Visit the lakes of Bled and Bohinj

We had chosen to stay in this hotel for the proximity of the Bohinj and Bled lakes. It was perfect for us, we did a lot of hiking. You can easily start a trip directly from the hotel.
We liked the breakfast and the dinner in the hotel. Dinner is in buffet, not an abundance of choice, but everything was tasty, and the staff made sure everything was constantly refilled. The people at the reception have been very helpful and friendly. We also liked the pool in the adjacent aquapark. Perfect to relax after a long hike.
For our next trip to Slovenia we might stay here again.

We had a mediocre experience at Eco Hotel Bohinj. The property felt bland, dated, and impersonal — definitely not what we were hoping for in such a beautiful and unique region. While the hotel is marketed as 4-star, it didn’t live up to that standard in terms of atmosphere or service.

The staff ranged from cold and rushed to outright unfriendly. One front desk staffer (Tina) even scoffed at our basic questions, which set the wrong tone. The overall vibe was rigid and transactional, rather than warm or welcoming.

On the plus side, our kids enjoyed the water park, and we appreciated the hotel’s commitment to sustainability. But beyond that, the hotel didn’t add much — and certainly didn’t enhance our experience of this otherwise magical area.

We didn’t have a terrible time, but we’d recommend looking elsewhere if you’re hoping for a charming, memorable, or truly 4-star stay in Bohinj.

I book superior mountain view room, my view was a factory that was open and noisy 24 hours a day. The view of two large chimney of misty, white smoke was \" the mountain view\". The four nights i stayed they come to clean the room one time only, not bothering to replace the towels. The hotel does notvhave the pool. It is connecting to nearby aqua park, which is used by a lot of school kids

Best place to stay in Bohinj

Probably the best place to stay in Bohinj, Bowling Alley is a great touch and we made good use of it! Friendly and helpful staff made our stay comfortable, even when the airline lost our luggage. Free shuttle to the slopes. Overall, highly recommended and we will stay here again.

Nothing wrong, but nothing special for the price

There's nothing explicitly wrong with this hotel, but there's nothing special about it either given the choice of other accommodations in the surrounding area. The rooms are adequate but boring, the staff is lackluster, the food (we had breakfast) satisfactory, so you are not hungry. but definitely not standing out in any way. And we could do without the staff arguing loudly during breakfast ...

Also, we booked a \"Mountain View\" room and even joked before arriving how could any room in Bohinj not have a view of the mountains ... well, we had a parking lot view!

For the price you can do much better in Bohinjska Bistrica and the surrounding area and best leave this hotel to conference guests, which it was full of when we were there (late November).

The hotel was easy to find. The room is spacious and looked nice designed but felt a little old. Good enough for us to stay 1 night in between visiting near by beautiful nature.

The breakfast buffet has a great range including some local dishes. It looked busy but there are some empty tables so it was not very packed.

At our arrival, we saw many teens/younger crowds (like a school trip) and we were afraid of some noise and traffic but it was alright. We saw other business groups, so we assume the hotel accepts many big groups as well.

Communication with the hotel staff before our arrival was not very smooth due to their English (I hope), but the staff we checked us in was helpful.

We did not get to use the spa as we arrive late. I wanted to try their pool in the spa lounge but I needed to book a massage to use so I gave up.

Not what we expected

We were rather disappointed with this stay. Place came across as a fancy hotel/spa with relaxing pools. Instead it was a rather standard hotel, with an external public pool (with loads of people) and not overly friendly staff. Hotels.com did its usual trick of saying the price was down from a laughable €500 which also gave us false expectations.

A nice place, but also possibilities to improve

The hotel is nice and clean. It is adjacent to the indoor waterpark which is great for families with small children but a bit noisy and crowded for couples and older visitors. For such visitors though, there is a nice wellnes at the top of the hotel with great views of the surrounding mountains.
Although they try to show off as the best local hotel, there are many details that where they could approve: juice glasses were right hot from the machine in the morning, and selection of cheese for breakfast was poor (not to mention that there were almost no breakfast vegan options). Also, there was no towels available in sauna.
Nevertheless, the staff was friendly and helpfull and there are many hiking and swimming possibilities in the area, many of which easily accessible with local public transportation.

Great location, easy to park. The room was spacious and very clean and modern. However, we had a room just off the main reception area and it was a little noisy, we could hear everyone coming and going. We arrived late for dinner, there is only a buffet option, no menu choice, and there was hardly anything left. We went into the town to eat, which was much nicer and cheaper.

Service needs to be improved

We asked to exchange our room when many night bugs entered our room through the open window. The staff was very reluctant to switch our room and we had to plead them to agree to our request.
The quality of the hotel’s restaurant food is very poor. My wife ordered a risotto dish that was uneatable.
Overall, the room was not clean enough and the staff staff was not friendly.
The hotel location is good.

Nice base to explore the area

Hotel is nicely decorated, our room seemed new, clean and modern. The lady on reception was really helpful and friendly and we were able to check in very early without charge. Breakfast was extremely busy but there was plenty to go around. The water park area was good for kids to run around and there was a nice sunbathing area by the quieter outside pool. Plenty of free car parking spaces. Not many places to eat nearby.

