Stay there recently. Clean, renovated, everything you need is there. Laundry and Ice machine…friendly and helpful staff. Right across from plaza with different shops. 10 minutes drive from Monterey downtown, highly recommend for folks who need nice and simple stay in clean and comfortable hotel

Well situated hotel with waste parking. We had a spacious room with a comfortable king size bed. The room was tackled away from the main road and it was super quiet at night. The hotel is very well kept, everything was spotless and the hotel staff was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed generous breakfast portions served at the next door \"Grandma Kitchen\" restaurant. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Carmel, Pacific Grow and Monterey.

Bed was pretty comfortable, too.
One big thing was upstairs sounds.
Especially someone came back late night and walking around, oh dear…
There were ear plugs prepared as amenities, it was hard.

Other than that, it was pretty comfortable and specious.

Also there was a restaurant called “Grandma’s Kitchen” in same space. Staff were very nice and Spanish Omelette was very very delicious. I ate 2 days in a row.

The property was safe and clean. The bed was not very comfortable, the drains in the shower and the sink were very slow to drain. When showering, expect to spend time waiting for the water to drain. The refrigerator was not working. Overall, it was okay, but not worth the price we paid.

Very clean and nice, but parking spots were limited, ac unit turns on and off by itself throughout the night, and the floors are INCREDIBLY thin. We woke up every time the guests upstairs walked around or used the bathroom. Would overall give it a 7/10.

They said it was 2 separate guests each of those nights. We have stayed here multiple times and liked it but my husband was upset at the noise above us.

I booked this hotel based on the reviews, but when I was driving into the hotel, I was a bit worried due to the graffiti I saw nearby. However, the hotel is modernly updated. I love the cardless, keyless lock feature (I am scattered brained). The room is spotlessly clean with a hint of fragrance (I am not a fan of perfumed room, but at least they try to make the room smell pleasant). At first, I thought $40/day per pet was a bit high for a modest motel, but when I see the areas reserved for pets, I think it is totally worth it. There are small (fake) grass areas all around the hotel, and there is a big pet area furnished with water bowl, poopbags, and they are all kept very neat and clean. Even the hotel is located in a not-so-nice area, the hotel looks very secured. I was able to take my pets out in the middle of the night and felt completely secured because the pet area is within a few steps from my room behind a secured iron gate. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a clean, nice, modern room at a reasonable price located within a short drive of multiple beaches.

Good location. We couldn’t sleep because you could hear people upstairs. Maybe add carpeting? My mother was awoken at 3am and could not get back to bed.
Too many messages from hotel. But clean. Maybe adding an EV charger would be helpful.

Very clean. I was impressed at first glance. But, there were a few things that make this place less desirable. The sink and counter top area is outside the toilet and shower area. But, the counter is not within reach of the shower door. No place to set clothing for changing after a shower. I really don't like having no place to put things in the shower area. Another issue is the beds. I felt like I was sleeping on a bowl of jello. Sheets and bedding were clean, but the mattress was jiggly. The third issue is that we didn't find an elevator and think there isn't one. So we had to haul luggage up the stairs. That is kind of annoying. We were happy that the room was spotlessly clean.

Really enjoyed our stay here. I travelled with two small dogs and stayed for 3 nights. First impression was rough because our room had only 1 bedside table. We need one on each side of the bed for our CPAP machines. We were able to use the luggage rack and made a side table.

There was enough space for the pups gear in the room. They have as much \"luggage\" as I do.

The crown jewel of this inn is the doggie area. They made a genius decision to turn the old pool area into a fantastic, secure and CLEAN area for the pups to play in. I admit to being a helicopter dog mom. I let my boys play off-leash here because the enclosure was secure with an auto-closing entry/exit gate and the slats were close enough to keep a small child out. That served my purpose of keeping my boys in. The are was kept clean and there was plenty of outdoor furniture in the area for dog-loving families to relax with their best friends.

The front desk representatives were helpful and friendly when assisting me with how to make the door lock work. They do not have a breakfast offering. They do have a very good restaurant sharing their parking lot. Grandma's Kitchen had a wide selection and the breakfasts we ordered were filling and tasty.

We would definitely revisit when in the area.

The hotel is located on a very busy street so it is very noisy in the room to the extent that they provide earplugs. Shower water and pressure were non existent to the extent that you might not get shampoo out of you hair. Impersonable hosts and no amenities. I had to run the water through the proveded 1 cup Keurig just to get it warm. Not recommended.

For being on a main road, This place is well kept, the rooms were very clean and smelled nice. I rented 2 rooms. They allowed us to check into 1 room 1 hr early. The other room wasnt ready until 30 min after check in time. Parked near our room was tight. The mattress needs to replaced.

The room was clean and served it purpose. Though upgraded they need to update the bed frame as well since it squeaked quite loudly with every move. I understood at 500am what the complimentary ear plugs were for when I got woke up by the overheard jets. It would have been nice to know we were in a flight path when we booked. For the price it was decent.

