The window in the room was broken and did not close. We checked in after midnight as we got in via a late flight and therefore only noticed when we went to bed, and had to deal with the cold air and noise.
The room was clean but old. It’s possible to check in at any time.

The gym area is nice. The staff was awesome! No dining options within the hotel. You must walk to a nearby hotel for breakfast. Many restaurants in front of the hotel. Very close to the beach, stores, drug store, pet shop, and landry.

I wasnt sure where to stay in city. Some nicer looking hotels were more towards old town. I chose this area because i guessed at least id have a beach close by. That turned out to be the right call. The other beaches are port side. Probably dirty water and no waves. Looked artificial. This was also on the more affordable side. Other hotels here look older to be honest. I switched to aloe and wish i hadnt. Just wanted to sample another hotel. Only issues here was noise from outside. Thin glass. Although i had a sea view if i leaned out window. Tv was also slow to change channels and less channels than i have now. Blinds were a little chewed up. Morning sun hits the hotel. People smoked on my floor. Maids were a bit chatty. They do have a second door between hall and bedroom. That helped minimize smoke and noise. Room looked new. Small but nice. No prob getting into my room before check in time. Supermarket near by. You are right at the start of the main promenade and beach. Lots here. Longer walk to ferry than i hoped. Its north of here. Thought it would be where naval base is. Old town was safe and charming. You can walk or take bus or cab. The cruise ship area is also near here.

Hotel is close the the beach and easy access to public transport. Loads of shops close by as you on near the promenade.

Hotel receptionist (Marta) is very observant and makes every endeavour to make your stay comfortable (goes above and beyond).

Good location but no sound proofing

At first I was happy with my room, it was bright and had few commodities I enjoyed, but it did not take long to find out I could hear everything from the street and in the hallways, where a couple decided to have a heated verbal exchange for everyone to hear. My bed was comfortable, and the layout was ok, but the shower kept making a mess all over the floor. Although the place lacked personality, the price was right and located near a grocery store and the mercado municipal made up for it.

Great if you spend all of your time outdoors

Brilliantly located near to a great breach (clear water) and lots of great eateries (you are spoilt for choice ). The hotel itself has little in the way of facilities ie no bar, restaurant or terrace, although it's sister site just up the road does. Therefore the hotel is great if its sole purpose is a place to wash and sleep. The TV has no English speaking channels apart from news channels.

The room was small but perfectly adequate and the shower v good; wi fi also v good.

Do not pay for the hotel breakfast (€18) as so much more is on offer locally for a fraction of the price (why would you want to eat in a hotel when you can eat outside in the sun by the sea?!) The town centre is a 10-15 min pleasant stroll away (just keep walking straight to the end of the promenade - nothing much to see there, just a mall with the likes of Zara & primark!). The town of Triana, is about €10 by taxi from the hotel and is ok but not no more than another shopping area.

There is a taxi rank v close to the hotel (the fare from the airport to the hotel was €40 ).

All in all a good stay but next time I'll book somewhere with a terrace as there is absolutely nothing to do in this hotel.

The Hotel was extremely comfortable, it is just going through the final stages of a high class refurbishment, the room was very spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom very clean and tidy, if there was a criticism, or more of an observation I would suggest that there isn't sufficient clothing storage for a 14 day stay, having said that my wife and I managed comfortably.

Unfortunately I assume because of the name (playa) it was the NH on the beach. the hotel was not the one I thought it was. I thought it was the one on the beach but it was the older hotel and you had to walk around the corner to take breakfast. The breakfast was excellent the room was clean but noisy from the street. The staff was very helpful and the check in was great.

Great 3 star and amazing location

Hotel was great for a 3 star. The reception staff were extremely helpful (especially Marta) and spoke English. Free front desk sweets (the blue ones taste good and smell like bubblegum). Free wifi which can be slow at times when trying to watch videos but good enough for general searching. The hotel is located in a great spot just at the top of the golden sandy beach and local restaurants. The hotel has a partnership with a car rental service who bring the car to hotel (average €33 / £30 per day depending on exchange rate and size of car). If you do the hop on hop off bus, it stops a block away from the hotel (1-2 mins away). Breakfast is held at the parent hotel (4 star) which is 1 minute away; the staff there were rude. Only downside to NH Las Palmas was no tea/coffee in the bedroom or complimentary water.

