My wife and I stay at the Maya every year for our anniversary for many years now. We appreciate the quiet, couples atmosphere here. Unfortunately, our recent stay here was disappointing. We stayed Sunday, June 21st through Tuesday, June 22nd. We were awakened early buy banging sounds. It seems there may have been work going being done on our floor, or below us. I couldn't pinpoint it. This was on both mornings. I chalked it up to being weekdays (we usually stay on Friday or Saturday nights). We were told our room was an "newly renovated" room which is great. However, when I walked into the bathroom after my wife showered, I stepped into a puddle of water with my socks. Gross. I asked my wife "did you shower with the door open?" She said no. After mopping up all the water with some towels, I took a shower and the same thing...a large puddle on the floor. It seems the construction of the shower curb angle is wrong. Instead of the angle forcing water to fall back into the shower, it flows out. There is also no splash guard just outside of the shower glass to prevent more water from flowing out. I did call the front desk for more towels and we got them in 2 minutes. Impressive. Our dinner at the restaurant was disappointing as we waited over 30 minutes for someone to take our order. I have more comments, but no more space to write. So, even as your pricing has climbed, we still try to come to the Maya as this is special memory for our Anniversary.

Great resort in Long Beach outside of city but within easy drive and walk to many restaurants and attractions. Exceptional room with view, staff very personable and accommodating. Enjoyed the restaurant for drinks and dinner and have no significant issues with our stay. Really excellent venue with great ‘beach’ pool and views. I would recommend better in room, heavy towels for this caliber hotel. Our initial room did not have a view, actually looked out to a ‘garden’ tree which if we had stayed longer also would have been overview of a wedding. We booked via 3rd party which is maybe why room did not have view and management could have easily comped our upgrade as it was special occasion and hotel not fully occupied however we do understand bottom line. Lobby staff were helpful and extra nice for checking-out with clean spacious rooms and spectacular grounds. There are not many places near the hotel for snacks and the lobby has limited and pricey options, so stock up on your way. Self- parking fee is a bit much. Highly recommended staying here if in the area.

Stay away from this property. They are liars. I had booked a stay through expedia and when we got there i guess they had just finished remodeling. Something they used triggered my asthma along with my toddlers and we had to leave ar midnight. They would not refund and lied to expedia and told them they offered a room change when they had not. There are much better properties in the area avoid MAYA at all costs.

My experience at Hotel Maya was absolutely wonderful. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and attentive. The property is beautifully maintained, offering stunning waterfront views that create a relaxing and tropical atmosphere right in Long Beach.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, providing everything needed for a pleasant stay. One of my favorite parts was simply enjoying the scenery around the hotel and taking in the peaceful views of the harbor.

The location is excellent, offering easy access to nearby attractions, dining, and the waterfront. Whether you’re visiting for a vacation, special event, or wedding, Hotel Maya provides a unique and memorable experience.

No shuttle to the Royal Caribbean Cruise ship! The only reason why we booked because the reviews stated free shuttle to the boat. No shuttle to the restaurants across the bridge to eat dinner. Breakfast was none existent because they were out of everything and expensive for the little they had. The hotel is nice and has potential to be great. My biggest complaint is the shuttle service. We booked because the hotel location is at the port! Why not have a shuttle to all boats??!!

Got a message saying I needed to call by 1pm to provide a different card number for the reservation since my card expired after I made the reservation or my reservation would be cancelled, but trying to get the front desk to answer the phone to do so was a nightmare. I, my boyfriend, and his mom all tried multiple times to get a hold of someone before we got on our flight which would be in the air at 1pm and the phone kept ringing and ringing or would eventually provide a message that the transfer from the automated system to the front desk failed, or, if we finally got someone to answer via another selection, we would get hung up on during the transfer. They also tried to tell us we only had one toom booked as opposed to the two rooms the reservation on my end showed. This was a very stressful situation for our family that was barely resolved before we got on our flight and was only resolved because our flight was delayed a bit.

Very nice location by the boardwalk of Long Beach. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms look clean, but are dated be aware of the $45 overnight parking fee. really really nice bar/lounge to relax and look at the queen Mary and ocean water I would come again.

And the menu on the actual hotel website for the restaurant was very different than the actual menu at the restaurant which was a little frustrating. Overall this was my second time staying and it was a lovely stay and I would come stay again.

It was a beautiful hotel inside, however the pool was pretty dirty (with a pool guy sitting out there monitoring but not cleaning anything). The beach area had a lot of garbage floating in the bay that was yucky. And it’s on the water but not like you would think..it has a drop off of rocks then water. It’s not like a sandy beach you can walk out to. Outdoor seating and bon fires were nice.

Even though the property was finishing up remodel our experience was top notch. Room was spacious and clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. The pool was nice and security was able to discreetly take care of one small issue (a couple that had had just a bit too much drink) and safely get them back to their room without any trouble. The location is close if you are leaving on a carnival cruise, otherwise the only thing near is the queen mary. The views of the water were breathtaking, we can’t wait to come see the renovation once completed. Thank you for an excellent stay.

