The room itself is perfect. Hotel staff are polite. We took the Family Room, which the nightly replenished drinks in the mini fridge are complimentary. The breakfast had excellent variety so much so that we could not try everything even when we spent 4 nights there. The only real downside was the complimentary shuttle service which they booked the wrong date for us, but it was still minor - although next time reception need to specify the date clearly to avoid this kind of problem.

We stayed for three nights and appreciated the services throughout our stay. The hotel is surrounded by food vendors of different varieties and price ranges. Great open view from the room (on the 15th floor). Easily to get Grab for transportation. Walking distance to attractions in George Town.

The Sunway was okay for a few nights. Older and clean. Showing signs of wear. Nice pool. The front desk, concierge, housekeeping and staff are all friendly and very helpful. The breakfast buffet is not great. It does not seem clean and or well managed. I booked this hotel based on other reviews. And the area around the hotel is noisey at night.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean, comfortable room. There are lots of restaurants just steps outside of this hotel including half block of food stalls on street at night. This hotel also offers free shuttle to few local attractions from Friday to Sunday (need to book in advance). I will definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay here!
We were able to check in early, provided with a welcoming gift, and throughout our stay all staff were accommodating.
Our room was very spacious for 3 adults and had many toiletries. The bedding was quite comfortable.
Continental breakfast buffet was quite limited for western food expect more Asian cuisine. Alwi always had a smile and was very helpful during breakfast time.

Lovely place to stay. Walking distance to most attractions. Grab is very inexpensive. Happy hour beer is the best prices anywhere in town. Only downside for me was the bed was hard but the shower was great. Staff were outstanding.

Our stay was wonderful. Room was clean and has toiletries and slippers in case you forgot them at home.
We did not have a car so parking wasn’t required but I was told that it’s difficult to find parking in Penang.
On the hotels.com description it says close to shopping Center which I think is referring to Time square however that mall is closed. There are other shopping areas just a little farther away.
The street where the hotel is located. The food stalls open at night and you can gets some pretty tasty food there as well as fresh juices

Every time I come to Penang, I stay at Sunway Georgetown because of the excellent service, clean rooms, and especially the comfortable bed. The location is also very convenient for getting around. I will definitely come back again.

Staff were all very friendly. We went out in the evening and staff told us to take an umbrella although it was a light drizzle. All staff were polite and greeted all guests. It is my 3rd stay at Sunway Georgetown and we will always go back there whenever in Penang. Convenient with plenty of food around and walking distance to the best Tau Sar Pniah

We stayed here for 2 weeks rooms are nicely renovated and hotel is very conveinient situated for shopping and dining out. We did not use public transport because the hotel was central to most places and we just got a Grab and on average we spent 7 ringhit to get to 90 percent of the places we visited, Breakfast a bit ordinary and pool while it was never crowded a bit on the smallish side and very limited seating they can put more seating and should. plus getting out of the pool for the elderly could be a little difficult as there are no proper steps in place but we managed On the whole great place and I would go back.

Little minus point - There was a used towel and shower cap on the washroom when I checked in. Air-conditioning and WiFi was abit unstable.

All the staff I encountered were pleasant and very respectful. The tv reception was dismal and the service technician did his best to improve the clarity but was not successful. I believe the lcd tv should be replaced with a led unit. At night the room temperature increased and made sleeping uncomfortable. For this reason and the poor tv reception I do not recommend this hotel.