Great hotel close to the beach

The NH is within throwing distance of the beach with lovely golden sands. The promenade has loads of restaurants which are all reasonably priced with a large selection of continental and canarian food. Take the hop on hop off tour which can be picked up local to the hotel for a good overview of Las Palmas. The Staff were there for all our needs. Room facilities were good with comfy beds and good aircon.Overall a good level of service in a well priced hotel.

We were in the hotel for 4 days and the room was only cleaned twice. We put out the \"Clean room now please\" when we left in the morning between 8 and 9 a.m. and returned at 3.30 - 4 p.m. to find that the room was not cleaned. When the cleaner knocked on the door at 4.15 - 4.45 p.m. we were either in the bathroom or too tired to move out.

Room was clean. Hotel was few metres from beach and all beach side restuarants. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Music and noise from cafes and restuarants in the evening but then this is what you would want in an area like that. Noise completely dies down at midnight. Breakfast, if you want it, is in sister hotel few metres, did not cause me any problems walking there. Would stay here again.

Overall nice hotel. Two points made by my parents: bed too small for 2 people, smaller than average double. Bed had wheels and was rolling away in the middle of the night making the pillows drop. Light switch in a weird place by the pillows which made lights to switch on when turning in bed.

Great two weeks in Gran canaria

We spent two weeks in Las palmas at the NH. The room was very spacious and even had its own balcony which was a pleasant surprise.
Bathroom was new, clean and large. The staff were all very nice and helpful.
The only slight issue was we booked a double bed and only got two singles pushed together.
We would definitely go back.

Our experience in the hotel was not great

Our experience in the hotel was not great. We stayed there for 5 days. It said it has sea facing rooms, but you can see the sea only from a certain angle if you are really flexible (physically). Our main suffering was the bed. The bed has wheel and you can’t lock it. So every time you lean back on the wall, the bed would start sliding. There was no Kettle in the room which was for the first time for us. If you don’t lock the door, cleaner can come in the room without knocking. You need to ask for basic things like shampoo and shower gels. The hotel was close to the beach/some restaurants though. Definitely won’t recommend to anyone.

I originally booked the NH Imperial but cancelled and rebooked at the NH Playa las Canteras which was the best decision I made. Although the Imperial is directly across from the beach, the PLC is only a one minute walk from the beach and better situated for restaurants and shopping. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. One of us staying at the hotel has asthma and the hotel was very good about ensure a smoke-free room. Breakfast was served at the Imperial which was no problem at all- it is only a two minute walk there along the beach boardwalk.

An Excellent and Extremely Good Value Hotel.

My partner and I enjoyed five very comfortable nights at this hotel. We upgraded to a high room which was well-appointed, clean and had a very good bathroom. The air-conditioning was quiet and efficient and the bed was extremely comfortable. Therefore, we had five nights of good sound sleep.

The very close proximity of the beach and many good bars and restaurants, were a considerable bonus.

I stayed in the off season (fall, not winter) but Las Palmas was still lively. I chose not to have breakfast at the sister hotel in order to have the chance to try out more restaurants, and there are many restaurants and coffee shops in the area to choose from at all times of the day. I had a very relaxing stay, but also had lots of opportunity for sun, exercise, and sightseeing.

Very friendly service at reception, as well at check-in as at check-out. Spacy room, very comfortable bed and clean room. Hotel situated at Playa de Canteras, quiet situation, no traffic noise. When you leave the hotel, you can walk along the beach, and many places of interest like Parque Santa Catalina, C/c El muelle y Avda Mesa y Lopez are in walking distance. Good starting point for visiting this portuary side of the city, and close to bus stop S Catalina, Good value for money.

