This is a beautifully restored hotel placed in an old historical building that used to be connected with the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The adjacent spa with saunas, jacuzzi and a sizeable pool is a wonderful addition. Clean, cozy, quiet with a lot of character. The location is great and the staff is friendly.

Hotel is beautiful, location great but there were too many flaws which will not have us returning for our frequent trips back home to PL.
- First and foremost, booked this non-smoking room with a balcony, neighbor was a chain smoker so entire stay we breathed second hand smoke morning and night - front desk was aware & told us guest was leaving soon, didn't matter because the next neighbor over also smoked. Entire room/carpet/drapes smell like smoke suggesting previous guests smoked as well.
- Railroad behind was very loud until 11pm
- Restaurant below this 'luxury room' is extremely loud, music playing nightly until 10-11pm. Staff aware.

It is a typical 'old' Polish atmosphere. Make it a bit more cosy. The pizza's are good. But the rest of the menu can use a bit of a face lift to make it more attractive. Most people i saw were eating pizza ;-)

We really enjoyed our stay at Turowka.
Room was clean and spacious. We were bit surprised that there was no curtain or blinds on the window but mayne it motivated us to get up early. Spa treatment was fantastic. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Massive highlight was the food at the restaurant. Whatever we ordered was delicious. Salmon, Steak, duck dumplings, pizza and great variety on breakfast buffet. Thank you so much for everything.

We traveled with 2 toddlers.. it was not easy but they made the experience amazing! They had the cribs ready before we even arrived! The room was very big and clean. The staff was very friendly and so understanding about the little people. Ohhh and i must mention the bed!!! It was made of the softest sheets i have ever slept on. With the perfect firmness. I highly suggest you stay here!

Fairly small hotel close to a railway station with two trains an hour to Krakow and the airport, very close to the salt mine visitor attraction.

Excellent cafe / restaurant with good variety on menu and good prices.

Lovely little swimming pool with sauna / steam room / salt room.

This is an excellent hotel, with friendly helpful staff. The rooms are large, clean and with comfy beds, although the pillows are rather odd and could be improved upon.

Good sized bathroom with large enclosed shower with hairdryer and toiletries provided.

Plenty of parking, very accessible if driving from the Airport, just a few minutes walk from the Salt Mine too.

The swimming pool and jacuzzi was superb, but sadly we didn't get a chance to test the sauna.

The breakfast was extensive and all very tasty although a few more cereal options would have been nice.

We dined in on one occasion and the Pork Medallions were excellent as was my Beef Burger.

The area around the hotel was very quiet and safe and there is a 24 hour McDonalds which we needed arriving late on a Sunday night.

Overall, an excellent choice of hotel and one that I would happily recommend without question.

Faultless - Wonderful stay

Excellent location for Salt mine tours, small but lovely spa.
Immaculately clean, friendly staff who are all very accommodating to requests . Food was delicious. Beds comfy - nice balcony.
Yes it is out of Krakow but there are trains and Ubers were only £8
Overall Excellent value for money hotel.

Upon arrival we were captured by the elegance of this regal building.The room large and surrounded by quality wood furnishings Really enjoyed sitting in the comfortable robes while having morning coffee in the room.
The pool and spa were amazing. The water temperature was welcoming, the pool jets relieved tension, the salt relaxing room was unique and a great spa bonus. Sauna and
steam rooms created the perfect relaxation.
Located within easy walking distance to the salt mine.
We would highly recommend this hotel- a great value as well!

The hotel was beautiful, situated in a scenic part of town and close to the train station, bus stop, shops and salt mine. The staff were always helpful and available and spoke English which was a plus. The room was lovely and had all the expected amenities, you need to request an iron if you want one but it was no problem to get. The breakfast was fantastic and had lots of different options to suit different tastes. I didn't get a chance to use the spa facilities as I was busy during my stay but it was a huge plus to have them available.

We were looking for a relaxing long weekend at the start of November and got exactly that. Word of caution, the train is every hour which can be an issue. An Uber ranged from 25-50 zl which is cheap enough that perhaps it isn't too much of a problem

Lovely hotel, classic building set on a nice paved footpath between 2 local stations and opposite parkland. I had the small pool and jacuzzi area to myself in the afternoon which was very relaxing. Robes & slippers as well as 3 chairs in the large bedroom were appreciated. Good choice on buffet breakfast, though lacking in teaspoons for the small treats! Great base for saltmine but also for a more peaceful break just 20 minutes out of Krakow (for less than £1 train fair per person)

We chose this hotel for being in walking distance to the famous saltmine trips, but actually it was so good and accessible to Krakow city centre by train that we wish we had stayed the whole Krakow trip here. Lovely, helpful staff who responded to our enquiries swiftly both before and during our stay. The pool and hot-tub plus spa facilities (good facial on offer) were excellent.

