The staff is really friendly. We booked a king room and upon checking in we were notified that we had gotten a room upgrade. They gave us the king room with the water view and balcony. Room is nice and the view is perfect. But if you pay close attention, it’s a bit dirty. It might just be extra dusty due to some renovations but we found what seemed to be dry blood on the bathroom door. We called front desk and they took care of it immediately. Well definitely be back though, just for the view alone.

The hotel was under a major renovation and it was not made aware when making the reservation. The restaurant is operating minimally and its the only restaurant for miles. The staff did their best to take care of guests considering everything that was going on. Had I known that this MAJOR renovation was happening, I would not have booked the property or paid what I paid!!!

Unfortunately I have to only give 3 stars even though it's a beautiful hotel, but nowhere was it mentioned on the website or Expedia that it's under renovation, restaurants closed, the hookah lounge, which is a big factor in choosing the hotel, was not operating at the time as well as many other facilities under construction.
With Expedia, being a gold member, I am surprised to be offered a room upgrade or VIP acess or something and we received none of that.
The cleanliness aspect; it was clean but I cameback two nights in a row and found the same pieces of trash under the lamp stand and a few other details clearly showing that it wasn't cleaned up thougfhrly, the iron table and Iron stayed left out from day 1 after using it once! And I felt like my makeup bag was played with.
As beautiful as this hotel is, I will not be returning to it again, nor recommending it.

Don’t expect much. It’s a secluded location so there is a decent level of privacy, which may be the only noticeable value here. The pool was open, but the food/beverage area was closed at 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon. No waitstaff either. The restaurant they claim to have is pretty much just an event space. No bar. Limited food menu. Tough when you’re not walkable to any other restaurants.

The staff was fabulous. And the property while old, was clean and renovated. It’s a nice hotel. But you guys advertised a shuttle to the cruise terminal. It only goes to the Carnival cruise terminal. But your website doesn’t specify that. The cruise shuttle was THE reason we chose the hotel. That issue ended up being pretty expensive for us. Huge disappointment.

I love this hotel! I had never been before and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Friendliest hotel staff and most helpful I had ever encountered.

The rooms are clean and cute and its very close to a lot of activities. The pool area is great with jet ski rentals right next door.

Booked this great hotel through hotels.com months before. When we arrived at the hotel they didn’t have any records of us or our reservation. I showed them the reservation number and all the details from hotels.com. I was asked to forward the email from hotels.com to them, which I did. After about 10 minutes, the manager came over, understood what happened and assigned us a better room than what we selected thru hotels.com. 25 minutes later, we arrived in our suite with a water front view and balcony. A bit stressful, but the staff were very friendly, accommodating and understanding.

The location was great but they need to replace they're carpets right at the entrance smells really bad!
And the restaurant has a great costumer service but the carpet stinks 😩
Also the 🔥 fireplace outdoor the restaurant smells like propane so it might be dangerous they should be more careful....
Overall all of they're outdoors are stunning!!

During our two-night stay, we enjoyed a spacious, clean, and beautifully appointed room with a balcony. The hotel’s restaurant served cook-to-order breakfast and dinner, which we appreciated. We also made good use of the pool and lounge chairs, and especially loved gathering around the fire pits with s'mores. Overall, we had a delightful experience.

Room smelled like cigarettes but this non smoking. Bathroom floor wasn't clean. Hair was in the bathroom. And this was a renovated room. Cables can be seen dangling from under curtain near the ac unit. Kitchen did not look sanitary and the breakfast from 6-11am was like so basic. No drinks just coffee and juice. Not impressed. There was no spa and or yoga. Not sure where that is based on advertising. No Bar. The outdoor fire pit stops at 10pm???? Why sooo early.

The hotel is currently under renovation, closing the restaurant and impacting other amenities on the property. Given the renovation, we were also placed in building 4 which is near the road and quite nosey. The renovation wasn’t disclosed during my booking, and most definitely would have impacted our decision to stay at this property.