Great value for money

The NH Playa Las Canteras is a quite, clean, well maintained hotel. The staff are welcoming, friendly and love to help, be it with your Spanish lingo or just getting directions to a local attraction.
The hotel was modern, clean and simplstic. Our needs were met with minimal fuss and any questions or queries were met with a pleasant and enthusiasic smile.
The only downfall of the hotel was we requested a double bed and instead got two single beds stuck together. But this caused no problem.
A fantastic location, that leaves you a minutes walk from the glorious Las Palmas promenade with the golden sand and clear blue ocean only a heartbeat away.
An ideal hotel for young couples on a budget or for a good week away

We stayed at the Playa las Canteras for 3 nights and the best thing was the friendly staff (most spoke good English) and the breakfast (the breakfast buffet was located in the other NH hotel just 2 mns walk away but had a great view of the ocean to compensate!). The room was ok a bit dated and the bed was a double (a difficult thing to find!) although a little narrow! the surrounding neighbourhood was lively - good if you like that type of atmosphere...and very easy walking distance of supermarkets, bars and restuarants. If you want to visit the old part of Las Palmas then you have to take a bus or taxi. We took a taxi on festival night and it cost €15 a bit expensive...Overall a good and reasonably priced hotel and a good location.

I stayed in the Playa de Canteras recently. The hotel is very central. On the whole ok. The beds are on wheels so if you sit up to watch the telly the bed slides forward (we had to make a structure with suitcase to avoid this).No restaurant, which we didnt realise. A coffee machine in reception. More of a business stop over hotel than a holiday destination.

Hotell not as good as looks in pictures. Very moldy smell, muy mohoso, alor a moho. In the room was no window but a hatch into a pit and you could hear all sounds from the other hotel guests. There had also been a lot of smoking in the rooms. We were very disappointed in this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone.

Le séjour s’est très bien passé dans l’ensemble. Dommage que la chambre était collée au local de nettoyage des femmes de ménages.. je pouvais entendre la porte s’ouvrir et se fermer, ainsi que les préparatifs de ménage.. la chambre n’était pas insonorisée car je pouvais entendre tous les bruits de couloirs (ménage des autres chambres, conversations des autres clients..) Sinon le personnel était très accueillant et serviable. Bonne localisation de l’hôtel !

Una noche en familia

Estuvimos una noche en una habitación que daba a un patio interior, con dos camas. Nos prepararon una cama supletoria para nuestro hijo. El edificio es antiguo pero las habitaciones han sido renovadas, aunque no tienen muy buen aislamiento al ruido. Las camas cómodas y todo muy limpio. La ducha con buena presión y temperatura. El desayuno se toma en el hotel anexo, pasando una calle por el paseo de las Canteras.
La única pega es que parecía que no tuvieran nuestra reserva preparada, por lo que tuvimos que esperar un poco. De resto todo muy bien.

Leider war in unserem Zimmer recht viel defekt und der Ausblick ging in den Hinterhof und somit war das Zimmer auch sehr dunkel. Als wir ankamen, war das Bett unseres Kindes nicht bezogen…um Zeit zu sparen, haben wir es dann selber gemacht…..und beide Nächte waren sehr kurz, das das Hotel sehr hellhörig war und wir immer wieder in unserem Schlaf gestört wurden…Die Lage ist super, aber leider wäre das der einzige Grund das Hotel erneut zu buchen…

Dejligt hotel tæt på stranden.
Værelset er fint og pænt.
Desværre har de lavet den fejl at der er klinker på gulvene i både værelse og gang, så du hører alt fra de andre værelser og hver gang nogen kører med kufferten på gangen.
Det hjælper heller ikke at rengøringspersonalet starter kl.8.30 med at gøre naboværelserne rene, det gør at det er slut med at ligge og sove da der konstant er rumsteren var både gang og de andre værelser

Hotellet er av det enkle slaget uten restaurant og bar. Dette er ikke noe savn da hotellet ligger meget sentralt på Las Canteras stranden med mange barer og restauranter. Hyggelig og blid betjening.

La única nota es que ahora en base a la situación, el desayuno lo ofrecen en una caja, aunque hay que recogerla en el otro hotel de la cadena

El único problema que hemos tenido ha sido que el desayuno era buffet pero con el covid-19 nos han servido cajitas de picnic.
El contenido de las cajas podría haber estado un poco más acertado ( bollería recién hecha en lugar de bollería industrial) no daban mucha opción a elegir... Solo elegías el cafe

Al llegar al Hotel NH Las Palmas Playa Las Canteras, se encontraba cerrado, con un aviso de dirigirse al NH Imperial a 150mts. Fuimos recibidos amablemente. Habitaciones muy cómodas pero con deficiente climatización, aire acondicionado con muchisimo ruido pero sin eficiencia alguna. Buen desayuno.
