The room was clean. The only thing that I wasn't happy about is the bed. It was too hard and the pillow was extremely soft. I was unable to sleep. But other than that, it was a good stay.

Good location with delicious food around

Location is very good, near to komtar. The new lane food street is jusr a street away with lots of famous street foods. Many food courts along the main streers too. Only that the towels used in the hotel is not absorbent. No toothbrush is supplied.

Cheap and got a lot street food

hotel it's ok for sleep room quiet small but bed still comfortable . aircon was cool you don't need to worry (sometimes it's too cool i think lol) this is not first time for me here . wifi was changed last time too slow now wifi is faster than before . around hotel got a lot thing for you to eat .

Budget lodging with minimal amenities.

Good reception staff, close to Georgetown sites by walking and close to transit hub. However, no cable tv, no face towels, or face soap; room cleaned only if card placed on door handle to request it. Small room, size of a cruise ship cabin. It was annoying that staff would knock on door in the mid afternoon to ask if there is any garbage needing to be disposed.

Excellent value hotel in good location

The hotel is great value. Room was well equipped, clean and in good condition. We booked a room with a window which was worth the extra money. Hotel location is fairly good, a bit of a walk to the historic centre of town, but there is a good bus service and malls / restaurants nearby.

A reasonably new hotel. Room is compact but fine. It's clean. Bed is firm. Location near to food and shops and within walking distance to a number of tourist destinations. I booked the room for 2 persons but only one toothbrush given. I asked Housekeeping and they say only one is given and if needed extra to request from Reception. Also noted no soap provided. Again asked Housekeeping they do not seem to know what I am talking about. Asked reception, they confirmed no soap provided so you need to bring your own soap or wash with either shampoo or body wash.

For it's cheap pricing per night, it offers just the right basic necessities for those who are not that picky. Besides that the only less comfortable experience is the room size and probably having 2 chairs instead of 1 would be good as well. Cleaniness is decent and acceptable. Bed is comfortable

Nicely maintain hotel with clean comfortable room. Great shower with strong pressure. Evening turndown service available as well. Quiet but conveniently located just off the main Macalister road with good food nearby walking distance. In fact walking distance to few shopping centers ie KOMTAR, Prangin Mall, First Avenue, Times Square, etc & also Georgetown major tourist attraction. Only gripe is the not so fast wifi.

quite and calm hotel..

ive been here for 4th time and the hotel is very simple but satisfy. All the basic needs you can get there..Also its a walking distance to go anywhere around the town. The service is very good as i get upgrade to the bigger room.Nice stay and enjoy it eventhough my stay is just for overnight.

Perfectly clean and in tip top condition. Good location. Book early to enjoy great rate. Yes, I rate it overall 4 out of 5 for unrated hotel.

Observations: Cold air conditioning in the room. Basic toiletries except body lotion, cotton tabs, face tissues and comb. Small room but good enough for 2 persons.

Front counter staff were welcoming and overall stay at the Heliconia was pleasant.

The room is very comfortable. The location is good. But, we felt hot because the air conditioner might have some problems during that night. Limited private parking lots but they will help us to find a parking lot at nearby if the private parking lots full. Still will consider to come back to this hotel next time! :)

The place got good location. Walking distance to komtar, new lane food hawker stalls, times square and etc. It is just beside the hotel sentral georgetown which you can use to direct the car or cab for easier journey. The room is very quaint and neat. No breakfast though. They cleaned the room without replacing or cleaning the cups. No fridge provided. The reception is on the 1st floor so you need to take the lift or stairs to get to it as the ground floor is for parking. Overall, it is a good place and would consider to come back here.

Air conditioner problem

I booked two rooms. I was given two rooms on the same floor above the reception floor.
Two of these rooms had air conditioning problem that is both rooms were not cool at all.
Later I found out another guest on same floor had the same problem as my two rooms. The technician came but the problem persisted. Finally I told hotel that I needed to check out one of the room as it was too hot and unbearable.
Only then the hotel decided to let me have another room.
Question is how they could sell the rooms( whole floor) air condition not working properly.
The second night the air con was in order..
We suffered the first night on the two rooms

Stayed in Roo 507, many small ants on table. TV channels reception are bad. Walking distance to Komtar at Jalan Keng Kwee (Famous Teow Chew Chendol). Move around with Uber/Grab or car would be easier.

The hotel was perfect for everything. When you're hungry at night you can just go out and tada food market! Restaurants everywhere! 1-2hrs walk from Chulia St, Armenian St, basically to almost all attractions. Areas that needs to be improved: bathroom and tv. Bathroom needs to have a anti slip mat as it slippery. Tv channels is limited. But overall it was great.

Hotel is generally great. There is a night market just 2 minutes walk away. It is near to most of the locations we wanted to see. Room was clean. Generally, quite quiet at night, or maybe because we were staying at the last room. However, like all other reviews have stated, there really should be a door between shower area and rest of toilet. Other than that, we are very pleased with the stay. Hotel staff was friendly too.

The glass panel separating the bath area and the toilet should have another swing glass panel to close up the area so that water cannot be splashed out to the toilet area and wet the whole area. It gets slippery for the feet, if one uses the sink for washing hands, etc.

A disappointed stay

I booked a room with window. However the window in room is facing the inner walkway, of the hotel with people passing by. It's different from what is shown from the picture. There was no privacy. You could hear people chit chatting , and walking outside your room, and the door closing sound could be heard clearly, which was quite disturbing. Location wise is ok, as it is right in the city center. Yet, the parking is really limited. You gotta purchase parking ticket to park by the road if there isn't any available slot. The check-in process was really slow. Apparently there was only one person working at the reception counter. I would not recommend as there are some other better hotels around that area with the same budget.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is excellent - close to night hawker stalls with great food, a big mall and a bus depot. Room was small, but bright (we had a window), modern, clean and comfortable. I have to agree with others' reviews that the shower is poorly designed so that the bathroom floor gets wet. We had some issues with regulating our air conditioner - too warm at first, then too cool, but it eventually settled out and was fine. Good value for the money.

The housekeeping was keep knocking the door even we are not put the tag in front of our room in the early morning and make us have to wake up beacuse he knocked louder and louder!! and suddenly want to take rubbish at 6pm. We are just confusing about the housekeeping very suspicious!

Reached the hotel about 3pm and was told that one of the rooms (i booked 2) was not ready yet. The 2 rooms allocated to us were on different floors.

Two points to note:
1. Glass partition between shower & toilet/basin is at the wrong position. It does not stop shower water from splashing and wetting the whole toilet. So after a shower, the entire toilet is wet.

2. The room card key does not allow access to other floors. This becomes very inconvenient when rooms (when more than 1 room is booked) are allocated on different floors. The only common floors are ground floor (car park/hotel entrance) and hotel reception (1st floor)

Overall a clean, neat, no frills budget hotel.

A small hotel convenient for food

Room rather tiny but facility lacking. There is a kettle but no coffee or tea supplied. For 2 persons in a room there should be 2 shower caps instead of one. The shower room is always very wet because of the splashing of water from the shower which has no door and the floor does not allow water to run off. There is always a pool of water on the wash basin side. As the reception is on the first floor there is little personal contact.

The only good thing about this hotel just the location. Employee seemed not too friendly. For me its not even a hotel, it's more like hostel. You have no choice of your booking room, you just get room they give you when check in. Housekeeping may be need more detaills abot cleanlines

Easy walking distance to the main sites of Georgetown. Extremely clean and comfortable.
Could do with some vending machines / little shop selling drinks of coffee as kettle provide but no coffee tea. Maybe a wider selection of TV channels.
