I don’t usually bother writing travel reviews, but I felt the need to say just how excellent my stay at Noordin Mews was. Very charming! The service was above and beyond! Every staff member was personable and attentive. The room was also spacious and very comfortable. The pool was a bit small but I still happily used it daily (as it is HOT in December). The location feels a little isolated, but I never felt unsafe as a solo traveler and it’s only 10-15 minutes walk to the touristy areas. George Town is exploding with incredible food, so honestly the walk home after meals was preferred even in the heat. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a wonderful boutique experience.

A very charming property that is just a short walk to the centre of Georgetown. Service was excellent from the moment we arrived until we left. We especially enjoyed the pool and the tasty breakfasts. We stayed in the Sultan Suite which was perfect for our family of 4. We loved Georgetown - and Penang more generally - and if we return we would book to stay at Noordin Mews again without hesitation.

What an incredibly wonderful experience! This is a charming little hideaway tucked away in historic George Town. The space is very special and retains the beauty of a restored shophouse space with clean, minimalist touches. The real beauty of this place though is the incredible dedication and hospitality of the staff who bent over backwards to do what they could to make my stay enjoyable! First rate housekeeping and a lovely breakfast. Will definitely be back!

Excellent welcome from the staff, shout out to Yun Li for going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and knowledgeable about traversing through Penang. She had a lot of great advice and was able to get us restaurant reservations on short notice. The service at Noordin Mews was superb. The doors are quirky though, watch your fingers opening and closing them!

There's a public shower and washroom which we were told we could use after we checked out and before we flew out.

Overall a positive experience here, especially with the pets that are also welcome at the hotel.

Amazing memories for Luci, Yoda & Tigger

It was an amazing stay for us -- 3 families with our furkids -- Luci, Yoda & Tigger. They got to chill at the cafe while we enjoying the local dishes -- char kuoy teow, curry mee, asam laksa, nyonya kuih etc. The hotel allowed us to grab our favourite food & the team (Anung, Azman, Yun Jie etc ) would unpack & served it.

Belinda & Mei are very resourceful and always made our wishes came true. Wonderful ladies and leading the team with excellence service.

We took the kids to the beach (a bar recommended by Belinda) for the sand, ocean smell, sea water, breeze, wave splashing on their cutie faces --- just simply wonderful.

We already planned to come back for another trip.

Thanks Noordin Mews for making our stay FABULOUS!!!

It is very cosy, I counted 15 units and is easy for guests n staffs to interact.staffs fulfilled our request for ground floor unit with access to pool & allocate unit 'E' for us. The easy access to pool & lounge were great, and unit was cosy. Location to around places were well reached.

This is a great hotel, given how old it is, it is kept really clean. We stayed in one of the larger rooms with 2 king size beds, this room was very comfortable with a near new bathroom. The other shared facilities are also well kept, there is a nice seating area with some books and games, and the small pool is very refreshing to cool off in the afternoon. It is so nice to stay in a heritage place with character.
Breakfast is nice, a bit limited for variety but the Nasi Lemak I had at the hotel one morning was as good as any I have ever had,
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and happy to give advice on where to go to eat or things to do.
The location is great, whilst it is just outside the heritage city centre it is only a short walk away, with the Komtar bus terminal around the corner if going further afield. I would highly recommend using the local buses, you see so much more than when you just use grab cars all the time.
Would recommend this hotel highly, and would stay again if I went back to George Town.

A lovely Peranakan-style hotel in which you can relax in. Staff are very attentive & courteous. Upon check-in, welcome drinks & freshly-cut local fruits are served. Complimentary coffee/tea & snacks are served during teatime. Room with attached bathroom is neat & clean.

Great old world feel with mod cons

We stayed 3 night the staff were very good and helpful the room was good but not so keen on the shape as you could not watch tv in bed .Breakfast was good with a few nice choices, the pool was good to cool of after the heat of the day, bed was firm otherwise a very enjoyable stay great near the shopping centres and bus station where you can get free buses around the town area great eating as well.

Everything is good about this hotel. The only problem is the limited car park slot (2 only) and unstable air conditioning (cold and warm even with same setting at different timing). Wifi is not stable as well. Hotel staffs are extremely friendly and helpful.

Beautiful historical boutique hotel

Enjoyed my stay in Noordin Mews. Hotel is well designed. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Pool is great especially after a long and hot day of sightseeing. Staff is passionate about their jobs and most helpful. Located 5-10 min walking distance away from George Town, the location is ideal as it is away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Nothing but love for Noordin Mews!

Stayed three nights with husband and two small children. NM is so beautifully designed and with so much attention to detail. Our room even smelled great the entire time we were there (lavender/rose -ish). It was lovely! Kids really enjoyed the pool and being able to take a dip before breakfast or for a quick night swim before bed. Breakfast is good as well. Staff very friendly. My kids loved Daisy, Mei, and all of the other staff. Staff was also helpful in recommending places to eat, arranging taxis, etc.

Stylish retreat in historic Georgetown

Pros: Nicely renovated old Chinese style guest house with a cute pool in the courtyard area, lots of characters, very friendly and helpful staff, spacious and very clean rooms (they get cleaned twice a day), good location just outside of the Georgetown UNESCO area, lots of shops and eateries nearby.