Last minute stay. Hotel has good parking. Staff were good. Room was clean and comfortable. Used the indoor pool which was excellent especially as we had it to ourselves. Just missed the outdoor one as it closes earlier. Wellness area as a warning to British people is a naked one! So expect an eye full, i was a bit shocked and just wore a towel as did my girlfriend. The surrounding area is gorgeous, short 5 min walk to shops.

We were upgraded to the suite in floor #4 and it was amazing room BUT the beds were awful not comfortable at all and making so much noise whenever you just touch it.
Beside that the hotel is very clean, good breakfast and good location. the Aqua park is also very nice.

Disappointing

Check in was appalling. I had to ask about everything (where to park, what time and where breakfast was, where the facilities were). Each question was met with an annoyed look. The ‘view’ from the room was of the back of a run down house with tiny glimpses of a mountain. Although it was a standard room the lookout was still very disappointing for the price of the accommodation compared to others in the area. In fact none of the rooms have a great room as the main aspect of the hotel is over the car park.

Nice hotel w/ indoor waterpark

Great location just a few minutes drive from Lake Bled. No shopping nearby l, w/ limited dining options. Restaurants in hotel offered good meals for fair price. Staff was friendly and attentive.Hotel was clean and updated. Free parking for guests. Best selling point is attached water park with multiple pools, hot tubs, \"rivers\" and climbing wall with waterfall. Kids absolutely loved it.

A tired and understaffed hotel with a good pool

Pros:

Pretty surroundings; good buffet (breakfast and dinner); great pool complex; friendly staff (but not enough of them); ample free parking.

Cons:

Lake not within walking distance; the hotel has not been invested in and is tired: the TV didn't consistently work; there was a power cut; the aircon was turned off; facilities (yoga and bowling) were only available if booked well in advance (low staff numbers presumably); hotel doesn't abide by its own literature (the restaurant claimed to specialise in vegetarian dishes but didn't have any on the a la carte menu). Also not convinced by the \"eco\" claims given the lack of plugs for sinks etc. The fitness centre is a disgrace - all machines broken; no aircon; weights broken in half; children in gym unsupervised; messy - I was only able to work out because I brought my own TRx cables and push-up bars.

About 20min drive to Bled.

The bathrooms are great, modern and good water pressure.
The rooms (we had 2) were dull but comfortable. The lobby area was bit haphazard. The breakfast was very average.

Excellent relaxing at Eco park hotel

My husband and I stayed here two nights and it was simply great - a combination of outdoor activities and indoor is possible, so we always had a choice (swimming pool or outdoor walks). Staff very friendly and always found solutions for us. will come again.

Great hotel with big spa in the Julian Alps

Beautiful and very quiet hotel complexe in the Julilan Alps with excellent spa (outstanding massage). Very warm welcome in outstanding English, very competent and helpful recepcionists. Big superior room with very spacious bathroom. Good breakfast. Highly recommend, also because of its ideal location from where many things can be visited and sports undertaken.

Exterior look not very impressive, interior very pleasant. Water park is really clean with good water temperature. Location of the hotel is not so interesting, small town with not many activities in it (but lot of options for excursions nearby, though).

Clean, pristine hotel in a quiet village

A very nice hotel, very quiet and extremely modern. Staff very helpful. In house dinner was quite bland, however breakfast was good. A good springboard for touring the area.

Not a 5* hotel, but decent - except the food!

This fairly large hotel is well-located in Bohinja Bistrica. It is well maintained with good-sized rooms, easy parking and decent service. The main let-down was the food: we had both the buffet and a la carte dinners, and both were awful.

Poor value for the money

At check in we were given room 001 - and I said nice - because last nights at another Hotel we also had room 001, and normally 001 is one of the best rooms.
Unfortunately this was NOT the case at this Hotel, as Room 001 (which was booked as executive room) had a very limited balcony compared with all other rooms - and further the mountain view (and sun to Balcony) was obstructed by trees just in front of the balcony. Consequesntly the room was very dark.
The first night we had our dinner at the Hotel - and that was just boring industial feeding - we were there at 07.30 but already there some of the buffet was empty and not refilled - the second night we had our dinner at the sister Hotel a few hundred meters away - and that was much better.
Breakfast was also not up to expectations - at an Eco Hotel we do expect to get fresh juiced and not poor industrial juice concentrate which was only there.
In generel the premises are worn down.
Poor value for the money!

Nous avons séjourné dans cet hôtel lors de notre road trip, et globalement, l’expérience a été assez moyenne en comparaison avec les autres établissements que nous avons testés. L’hôtel est clairement vieillot, que ce soit au niveau du mobilier, des infrastructures ou de la décoration des chambres. Certains équipements annoncés n’étaient pas accessibles, comme la salle de sport fermée, ce qui était assez décevant.

Le personnel n’était pas désagréable, mais nettement moins accueillant que dans les autres hôtels où nous avons séjourné, ce qui a renforcé notre impression mitigée. Dans l’ensemble, l’établissement aurait vraiment besoin d’un bon rafraîchissement, tant sur le plan des équipements que du service, pour être au niveau des attentes actuelles. Pour le prix, nous nous attendions à une meilleure expérience.

The hotel is beautiful but airco is not manageable by room. They put airco for entire hotel and that's it. The breakfast is not really full of choice. Swimming pool is ok even if on the pictures they were more funny games for little children than actually there.