Wifi does not work unless outside. Also where the coffee maker and hot water per player stands there is no electrical outlet so you have to plug it near a dresser ; the closest place near an electrical outlet. Close to the train station however.

Lovely hotel sited within a 10 min walk from the main centre, excellent welcome and a fabulous buffet breakfast catering for everyone's tastes, could not fault the cleanliness of the hotel and attention from all the staff. Comfortable room with plenty of storage and good size bathroom. The swimming pool was a welcome extra on the not so good weather days. A very quiet location ,with lovely well kept gardens. Perfectly sited for a visit to the salt mines or to jump on the train and be in Krakow centre in just over 20 mins ( 7 zloty for 2 each way)or around 50 mins direct into the airport ( 25 zloty for 2 one way ) cannot wait to return please don't change a thing !! Simply a wonderful place.

Room was 50% more expensive than our room in Krakow and not any better. The hotel is fine, a bit soulless and a bit bling in a last-days-of-the-Celtic-Tiger way. Restaurant dinner overpriced and mediocre compared to Krakow, and fruit at breakfast was well past its prime. Hotel has very good access to train (on line to airport) and is very close to salt mine, but is in a nowhere zone at the outskirts of Wieliezca.

What a happy surprise!

It was a surprise that this hotel was so lovely--for the price, especially. I was only staying here because it seemed nice enough for a one-night stop to pick up my fella from the nearish Krakow airport, but it would have been worth a longer stay, for sure.

It has a kinda old-world thing going on, with big private balconies and lots of burgundy and lots of dark wood, but the pool and soaking tub is in a very shiny, fetchingly designed new building.

The staff is young, vibrant and all about helping out. I asked different desk staffers for very different things, and each went out of their way to accommodate.

The short walk to the salt mine, too, was a delight...as was running and slacklining with locals in the park that adjoins the hotel property.

Fair price, great facilities and friendly staff!

We were in Poland for 4 days as a part of celebrating a friend's wedding on one of the days. We had a few loose plans and had booked this hotel to ensure we had somewhere planned for us to stay on the first night. We enjoyed Krakow in the day and checked into the Turowka Hotel in the evening. The staff were so nice, the rooms were great, facilities were brilliant and the food delicious. We were made to feel right at home. The hotel had a fantastic feel to it. There were enough people about to make it feel lively but not so many that you were waiting ages for meals, lifts, pool space etc. I was very impressed from start to finish and will definitely be back if and when I next return to Krakow. Thanks to the team at Turowka Hotel and Spa for a lovely stay.

Surprise gem,more than I expected!

This is a beautiful hotel and sooo under rated! I'm afraid we only stayed 1 night and didn't use any of the spa/pool services, but the rooms and dining experience were wonderful. It is also conveniently located (short walk 2 blocks) near the Wieleczka Salt Mine and they purchased our tickets for us to secure a tour time. The staff was exceptional. This is a lovely town and the hotel is well kept with beautiful grounds. We had a gourmet dinner and the large breakfast buffet was included with your stay. A true gem in this nice town!

8 min walk from the salt mine

Loved it!from the minute you drive up to the hotel, your in love... it is gorgeous, elegant and the staff is wonderful! I was greeted as I came in through the door, it took 3 min to check in and get the room key. Loved the room and the beds were super comfy, I think it was a memory foam type bed... fell asleep like a baby... next morning went down for breakfast and it was amazing, the buffet had such an array of foods and drinks there is something for everyone to enjoy here... didn't use the pool but it was beautiful. I love this hotel and highly recommend it!

Quiet hotel. Easy to get to town.

We stayed here for a week. There were two adults and our 15 year old daughter. We had a room with three beds in. We enjoyed our stay here which had breakfast included. The breakfast was very good. It included cereals, cold meats, cheese, salad, sausages, bacon, egg, a good selection of breads and was always well stocked. We used the pool and jacuzzi most days. The pool could have done with being slightly warmer. The changing rooms were kept clean. The hotel was very quiet especially after 10pm so we never had trouble sleeping. The room was big and comfortable and included coffee making facilities (no milk though). We loved the position of the hotel as the train station was at most a ten minute walk. The trains are every 30mins until about 9pm when they are every hour. Each journey cost us about £1.40 for all three of us. You can pay at a machine on the station or on the train. Krakow station is very nice and goes straight into a new shopping centre. The hotel is also a ten minute walk from the Saltmines which we did visit.

Nice hotel...but not the best start

Overall a lovely stay at this hotel. Unfortunately the check in experience was a bad start. A large group had obviously checked out late so we were just told with a shrug that check in wasn't until 2. So we just had to wait a couple of hours. No apology, no 'welcome, here's the bar' or suggestions as to where we could leave the bags and what we could do to fill the time.
Having said that, the majority of the staff were pleasant and helpful for the rest of our stay.
A word of advise, the burger on the bar menu is great but the ham and cheese toastie is very disappointing, just one round of bread!