Staff wasn’t too friendly upon check in or checking out and parking wasn’t ideal. Layout of the property was a bit odd but room was spacious and comfortable. Walls/floors are thin and if you’re on the bottom floor like I was you could hear every creak and crack of the people above you walking around let alone moving/dropping luggage and stomping made it hard to sleep.

I want to start by saying all the staff interacted with were incredibly friendly and helpful. I had zero complaints about any employees.

That being said, the room wasn’t as impressive. The air conditioner in our room was running all night and the room never got a single degree cooler. Despite the fact was in the 40s outside, the room was still uncomfortably hot. The mattress was a spring mattress and was really hard and uncomfortable.

The shower, while it did have nice warm water, had very little to no pressure and the shower head wasn’t great. The 2 settings are either a single narrow jet, or a spray that sprays everything except you.

The sheets on the bed were dirty and stained as well

Overall the property looks decent and the room seemed to be modern and updated. The staff were all friendly and the water filling station in the lobby has great filtered water. But besides that I cannot see myself staying here again. Between the air conditioner, dirty sheets, shower and bed the room was not as great as I thought from seeing reviews about this place

We loved this hotel! Customer service was great!
It’s clean and animal friendly! You do have to pay $40 a night for your fur baby but that’s ok. They have 3 areas for your fur baby to play or use the bathroom. Not far from downtown Monterey and close to restaurants and Safeway.
The room is spacious! It has a Keurig with pods, microwave and refrigerator. It also comes with shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion.
It is true you can hear your neighbors walking around etc but for this area you can’t beat the price. Also the parking lot is small but you don’t have to pay for parking. Sometimes people complain about the most littlest things. I guess I’m just easy to please! 😊

This is the 3rd time we’ve stayed here. The price is great and it’s not too far from Downtown or Cannery Row. The rooms are clean, the staff is nice, and the water gets hot.

Only problem we had during this trip was the bathroom shower did not drain very well.

The room was very spacious and very clean with all the necessary amenities, including a microwave and a fridge. The staff, front desk and housekeeping, were all amazing. The first night we stayed in a room on the first floor. The guest in the room right above us was the problem. This person was walking back and forth making SO MUCH noise from 9 p.m. -12 a.m. Then it was quiet. Then the noise started again around 2:30 a.m until 3:30 a.m., and again from 5 a.m. until 8 a.m. We only slept about 3 hours. The next morning I went to the front desk and requested another room on the second floor. The young man (don't remember his name) was very nice and went above and beyond to accommodate our request. He gave us another room on the second floor, and we slept beautifully that night. The hotel is close to several shops, such as CVS, 7-Eleven, and a restaurant. All in all, I would stay here again but in a room on the second floor, and I really recommend it.

Overall this was a good experience for what I was looking for. I was in town for Mothers Day and was not expecting to spend much time at the hotel but I wanted a nice place to relax and sleep at the end of the day.

The hotel management was very nice. I was able to check in as soon as I got there and was able to find my room quickly. As I was not requiring much of the staff and hotel amenities I do not have a lot to say on that end. The parking was decent and I noticed a washer/dryer area on our way to the room. I did not see a pool or gym on the map so I am unsure if they are available.

The room itself was nice. It was simple and clean and perfect to walk into after a decent drive. The shower was good and maintained cold water, however I was unable to plug the drain to use the bath. I will not say it wasn’t user error but I could not find a way to plug the bath which was a bit sad.

Check-out was also very easy and we were able to get on our way on time.

TLDR: I was looking for a nice place to decompress and rest after weekend family festivities. I did not want to spend a crazy amount of money on a super fancy hotel that I wasn’t going to spend a lot of time in-but I didn’t want to be in a place that made me feel gross or uncomfortable. After a website chat I was told the hotel had my reservation but be aware if you call direct to the property to confirm it might not be there. Mine was there upon arrival.

This is most certainly an older hotel but the room was completely updated and had a super comfortable bed and pillows, great shower, nice Kerig coffee maker, fridge and microwave. The place was immaculately clean! We would only have hoped to have two bedside tables but there was just one. Parking was easy and just steps from the room. It felt safe and convenient to shopping and restaurants. We highly recommend staying here!

Despite the listing saying it is 24 hours front desk—what they actually have is a virtual call box that calls someone random from elsewhere. They make you scan your face which I did not want to do but it was late and we had to check in. They claim free parking but do not actually have many spots and tell you you can just park at the breakfast spot next door (sus!). The walls are very thin and the bed is hard and extremely creaky. The people who own this place are around but won’t do check in, just come out to scold you on where to park. Should have read the bad reviews honestly.

The bathroom smelled like sewer for some reason so luckily we only stayed one night and didn't use the shower. The room wasn't bad, but the noise level is insane. We didn't get a good night sleep, so I wouldn't recommend for a nice relaxing vacation. Staff is nice and everything was easy.
