Standard business hotel-no frills. All Japanese language check in. Rooms are standard. Beds were a little hard but not bad. They are a little wider than a twin size but not quite a full size, so this is called “double size”.
The pillows are terrible! They extremely thin and flat. I went to the front desk and asked for another pillow. The staff said they would bring it up to my room, which they did about 10 minutes later. They brought a nice standard pillow that was bigger and fluffy. I would recommend asking for a big pillow at check in. The pillows in the room are a joke-more like a seat cushion, they are so flat and you only get one.

The hotel is generally an old Japanese business hotel. Leather couches at the front are partially ripped and very old interior. The hotel staff members are terribly trained and unfriendly, unlike usual Japanese hotels.

Next to the Castle and park, can enjoy a good walk there. There is a convenience store opposite to the hotel and it is a quiet and nice area, but it takes 15 minutes walk to the JR train station and 5 mins to the nearest local train station. The room is not too small compared to other Japanese hotels.

Really comfortable hotel with spacious room and good facilities. My room had a lovely view of the castle and moat, but the best thing of all was the fantastic selection of food at the buffet breakfast! Breakfast highly recommended. The hotel's decor is a little tired but that didn't detract from my stay. The only downside was that it was a good 20-30 minute walk to the city centre. However there is a supermarket and restaurants nearby and it is close to the JR station which was useful with heavy luggage!

APA Hotel Matsuyamajyo-Nishi looks beautiful on the outside and the lobby is really big and spacious. The hotel staff was also very friendly and was helpful in directing us around the area, such as going to the Dogo Onsen Honkan using the tram or by car. The room was also clean and the amneties were sufficient. All in all, a great experience and would stay here again if we were to come to Matsuyama.

Die Lage ist wirklich sehr gut. Der Park liegt direkt gegenüber, genau wie ein 7-Eleven. Der Bahnhof ist in ca. 20 Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Das Zimmer war zwar sauber aber alt. Im Bad war die obere Leiste abgeplatzt und der Toilettendeckel blieb nur schwer oben. Es gibt keine Klobürste. Die Klimaanlage funktioniert nicht. Es waren 26 Grad Celsius im Zimmer und als ich das Personal gebeten habe, mir mit der Anlage zu helfen, wurde mir gesagt, dass diese leider nicht richtig geht.
Das Personal kann nur sehr dürftig bis gar kein Englisch. Das macht die Kommunikation doch etwas schwierig. Es gibt nur 2 Waschmaschinen. Für die Größe des Hauses ist das etwas wenig. Allerdings sind sie nicht so teuer und haben gut funktioniert.