Nice stay in a quiet location

Nice hotel in a quiet location with an easy train ride into Kraków. They serve a great breakfast, The pool and hot tub are very nice and we ate in the restaurant twice and had drinks at the bar once. All were very nice and the price is what you would expect. Only negatives were: They play music throughout the building 24/7. A speaker must have been near our room because I had to ask them to turn it down 3 out of 4 nights. Which they did without hesitation. Second issue is that they did not provide the normal toiletries. That is no shampoo other than a bottle of liquid soap on the shower wall, no conditioner or lotion and no tissues.

Hotel close to train station and only 25 minutes by train from Kraków main station. Trains are every 30 min and I think it's better to stay in Wieliczka than Kraków. Close to salt mine. Hotel comfortable but room service just OK (glasses have to wash by myself....) just acceptable in 4 stars hotel.... Very good breakfast and friendly staff, for sure will stay next time!

Very convenient to the salt mine. This hotel is beautiful inside from the woodwork to the pool and spa area. The only thing US travelers should know is that the hot tube is only really lukewarm. Otherwise this is a luxuriously comfortable place to stay for an affordable rate.

A 4 star hotel which should be 5 star

This outstanding hotel is situated with 7 minutes walking distance of the famous Wieliczka Salt Mine. It was the base camp for the Italian National Football team in the Euro 2012 tournament. It has excellent transport links with Krakow, the train station is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel and you can be in the centre of Krakow within 15 minutes. The hotel is a great base for visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau. The staff are really friendly and helpful, I have stayed in many 4 star hotels at double the price and I can honestly say that this hotel is truly outstanding.

Not really what expected.

First of all, if you market the \"SPA\" facility with therapy, it is pretty disappointing to discover that massage was not available during your stay!
Then, breakfast is pretty low quality. Coffee is orrible, if you ask for a Cappuccino you have to pay 9zlote and the Capuccino is also orrible. Sausage come from supermarkets (found a little bone in one!).
Bathroom: you would expect a decent shower room instead of an uncomfortable little bath with shower, with water going everywhere in the toilet.

We were two families with 2 children each and stayed over the new year here for a week. Typically expectations are low and we take it as it goes. But thanks to the hotel staff and expecially the travel guide and concierge Lukas this turned out to be a memorable holiday. We got transportatition at reasonable prices at flexible times. We got a lot of insight into the history culture, modern Poland and in particluar Krakow. In fact our impression about Poland and Krakow in particluar changed positively during the trip - strongly worth a visit. We also had a great New Year eve - the new year party at the market square was impressive and a great atmosphere.Through Lukas and other staff we were offerred flexible sight seeing options and help for city tours, restaurants and believe me even for dentists since we ran into a issue. The spa and the pool were great and the family had a great time together. The wireless system had some issue during our stay. The restaurant - although was good could extend its offerring and imagination. Despite these smaller points,we would definitely come back here and reccomend this hotel.

My sister and I went to stay there for a weekend to get away. We went to visit Krakow and Wielczka salt mine.The hotel has very nice location , close to bus stop to go Krakow. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated. We really enjoy swimming pool and spa and excellent breakfast on the morning. We liked their bar for morning coffee and restaurant for delicious dinner. The spa service is was rejuvenating Excellent stay

Turowka stay

Our stay was wonderful, they have an excellent staff that will help in any way they can. The spa was absolutely amazing although we were not planning on using it at first because we were on a trip to visit Auschwitz and due to the ratings of this hotel we stayed there. It was better than others had stated. The salt mines are a stones throw from there, and the town is wonderful. The hotel staff took my husband and I all over the place to visit various sites so we never got lost, and it was cheaper than paying for a taxi when you don't speak Polish. I would recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying in the area.

Excellent hotel in a great location

The hotel is within a short walking distance of the entrance to the salt mine. Bus to Krakow is just outside the hotel and the return stop across the street. Easy drive to Wadowice. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and made very good suggestions about local attractions and Krakow The restaurant is very good and the breakfast buffet among the best in Poland. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone..

