Run down and try to skimp out on amenities. No kettle or glasses /plastic cups. 3 Tiny paper cups in the bathroom only. Even after room service no fresh cups or water supplied. Plus charge you 45E when you check out I don’t know for what because it is in the middle of nowhere.

Decent hotel, but needs updates. Showers are extreme small the beds need updates as it was not the most comfortable and the pillow was very flat..

Few thing walkable, but thw weather did not allow for a lot of walking for us.

Front dest staff were really fantastic! The area is much as you'd expect from the exterior photos of the building. Even though we were assured it was safe to walk around, when we walked we found a prostitute on the nearby corner and the night activity with weird folks was too scary for us - we'd been traveling Europe for two weeks and are world travelers, so it's saying something that we felt unsafe.

We needed a place closer to the airport and this was perfect! I think if you want to be in Rome to tourist this mught be too far away, but for a stopover for the airort it was perfect!
The place is so nice, the lobby was amazing and had a nice patio with lots of sitting area. the rooms were very nice and clean, we had a crib waiting in our room for our baby! we left very early for our flight and they set us with a takeaway breakfast :) we had dinner and the bistro area was incredibly nice, the waiter super kind eventhough we didnt have a reservation, he accomodated us right away, food was delicious!

Made the booking with Expedia at around 2 in the morning due to delayed flight arrived 30 minutes after we booked it and the hotel employee said he couldn’t check us in and we’d have to cancel with expedia. Both Expedia and the hotel refuse to refund the stay. So unbelievably shady. Plus the area near the hotel is super scary with prostitutes and other scary individuals wandering the streets right outside! Do not stay here.

The variety of options for breakfast can be improved as on demand requests such as sunny side up egg was not accepted. Although the hotel was 4 star there was no pool which was a shame. WARNING—I didn’t feel safe!
We took our 17 YO daughters to Rome. This hotel is located close to Metro, so it seemed like a good choice. However, once the sun went down, the prostitutes came out. NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY AREA.

The desk staff are very nice and patient. Unfortunately management disables the air conditioning at night, and the rooms get very hot FAST. If you don't need air conditioning, it's not a bad hotel. There isn't much in the area, so it's pretty quiet outside at night.

also if there is any ability to have a big windows in the rooms since the view is very beautiful but i wasn't able to enjoy it through the room's window.

Staff are excellent and they went out of their way to help me and make my stay comfortable. My special thanks are to Stefano, Gianluigi, Monica, Fabiana, Miracle, Gerry and all breakfast/dining staff including Chef. I will definitely stay there again.

The location is a bit far from the city center but it worked for me as I was in Rome for official business. My meeting was in Lorentina area and this hotel was in between the meeting venue and the city center.

My amazing stay!

It was a great location for the business event I attended rome for. I loved the bed, the comfort of the room. The room was sooooo big! I was in shock! I could fit 5 people in the room and the bed comfortably! definitely worth the money and the experience - will definitely return.
In regards to getting to the city centre it wasn't. Luckily I know the area and can manoveur around Rome easily, for someone who doesn't know Rome well - I think it would be hard to get to the Hotel without a taxi.

AVOID! Better off staying in the center!

Not a 4 star hotel at all. Facilities old and dirty, elevator not working properly, breakfast completely disappointing. To access the hotel is problematic, you can't walk anywhere (no sidewalks) and the closest street is dark and full of prostitutes at night.

The room is just OK, but bathroom very dirty (big no for me) full of yellow stains in shower floor and black mold on floor and walls.

The staff is polite, but certainly not helpful - they are not proactive in trying to help or accommodate your needs.

I had a conference near the area and still would have preferred stayed in the center of Rome, since at least there you have nice things to do around and it's problematic to move around this hotel anyway.

First and last time for me!

Good value for what I paid. I went on business and needed something in that area. Close to the Metro but you have to be careful when walking back in the eveneing as it is full of prostitutes (half naked) at Viale Marconi.
The hotel is clean, reception is nice, staff is friendly.
The room is not as pretty as the ones in the pictures and the bathroom (and mainly shower) is very small.
Air conditioning is very low and it only takes off the edge of the heat, so if you travelling the summer, bring your lightest pijamas.
The energy went out twice during my 5 day stay (once at 3am making the emergency light turn on inside the room). But again, hotel is clean, no luxury, close to metro, and for a good $.

