This is a very solid Hotel for the price that you pay. It's not the cheapest. It's not the most expensive.

The rooms are quite small, but efficient. We first received a room that did not have a window facing the outside, but facing an interior air ventilation space. Fresh air, but no view.

They changed our room when we asked for it

There is sometimes coffee downstairs in the morning.

Every floor has a water system in the hallway to provide very hot water very cold water or room temperature water drinking water, of course so you can make your own tea in your room

All of the employees were helpful and courteous

There is always someone at the front desk, even late at night

This is my second time staying in this hotel and I will stay there again

Would not classify as a 3 star hotel

We’ve stayed in other 3 star hotels, and this one falls way behind. I wouldn’t even consider it in the same category.
There is absolutely NO air conditioning or any ventilation in the rooms. There’s a weak fan that didn’t do anything for us and the windows don’t open all the way. When we were there, the days were 80+ and the room was hotter inside than the actual outside.
Our sheets and pillows also smelled and we couldn’t stand them.
Unlike typical (3 star) hotels, there are NO irons, hair dryers, or mini fridges in the room. We had to chase down the irons and hair dryers — we even spent 3 days waiting for an iron. These amenities are all a given for any other stay.
The only bright side was the staff. They were all nice and understanding of our frustrations. It seems like they were similarly frustrated (with management).
There were multiple nights during our stay that we thought of moving to a new hotel, but it was too short notice to find another spot.
It was a very disappointing stay and I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone in the future.

From the moment I stepped in it is quite evident that the place is extremely well kept it was extremely clean and the rooms even more so I was there for 4 weeks and linens were changed very regularly towels daily and everything was always kept in Tip-Top shape the staff were friendly and welcoming and on every floor there were water purifier dispensers that dispense both cold and hot water and I drank it for 4 weeks and it was delicious the bed was comfy the Linens were clean and I will definitely be back to stay again

No sound proof. We couldn't sleep and ended up checking out early. You can hear all the noises from the street, people having sex (the wall shaking sound was the worst, felt like a construction site). Staff was careless, didn't ask why we checked out early. No AC or heater, the room is dirty and too small. The only good thing is its location which is close to everything.

I heard people having sex most nights. It didn't bother me but may bother some people.

# Positive:
Great location in Roma norte, close to Niños héroes subway station and to Chapultepec park (easy to go to Coyoacan, Centro historico and Central del norte). Felt safe to walk around at night.

# Negative:
The room was very hot even when it was cold outside, I would say about 20 F hotter. There was a fan but it was powerful and loud. The hotel is a little noisy but I was able to sleep fine.

We stayed for 6 days at Hotel Monarca on our first trip to CDMX. We were really happy with the location is close to everything if you are okay with walking. Is near lots of shopping and restaurants. Monarch is the best value in Roma Norte. Period.

Located next to the Sheraton, on the main Alvaro Obregon Blvd, the hotel is in the heart of Roma, walkable to all the iconic bars (Maximo, gin gin, 99) and top restaurants (cuina, rosetta, bou).

My room was spacious, clean, and outfitted with usb ports/led and a small but tidy bathroom. It is going to be noisy owing to the main street location. And while there’s a fan there’s no AC, which is fine considering all year mild climate.

For a 1000 mxp nothing comes close to it in terms of value.

This is a simple, basic hotel that we have stayed at a number of times. It is an excellent value--maybe the best in Roma Norte. The pros: it is very clean, has daily maid service, the bed is comfortable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water in the shower. Umbrellas and hair dryers are available from the front desk. The location is excellent, near many cafes, bars, and restaurants in beautiful Roma Norte, and is in a quieter area, just a block or two away from the more lively nightlife. The cons: The rooms are small, it can be (but not always) a little noisy at night with sound coming up the air shafts, it is not air-conditioned (although there are fans, and is usually not a problem with CDMX's great climate--cool at night and in the mornings,) and is very basic with no frills. Decor in rooms is dated. However, the rate is one of the best deals in Roma Norte, and if you're looking for a clean, comfortable room just to crash at night, this is the place! Be sure to eat breakfast at Ojo Rojo, an American style diner just a block east on Alvaron Obregon.

I really like this hotel and have stayed there a number of times. It is exceptionally clean (my top priority) and well-maintained, and the location can't be beat. AND, the value is one of the best deals in Roma Norte. That being said, I was particularly disappointed with this stay, because a hairdryer wasn't available the three times I requested one. Twice I was told that one would be delivered to my room as soon as one was turned in, but one never arrived. (Hairdryers are not kept in the rooms--you have to request one from the front desk, and I've never had a problem before.). The solution is simple--they simply need to buy one or two more!?

