The price is cheap and reasonable. The hotel is at a very convenient location to reach the key spots in walking distance.
The room cleanliness is fair; the furniture and the overall setting looks old with the wardrobe handling broken. Yet so far no dirt or third-party hair observed. Much better if the bedding and comforter are renewed.
There is room service for basic cleaning in the middle of our stay. The staff are kind and helpful.

The photos presented on the booking website shows a much nicer room. The actual room and furniture provided in the room are old and rundown. It seems no proper care or maintenance at this hotel.

When I asked the front desk staff why the room does not appear to match the photos, the staff replied the photos were from many many years ago.

The hotel fixtures are a bit run down, but that is the only thing negative I could find! Lucy and her colleagues were beyond excellent! They were very helpful and when our tv didn’t work they had a new one installed before lunch. They also went out of their way to make special bus and taxi arrangements for us. They also exchanged our $ with no fee! It felt like a little home away from home. And right near all the action! You Can walk everywhere.

The hotel need major update, bathroom faucet and shower not working, shampoo and body wash are old (smelly and foul odor). Housekeeping is minimal, only replacing the towels and make bed, no cleaning at all (the piece of bandage belong to the previous guess was never taken away for the duration of our four night stay!). The pictures on Expedia are misleading!!!

The room was very old compared to the photos on the website. The showers had very little water coming out. The TV wasn’t working but it was replaced with a new smart TV the next day. I didn’t have any city view as mentioned in the description or photos. The view was of a confined space between other buildings. There is no restaurant or fireplace as showing in the room details.
The only good thing we liked was the staff specifically Lucy who took good care of us that made up for the issues with our room. She was very friendly, recommended places to eat, to visit, and also booked a great tour package to Halong bay at a very good price.

On arrival we were told the air con in our room was faulty and asked to use a temporary room and return in an hour - fine we went out to eat. When we returned after over an hour it still wasn’t fixed and were asked to wait a further 30 mins. The room was OK but not superb, but for the price was fine

The property is in a great location, close to the old quarter and right next to St. Paul’s Cathedral. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we had a late night arrival. The was quite large had a nice view overlooking the street. It was somewhat noisy at night with motorbikes and cars passing by and the bathroom could benefit from a deep clean. The price was fair for what you get.

The AC worked, it was clean enough and it was safe. That’s all that mattered to us. The old saying ‘You Get What You Pay For.’ is still true!

Convenient hotel near the big church

This is my second stay at this hotel. Even though the room had a nice big window this time, the condition was quite run down with cracks on the floor and dusts on the chaise. I was told they were thinking about renovation for this room.
The reception staff were lovely, the young lady changed the fridge for me as the one in my room was not working. The size of the room is comfortable as I booked for a bigger size room.
The location was great as it was 5mins walk to Hoan Kiem lake and had lots of eateries nearby.

I initially booked this room due to the good reviews on this website, and the pictures looked promising. However on arrival, there was quite a lot of issues that we encountered. We booked two rooms but initially only got one room and had to make the staff aware of this. The first room's door had a large gap in it and was difficult to lock. The bathroom had soap scum on the floors and in the shower, the toilet and surrounding floor was visibly dirty. The sheets on the bed had rips in them. The second room's bathroom was also quite dirty. There was hair on the bedroom and bathroom floors. There was also drops of blood on the floor next to the bed and bedside table. I am unsure if the rooms had been cleaned properly prior to our arrival. We were supposed to stay here for 6 nights but did not even stay for 3 hours due to feeling very uncomfortable with the living situation. We booked elsewhere and instantly felt more secure and comfortable. The benefit of this hotel is the location, as it is quite close to everything in the Old Quarter. The bedrooms are larger compared to other hotels also. If you are looking for convenience and a fairly priced hotel, and are not too concerned about the standard of cleanliness then I would recommend this for you. I however would not recommend staying here to my friends and family.

I do not recommend this hotel. Two towels for two people, no other towels or hand cloths. Shower lacked shelves so soap etc had to be outside on sink. No water kettle. Coffee cups but no coffee. Safe inoperative. TV inoperative. Cobwebs in corners. Room musty with mildew. No comp water. Stay away.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is situated in a very quaint alley with the cathedral at the end of the alley. The hotel is ideally located within easy walking distance of the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem lake. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. This is a little gem of a hotel and in such a picturesque part of Hanoi near the cathedral and off a very charming street with lots of cute restaurants and shops as well as historic buildings and beautiful trees. Nearby is a convenience store and its easy to catch the bus from here to other parts of Vietnam as well as easy walking to the lake and all the amazing sights of Hanoi old quarter. The rooms are spacious, very clean and well maintained and the host was so extremely helpful to me. I was really happy i found this place and i already booked it for my return trip into the city

First impressions didn't last.

Excellent location in the old quarter, easy walking distance to most places. At first glance, the room looked fine. However the TV, hairdryer and room safe didn't work. Despite reporting this to reception, nothing was done about it. The lid was also broken off the kettle. The lovely wooden tissue dispenser had no tissues and the fridge was set to max meaning the bottles of water and cans of beer provided (for use at a cost) were all frozen solid. The bed was made and the towels changed daily however the level of cleanliness left something to be desired. The sink area clearly wasn't cleaned, the run off marks from my toothbrush were there all week and a quick peek behind the bathroom curtain revealed that area hadn't been cleaned in years. The floor wasn't clean either, my grey socks soon had black soles. It's a shame because these are issues that could easily be fixed.