Beautiful location and view, nice pool—quiet, comfortable, we had a great stay. A few items of note: They offer a shuttle to the Long Beach cruise terminal right by the hotel, but not to any other local ports or cruise terminals. If you want to ride bikes at the beach across the bridge, you can’t checkout the bikes onsite—but there are public transit bikes that are cheaper by the hour if you walk across the bridge. Onsite food and bar are pricy, and room service wasn’t answering the phone—so we had Uber Eats deliver to our door.

Hotel was great especially if you are booked with a cruise! They have a free shuttle to the port.
CLEAN rooms love the design and the patios! Would definitely stay here again. Only downside is not too many food options but only a 3 min uber ride to DT Long Beach. Lots of things to do when/if weather permits

Great location with super friendly staff. The pool and hot tub were really nice, and our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We did the s’mores package, which was such a fun touch..my daughter and I loved it and felt safe the entire time. The port was close for our cruise, and we were even able to walk to the Queen Mary. There are Lime scooters nearby and a nice walking path, which made it even better. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Parking was available for $45

Hotel room stated upgraded but I didnt see anything special about it. The pool area was nice. Parking was $45 a night. $45 a night. I think that’s a little pricey to be so far away from downtown. At 8:30 I got a knock on the door for house cleaning when check out wasn’t even until 11 am and I had not checked out. They knocked and then just came in. They should have some better communication from front desk to the house keepers. It’s a ten minute drive from downtown.

The location and layout are great - right on the water, with a walking path along it and lots of outdoor seating. The pool is also great - bigger than many hotel pools, and with lots of chaise lounges.

Our room, however, was very rundown and dirty. The floorboards were warped, there were spider webs on the bathroom ceiling, and the plug-in for the coffee maker had a web of dust all over it. The bathroom generally was old and rundown. By the time I realized all of this, we had already unpacked, so I didn't want to ask to move.

In addition, they informed me when we checked in that the restaurant was being remodeled, so they had limited service and only outdoor seating. We were counting of the restaurant because we didn't want to go out to find meals elsewhere, but it was too cold to sit outside. So that was a disappointment.

The fire pits that they touted were always occupied by other guests while we were there, but they looked cozy. They need to get more of them so that all guests have the opportunity to use them.

One of the buildings is under renovation, so I hope the building we stayed in will get renovated soon too. If so, and if the restaurants are open, this would be a great place to stay.

Cute hotel that was clean and contemporary. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and very helpful! There were little activities on the property for the kids…games, pool and a sand area. Hotel is right on the waterfront and a 10-15 min walk to the Carnival cruise port for anyone who’s looking for accommodations prior to leaving.

The hotel is right on the water and you can see the Long Beach pier across the way as well as the Queen Mary. We stayed in a beach view room for 5 nights, and the view was remarkable. The restaurant was being remodeled, so I can’t speak to the food options. The amenities were great and the staff were very friendly. With all the said…charging $45 a night for parking for paying guests (because they don’t own their parking lot) is OUTRAGEOUS!! Overall, my family and I had a great time, but I won’t be staying here more than two nights until they get their parking fees under control.

Check in was a hassle. Was told there would be a $50 early check in fee. Due to this I decided to go shopping. I then received a text about room being available 1 hr prior to retail at check in time and opted out on early check in to avoid having to pay the extra $50. An hour later, I showed up to hotel to check in to be told that my room was not ready but that they would notify me as soon as a room became available. I ended up sitting in my car waiting for an hour before noticing a long line of people checking in and exiting with room keys so I went back in to follow up. At this point I was pretty upset and was told my room just became available which I felt was intentional because I opted out on paying an extra $50 1 hr prior to regular check in time.

The hotel has a lot of potential. It has a lot of character and the location is right on the water. It has a beautiful view of the harbor. I enjoyed sitting out at the fire pit. I wish I had known the hotel was undergoing renovations ahead of time. The restaurant had limited selections. Beverages and snacks were scarce in the makeshift gift shop as well. There was a Keurig in the room, but I had to purchase bottled water from the gift shop to use it. I was able to make do, but if I had been traveling with my family, I would’ve driven across the harbor and gone to a restaurant or grocery store.