This is a basic hotel with small rooms and few amenities but A GREAT VALUE!! And a fantastic location!! It is spotlessly clean and well maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is surprisingly quiet at night despite being on the busy Avenida Alvaro Abregon in Colonia Roma, although we were in the back of the hotel (so can't speak to the rooms at the front.) We stayed there twice, and one room had a large bathroom, the other had a smaller one, but both were pristine. Daily housekeeping service with fresh sheets and towels was nice since we usually stay in \"home stays\" with no housekeeping service. GREAT water pressure in the shower and plenty of hot water! Bed was a little too firm for our liking, but is typical of Mexico hotel beds. Water dispensers provides filtered water on each floor (except for the 4th floor, for some reason? Just walk down one floor.) Ask the front desk for a hair dryer, if needed. Be sure to eat at Ojo Rojo Diner, one block east of the hotel (to the right as you walk out), an American-style diner with great breakfast and lunch food, and cocktails in the evening. This hotel is the best deal in the area if you're looking for a CLEAN place to just crash at night after being out and about all day. I highly recommend it.

We usually stay at a \"short term home stay\" when we travel to Mexico City, which we visit frequently. Because I waited until the last minute, there was nothing available, so we booked this hotel. It is a very basic hotel, with few amenities but immaculately clean (which is my top priority) and it's well maintained. The room was small but the bathroom large, and the shower had great water pressure and was instantaneously hot--rare in DCMX!! The location is fantastic, on the main street in Roma Norte, with tons of restaurants and bars nearby. Our room was immaculately clean and we had maid service every day--fresh clean sheets and towels, which you don't get at a \"home stay.\" The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you need a hairdryer ask for it at the front desk. Also, filtered water is available on each floor (except for the 4th floor, for some reason.) The only negative is that it is not air-conditioned, (which is generally not a big problem in Mexico City year round) but the air doesn't circulate very well even though there are openable windows and a fan. Be sure to eat at Ojo Rojo, an American style diner which is one block east, and serves cocktails all day. The pancakes are killer!
Overall this hotel is a fantastic value--on some nights it was only $40 US!!! (Rate varies by day of the week.) I highly recommend it if you want a bare basics but clean and comfortable hotel in a great location.

Besides that, the experience was mostly the same - it is a fairly good budget hotel in an amazing CDMX neighborhood. Lack of a shower curtain a little annoying. I don't understand how this hotel can be so great and yet charge so little. Bravo. For the stellar location in an upscale and popular Mexico City neighborhood (Roma), the price cannot be beat. The amount of value you get is just incredible. I was a bit skeptical at first because I figured there must be a catch, I expected the rooms to be dirty and infested with cockroaches, but the facilities were actually really nice and clean. There was daily housekeeping service. The room had a large sized PIN code safe for storing valuables, a large and comfortable bed, a desk and chair for working. The wifi was stable. I would rate this hotel a perfect 10, I'll definitely be coming back.

El personal del hotel es increíble, muy educados y muy serviciales.

Lo malo son las habitaciones, son MUY calientes, de verdad el interior de la habitación probablemente estaba a 30 o 35 grados, como si estuvieras en Monterrey en el verano.
Es imposible dormir con esa temperatura en el cuarto, hay un ventilador de piso de esos en forma de torre muy bonitos, pero incluso en la más mínima velocidad hacen muchísimo ruido, entonces tampoco se puede dormir con el ruidaso del ventilador. Tu última opción es abrir la ventana, pero solo se abren muy poco, no se abren lo suficiente como para que entre el fresco de afuera pero si lo suficiente como para que entre todo el ruido de los carros de Álvaro Obregon e incluso hasta el cuarto piso se llega a oír el ruido de las conversaciones de la gente.
El área de la regadera es muy peligrosa porque es muy resbaladizo el piso con el agua que salpica mientras te estás bañando, se necesita un piso menos resbaladizo o algunas de esas cosas antiderrapantes que se pegan en el piso, en verdad una pista de hielo a la hora de que se moja el piso.
Quisiera poder recomendar el hotel pero no puedo, si le llegan a poner aire acondicionado a las habitaciones y algo antiderrapante en el aérea del baño sería un excelente hotel.

When I arrived the front desk person did not speak any, not one key word having to do with check in, English at all. I recall seeing “we speak English” on their property info.
Then said non english speaking person gave me a stuffy small back of hotel room. Smelled cigarette smoke from somewhere. Floors not clean, mirrors dirty, someone left their socks under bed half sticking out.

Also when I tried to book a tour it took about 4 employees an hour to understand, even with pointing to brochure and saying key Spanish words!!! One person who spoke a little English said she’d call me to confirm the tour (which I do not recommend as they take you to local stores for too long and hope you spend your money)and never did.

The hotel is in a decent location and kept up well overall.

Whilst I was staying here the entire time there was a couple having sex extremely loud. The lady was moaning so loud that after I asked to be moved to a new room the next morning after my partner and I got maybe 2 hours sleep total. We shifted up 3 levels to try and get a quieter room location. We could still here them the following day and night. The hotel seemed to condone there behaviour even tho it was awkward and extremely painful to listen to the entire time. The rooms were paper thin and staff were noisey all night in the corridors up until maybe 5am. We spent 2 days in Mexico City and we were too tired to enjoy it properly, but bravo to the couple!

We found the staff very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. The location is ideal for what we needed allowing us to walk to most of our events. The Metro is also within walking distance and got us to more distant places. The price was reasonable for what is provided. I would recommend staying at Capital O Monarca for those on a limited budget and who which to be located to near good and great restaurants.
