son and I can take care of ourselves, but I wouldn't have felt comfortable with my daughter being there alone.

The hotel is well-maintained and clean. The staff is courteous, and they have convenient access to public transportation. The only issue is the neighborhood. It poses a significant safety risk, and the taxi companies that I used to provide transportation corroborated this assessment. Should you wish to take a taxi from the hotel to the train station during early morning or late evening hours, that is an option available to you. The hotel is a welcome oasis in the otherwise unremarkable surroundings.

It is a modern building situated in a wrong area. You pass drug addicts injecting themselves. Homeless people occupy the streets making difficult to walk in the streets. The sewage system is so bad that the area stinks and rubbish is everywhere.
There is no warm foods for the breakfast. The staff are not serving that made you feel unwelcome. Not ready to replenish the food.
Cakes and other savoury foods often from yesterday.
Dusty on the floor. Never been mopped.

I’m sorry, but I couldn’t sleep at all! I stayed for three nights, and none of those nights did I sleep properly. It was too noisy, and the hotel really needs soundproof windows. The area is very sketchy and not suitable for families.

Staff were really good and friendly, breakfast was good, room was clean and serviced daily. Only issue was the surrounding area, littered with needles on the streets, prostitutes and shady-looking characters - no fault of the hotel or staff. Security was also good at the hotel, despite the surrounding area we felt safe enough.

The staff was wonderful, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The property was clean and well maintained. However the location is located in a very bad part of town with prostitution, garbage and people shooting drugs next door. Don’t know how it got rated 4 stars because to me it was more like 2 to 3 stars hotel.

The hotel is in a very unsafe area of Athens with people using drugs openly on the streets and with homeless people sleeping on the street very close to the hotel.
You need to ring a bell to enter the hotel even during the day!
The area is loud in the evening due to drug users arguing or fighting.

Staff are great and very helpful.
Nice hotel with great staff but in the wrong neighbourhood. Always read the reviews before booking!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and breakfast was filling. Unfortunately, the location did not feel safe. We would have to cross the street because there would be a group of homeless and clearly sedated people on the hotel’s side of the sidewalk. We even came across people actively shooting up drugs on the street right across from the hotel. BE CAREFUL!!!

If you want to walk among the homeless and drug atticks then this is the place to go. Extremely unsafe neighborhood. The odor of stale urine is everywhere by the hotel, and the litter is not so good.

All the staffs are super friendly. Rooms are comfortable and it is conveniently located near the Hondo Center which is where the hop on hop off busses are. Yes, it is in a sketchy area but as long as you pay attention, then you will be fine.

Although I like the hotel, staff and breakfast. The daily walk to the hotel was sketchy at best. It's the most well kept building the seedy neighborhood. It was walkable to most tourist sites but the surrounding environment was not pleasant to walk in day or night. Just being honest.

Tins surprisingly has larger than the normal rooms that we’ve stayed in Athens. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It’s a 4 min walk from Omonia station. I’m very particular about showers and they had a rain shower head instead of a handheld ones. For taller people like me this is a plus. Bed was comfortable, bathroom and actually room size was great. Room slippers, shower gel and shampoo was provided which for some is a plus. All in all we enjoyed our short stay at Tins Boutique Suites!

Okay! The staff here are literally amazing! So kind! So helpful! So resourceful! They have cute quirks like a compliment book! The check in lady walked us to our room and gave us a packet of places to go and eat! Very kind folks. The hotel itself is okay- comfortable, definitely 3 star and nothing fancy. Unfortunately the area around this hotel is so bad! There is prostitution right outside and on the day of check in my family and I witnessed someone shooting up drugs right outside. I remember, feeling scared that I would step on a needle or get robbed. I don’t think this is the place for a single traveler. The area in which the hotel is located, is quite sketchy and dangerous but once you get like 10 minutes away from the hotel, you’re in a okay spot. Near a train station!

This hotel was perfect for my friend and myself - everything is within walking distance, there are plenty of supermarkets nearby, every member of staff were so welcoming to us and our room was extremely clean. One thing to keep in mind - the area is not in keeping with the high standard of the hotel, if you have children I definitely don’t recommend being outside in this area at night. But overall my friend and myself were really happy with our stay :)

Its in a rough neighborhood. At night i could see people smoking crack and shooting something in their skin. Hookers on the block too.

BUT inside the hotel is wonderful. Its 24 hr security ensuring safety. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff was more than friendly. The breakfast was small but quite nice. The barista is the only person who didn’t acknowledge me. He wasn’t rude but compared to everyone else, he was not friendly. They replaced all the toiletries daily. Free water in the room and free wifi. I would stay again. I didnt feel any danger as an adult but maybe i wouldnt stay here with kids if you want the option to walk around at night.

The hotel was clean and modern, and the staff were brilliant. So professional and kind.

I may have read incorrectly but I booked this hotel because I thought they had down comforters and after travelling around Greece, I miss heavy blankets. They did not have down comforters, so as long as you don’t mind the normal thin blankets, you’ll be fine. I’d probably still book here again; I really enjoyed the stay.

The door to the hotel is kept locked at all times, someone from inside has to open it for you to enter. I’m assuming it’s because it’s not a safe neighbourhood.

Beautiful room!

Very nice, clean, cool room with modern decorations! Clearly a newly created hotel. Linens and towels very clean. Beautiful property! The 2 ladies at the desk were awesome...super helpful!

Unfortunately the area is a bit sketch, and at times, loud from people who are homeless. There’s a ton of graffiti around and abandoned buildings, but it is different than in the US, where that usually denotes crime. We were assured that walking in the area was safe and we walked through there to the metro station daily, day & night, for 5 days. No one ever bothered my husband & I.

There are a few cafes and bakeries walking distance from the hotel and they were quite tasty and comfortable.

For the price, this hotel was well worth it. We would stay here again!

The hotel is in a seedier area of Athens but we had no problems walking to and from the hotel even after dark. Just be aware and you'll be fine.
The room was nice with good water pressure. The bed was very firm. The front desk was lovely and gave good recommendations. We would stay here again.

On a beaucoup aimer cet hotel. Le petit point negatif c'est peut etre la clim qui ne marche pas, mais dans l'ensemble tres bien.
La réception est top, toujours serviable, et réceptive à toute demande particulière. Une equipe formidable. Le petit dejeuner est complet, varié. Je recommande cet hotel, malgré le quartier d'Omonia sallement réputé. Toutefois on y trouve arret de bus et metro.

Le personnel de l'hôtel est très gentil. Mais le petit déjeuner est à revoir : fruits pas du tout frais, les aliments sont remis plusieurs jours d'affilés et ça se voit, le café est transparent et si on veut quelque chose de plus comme du lait chaud ou autre, il faut le demander à chaque fois. Ça serait plus simple de proposer des boissons chaudes dans un thermos.
Concernant l'emplacement, l'hôtel se situe dans un quartier très sale. On y trouve des prostituées entre autres.
Je ne recommande pas si vous venez avec des enfants.
Je ne comprends pas qu'Expedia puisse le proposer !

It’s 3 days trip with my wife. Hotel stuff is kind, friendly.
Room is big enough. Breakfast is good. Location is ok but people are yelling around the hotel at night. Hotel has a parking place next to hotel but you pay for it. I expected it’s free for the hotel guest.