Cons: Breakfast was good but somewhat limited, small common area so if the other guests or their children are noisy it could ruin the peacefulness of your stay, the pool is small and no one showers before using it.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Service was excellent, however the interior of the room was a little cold and could be improved. The breakfast was not great and would suggest more options for local cuisines. The pool also needed cleaning. Overall it was not a pleasant stay, and we much preferred Muntri Mews (which we stayed 3 years ago).

Really enjoyed my stay here at the hotel. All the staffs were very warm and paid attention to details. Special thanks to Daisy, Evangeline, Girlie, Kar Ve and Belinda. You guys are awesome. My husband who was initially not impressed because the hotel does not have the usual amenities(gym, spa etc) was eventually won over because of the staff's 5* hospitality.

Stylish boutique hotel

This hotel is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. It is the stylish, unique features and little touches here and there that really make is special. The staff were incredibly knowledgable, helpful and friendly throughout our stay and provided us with excellent recommendations for food. Every restaurant, hawker stall, cafe and eatery we visited was super tasty and fun. It's short walk to the heart of Georgetown and the road are slightly tricky to cross but that's not their fault! I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know as somewhere that's classy, relaxed, stylish and very reasonable in price. Absolutely loved it!

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly - you almost felt like you came home to big happy family. I especially commend the girls on the front desk - Belinda, Daisy and Mei who were all very helpful and patiently explained the different food spots and tourist sites.
The breakfast was good and we even got afternoon tea every afternoon. The first afternoon we were there, we even got afternoon tea past the time it was meant to finish.
The treats that were left for us ever night was very thoughtful and a pleasant surprise for us each night.
We met my cousin and her daughter there so my daughter could hang out with her cousin. The girls really enjoyed the pool and being a small hotel, we felt that the girls were always within our sight and so it was perfect.
The surrounding area is the hotspot for food. We really enjoyed the food hunting.

Great Hotel away from Home

Our family enjoyed our recent stay at Noordin Mews. The room is clean & comfortable and we like the decor too. Only that there's no telephone inside the room but wifi is strong. We enjoyed the hotel breakfast (hot and yummy) cos it's prepared upon ordering. Location wise, it's closed to the shopping malls and Komtar. Special thanks to friendly & helpful hotel staff (Daisy & Belinda) for providing information on sight-seeing, food, direction, etc.
Do request for ground level if you've old folk as it's a 2-storey building w/o lift. Their staff is always there to help if you need assistance to carry your bag, etc.
Although the surrounding may look a bit run-down, the hotel is very comfortable. Will definitely stay there if going to Penang again. Thank you!

Service was fantastic: a very warm welcome, and great introduction to nearby attractions, eateries, and transportation. Definitely with a smile. Room was comfortable, though odd not to have a shower curtain. Duvet could have been thicker too - but I understand Penang is a hot place (I was not cold, I just prefer thicker bedding for comfort). Otherwise, room was great and for this price point was surprised to have a tablet espresso machine. Room was spacious, and decor much more stylish than your bog standard 4-star. Apparently this hotel was originally refurbished by the same people who now run the Seven Terraces - and overall style is very fitting for Penang. Location close to the 1st Avenue Mall and Komtar Hotel (where the airport busses run) ; but a good 20mins walk away from the Armenian Street area.

Fantastic! The staff were great especially the front office who were so helpful with suggestions for sightseeing and where to eat. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfasts were really good - a great way to start the day. Afternoons by the pool were perfect, and so was the afternoon tea with delicious cake. Peace in Penang for weary traveller.

Stopped enroute from Singapore to Butterworth to Kota Bharu. Needed a night sleep after 14 hour train journey.
I arrived after 23:00 in the dark and was welcomed and orientated.
Next morning met Mae and lovely staff. All questions answered, taxi booked and even snack provided for next leg of my journey. Would like to have stayed longer. Will return. Thank you Mae and all staff

Lovely heritage hotel with friendly staff

The hotel is located on the fringe of Georgetown, and only a 10-min walk to the bus terminal at Komtar. The facade of the hotel was very unassuming, but when I opened the doors to the reception area, it felt like I had stepped into someone's tastefully furnished home, where I was greeted by 2 friendly and smiling Front Desk ladies.

My 1st room (Rm F) was at the back end of the compound. It has a long-ish layout, and a dimly-lit bathroom, but the reason I asked to change room was that it was too near the kitchen which began operations at 7am (not so good for light sleepers like me). The manager, a very obliging and helpful Sherry changed me to Rm C, which had a better layout with a slightly better lit bathroom (although I wasn't too keen on the platform bed). As it's an enclosed compound, noises travel everywhere so it's best to bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper or late riser.

I loved the lap pool (there're no sunbeds, but steps in the pool you can sit on to enjoy the rays), and especially the dining area next to the pool where I spent the hot afternoons just chilling out with my laptop & magazines.

I never managed to wake up early enough for the complimentary b'fast (8-10am) but the a la carte menu looked inviting.

The Front Desk and back office staff were very friendly and helpful, and were obliging with my every request, for which I'm so grateful. A big thank you to Belinda, Sherry, and the Front Desk ladies, and of course, Anung in the kitchen.