1. Elevator is facing sun all day long and it gets very hot inside.

Good value and very quiet for Rome.

Only a couple of things need improvement. With everything else about the hotel done so well, why not have the showers perfectly clean too? All you need is a bit of bleach and scrubbing in the corners and the edges to get rid of the mildew/mold. And get the water stains out of the toilet bowls please.

Overall, great hotel for the price in Rome. Very quiet location. I would stay there again.

Stayed one night. Overall hotel looked old, dirty carpets and walls. Same in the room. WiFi was terrible, very slow, kept dropping connection. Bed was firm and pillows were overly hard. Staff was friendly and helpful at check-in. No shops or restaurants in the neighborhood. Easy walking distance to metro stop, so quick and easy access to city center. Ample parking, and close to highway exit, so easy to drive to without driving through Rome. Breakfast was included, but not much variety, and not much fresh fruit.

Nice hotel near bus route and metro

The hotel was about 8 minutes walk to the Metro station and about 4 minutes to the nearest bus stop (Route 170). The service was very good, friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is a bit dated but it did not bother us too much as they had given us a spacious room with space for a sofa bed for our 8 year old daughter. Breakfast - continental and plenty with many options. Bar is open until 11pm and not expensive. You could purchase Metro/bus ticket from the receptionist at no extra cost - which was great.
Downside - For May, when it was about 26 C, the centralized aircon was off, and so we had to sleep with the windows open. The girls with skimpy clothes in the street was a turnoff especially when returning back after 9pm with a child. Would recommend the hotel due to proximity to supermarket (to pick up water/juices/snacks etc) and public transport.

We did enjoy our stay there but a few things they were wrong with the hotel:very bad wifi, no tea or coffee in the room , no shaving kit, no toth brush and the worst one was the area where it is situated, beacouse at night next to the hotel more then one woman, who engages in inappropriate activity for payment,were doing there job ( not allowed to use inappropriate language)

A fab hotel

I felt this hotel was great. The staff were courteous and helpful. The room was cleaned and made up every day. And the breakfast I felt was a fab too, a buffet. I stayed at the hotel for 8 days on route from trekking in Nepal and back to UK (I love Rome). I read the comments on 'ladies of the night', and I didn't see any such activity, apart from one night when I came back late (22.00).

I will certainly use the Area Hotel again :)

Variable quality of service,seriously understaffed

Arrived on a Friday evening. Lifts not working and no staff to help with luggage. Staff at reception seemed overworked and dispassionate about the problem. Problem not sorted over the entire weekend. I had to drag my luggage to the 3rd floor up the stairs. Rooms were decent for the hotel class and very clean. Toilets well stocked with towels. Room sizes no where like what you see in the photos.

Breakfast limited choice and service seriously understaffed. You have to search for cups and juice glasses as people keep on taking them from adjacent tables when they can't find one. No proper restaurants and only serves limited pre-heated frozen food if you are desperate. There are no restaurants within walking distance of this hotel and families with small children should be aware of this. Bar service is decent and lounge spacious for this type of hotel.
The biggest advantage is the underground station situated only 5-7 minutes walking distance and very convenient for Rome central areas.

Good hotel on the outskirts of Rome

Rooms were cleaned daily, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was good and there was free wifi.

Hotel was a little out of town but the metro is close by and only a 5/6 minute journey to the centre of Rome.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and even gave us a map of Rome to help us get about!

Ironic name, not a nice area

its an old decent hotel , needs maintenance , but if you are walking to metro at night , there are girls standing in revealing attire, standing every 10 feet looking for customer, Hotel overall is ok, ample free parking, decent breakfast, staff is very helpful but air conditioning is not good , we had to change room after first night and second room still was not really cooling but at least we could sleep. Broken safe deposit box in second room, They keep room ac remote on front desk so you have to ask them to change setting on cooling

fine for the money

we chose this hotel because it was reasonably close to the metro to get into Rome. It is a brisk 10 min walk to the station. Hotel is hard to find so have a GPS! Room was clean, bathroom a good size. We had 4 single beds which was just fine although not a lot of room to move around. The hotel was clean but unfortunately they have white carpet everywhere, even in our room which is impossible to keep clean. Breakfast was included and quite good. We filled up before a big day in Rome. If you come back to hotel at night, you will see ladies of the evening along the way. Just something else to chat about while walking!