First of all, not greeting at all when check in, no smiling, seemed they were busy with other things.
The property described a roof top and city view, however there’s no roof top, top floor is for residential area, not city view either.
All of sudden, hot water didn’t work at all, when we came back from touring with lots of sweat, due to humid weather, minibar fridge wasn’t working either, I wsa expecting literally cold drinks when I arrived the hotel from whole day tour.
The building is quite old, most of them are EOL.
I’ve never seen that room door operates by old school key, not a card.
And the hotel provides only 2 bath towels only, not any other towels, no housekeeping service, no cleaning the room, they just swapped the 2 bath towels only.
Also, the hotel describes soundproof building, however, not at all, I could hear everything even from next door.
I would not recommend this hotel.

Upon our second day we were asked where we were going and we were asked to change room as to give allowance to a new customer who had just booked the room although we had also paid for a triple room! Absolutely rediculous!

This has been the worst stay ever. First, we I didn’t get what we booked for. There were no room left in the hotel when we checked in. Had to go to a different one which was really bad. Small, dirty and no amenities. We stayed one night and had to change back to the original hotel which was not great at all. We didn’t get the room we were supposed to. No view and poor conditions of the room and building. This made the stay really unenjoyable. The staff manager the next day couldn’t understand why this happened. She was sorry and ended up paying for our taxi ride to the airport. Good gesture, but doesn’t change the fact that we were really uncomfortable and very much inconvenienced by the experience. I would definitely not recommend this place.

We actually stayed at the Capital Hotel, a sister property across the street. The room was a spacious, modern, nice shower and had a balcony which was great to spend time on to relax. the first night of our stay they didn’t have a room in their hotel so they took us across the street to stay and then we returned to the Inner Hotel for the remainder of our stay. but both hotels were nice. the inner hotels staff was super friendly and very helpful with recommendations of where to go and eat. the room was comfortable with AC and free wifi. the beds were soft but they only provide a top sheet to cover with. but the hot water and water pressure in the shower was good. the hotel was in a very central location and easy to walk to many places. you must try MAMA bahn mi right around the corner for the best bahn mi!!

A big disappointment-it’s only an acceptable one

The place is surely not the worst we have been through in Vietnam but an over all of 9.2/10 from the reviews makes my stay here a disappointment. The room is okay-ly in order but the bathroom was a horror: the shower’s wall was full of mold - black mold. I felt disgusted in it. I asked the front desk to have it cleaned up asap but they couldn’t because the cleaning person is only in during the day and I was out the whole day while they had only 1 key to the room which was on me. I decided to clean the shower myself at my return given that I could not ask for the refund and I could not change hotel or clean myself in such filth. Apart from the fact that their soap and shampoo didn’t clean, the front desk failed to provide me with a functioning shampoo dispenser even if I told them first thing when we received the room.

Very good location close to old quarter.
First room was full of mosquitos. A receptionist sold me the tours a good price but she didn't sent me the itinerary in advance and I couldn't organize my clothes for 2 days trekking, but anyways, I had and amazing trip in Sa Pa.
What I really concerned was they moved all my luggages the day I wasn't there, I extended the day before my Check out, and they trow away an important receipt of my flights.
Fortunately I could recovered, but it's feel weird someone took all your personal stuff.

I was shocked to know that the hotel only changed hands 7days before our checked in. The manager was very apologetic of the condition of the room. She is right, truly needs update. But her keen disposition makes a lot of difference and we still got our rest in the room. She is conversant in English, and even helped us with the best rate for the taxi ride to airport. There are many, many properties in this area of Hanoi, old town, that are walkable to lots of locations. This property is no exception - very walkable and excellent access to sites, etc. Our room was listed as a city view but was not. To be clear, the only possible city view from this hotel is from the front. It is wedged between other properties and the view from the back windows is disastrous. There is no breakfast served at this property - you need to walk to the hotel two doors down, and the breakfast options are not as good as we had in two other hotels in the same area during our vacation. Also, little things, like a bar of soap and hand towels were not in the room. Our toilet leaked and the door lock hardware was falling apart - it seemed like when brought to the staff's attention they didn't understand what we were saying.

First night, the staff asked us to stay in another hotel which is 2 building next because the problem of the air cond. the hotel we stayed was quite bad, noisy, and buggy. On the second night, We stayed in Splendid, it was a lot better, cleaner, more peaceful and newer room. No fridge in the room.

Convenient location, safe, walking distance to main attractions. Room was big with 2 king size beds and a sofa. That can accommodate up to 5/6 persons. Lots of good restaurants around. Good free breakfast, room was cleaned daily. Staffs was helpful,

Very disappointed

I’m very surprised with this hotel review , lacation not the best , but short f staff, breakfast horrible , last of choice , no bread , one cook getting everything wrong ,
Only 1 staff at the reception who does everything. I’m vêry disappointed.

location of the hotel is good, easy access to most part of the town. the neigbourhood is quiet and safe and very easy to get your daily supplies.

the toilet inlet and the water pressure may need some maintenance. overall, I have a pleasant stay. thank you.