A well situated hotel 10 minutes from town centre

Hotel was lovely and previously hosted Italian Euro 2012 team. Breakfasts huge, staff very friendly and attentive. Spa was small but had excellent amenities. Rooms clean, impressive and fully air conditioned. The hotel was just a ten minute walk to the town centre and the same distance to the salt mine - a must see for visitors. Train to Kracow just a ten minute walk and only 80p. Buses very regular and the same price. Town much cheaper than Kracow and hotel organised any visit you required. Spa was excellent with a massage for around £20 - all in all excellent value and worth another visit

Beautiful hotel

We stayed for three days in this hotel. It is very beautiful, quaint and cozy! The buffet breakfast was outstanding with lots of fresh choices. Everything in the hotel was outstanding! The doors and windows are very thick so the noise level is almost non-existent. It felt truly relaxing. The only complaint would be lack of air conditioning. We stayed in the month of August and it was extremely hot. Although the hotel staff says there is air condition, it did not work at all the first night. We had to switch rooms. Then in our new room it only worked for the first day. It felt more like a fan than a true air conditioner. Also, the wi-fi worked well only in the downstairs lobby. However, if you hook up your computer with an ethernet cable provided by the hotel, it works really well. There was a railroad right next to the hotel, but we didn't hear any noise due to the great soundproofing quality of the building.

Based on photos of from expedia, did not expect to be good hotel but once arrived I was suprized by the elegant hotel interior as well as room it self. Wish had few more days to stay! If i come back I will come back!

good location

We had good stay only problem was AC in the room was not functioning properly. One of the receptionist was very rude and tried to tell us that he can not do anything as he felt that his system was showing that there was nothing wrong and told us that he can not change the room claiming the hotel was full. But interestingly another receptionist intervened and changed the room after that there was no problem. Barring this gentleman every body was very nice and helpful.

Fabulous hotel and terrific staff

It could not have been better. The town of Wieliczka is charming and very hospitable. The Turowka Hotel and Spa was one of the nicest accommodations that we have had on our trip thru Europe. We cannot praise the hotel and staff enough. Lucas is one of the best tour guides, his shared knowledge of the history of Poland, the restaurants and museums that he suggested were fabulous. Thank you Turowka Hotel and Staff!

Excellent, almost luxury hotel in classic building

What a pleasure! Once I found it (the sign is small) it was everything I like in a hotel: fine, clean free parking, beautiful old building, welcome and helpful reception, large enough and well maintained rooms, good food in the restaurant, and a good swimming pool (but the sauna costs extra).
The location is near the Wielicka salt mine, and the building many years ago was the salt mine offices. Now it is an almost luxury hotel, with a terrace off the restaurant and gardens. It is right next to the railroad, but it is a branch line with no night traffic. It was 15 minutes by car into Krakow.
The rooms were well furnished (solid wood furniture), decently large (especially the corner rooms), with bright shower and toilet room.
The restaurant is open late enough, and the food was well made and reasonably priced for this quality (table cloths, cloth serviettes, decent tableware, good service, etc.) The buffet breakfast served in the restaurant is bountiful and a pleasure as well.
The internet WiFi worked perfectly every time.

Wieliczka Turowka hotel February 2013, 3 nights

Medium sized hotel in a small town just outside of Krakow, direct fast and efficient and cheap direct bus to Krakow and its old town, only problem is the bus can get very crowded
Hotel located about a 10 minute walk from Wieliczka Salt mine, which is an amazing attraction and a must see, biggest tourist attraction in Poland(these words are written by someone who lived 17 years in Poland)
The room we got was really big, they call it VIP/Family room, down sides are weak but free wifi in room, lift only goes to second floor(room was on third), breakfast was very good, staff helpful, the italian football team chose this hotel o stay in during Euro 2012, which is always a good sign, the price was attractive in comparison with Krakow hotels, however of you intend to spend more than two nights I would probably suggest a closer hotel to the old town instead
Last but not least have to mention a very nice spa with best lockers

Very enjoyable

The hotel is right outside Krakow, about a 2-minute drive from the Salt Mine. My absolute ONLY complaint would be regarding the mattress in the master bedroom. We stayed in a family room and my daughter's bed was far more comfortable than the master bedroom's bed. We did use the hotel's babysitter service for our outting to Auschwitz and Auschwitz-Birkenau. Eva, our daughter's sitter, was phenomenal (the rate was very decent as well).

The Hotel is a 30min bus ride from the centre of Krakow, but the bus was frequent and stopped right outside, and cost peanuts.

The Highlight Hotel in our Trip!

We spent 3 days in Krakow and spent only 1 night at the Turowka Hotel and Spa. If we knew how wonderful this hotel was we would have stayed 3 nights!! We booked mainly to be close to the Salt Mine. But to our discovery they have a fabulous Spa of which I took full advantage of! The staff Gabriela and Iwonka where professional and I felt so pampered! Now to mention the restaurant and service! Conrad was the waiter on staff we had the most delicious dinner I had the Fish he recommend my husband and 2 other traveling companions were also pleased. We visited the Salt Mine the next day and returned back to The Turkowka before our trip back to Krakow for lunch. Conrad again was the waiter Superb Service & a wonderful menu. Will add photos to Tripadvisor