Clean and nicely decorated rooms and grounds. Multiple fire pits, nice little gym and a nice heated pool. They have a nice walking path on the harbor that allows for an easy walk to Queen Mary if you chose. The restaurant was under construction with limited hours so that was unfortunate. They only shuttle to Carnival for cruises so plan to use rideshare options. They do offer extended parking for a reasonable rate so that’s an option.

Honestly I was expecting more from this hotel unfortunately this place needs alot of work. Elevators did not work, filthy from the outside, paid for water front but got a view from a large palm tree i paid 450 for 1 night only! Restaurant under construction and to top it off they charge 40 dollars for parking! My first time staying here and last!

The property was very Nice and in a super nice and convenient area. The staff was very friendly; from the time I checked in to the hotel, to the staff cleaning the rooms, as well as in the make shift restaurant.

The weight room was very nice and had just enough to get an amazing workout in.

I wish the Restaurant and bar were open dueing my stay. It was actually one of the main selling points on me booking my stay, sadly, it was closed for renovations.

Overall, I would stay again!

Absolutely gorgeous property. The staff was super nice kind and ready to help. Multiple areas to sit and relax and enjoy the views. Took us no time at all to walk to Shoreline Village. With all that being said I am a smoker only thing that would make it absolutely perfect was if there was a designated area to go to smoke. I understand it is not widely accepted anymore however after all it’s my body my choice lol. It would be nice maybe have a designated area out by the water or near the very last building.

Had a lovely and peaceful stay at the hotel. Felt very safe the whole time as a solo traveler disappointed with the limited restaurant situation during the stay with construction but happy for the nice pool and lounges. The fitness center was very nice and clean. The bed was super comfortable and loved the in-room espresso machine! I would love to come back after the upgrades. Long beach was super close and nice to visit.

No breakfast was had the staff were very rude and to busy talking to one another to offer a table to my party. Staff were always on the phone not working. If you need something you have to go ask the front desk. One of our four rooms never was ready.

The hotel is nice, however they failed to tell us that the restaurant and pool were under construction. Breakfast at the restaurant was accompanied by a sewer smell that lingered around while eating. Then we asked the front desk about the amenities. They decided not to tell us that the pool was being overhauled and we literally had to walk over hoses to get there just to find out it was closed. The rooms here aren’t cheap and I realize what you’re actually paying for are the amenities. If these are under construction, I think the rooms should be discounted and there should be information posted about the construction before someone books.

Moreover, I’m not going to accuse anyone of being discriminatory but I did find it odd that the front desk person was willing to go to the back to find a map of the property for the people in front of us, but could not provide one for us when we arrived. We had to search online for ourselves just to find the hotel room.

There are things at hotels one can overlook, but when you’re paying a premium to stay somewhere, there really is no excuse.

The only restaurant on property was under construction. There was tables outside where you ordered your expensive food (2 orders of tacos, 2 can sodas and 1 margarita, $92.00, this amount includes a automatic 20% tip that is included on all orders. You either ate outside or take back to your room.

Had a really nice stay overall. The room was clean, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the staff was friendly. It ended up being a perfect chill birthday/Mother’s Day getaway. The only downside was that the restaurant is currently under construction, so the menu was very limited and food/drinks were served in to-go boxes instead of regular dining service. Other than that, everything was great and we enjoyed our stay

Room was spectacular with view of the Queen Mary and water. Huge suite with two espresso machines and two bathrooms, sliding glass doors with balcony overlooking the water . Hotel is under construction but room was fabulous. About 10-15 minute Uber to cruise pier (Princess cruise.) Free shuttle only goes to the Carnival pier which we did not know until we arrived at the hotel, so we had to Uber which was fine. I would definitely stay here again for the beauty of the room!

If you want to use their nespresso machine, bring sugar packets because they only provided the coffee pods and cream.
Such a great experience staying here. We rented scooters right at the front of our building and cruised the shoreline to dinner. So fun!

If you’re planning to catch the shuttle to the Cruise port, make sure you sign up early! We booked this hotel, mainly for this amenity, but it was already full by 4 PM.

They also have very limited maintenance staff, and none in the evening, so make sure everything in your room operates properly as soon as you check in.

I was highly disappointed with the whole experience. When we showed up the hotel was under construction. Which was not mentioned when we booked the room. The restaurant was under construction (which is why I booked here in the first place.) Yes they had an alternate place to eat but it was not where i was expecting to be. After we checked in we were on the 3rd floor and the elevator was not working. So we took the staris only to get to our room and the door be locked from the inside. So here I go back down the stairs to get to the lobby. Maintenance did go by and open the door after 10 minutes. We had to carry our luggage up 3 flights if stairs. The cleaning personnel was super helpful . The pool was nice and clean plenty of towels and room to sit. I would not book here again.