The hotel was very nice. The room was easy to find and was very clean, as the staff would clean it often without having to ask them. Also, the room was very spacious, as there wer four of us staying. The best thing about the hotel was its breakfast service, which was really good and possibly one of the reasons of looking forward to the day. The only negative which can be improved is the room temp, as it was very hot, there was not any fan or air conditioning in the room. Although we opened the windows, but because the hotel was located in a quite area it was best to close the windows at night. But overall, great service, great breakfast and very good staff.

We have made a good choice

We spent our spring break in Rome, and our choice of this hotel was really good. The hotel is very conveniently located, just a few minutes by foot from a metro station (which is just a few stops from the Coliseum). On the way from the metro station to the hotel there is a small grocery store and an inexpensive gastronomia - very convenient). The area is quiet and not crowded, the hotel is located behind a private school, which means that the neighborhood is safe. Yummy free breakfast, with a lot of nice selections. Very friendly service lady in the cafeteria – Oksana. Big thanks to her! Also a very friendly staff. We would like to thank Tatiana, Luciano, and many others, who made our stay very easy. The room was clean and large (per Roman standards). And, of course, we’ve got a great deal on the daily rate!

decent central location at a good price...

no idea where this hotel was when I booked it, but once you get there it's actually not too bad...
the street is the one which links Eur with central Rome, but unfortunately it's full of prostitutes at night (a growing problem in many cities...)
I liked the hotel overall, room was large and clean, bed was comfortable and there was a great deal of silence in the room (since it's a construction isolated from the main road by abt 150 feet).
Overall, I would not mind staying again here if prices are low like this time around...

Easy access from airport to the hotel by taxi which cost less than Eur45. Beakfast excellent with wide variety. Staff very helpful and provide good suggestions. The room was big for a family of Four adults. Metro Marconi station is a short walk from the hotel and cost Eur1.50 to any point in the city within 90mins.

Could not sleep at all

When I first arrived, the staff was very welcoming. They spoke English which made the check-in easy. When I arrived in my room, it was very hot and stuffy. I turned on the air conditioner to the highest and coldest setting and barely felt a breeze. After not being able to relax I requested a portable fan or another room from the front desk, but was only offered a glass of ice. Needless to say, I was unable to sleep and I sweat all night long. Other than that, the hotel is clean and modern and staff is friendly.

Great if you don't mind staying out of city center

Overall the experience was positive. The hotel is a short walk to the train station and the ride to Termini is about 15 min. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the receptionist was very helpful, providing a map and information about navigating Rome.

There was an air conditioner in our room but it did absolutely nothing to cool the room, even on the highest settings. We had to settle for opening the windows in the late evening to try to bring down the heat in our room but then we had to contend with mosquitoes.

The hotel was somewhat difficult to find when arriving at night because the sign is small and dark. Also you actually have to turn in at the \"police\" sign and not where the road is marked because then it is \"do not enter\".

The hotel advertises room service and a menu/bar but these services were never actually available.

Very hard to find, even with a street map

Very friendly staff, provided us with both a metro map and a map of downtown Rome, highlighted all the major attrtactions and main shopping streets without us even asking. Hugh room, enough spare space to include a full size pool table, and still have room to spare! Overall room was basic and in need of re-dororating as the wall had scruff marks. Hotel is currently being renovated and re-painted so this room is just waiting its turn. Carpet also requires replacing. Although breakfast was not included (8 Euros per person) it was fairly extensive and filling with both hot and cold options.
Biggest issue with this hotel was that it was just so hard to find, even with a street map. We spent almost an hour looking and actually circled the hotel 3 times before we found it. The only sign is not very clear and partially hidden by a tree.