Hotel Maya was amazing. When we checked in, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. We were staying with family and asked to be close together which they accommodated with no problem. We had reservations at the Queen Mary for dinner and walked there in about 10 minutes. The staff told us the best way to go. It was a pretty and safe walk. There was a nice place to sit and have drinks right by our rooms in building 4. We had breakfast at Fuego which was right next to the water and a great location. We were headed to Catalina after our stay and it took us about 5-10 minutes to get to the ferry. Our beds in the room were comfortable and the AC was great! Our balcony faces the parking lot but we didn’t mind. It was very quiet. All of us loved Hotel Maya and would absolutely stay here again.

Nice hotel. Ideal if you have a car as it’s about a 20min walk to the downtown side of the water. In the process of being updated so restaurant was closed except a smaller selection available at bar/room service. Pool was nice and just needs a little bit of sprucing up to match remodeling. Staff were pleasant but nothing exceeding expectations and barely what you’d expect for hospitality

Well to start off, there was no mention of construction going on to the hotel. They were working well into the late afternoon till around 6 or so. The restaurant was under construction as well and they moved the dinning area to conference room that happen to have a balcony. It was kinda awkward and no one didnt really know what to do when you get in. The food was good though. The cocktails were just ok. We tool the kids to the pool in the afternoon. We had it to ourselves for a brief moment until a group of people , 3 guys and 2 girls, came in and started blasting there music. 1 guy was saying he didnt care about playing the music loud and yelled out, \"I own this F...ing motel!\" Im pretty sure he didnt lol. All the pool noodles they had available looked like someone took a bite out of them and spit the pieces into the pool. There was chunks of pool noodle floating all over the pool. The little beach sitting area was nice. That was well taking care of and had a nice view of the water. The rooms were nice and had a great view if you get the balcony rooms. The ice machines and vending machine had locked cage doors on them and i wasnt sure if i need to prop the door so i could get out or close it and be locked in lol. The pictures from what i seen on the Expedia profile wasnt exactly the same when i got there.

I just wished when we told them that we were going on a cruise they could have mentioned that we needed to sign up for the shuttle. We didn’t find out till our other friends showed up. And we told concierge that we were going on the cruise in conversation. Other than that little hiccup all was well

Part 1 - I'm someone who is a regular 9-5 worker who wanted to splurge on her mom for her bday. Overall, the place is nice. But, for paying almost $1K for just 2 nights (yes, even if it was an Ocean View Room), there are some things that I feel should not be an issue.
The view from the 1st level balcony was obstructed. We were in the corner, next to the pool. (Specifically rm 4107). Don't ask for that room if you don't want people walking right in front of your balcony because the gate to the pool and cabanas is right there). To see The Queen Mary from your balcony you have to walk out away from your balcony, look to the right and THEN it's there. But it would be been nice to know that. I wouldve asked for an unobstructed view. They do not tell you that when they give you the room.
Also, for paying almost $1k for 2 nights, The vending machines should work. And be filled IF they work. I also shouldn't have to ask for the robes/slippers that were supposed to be in the room already. (I asked for both, they just gave me the robes. They did not bring slippers). They said it's only if available and upon request. The website does not say that.
Whoever took the pictures for the site, BRAVO! As higher end as it's portrayed through pictures, you would think they would provide enough luggage carriers. Nope. Bed in room 4107(which is also a connecting room..did not want that) literally makes noise every time you move. Walls are thin....you can hear snoring even when it wasn't loud.

We scheduled a shuttle to the cruise terminal. We were there ten minutes before our scheduled time. They left. Just left us there and then told us. We’d have to wait another 30 minutes longer before they’d be able to actually take us. We couldn’t wait and had to make our own arrangements. We were not happy! Would strongly not recommend them for their dismissive attitude.
