Hotel was nice. View of sunrise over the castle and city was pretty. The laundry room was very good. The room was quite hot and it was difficult to bring the temperature down. The restaurant attached to it shut an hour early which was an annoying.

We stayed in the updated twin rooms and they were very comfortable, with a beautiful view of the castle, moat and city. Would happily stay here again.

The room was a bit dusty.

The soap dispensers in the men’s toilet on the ground floor were empty.

I believe the photos of the rooms with a view of the castle had been photo shopped as I couldn’t figure out how it is possible to see the castle as show in the room photos, from any of the rooms. I was able to see the castle from the window but only just.

Wonderful place! The staff is great and the room was the perfect size with wonderful amenities! There are plenty of food options around and it’s about a 5 minute walk from the tram station! Each room also has its own AC where some hotels in Japan only have central AC it was nice to have personal control.

Excellent hotel. The only reason why we gave one less star for comfort was because, as visitors from Australia, we found the mattress to be very hard. It was the same at other hotels we stayed at in Japan. The hotel is within walking distance of the Matsuyama station or a short tram ride.

Westerners know what to expect.

The hotel and reception are impressive however of all the places we have stayed in Japan this was the first where we really nearly left halfway through our stay.

The room was dated and the sofa and net curtains had cigarette burns in them. The room was clean but noticeably a little run down.

The BIG issue though was the bed. We had a twin and both our beds were hard as rock. We asked for an additional duvet but we're told none were available so got a blanket each to try and add some padding. The following morning we asked for a different bed or a futon to put underneath the sheet but we're told all the beds were the same and there was no futon available. In the end we got yet more blankets and slept on 2 thick blankets and the duvet folded over under just a blanket. Even then the bed was still firm.

I'm sure for folk who are used to a futon this might be okay but for us it was difficult.

On the plus side the hotel view was amazing looking to the castle, although the hotel is a little out of the town centre- about a 20min walk or short tram ride.

First off, the location was great, about a 10 minute walk from Matsuyama station, and right next to Matsuyama Castle.

While the hotel is older, the room and bathroom were clean. There were some stains on the carpet and wall paper, and the plastics in the bathroom are little yellowed, but still overall clean. The air conditioning worked well, and the the room was quite large, at least by Japan budget hotel standards. I paid slightly more for a castle view room, and the view was definitely worth the extra money.

Overall, I think the hotel is a good value, personally had no regrets staying here, and would gladly stay here again.

Not so noce triple room

The Good:
- The staffs’ service is excellent
- Convenience store just across the street
- The castle can be considered walking distance
- Tram station just outside the hotel

The Bad:
- Hotel looks and feels very old
- The sofa bed state is terrible. headrest and armrest are very dirty. this was used by our son as his bed.
- The toilet has a weird smell
- The fridge doesn’t cool properly, temp is room temperature

The hotel should consider dry-cleaning, changing or re-upholstering the sofa bed. It is really terrible. We didnt inform the staff of this cos they cannot do anything.

I chose this hotel because it looked like the closest from Matsuyama Station. It was about a 10-minute walk but if you have big luggage or if the weather doesn't cooperate I would recommend taking a taxi. There is a tapas-type restaurant attached to the hotel and the dinner service was all-you-can-eat for one price (you simply order what you like), within 120 minutes. There are two tram stations (one to Matsuyama Station and the other to Dogo Onsen) right outside so it was really convenient. The Matsuyama Castle is right across the hotel so if you are lucky your room may have the view. The hotel's age was reflected in the room and it felt like 1980. There was no electric outlets at the nightstand and there was maybe one or two available outlets in the room. But for a short stay it did the job and met my criteria of being closet to the train station.

The property is within walking distance from Matsuyama castle and public transportation. It's also close to really great food options, with an Italian restaurant onsite. Parking is available onsite and has other parking locations close by if the onsite is full.

Staff is really friendly and actually helped me with my car rental car issues. The manager Kobayashi san went above and beyond by acting as a liaison, translating my car issues, with the car rental company to resolve the problem.

Super helpful staff spoke English and helped me with figuring out how to get to the airport as well as the location for a nearby bank and their hours. The room was better than I imagined, especially for the price. And the goodie bag for my very tired children were a really nice treat! We will definitely be back! P.s. It was a manageable walk from Matsuyama train station with suitcases.

A hotel with attention to detail and more

We stayed 3 nights at Mystays matsuyama. From the start, the room was spacious for Japanese standards and each amenity was thoughtfully placed and considered. The room was carefully prepared and the robe, bedding used high end cotton that made it so comfortable to sleep. The breakfast also gave representation to food in the region. We will definitely stay there again.

Wonderful stay

We had view of castle from our room. Matsuyama Castle was the best of all castles we visited. Layout of room was really practical and spacious, very comfortable. The location is convenient to tram station. 200 yen for tram every ride we used every day. Whole experience of Matsuyama was amazing and this hotel made it feel that way.
We booked early to get really good price.
Compare to similar priced hotels this place was the best. Laundry facility was convenient.

I loved the bed mattress! We have been traveling for a week and my back has been killing me…. After I woke up on this hotel bed, my back rested peacefully. The room was clean and the bathroom seemed updated beautifully. On the top of the stay the breakfast (with additional cost and a bit expensive) was WONDERFUL! There was a traditional dish, raw fish with rice which had equally good quality with the one we ate at the local restaurant on the day before.

Cost-performance hotel

Service was perfect and smooth, cleaning service was meticulous and quick.
The hotel although is very well kept it's clearly old and you can notice it at every step.
The matless was very hard and not particularly comfortable.
The relatively cheap pricing and the good location make up for the shortcomings.
I would stay here again.

Great view, nice comfortable, good service & attentive staff. I really appreciate how fast they responded and solved the issues. I’ll definitely come back and recommend to my friends & family. Only one thing I wish they could accommodate better. The restaurant we wanted to try for dinner was fully reserved for events two nights we stayed. Hope they can make some room for guests next time. Other than that we left satisfied.

立地、客室の広さやお風呂トイレなどは満足でした。
しかし全体的に古さが目立ちます。
部屋のソファのシミなど気になる点がありました。
布地を張り替えるなど対策を期待します。
電源も少なく
ベッドサイドには無かったのですが
延長コードが引き出しの中に入ってあり
とりあえずベッドサイドでスマホ充電は出来ました。
冷蔵庫の中に忘れ物をしたのですが、
翌日朝に電話したところ、処分したとのことでした。
ホテル側の話した感じではペットボトルだけの忘れ物で、一緒に入れていた未開封のお菓子の事にはふれられませんでした。
まあ、それなりのホテルなのかなと少し残念な感じです。

客室は清潔で、毎回松山旅行の定宿として利用させていただいています。JR松山も松山市駅も徒歩で行けますし、頑張れば大街道も徒歩で行けます(もちろん路面電車やバス停も近くにあります)。
今回は素泊まりでしたが、朝食ビュッフェも美味しく松山の名産品を食べられるのでオススメです！

個人的には喫煙の宿が少ないので、喫煙室があることも嬉しいです。スタッフさんの対応もよいのでまた、5月にお世話になります。

親戚に成人がいて、県外から祝いの為の宿泊でした。
平地駐車場のご協力、ご配慮、ありがとうございました。早朝４時から順番に着付けられた成人を迎えにいきロビーで写真を撮るためにご無理をお願いした次第です。おかげさまでロビー応接間前で写真を撮る事ができ良き思いでになりました。ありがとうございました。
朝食はご当地飯鯛めしで選べるタイプになっており、どれも美味しくいただけました。道後温泉街で頂く鯛めしよりもお安く美味しいと思いました。