Good hotel with great style

A very good hotel with stylish modern furniture. The only not so good thing was that the A/C was not very strong thus during the day our room got slightly hotter than pleasant. But this is only a problem if you visit in the hottest months (we visited in August).
Still, I highly recommend the hotel.

Great price, but, a bit hard to find.

We stayed here at for the price and quality it was great. It was hard to find though. The address that we had went to a school. But, after a while and talking to some of the locals, we eventually found it. It was behind the school. The hotel also had internet, but was only available in the lobby, which wasn't a big deal. We made it work. The only other issue I had was that it wasn't in the best of areas. When arrived back after a day of sight-seeing, there were multiple ladies of the night along the walk. After a few nights, we turned it into a game of how many will there be tonight. But, all in all the experience was great, the breakfast was an added plus too. They had everything from scrambled eggs, cereal, fruits and even English teas. All in all a great hotel.

I should have believed the other reviews. Why? Rude desk staff. Desk staff that gave incorrect information. Uncomfortable beds. Peeling paint in the shower. Ladies of the evening selling services on the street between the hotel and subway station. Overall, the breakfast was good, and it was pretty clean. Otherwise, it was horrible. Avoid.

Great value for the money! Would definitely stay at this hotel again!

The good: The hotel reception staff (especially Arianna) are very friendly, upbeat and helpful. The room and hotel was very clean, comfortable and modern. The breakfast was great, it included everything you can think of and was hot and fresh. The hotel is a short 10 minute walk from the Marconi station, taking you to the Colesseum and tourist areas in just 10 minutes. The bad: Showers are a little small.

Great rooms

Not happy with one of the hotel staff - bit rude and not welcoming. This lady couldnt even be bothered to help us navigate to the city center and around bearing in mind we had never been there before. However, the rest of the staff were brilliant. Rooms were fantastic could not fault it and breakfast was lovely. Was a brilliant holiday. Great hop on bus near hotel 10mins to the center of rome.

Getting there: If you have a car, no problem. If not: 10 minutes walk from Marconi metro. Ignore Google maps. Turn left on Via G. Marconi, cross road on pedestrian crossing, keep going same direction, thread past cars parked on pavement, garden center and other obstacles - see traveler's tip - after 10 minutes walk you will see signs to hotel round the corner on the right. Hotel itself: no restaurant or room service (I think). Breakfast quite OK, though. Hot dish, sweet and savory options. We had a cheap room. Clean, separate beds (opposite each other), no comfortable chair, widescreen TV without a Wimbledon channel :-( Bathroom with opening window (good if your wife is a nicotine addict), bidet (also good) and the legendary small shower (difficult to shower without getting your hair wet, apparently). Aircon worked in the room and landing, not in the lift. Bit of a ghost town generally when we were there - but we just wanted a clean bed and a good breakfast, and we got that.

A Hidden Gem

The hotel had a beautiful modern decor and great hot breakfast. The room was larger than your average European hotel, but the shower was quite small. The only drawback is that the hotel is a bit off the beaten path in that it is about a 10 minute walk from the nearest Metro stop (Marconi)and is tucked away off a main road. Still, I never felt unsafe in the neighborhood. Great location if you will have a car in Rome as it is off major highways.

Von außen ist das Hotel leicht zu unterschätzen, da es heruntergekommen und verfallen aussieht. Innen ist es gut in Schuss. Insbesondere die Lobby und das Restaurant sind sehr ansprechend renoviert. Das Zimmer ist einfach ausgestattet und die Betten sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Löcher und Flecken an Decken und Wänden sowie ein sehr renovierungsbedürftiges Bad führen zu starken Abzügen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend. Es kann auf einigen Plätzen kostenfrei geparkt werden. Die Metro ist in 7 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar und das Colloseum befindet sich 5 Stationen entfernt.

Bel hôtel proche métro ce qui permet d’accéder au centre historique de Rome en moins de 30 minutes.
Le personnel de l’hôtel est très aimable, les repas sont de qualité. Petit bémol sur la salle de bain un poil vétuste.
Globalement très satisfait, on en a pour son argent. Je recommande
